An amazing and heart-warming learning experience A wonderful experience, I learned so much from Delta about the history of this place and the severe consequences of the European invasion for First Nations people, about sacred places and ceremony, Bush food and medicine, plants and so much more. And spending time with Delta was an absolutely heart-warming pleasure.

Best aboriginal educational tour This is the best aboriginal educational experience we've had across all of Australia!!! Delta taught us so much in a story telling way that the time flew by. The stories kept the kids entertained. The food experience was super thorough and fun to try!

enlightening It was an amazing experience , so much was learnt from our very knowledgeable guide. It is a must do when ever in Byron and I'll be recommending it to anyone I know who will be visiting Byron. The table of bush tucker (spoiler) at the end of the walk is fabulous .

Highly informative, entertaining and lovely walk with a terrific guide . We did the Broken head tour and from the the first minute , Delta entertained us with her incredible family stories set on the land we were walking through.
It was also an incredibly beautiful track to walk and we were lucky to see many whales and dolphins along the way .
The tour ends with Delta introducing us to bush Tucker which was a brilliant way to finish up .

Delta was amazing sharing Bundjalung culture and way of knowing . The connection to country and welcoming nature truly made us feel like we were family . Sea Country Tours ~ put it on your bucketlist!! We went on the first ever Sea Country tour and it was incredible. I loved every minute of it, it was so much fun and I will definitely go again soon. Delta is warm, friendly and shares so much history and wisdom thank you so much!

I would highly recommend any tour by Delta to tourists and locals. Delta’s deep connection to this special place was evident in her relaxed and informative history of the area.It was fascinating and humbling to learn more of the importance of the area to Aboriginal people and how it has been cared for by her family for 1000s of years. Her knowledge warmth and generosity made the tour very special.

Wonder filled tour As a long time local it was a privilege to hear the ancient stories of this stunning place from its Traditional Owner, Auntie Delta Kay. Her knowledge, wisdom, inclusivity and inclusion is infectious and enlightening. It was a wonderful few hours spent in her company. I’d encourage all those who live on Bundjalung land to join her tours.

This tour is a must do in Byron Bay. We did the Banglow Bush Tour and enjoyed every minute of it. Delta May is an incredible story teller and made the tour very engaging from start to finish. She shared with us the various plants used by the Bundjalung people for food and medicine. We even got to try to finger limes, berries and other plant leaves. At the end of the tour we got a beautiful cup of tea made from the local leaves found along the creek. I would highly recommend this tour if you’re visiting Byron.

Delta's tours are legendary, you learn so much and finishing up with the delicious bush treats is a bonus. Learning about where you are on Country and the history of the place is so important. Do yourself a favour if you live in the Northern Rivers or are a visitor - take one of Delta's tours. Great for international guests also!

Spectacular scenery and Information that after 25 yrs of living in Byron was new to me! A fun, moving, brilliant day out, a must for every local to experience so you know the land better where you are living. Loved the Bush Food Tasting at the end and the heart felt presence of Delta, our guide, all day.

Inspiring, informative and memorable I have always wanted to do a Bush Tucker walk, and this one, with Arakwal woman Delta Kay was fabulous. As well as a lovely walk through the beautiful Bangalow Parklands, we discovered all kinds of bush foods - from figs to lemon myrtle, to karkalla and lemon aspen. Delta is a natural story teller her story about the platypus had us all hanging off every word and she gave us a great insight into her culture and the history of her people, who have lived in the Byron region for more than 20,000 years. We also got to taste a great selection of bush tucker foods she had gathered for us, washed down with a cup of lemon myrtle tea. I can not recommend this tour highly enough, and am keen to do the Cape Byron tour as well.

Fascinating Tour by Delta We recently joined Delta for her Cape Byron tour and enjoyed absolutely every second of it.

With information passed on to her from her mother, Delta is extremely knowledgeable about the aboriginal history of the area.

Throughout the 90 minute tour, Delta shares aboriginal stories as well as teaches you about local bush tucker, natural medicine and more. We even got to try a few bush tucker foods at the end of the tour.

Delta is so friendly and easy to understand, she is a fabulous storyteller - we just loved listening to all she had to say.

