Up close with crocs in a peaceful jungle environment We did the Croc 1-hour river cruise, which includes two different cruises (one departing from Daintree Village and the other from the saltwater cruise near the Cape Tribulation ferry terminal). We did them a few days apart, and both were excellent.

We had Matt as our guide on both trips and he was fantastic – super knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly very experienced at spotting crocodiles. He had a great eye for finding them and positioned the boat well so we could get really good views without disturbing them.

On one cruise we saw a crocodile poking its head out of the water, and on the other we saw three baby crocodiles about a year old sitting on different logs, plus a rare hatchling, which was a highlight.

The check-in staff were also lovely and welcoming, adding to the overall experience. Both cruises were not crowded at all, which made it feel peaceful and relaxed. It was a really enjoyable slow cruise down the river and through the billabongs, taking in the unique jungle environment and wildlife.

Overall, a very relaxing and memorable way to experience the Daintree and see crocodiles in their natural habitat.

Crocodiles! We had a great afternoon on the Daintree River with Tim, our boat captain. We learned a lot about the river and its inhabitants. We were even able to see two crocodiles!

Chose Crocodile Express based on the 4.8 stars and absolutely thrilled that we did.
Pouring rain meant we lucked out with having the boat to ourselves - private family tour with Jared, who was wonderful and knowledgeable.
Saw many crocs - much more than we thought! Saw a couple of cute little babies as well adults.
The scenery is, of course, gorgeous.
The price is very reasonable.

Croc, croc, croc The tour was amazing!! We saw multiple swimming and laying on shore, the boat would stop and even go back to give us a better look. Our guide knew insanely much about crocodiles and told us many really interesting facts and stories on the way, not only about crocs but about all wildlife that life in the rainforest like bullsharks, snakes, crabs, etc.

We booked a cruise on the highter Daintree before our trip on getyourguide. We ended up seeing one croc! 🐊 When we returned to the dock we found out we could go on unlimited cruises for the next 30 days with our ticket! We did another cruise on the lower Daintree and saw 3 more crocs! The skippers on both cruises were very knowledgable and told us a lot about the surrounding.

Absolutely amazing! The captain was really knowledgeable and authentic! We loved it! Recommend to everyone! You also can do the second one for free on another part of the river!

Great crocodile boat tour Wonderful boat ride, saw some crocs and wild birds. Guide was knowledgeable and very good at spotting things. Ride was even longer than promised.

I cannot recommend that you do this river cruise enough! We booked a ticket for the upper river cruise and in doing so we were then able to go on another cruise free of charge in the lower river location. The guides were very knowledgeable and we got to see an array of wildlife. Lots of Crocs, birds and a tree snake. A must do!!!!

Managed to spot 4 Crocs in the 1 hour ride. Surrounding was cooling. Croc burger is nice but croc patty can be bigger though. Coffee was good too.

Crocs in the Wild! Brilliant value experience to see crocodiles in the wild! We did both tours and personally preferred the Daintree village one, as Neil was a great guide and with there being 6 of us on the boat, it felt a lot more personal. The other one unfortunately had a huge coach load of people on it and we felt quite packed in and due to all their talking we couldn't hear Jet very well, despite him also being a great guide! We saw around 4 crocs on each tour, plus a couple of tree snakes and interesting birds. Would definitely recommend, but would say to go in the afternoon to avoid the coach trips. Thanks guys!

River adventures and a date with scarface and his ladies. What a cracking day on the river! We kicked things off with a cruise through the upper river, then followed it up with a spin down the lower stretch. The absolute highlight? Getting up close and personal with the local legend himself—Scarface. The guides were full of fun facts (and a few cheeky jokes), making the whole experience both educational and entertaining. Couldn't wipe the grin off our faces—top day out!

We had a great excursion today on the river. Multiple birds and 8 Crocs. Driver and navigator were very information and entertaining. Highly recommend this excursion!

Great but did not go for 1 hour The tour was great to see crocs. Very knowledgeable guide who showed us things we wouldn't have spotted. Only downside was the boat before us was late by 15 mins and we arrived right back on time so the tour was only really 45mins.

