Captain Alex gave us info about each ship in the graveyard. Then the dolphins came over to see us. Very instructive and enjoyable tour of Port River Ships’ Graveyard and Dolphins.

An extraordinary experience. Worth every cent! Alex was our tour guide / Captain and was incredibly informative and full of local knowledge. It's just a little boat and only a handful of guests for the tour which makes it very personal. I was in it for the dolphins and they did not disappoint. Being a dolphin sanctuary there are resident dolphins in the harbour and they swam all around the boat for what felt like ages. Such a treat to be so close to these beautiful wild creatures. I wholeheartedly recommend this experience and would absolutely do it again.

Ships graveyard cruise. Great to seethe working side of the Port. Alex our skipper had excellent knowledge and shared it in clear detail. Would highly recommend this cruise.

A really great activity This is the most fabulous activity. It was a little boat with a skipper/guide who was just great. We saw lots of dolphins and he would stop and let us all see them. It was truly the best thing to do and not expensive either.

Lots of Dolphins It was a great experience. We saw lots of dolphins on both the outward and inward journey.
We did the last trip of the day and it was quiet with only 4 passengers.

Nice boat cruise from the Port, heads inland around the dolphins, bird Sanctuaries and ships graveyard. Very interesting and professional commentary by guide Alex. Skipper Jim is always scanning for dolphins and manoeuvres the boat for best views! We saw several sets of dolphins on the cruise, it was the best! Zoom, the elder dolphin was the first we saw. A cruise where the booking process hit a snag Cruise was nice enough, staff presented interesting information in an engaging way. Cruise was appropriate duration.
During booking Tripadvisor page suddenly quoted a lower price, without indicating that it was in US$, so i ended up paying more then normal. Surely this is a problem that needs investigating.

Lovely way to spend an afternoon This was a most enjoyable afternoon. My 6 year old granddaughter loved seeing the dolphins. (We saw lots!)
Having lived in Adelaide for 30 years it was my first visit real to the Port River. I found it very interesting to learn some of the local history. Captain Jim did a great job engaging all age groups.

Relaxing and exciting A very relaxing tour through the river with a nice view and a nice captain.
We were lucky to see some dolphins and the captain was all the time pointing them to us. Also the explanation about the old ships and the port was amazing. A rich history for a place that definitely worth a visit.

Absolutely lovely cruise down the port. Plenty of dolphins seen. The staff were great.
There is a toilet on board and a bar too allowing you to enjoy a drink while the sun goes down.

Loved the experience Loved the experience. We went with my 92 year old dad who has fond memories of swimming in the Port River as a teenager and was amazed at all the changes along the river. We were also lucky to see dolphins.

Highly recommended trip for all ages. We had a fabulous trip. Alex, our skipper and tour guide, was exceptionally knowledgeable and full of great information. We were lucky enough to see several dolphins and some great birds along the way. We ranged in age from 62 to 9 years, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the trip. We were fortunate to see several dolphins, some of whom played around our boat. It was reassuring to to know the port is a sanctuary for dolphins and they are breeding here and free to return to the ocean anytime.
A bird sanctuary borders the port - some travel from Siberia and the Ships Graveyard stories really bring the maritime history of this part of Australia to life.

A great experience with Alex the skipper and Mia our guide, she was very knowledgeable and both were friendly and helpful.
We saw dolphins as promised and all the ship wrecks.

River views of Adelaide Enjoyable cruise through industrial areas and dolphin reserve. Staff very personable and knowledgable. The ships grave yard was fascinating as was the mother dolphin swimming with her calf.

We thoroughly enjoyed our ships graveyard & dolphin spotting cruise. We saw a good number of dolphins. Mouse & Pinky are my favorites.
The ships graveyard was really interesting. The information on the screens with photos of how they looked in their prime was great.
Safety was foremost and Alex and Maya did a wonderful job.

Pleasant trip It was pleasant. Unfortunately, did not see any dolphins. My main reason in going. Guide was easygoing and provided lots of interesting facts about Port Adelaide and the ship graveyard. It was beautiful weather so very pleasant out on the water. A different aspect of Adelaide.

I did the dolphin and ship wreck river cruise today and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Captain Jim and guide Alex were both excellent. Alex provided lots of information that was of interest to young & old. He had many great stories about how the area has changed, passing under Birkenhead bridges that open to allow ships to sail under them and how and why there is a cemetery of shipwrecks in the river.
We saw lots of dolphins. Jim made sure that people on both sides could get lots of photos. He let the dolphins come to check out the boat and just frolic in the water and catch fish.
The journey to the shipwrecks meant passing through the history of the port with lots of significant sites still being used.
The wrecks were fascinating and that led to the bird sanctuary area which was populated with grey herons, egrets, cormorants etc. An excellent cruise. Highly recommended.

Left on the dock I can’t give a review of the tour because I was left on the dock. I arrived early and made myself known to the operator. I asked if it would be ok to go to the toilet. This turned out to be very necessary and took longer than I expected. When I arrived back at the dock everyone had left. I attempted to contact the operator but got a recorded message. As I stood on the dock I saw the boat go past. I waved frantically but to no avail. Since then I have tried to contact the company by phone and email, but they will not reply.