We highly recommend this tour for anyone visiting Byron Bay and would love to see more tours like this one in more places across Australia.

Brilliant experience, don't miss it! Delta was AMAZING. So likeable and passionate about culture. We learned so much about the area and the work her family has done. There were stories, song, and bush tucker (vegetarian). We saw dolphins, eagles and a koala. Highly recommend! Delta also told about about Karkalla, the best meal we had on our trip!

What an incredible afternoon with Delta walking in the rainforest at Cape Byron Distillery. Every time I walk with Delta I learn so much - traditional foods, medicines and beautiful stories shared so generously. Mindy’s food was absolutely superb - I’m in awe of her skills!

This is our 3rd experience with Delta and ExploreByronBay and like the others was an unforgettable experience.
This was the Bundjalung Culture & Dining Experience With Delta Kay and Mindy Woods! This was the ultimate feast we were privileged to dine on the most delicious food in fact it was the flora and fauna that nourished the Aboriginal peoples for over 50,000 years. The tour started at Cape Byron Distillery, the home of Brookies Gin and we were honoured to walk through what was over 30 years ago a dairy farm now restored as a rainforest with the owners themselves Pam and Martin Brook.
During the tour Delta educated us on the plants and showed us the bush tucker growing.
After the tour we got to taste all the bush tucker and learnt even more about it.
Mindy Woods then served us up a culinary delight including betel lead with Mac crumb, native ginger and green chili as the first of the 4 courses consisting of 9 dishes. This was followed by Black kingfish tart, anise myrtle and Mac cream and topped amongst 3 other mains by Kangaroo native rendang curry with crispy saltbush.
These were my highlight dishes of the 9 served but all of them were equally as mindblowingly delicious.
This was a fabulous collaboration and I cannot recommend this tour enough to anyone who enjoys food.
I also would like to acknowledge the amazing Cape Byron Distillery for its incredible hospitality, location, owners and of course the fabulous gin.

We did this really amazing tour about aboriginal culture and their native edible bush tucker plants. You can tell that Delta is really passionate about telling the story of her culture and passing on ancient wisdome around native foods in the australien bush. One of the best tours I ever made. Highly recommended!!

Worth it Beautiful place to go that we wouldn’t have visited if it wasn’t for the tour there. I found the price a little restrictive (we paid $65/person and on top of that car parking, would be good if she could strike a deal with the car park to get a discount for people)
Im from UK and it’s been 20+ years since I learnt anything about Australia and could only remember Dreamtime stories vaguely. The guide started off really strong and gave a warm aboriginal welcome, we had stories true and Dreamtime and even bush tucker at the end which was a treat. I would have liked to hear more from her describing life as it would be 100s of years ago and about what steps she thinks can help aboriginals in Australia going forward. Very knowledgeable and glad I did it.

I was with a baby and a three year old, she engaged him which was great even if he did get distracted at times the walk was very doable for him.

I think the price point is important as these tours give a chance to open the eyes of those who can vote for what matters in the future. (For anyone listening I reckon for every 15 acres owned a (once inexhaustible) red ceder needs to be planted and cultivated in an effort towards matching historical flora, also the lighthouse needs a redesign as it is on top of a important site - I get the lighthouse won’t be completely moved now but if lifted three metres off the ground with a domed centre (which would be painted with a constellation of stars, pillars supporting it which are open at the top to view through (and aesthetically pleasing) so the sacred ground can be reached at sat upon and the old times remembered, while still having the lighthouse)

Great tour Awesome tour, great guid. Very interesting. We went as a group of 6 and it was perfect size. Lots of stories and facts that were great to learn.

Our tour with Delta was a profound experience for our entire family. Delta shared humble and deep insight about her personal and and family history of the area. She kept my primary school age children engaged and taught them so much about the natural world around the Broken Head/Byron area.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the Welcome to Country Walking Tour of Cape Byron hosted by the amazing Delta! The information Delta shared was so interesting - really important history of the area, that all tourists and ‘locals’ should hear about.

Beautiful walk, scenery, amazing stories and learnings and awesome to try local bush tucker at the end of it. We did this as a team before Byron Music Festival and everyone loved it, learned so much, and got a lot out of it. Delta is a fantastic guide, and generous with her knowledge of country.