Incredible cruise to spot crocs in the wild with great guides We did both cruises (upper and lower daintree) and both were great! Our guides Neil and Jet were very knowledgeable and showed us a lot of crocs, including week-/month-old hatchlings, juveniles, females of different ages and scarface, a beautiful male.

Hidden gem, with a great guide! It was a relatively spur of the moment decision to take this tour - I had spent the day at Mossman Gorge, and just had enough time to make it for the last tour of the day.

Jed is an extremely knowledgeable guide, very down to earth and happy to answer questions. I was less interested in the crocodiles than the rainforest and surrounds before I took the tour, but found myself hanging on to Jed’s every word - and every croc or bird he pointed out.

Surpassed my expectations, and then some. So glad that I made the effort! Looking forward to doing the upper Daintree cruise on Friday (included as part of the ticket price).

A great experience. Bill our guide was both entertaining and knowledgeable. Saw Scar, the alpha male croc in the area as well as another adult male, a couple of females and some juveniles. Also some local bird life including a spectacular azure kingfisher.

Bill was an amazing tour guide. Super knowledgeable and friendly. We saw a bunch of crocs, some birds, snakes and other wildlife, as well as a number of really interesting Daintree river trees. Would highly recommend this tour. Will probably be back for the freshwater version of the tour that leaves from Daintree Village tomorrow!

Absolutely fantastic and not to be missed! We did both tours when visiting the area and both of our guides were incredible. So knowledgeable. The scenery was stunning, the boats were clean, comfortable and well maintained and the crocs were awesome!

A very enjoyable cruise! The tour guide was very knowledgeable: we saw a croc guarding a dead Brahman, and his narration gave life to the whole episode! He was explaining how the Brahman might have got killed, what will the croc do next, and the consequences in the next couple of days. He was engaging as well as insightful, a big thank you to make it an enjoyable ride! Sorry I forgot his name, but we went on Boxing Day of 2024, maybe the management can help me out to give credit to him! Cheers! 😄

Such great value and great for families! Absolutely gorgeous cruise and insightful tour guide who shared many beautiful stories about the area.

We saw an alpha male croc honing in on a dead pig in the water and got to watch it fish it out of the driftwood and take it to shore to eat! It was such a privilege and the kids were so excited and happy to see something so wild!

Amazing experience Both tours with Crocodile Express were great although we did not get to see any crocodiles on the first tour. Neil was our guide for the bonus tour that startef near the ferry. With his experience and persistence we we able to take the most amazing pictures and videos of a huge croc sliding into the water.

Definitely recommend this trip What a fabulous trip along the daintree river. Our guide was so friendly and knowledgeable about all the birds, plant life and crocodiles that we saw. He spotted 3 crocodiles for us, slowed the boat so we could take photographs and explained about crocodile life on the river.

Croc Spotting Went on this tour as part of our “Total Daintree Experience” with Daintree Discovery Tours and were very fortunate enough to spot some crocs.

Neil was having the best luck of the day and even during high tide managed to find a female croc up high on a bank in the mangroves and then further down the river near the ferry spotting the alpha croc of that section, Scarface.

Despite the odds being against us we saw some incredible wildlife and had a great cruise along the river.

Avoid cruise if bus company passengers on board. The cruise from Daintree Village was good, clean boat, knowledgeable guide and good duration. Ticks all the boxes. The second lower reaches cruise from the ferry terminal not so good. 1 hour cruise actually turned into 35 minutes. We left late waiting for a bus passenger then it turned out the bus tour operators insist their customers get dropped off on the other side of the ferry. This saves the bus tour operators about 20 minutes but this time comes off the cruise if you are a normal paying customer as you sit in what is basically a ferry to/from the other side of the ferry. Would not recommend the lower reaches cruise if bus company passengers will be on board.

An absolute must if you are visiting the daintree rainforest!
We seen 6 crocodiles throughout the tour and there was even a special guest with us on the boat.
The guide was super friendly, chatty and informative.

