Bangalow Native Food Tour with Delta Kay

Immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of the Bundjalung people on an enriching 1.5-hour guided walk along beautiful Byron Creek in Piccabeen Park, Bangalow. Led by Bundjalung woman Delta Kay, this unique experience connects you deeply to the land and its ancient stories. 🌿

Discover Ancient Traditions and Native Wonders

Once an old grazing land, this beautiful pocket of country has been lovingly regenerated with hundreds of native plant species. As you wander along the creek, Delta will introduce you to a variety of edible native plants, as well as those traditionally used for natural medicine, jewellery, fibre, tools, and weapons.

Cultural Stories and Local Wildlife

Listen to captivating local Aboriginal history and traditional stories passed down through generations. You will have the opportunity to learn some Bundjalung language and, if you are lucky, spot Binging (the river turtle) or Junbung (the platypus) swimming in the creek. 🐢

A Taste of Country

Conclude your journey by tasting a delicious selection of native foods, accompanied by a warm cup of bush tea and a biscuit. ☕
