The staff at Queensland scuba are awesome been my first time was but at ease by my instructor Giyeol who helped me overcome a few fears I would highly recommend this place to learn scuba diving. Be it something new to learn or to refresh your already gotten skills it's worth it. I will be coming back to do the next stage of the diving ladder Advanced open water diver

Maybe for Experienced Persons Maybe not for inexperienced snorkelers. Fellow participants were friendly and so were most of staff. The boat trip out to the island was calm and great to see sea world and amazing beach properties from the water. However, the safety protocols that you would expect were not at the level expected during our trip. The goggles and breathing tubes across all participants were full of sand, so not sure if the usual disinfectant dip between participants was actually in place or not. We were guided by a staff member on the boat trip out to Wave Break Island that there were a couple of dangerous fish that we needed to keep away from but they did not have pictures or clarifying descriptions of either to mitigate our avoidance. As a majority of us were first time snorklers, we were surprised with the lack of supervision of all participants during the 2 1/2 hours we were in the water. One person appeared to be having issues, but was not supported and appeared to be left to access the boat unaided during the experience. Aside from the safety protocols, the water was warm, there was no coral, there was considerable wave, and much less fish variance than expected. However, it was only $88 all in for a four hour round trip including 30 minutes there, and 30 minutes back, so on consideration the quality of the trip and safety provisions that you had to sign complete exclusion for prior to getting on the boat, was probably about right. If you want to a shorter and safer experience with a lot more coral and marine life, you may choose the Seaworld reef experience.

We had a great time snorkelling! The team was very friendly and fun making for a memorable morning. We took advantage of their pick up/drop off service which made it easy. Wish we could go again while here!

I had a fantastic experience. The whole team was professional, supportive, and clearly very knowledgeable.

A special mention to Elliot, who was an outstanding instructor. He explained everything clearly, was extremely patient, and made sure everyone felt comfortable and confident in the water. His calm and professional approach made a big difference during the training.

Lauren and Josh were also excellent instructors, very skilled, attentive, and always willing to help. It was clear that safety and proper technique are a big priority for them, while still keeping the course enjoyable and relaxed.

Overall, it was a great learning experience, and I would highly recommend this dive centre to anyone wanting to get their Open Water certification. Thanks again to Elliot, Lauren, and Josh and the rest if the teams for such a great introduction to scuba diving

Just finished & passed the 3 day Open Water PADI course with this team, all very good, safety orientated whilst displaying plenty of patience. They are focused on the wellbeing of everyone in the water and making sure we experienced the entire dive with fun! Shout out to Elliot who put up with a very uncoordinated me, you were a champion, thank you for all your efforts! But also, to all the crew, well done & thank you 🙏 🤿

Highly recommended if you want to have a solid foundation for diving and be ready to discover the underwater world. I’ve done my Divemaster internship and I had such a great time. All the crew is just amazing, professional and with ages of experience. Always smiling, happy time and good vibes. All the instructors are super expert and ready to answer at every question about diving. I’m so proud of my choice to spend this last months in this dive company, I’ve learned so much.

Really great diving school. Learning in the water from day one to get familiar with the signals and gear. Theorie is being thought at the office, on the boat and mainly on the app - great for flexibility and more time for training.

I was very anxious to complete the course for diving with my family at the resort. It took me a couple of attempts of the Day 2. I can't recommend more, first dive and it was fantastic, the dive was not very long but long enough to fully experience it. Very patient instructors and I am likely to dive again. They have GoPro hire for $50 and your sd card to keep, just be aware the availability is
limited so better arrive early!

Good for first timers. Not the best view under water but worth the money and service. Hiyori/Yuri was a wonderful instructor, got us food for fish feeding. Helped us be comfortable and safe, tried to give us the best possible experience there. This review was not asked for, just to give everyone an honest review without bias.

Bad experience Unfortunately they never pickup thire phone .you have to do most of their jobs for them and the minibus that they use was for transfer were faulty and we almost stuck on the way

Advanced OpenWater I did my advanced open water with Josh and Tomo, also assisted by Sara. Amazing team taught me all the skills in a safe and friendly environment. Had the chance to have the entire boat for myself as I was the only booking that day. Thanks for going out in the boat eventhough I was the only one on board. Special thanks also to our boat captain John who is incredibly friendly and makes the experience on board so much fun with his positive vibes and good music while keeping us safe.

Very good dive center. All personel is super friendly and were very helpful. The weather was not that good unfortunately but we still did some very nice dives. Wave break island has surprisingly many species of fish, lot’s of stonefish, eels, puffers, lionfish and more. We saw dolphins pass through but just missed them on the dive. My girlfriend followed the open water course, and there was lot’s of opportunities to dive together. The last fun dive of the course can be done fully together. The instructors take their work seriously and are very friendly! If things go too fast for you, just tell the instructors, but ofcourse be prepared for the course (basic swimming skills).

