The trip is a full day, with quite a bit of time on the bus. Craig knew when to talk, and when to let people have a snooze. His discussion and genuine caring attitude made the trip more fun.
The sites themselves are amazing. The coastal attractions took my breath away, the rain forest felt like a trip back in time, and we even spotted kangaroos and emus! It was a great day.
One suggestion: if it isn’t the dead of summer, dress warmly. The wind off the ocean is no joke and the rain forest is both damp and cool. I was really glad to have brought a warm jacket.
BTW, Barry doesn’t really drive the bus. He’s a stuffed platypus that serves as Craig’s straight man.
Jimmy knew all the special places to stop for a quick extra like the koalas up the tree, which thrilled our Asian tourists.
Fantastic day trip and ask for Jimmy he was the best.
.He went beyond and showed kangaroos, rainbow -which the overseas visitors were thrilled and his enthusiasm made the trip relaxed and never boring .Highly recommended-great value
Spotting wild kangaroos and koalas was such a novel experience for me. What made the trip even more special was how well he knew the “locals” — the magpies at Teddy’s Lookout that he greeted like old friends! The pace was relaxed and Peter’s stories, insights, and humour made the day truly memorable. Highly recommend this tour with him!
Our journey along the Great Ocean Road to the Twelve Apostles was truly unforgettable, thanks to our exceptional tour guide, Ann. From start to finish, Ann was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also passionate, engaging, and attentive to every detail. She shared fascinating insights and historical context at every stop, turning the entire trip into a rich and meaningful experience.
Ann’s energy and enthusiasm made the long drive feel like an adventure, and her storytelling brought each landmark to life. She knew the best viewpoints, photo spots, and hidden gems that we would have otherwise missed. Her timing was impeccable, ensuring we avoided crowds and got the most out of every location.
If you're looking for a guide who goes above and beyond, Ann is the one. We felt well taken care of and genuinely enriched by the end of the tour. Highly recommend her to anyone exploring the Great Ocean Road!

 I would recommened this tour.
Clearly a popular tour company as they had 5 minibuses on the tour that day (each with their own guide)
He is fantastic, fun loving and explains every detail so sweetly.
He made sure we were comfortable , enjoy to the max and go back home with Australian history and memories.
A must do tour!!!
Patrick was our tour guide - great sense of humour and very informative about all the places we went to which made it very entertaining. Thank you for a wholesome day ☺️
He has sound knowledge of nature, history and kept great time throughout our tour, informing us in advance about the movements and time available.
It was easy to book with them and Orlando was very prompt and helpful with our request to carry our small wheelchair and organise leg room.
We had a wonderful tour and highly recommend the reverse tour, which covers all the main stops and beats the tourist rush. We had enough time to enjoy every spot and didn’t feel rushed.
We got to witness breathtaking views, stunning coastlines, and the famous Twelve Apostles, but we also had the pleasure of encountering kangaroos and exploring various points along the route. Peter navigated the road like a pro while keeping us entertained and informed at every bend. It's safe to say that this adventure will stay fresh in our hearts and minds for a lifetime! Thank you, Hit the Road Tours, and especially you, Peter, for crafting such a memorable day !!
He’s a very pleasant guide. He’s very personable. We felt we have been entertained very well. We highly recommend his service. Excellent care..
I definitely recommend the company ????
We easily communicated with the tour operator. We were fortunate to be in a location for 1st pick-up. Our driver Jimmy Chan was absolutely outstanding.
Along our drive a kangaroo jumped in front of our van, no one or roo was injured. We saw a wallaby sitting next to a families post box, just watching us pass by and we saw about a dozen sleeping koalas. Jimmy said it was certainly unusual to see all three during a tour.
Jimmy was very helpful, shared good information about the places we were traveling to, guided us through the rain forest trail, and more importantly…communicated bathroom breaks and their location at the stops. We traveled with a wonderful family and enjoyed ourselves immensely.
Only suggestion would be having internet available while on the tour otherwise, Jimmy, thank you for a memorable tour experience.
When it came to the actual tour itself, we were guided by Orlando, Peter, Dimitry, Neil and Rio who were very professional and patient towards our family, which we greatly appreciated considering our slower movement and uncertainties when it comes to travelling with young children. A special shout out to Peter who spent the most time with us and made us exceptionally welcomed with his friendliness and warm hospitality! It definitely made us feel at home especially it was our first time visiting Melbourne!
Thank you so much, Hit the Road Tours for this pleasant experience in Melbourne!!
Highly recommended tour. A special thanks to Yannis
Our guide Jimmy Chen was Excellent.
He explained everything with lot of interest and passion.
He looked after everyone very well on a cold & rainy day.
Well done Jimmy!!!
Very highly recommended :)
I highly recommend to do this tour with Hit the Road!!
Maybe it's normal for a one day tour, but stopped by about 10-15 each, except for lunch (40 mnt) was too short for enjoying the place and with walks and restroom too. I suggest omit some stops like rainforest that only shows creek.
Put some electricity plugs on the van so that the audience could charge their mobile phones while travelling would be much much appreciated.