Gotta say the logo for Croc Express nearly put us off, but we were so glad we met the crew before it did. Right from the moment I chatted to Tracy.amd then Rachelle, booked our tours, and then joined the two tours with our guides Jahn and then Neil, we were delighted. Sisters It turned out to be a sunny afternoon after the rain all morning. We got to see a few female crocs but not Scar face, the big male croc.
It’s worth a visit even for the boat ride on the river.

Great tour saw lots of crocs, great value too as your ticket allows return access to both this tour departure point and the one near the ferry. Hahn (apologies if spelt incorrectly) was a superb tour guide - he made the whole journey very engaging even in between croc sightings. Definitely recommend!

The captain was extremely knowledgeable as he grew up in the area and extremely friendly. He knew the layout of the river, where to find the good spots, and just overall a captain that makes the tour enjoyable.

Had a really great tour with these guys today. Had the whole boat to ourselves and saw a good few crocs. Very knowledgeable tour guide and not stingy with the hour window they give you. Would highly recommend - well worth the price.

Disappointed Did not meet my expectations created by the ads and advice we got upfront. One hour river cruise and we only spotted one bird and one small juvenile crocodile, nothing else. And this was at low tide when we were told that this should be a preferred time. Nice if you are interested in mangroves and of course wild animals don’t care for tour schedules but I was disappointed and expected more from such must-do-tour.

Lovely River Cruise Jan was a wonderful guide. The river cruise was lovely. He tried very hard to locate a crocodile, but they did not cooperate. It really didn’t matter as his narration of the native flora was fascinating. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Great family experience Great experience. Enjoyed dealing with this company and was surprised to find out we got a 2nd ride free on their other cruise. Make sure you try around a lower tide we saw a few good crocs.

Thoroughly enjoyed both the upper and lower Daintree cruises, which you get for the price of one.

We were lucky enough to see about 6 crocodiles on each one, with the most impressive one being a big alpha male (approx 500kg) who was enjoying the sun in the mud.

The operators were fantastic and we would highly recommend their cruises to others.

Enjoyable and educational We did Lowe Daintree and 2 days later did the upper Daintree.
Both skippers were knowledgeable, friendly and engaging which made both trips a pleasure.
Definitely felt better than going to a Croc zoo or Croc Farm. Got to see Crocs baking in the sun, swimming and little ones trying to stay hidden. Got to see some different birds & a snake in a tree.
Definitely worth doing.

Great value, unique experience My wife and I had a great time on our cruise. The captain/guide was super enthusiastic, knowledgeable and friendly, while the overall service and experience was fantastic. We ended up seeing 5 different crocodiles across the hour cruise. Highly recommended!

Great crocodile tour We had a great tour with Jed. We saw 4 crocodiles on the tour , a python and some birds. Very beautiful. Worth your money.

Great tour, fantastic views of Daintree and mangroves from the river. Big thanks to Jed, who is not just a great skipper but is also very knowledgeable about the area and its wildlife and happy to share his knowledge. Be sure to stop by at the croc cafe on the way back for some snack and coffee, it is really good.

We did both parts of the Crocodile Express tours and this location was definitely the best! We were the only boat on the water with only 5 people inside, so very private and quiet. The guide gave us a lot of information on the plants and animals in the Daintree and had a lot of humor. We got to see several big and baby crocodiles,even one eating a wild pig! And some Tree snakes and kingfisher birds. Definitely go to this side of the river.

Wonderful trip with experienced “captain” who knew exactly where to find the crocs and various birds. He was happy to answer any questions and was full of interesting facts about the individual crocodiles. We saw old scar face, a couple of ‘ladies’ and some young ones.

The trip wasn’t expensive and was worth every penny. Thank you also to the lady who booked us in as she was lovely and welcoming to us clueless, ‘city’ Poms!! ????

Croc sighting Enjoyable enough. Guide/driver was knowledgeable about the wildlife and the area. Not a lot of crocs though in the area we travelled.

3 crocs!! Trip was awesome. I enjoyed going through the narrow creeks which is where we saw the crocs. Would’ve liked to be slightly longer if possible maybe 90mins - 2hrs