I recently completed my Open Water Diving certification and I couldn’t be happier with the experience! From start to finish, the training was professional, thorough, and a lot of fun. The instructors were extremely knowledgeable, patient, and made sure I felt safe and confident every step of the way.

The course was well-structured, combining clear theory sessions with hands-on pool practice before heading out into open water. Each dive built on the last, and by the end I felt completely prepared and excited to explore the underwater world on my own.

What really stood out was the attention to detail and the encouragement from the team—they not only taught the skills but also shared their passion for diving, which made the whole journey even more inspiring. The equipment was in excellent condition, the dive sites were stunning, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming and supportive.

I highly recommend this course to anyone thinking of getting certified. It’s an incredible feeling to breathe underwater for the first time, and thanks to this team I now feel confident and eager to continue my diving adventures!

Awful customer service with no refunds even if you don't begin the course I registered to complete an Open Water Diving Licence with them. On Day 1 they gave us very little preamble instruction, didn't even explain how to breath through the regulator properly, but strapped us in weights and got us to jump in the ocean immediately.
I, unfortunately, had a panic attack as I was unused to the weights, and didn't know how to breath through the regulator. I was asked multiple times to get in the water while I was actively hyperventilating. As I was sitting on the boat trying to calm my breathing so it would be safe enough to get in the water, my equipment was given to another student. With my breathing under control, I was calm and ready to get in the water but I no longer had any equipment and had to wait on the boat while everyone else completed the training.
I asked the men on the boat if I would get another chance to get in the water and they gave me a noncommittal response. When my instructor finally returned to the boat, I asked him if I would get another chance to complete the training for this very first dive on the next day of the course, he told me I needed to reschedule. This was the first time it was indicated that my entire three-day course was cancelled because I wouldn't get in the water when I was hyperventilating, an action that I had deemed the safest course of action.
Disappointed but understanding, I tried to explain to the customer service representative that I didn't want to get in the water while I was hyperventilating because it was unsafe to do so, that I was actively engaging in techniques to calm my breathing so I could continue the course, but that my equipment had been given to another student while I was doing so. I asked if it was possible for me to complete the initial dive on Day 2 since my equipment was used to aid another student on Day 1. I was refused and told I needed to reschedule.
I tried to explain that I was moving overseas at the end of the month and that I didn't have time to reschedule. I asked for a refund since I didn't even get the opportunity to begin my Day 1 training, but was again refused under the assertion that it was a change of mind. I never changed my mind, I asked three different times if I could get in the water to complete my training but at that point my equipment was being used to help another student. I tried explaining that this wasn't a change of mind that my equipment was removed and there was nothing I could do. So I paid a total of $545 to sit on a boat for a few hours.
The customer service was horrendous and the representative was so belittling. Even if I had the time to reschedule with this company, I wouldn't because it was an awful experience with insufficient instruction given.
If I could rate them zero stars I would.

Best dive company on the Gold Coast!! I did my open water in 2022 and just came back for my advanced and it’s as great as I remember!

The staff are so kind and thoughtful and really make you feel comfortable! My instructor Tommo was amazing and really helped me step up my diving. Skipper Johny was super kind too and great with the guests.

The admin team were also super helpful with communication when I made an error with my booking, so special out to Rhonda for making my day with her help!

Already put a deposit down on my next course and looking forward to diving with them in the future! Definitely recommend:)

Check water temperature and water visible before you go 24 hours. Not as expected. Water was super cold even with wet suit, water was not clear, too many people in the same location so not a private tour at all. They should notify you of these details instead of simply taking your money with no cancelation same day.

My 13-year-old son was enrolled in the PADI Open Water course at the Queensland Scuba Diving Company in June 2024. We submitted a medical self-declaration, which contains the participant's height and weight, several weeks before the course was due to start. When we turned up for the first day of the course, they didn't have a wetsuit for him in the right size, which was adapted to the water temperature at this time of year. He was therefore equipped with no less than three thin wetsuits, which both hindered his movements and did not help him keep warm either.
The company does not have a pool where you carry out technical exercises etc., everything happens in the sea. The result of the lack of equipment was that my son had to cancel his training on the first day, because he was unable to keep warm.

The instructors were quick to claim that this was not their fault, as they had never experienced this before. They also blamed the company's office staff, who had not notified them of my son's size. And come up with all the other crappy excuses. It was topped off when they offered him to start the course again the next day, for an additional charge of AUD 120! The grace of audacity!

We obviously did not accept this, not only is it downright rude, but there was nothing to say that neither the water temperature should change nor that they should have better equipment in place the next day.

I of course sent a sharp message to the company that afternoon, and in their defense they have refunded the entire course fee. But they ruined the opportunity for my son to become a certified diver while we were in Australia.

I have been an active diver for 25 years, and participated in a number of courses and trips with various diving companies. I have never experienced anyone as negligent and unprofessional as the Queensland Scuba Diving Company. Recommend everyone steer clear of these. There are multiple companies offering better experiences.