Port River Cruise My husband and I are Port Adelaide locals and had been meaning to go on a Port River cruise for some time.
As the weather forecast was for a lovely day and we had time we booked. This process was very easy and the information provided by the company was spot on.
The cruise was fabulous and we saw and learnt things about the Port River that we didn’t already know. Our two young hosts /skipper were professional and friendly.
Definitely a worthwhile tour for visitors to the area. They may have been a little disappointed as we didn’t see any dolphins during the cruise but we can vouch for the fact that we often see dolphins during our walks along the docks.
All in all an enjoyable experience.

Was a great little trip. We were sailing for almost 2 hours, bonus. Great commentary. Also there were two elderly people in wheelchairs and the crew had no problem safety getting them on and off the boat. Saw a few dolphins and the ships graveyard. The latter was very interesting and we got the history of the ships. I would recommend this trip.

Dolphin spotting and ships graveyard This was a great little trip. The captain/guide was most informative. We spotted a few dolphins which was great? They came right beside the boat. The ships graveyard was fascinating, with a good commentary on the history of the vessels. There were also 2 people in wheelchairs which the crew safety brought on and off the boat. Interesting cruise A pleasant and very interesting cruise. Would have rated as 5 star but we only had one brief glimpse of a dolphin; they decided not to cooperate for us! Obviously nature decides when it will perform. However the cruise on the river was good and the ships' graveyard very interesting. Recommended.

Wonderful experience for my partner Susanne & I. The 2 onboard Staff Members were excellent.We felt very safe with the Pilot/ Captain at the wheel. Pod of dolphins The kids loved it as they got to see a good size pod of dolphins and then a couple play on the bow of the tug boat. The ship wrecks were okay but maybe not for kids.

An enjoyable experience Jacob and Alex had a very good knowledge of the area we cruised through, and we were lucky enough to view many dolphins and hear the interesting history of the ships graveyard.
A very enjoyable 90minute cruise, would recommend.

Great Tour An excellent tour although the dolphins didn’t cooperate. The tour operator was very knowledgeable and I enjoyed the relevant information he gave us. He tried so hard to find dolphins for us that we ran more than 30 minutes over. I liked all the wrecks and his narratives. One small area for improvement would be get a Bluetooth speaker and headset for the back because sometimes it was difficult to hear when the speed was up. Well done!!!!

Great way to see the River. My 5 year old grandson and I had a fabulous time! The booking was easy and the boarding was fun. We travellled on 13th October on the smaller boat. Saw about 11 dolphins before we went under the bridge! The crew were very knowledgeable about the River and made everyone feel welcome and comfortable. The time flew by and we had the best time.

Lovely day on the Port What a lovely time we had. Traveling the Port River on a cruise with Port River Cruises. The crew was great and very knowledgeable. Not the greatest of days regarding the weather but we did see a couple of dolphins and many birds. Highly recommended.

Recommend this experience to cruise the Port River Overall a peaceful ride along the port river. managed to be lucky and spot dolphins towards the end of the tour. Guide was engaging and patient in explaining the sights along the river.

NO DOLPHINS WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Arrived on time and the boat was nowhere to be seen, even beforehand we tried ringing to make sure we were at the right location but no answer. It seems they wanted to take the boat out earlier than the booking time so that they could finish their shift early and go home.

Amazing and Informative We had a FANTASTIC time! Andrew was very knowledgeable and a great host. Jim was a talented skipper who made the whole trip smooth. We were worried we wouldnt see any dolphins as that was the main reason for taking my sister on the cruise. Right near the end we found a massive pod, Jim stowed the engines and allowed us all to take happy snaps and videos. Would also like to thank the office staff. Originally I accidentally booked for the 31st of August when the dates refreshed without realising. They called me the day of expecting us to be boarding. I told them the mistake. They were SO kind. They organised the correct date at no charge. Really cant stress how great the team and tour is. Would rate it 10/5 if I could!

We went with our 4 year old toddler. Highly recommended and toddler friendly.
Captain Jim was amazing. We learnt about history, dolphins and birds. We spotted around 15 dolphins , so close ones as well. Our toddler was given the opportunity to sit on captains chair and wear his cap. Also was given a goody bag to play and a lolli as a appreciation gift. For him adelaide is all about dolphins. He could not wait to share the photos and stories with his kinder friends.

We had 3:30 arvo cruise this July. Im telling you because you see how gorgeous the sunset gold ✨️ rays looks. And its perfect if you are into photography. Just a note we were lucky to see loads of dolphins 🐬 🐬 🐬

Highly recommended to families with kids! We had a great time in this Port Adelaide Dolphin Cruise, spotted dolphins way out and back. The two crew gave informative and interesting insights about dolphins, maritime history, the harbour, the boats and the ship graveyard. They also handed out kids gift bags which my kid loved!
We are Adelaide local, and never tried this before. I would encourage locals to experience this adventure and you will be surprised with how much fun you will gain!

Had a nice cruise to see graveyard of boats and dolphins. Boat is clean and is easy to see out from multiple places. Managed to spot 3 dolphins at the end of the tour close to the mooring. We didn't manage to go to the Dolphin sanctuary due to the tides. Consider the tides when booking. The river is very ephemeral.

Amazing experience. Chris and Tim were very friendly and knowledgeable. Was able to spot dolphins a few times along with the closest ever experience in the wild. The ship wrecks took is back to the old times.