I did the open water certification course with QSDC and it was absolutely incredible!! My only regret is not doing it sooner. All staff I interacted with were kind and helpful, and their passion for what they do is so clear. Maroo (I am definitely spelling that wrong I am so sorry!) and Laura were our instructors and they are both excellent, if I could give more stars I would! Because it's winter we were just a small group, I'd recommend doing it in water because of this. We worked in groups of 2 or 3 + the instructor and it was such a wonderful experience. The only con was the weather but that is not anything they can control and I am happy to brave the cold for a lower instructor/student ratio. If you're on the fence about doing a course or dive with QSDC do it!! Although the rain and wind was a little unpleasant we also got a beautiful rainbow :)

Thanks to our instructor Laura, patient and professional, took good care of me and my 2 sons. We achieved 12 meters on the 3rd day. when you got equalisation and floated under the sea, you would know what freedom means! What an amazing experience!

I did my open water certification here while on working holiday and I was amazed by the service I got from Laura and the rest of the team! Laura was super fun and taught everything super clearly! I’m happy to say this was an excellent experience and I’m super thankful for it all! 10 STARS if I could!!!

My experience with Qld Scuba Diving was exceptional due to my incredible instructor Laura. She is highly professional and an expert Scuba Diver Instructor.
Scuba Diving didn’t come naturally for me being my very first time that I had ever Scuba Dived. The conditions unfortunately were horrible also for my first 2 days which made it extra challenging for me to the point I wanted to pull out and quit the course. It was Laura’s professionalism, patience and knowledge that helped me achieve confidence and learn to enjoy breathing and taking in all the beauty of what’s hidden under the ocean. Our final day was pristine and the most magnificent feeling of being comfortable and confident 14 metres under the ocean. The scenery was spectacular and beautiful. I am so grateful to Laura for being so patient and kind to me over the past 3 days and I am now excited and absolutely pumped to continue more diving.
One piece of feedback I could offer to the team would be to cover a little more theory on the first day prior to getting in the water as I feel this may assist in preparing for what to expect when you get to the dive site day 1.

The Open Water Dive course was better than I anticipated. Run very efficiently and smoothly. All of the instructors (especially Laura and Frani) are very knowledgeable and friendly. I could not fault the course or the team. Would 100% recommend and will definitely be coming back to do further qualifications!!

Horrible experience. The instructor Francisca has not introduced herself or made the experience fun. If you have done diving before I recommend that you do not do it here, there are places that take you to the open sea. Here you will be taken to a beach and you will spin in circles on the shore. We only went down 6 meters and saw nothing. The worst $130 invested of my life.

I got my open water diving license with these guys. The course runs across 3 days and they were very accommodating when I needed to split the days. Ambro was my instructor for the first 2 days and then we had Laura for the 3rd. Both were amazing. So helpful and friendly and really made you feel welcome. Everything is really well organised as there are a few different groups out at the same time for different things. It was impressive. Diving must do something to your dopamine levels as every member of staff is so happy. It, and them, will leave you feeling great. Highly recommend.

QLD scuba diving Company is good Actually the diving was canceled twice due to bad weather conditions. I liked that QLD scuba diving Company’s safety first policy and communicated with me very well.
On the other hand, it was very difficult to reach out TripAdvisor for refund request that I wasn’t happy about it.

I got my dive master license there.
As you get a dive master license it is adviced that you pick a dive center that you are familiar with as you are not only do the training but also part of the employee there.

But I just Google and decided to go there. I'm glad that I pick there as all the staff there are very friendly and nice especially my mentor Tomo.

Learnt a lot of things throughout the process and it is always different experiences when we go out the sea although we always dive in the same spot. But the view under always different.

Great place to get your license or try the discovery scuba diving.

Their Discover Scuba Diving session was an incredible first diving experience! At not many other places can your very first time with SCUBA be in the gorgeous Pacific waters and involve meeting sea creatures in their natural habitat. The instructors were lovely and I felt safe the whole time. I’d highly recommend it for anyone looking to try out diving or just for an unforgettable way to experience the Queensland beaches on vacation.

unhelpful and boring we were supposed to be picked up at 7.30 at our hostel. At 7.45, they told me to order a uber, and to hurry because « we were late ».
Nothing to see there, no colors, few fishes but nothing interesting.

I went on the Wonders of the Gold Coast double dive package, and I have to say this was amongst the best diving centres I've encountered. The staff was so friendly and accommodating and they made sure everyone had the best day possible. They created a fun, relaxing environment. Oscar and Riane, out dive guides, were excellent, as well as every other staff member I spoke to! Really recommend, thanks guys

Our second time with these guys & we highly recommend them for safety and lots of good time, even for less experienced swimmers. The tour runs for about 3 hours from midday to early afternoon. Very accommodating and Steve makes a mean cup of hot choco! Congrats and well done guys.

Amazing diving experience It was an amazing experience! Perfect for sea diving beginners. The price included induction, diving gear, instructor training and free pickup. It was absolutely beautiful in the ocean and will come back for premium diving next time.
