CROCOSAURUS COVE
Crocosaurus Cove, located in the heart of Darwin city, allows visitors a unique, up close and personal view of Australia’s iconic Saltwater Crocodiles.
Bringing together some of the largest Saltwater Crocodiles in Australia & boasting the World’s largest display of Australian reptiles, Crocosaurus Cove is a must see attraction when visiting Darwin and the Top End.
Bring your bathers and “Swim with the Crocs” jump on our “Fishing for Crocs” platform and smile for the camera while holding a baby Saltwater Crocodile. Check out the Barramundi, Archer Fish & Whiprays in our 200,000 litre fresh water aquarium and don’t forget our upstairs Top End Turtle enclosure.
Crocosaurus Cove is also home to the famous, Cage of Death. The only cage in the world that brings you face to face with some of the largest Saltwater Crocodiles in captivity. Go it alone or grab a friend – this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to share the same environment of one of the world’s deadliest predators.
All of this and more awaits you at Darwin’s ultimate urban wildlife experience…right in the heart of Mitchell Street, Darwin City.
ROYAL FLYING DOCTOR SERVICE & BOMBING OF DARWIN HARBOUR TOURIST FACILITY
The first iconic story is the Royal Flying Doctor Service, affectionately known throughout Australia as the RFDS.
Founded by the Reverend John Flynn, it began its aero medical operations in the Northern Territory in 1939.
Using the latest innovations in holographic technology, the hologram of John Flynn is portrayed by an actor who tells the story of Flynn’s vision and its realisation into the RFDS of today.
Experience a decommissioned RFDS Pilatus PC 12 aircraft completely aero medically equipped and learn about the activities of the RFDS’s pilots, engineers, doctors, and nurses, and the experiences of the patients that are carried and cared for each day.
BOMBING OF DARWIN HARBOUR
The second iconic story featured is the Bombing of Darwin on 19th February 1942.
The bombing of the harbour brought destruction to the city of Darwin, and many of the experiences and stories of what happened that day through the most modern and exciting technology.
This new and exciting world-class facility will feature never seen before cutting edge technology – holograms, virtual reality and a projection window of the Japanese air attack on the harbour.
View a life-sized replica Japanese Zero aircraft suspended from the ceiling and the workings of a val bomb.
Rear Admiral Etheridge Grant was the Commanding Officer of the USS William B Preston. Grant was not on board the USS William B Preston at the time of the attack and He was blown into the harbour as he attempted to return to his ship and crew, and spent most of the attack in the water, clinging to a large ship’s buoy. The life size hologram of Grant, narrates his own version of events.
The Virtual Reality transports you back to Darwin Harbour of 1942. You are at the original Stokes Hill Wharf, standing on the deck of the Neptuna as it bombed to the point of it exploding and sinking as well as sitting on the wing of an American Kitty Hawk, engaging in a dogfight with the Japanese Zero’s.
All reservations made online need to visit the Crocosaurus Cove ticket desk to activate and collect your tickets for Crocosaurus Cove and the RFDS Tourist Facility.

time in the Cage of Death experience. I have nothing but good things to say about
Crocosaurus Cove

A friendly welcome. Everything explained to you about the premises and day feeding etc.
One needs to download the map of the place as no longer give out paper copies.
The reptile enclosure, walkthrough was very well spaced with heaps of information on each exhibition.
The highlight was seeing the staff feed the crocodiles. We even had the chance to feed baby crocodiles which was amazing.
A great place to visit. Well worth the money.
Exceptional knowledge of the reptile by the staff

Located in the middle of Darwin, they offer the chance to get up close and personal with salt water crocs, snakes, lizards and more.
The crocs are huge and our guide Tahli was fantastic, she was very knowledgeable and took the time to answer any and all questions.
Unfortunately, the cage of death was booked out so we missed out on that but it did look fun.

The staff are friendly and helpful.
We learnt so much about not only crocodiles, but reptiles and marine animals as well.
and then we did the unique experience of being in the same enclosure as a crocodile, an experience we will never forget. We were lucky enough to order the photographer so we can take the experience home with us.

This place would a be a nice addition in your Darwin trip, if you still have enough time after exploring the natural beauty NT has to offer.

Will definitely return.
I would have loved to hear more about the conservation efforts the organisation is undertaking, there was a noticeable absence of this material.

In the heart of Darwin City this place is a must visit! I still cannot believe that there are so many huge crocodiles in the city centre.. blew my mind!
We got to hold a baby crocodile, a snake, and a blue tongue. There were people swimming with the crocodile in the “Cage of Death”, there are turtles, fish, whiprays, so many reptiles, frogs and not to mention probably hundreds of crocodiles! There is even a swimming pool and a ‘fishing’ platform where you can feed the small crocodiles.
All the staff were super friendly and so knowledgeable. The place is really educational, from all the signage to the presentations and it is well worth the money.
We spent a few hours in here but could easily have spent longer!
Would recommend 100% and hope to visit again one day!

The place was run down and even the main 2.30 show was marred by a microphone that only worked some of the time
I was seriously bored but stuck it out as it cost 80 bucks
I would not be surprised if it closes

For an additional fee you can go into the croc tank.
Good option for a few hours in Darwin.

We also had an amazing experience holding young Phillip the baby croc ????
All staff were extremely knowledgeable and the price $40 for entry seemed reasonable

The staff are knowledgeable and passionate, ensuring everyone has a great time while educating visitors about crocodile conservation.
Whether you're watching them glide through the water or witnessing a feeding frenzy, it's an unforgettable experience. Crocosaurus Cove is a must-visit when in Darwin – where else can you come face-to-face with the largest reptiles on earth?

We particularly loved the reptile exhibit, and the meet the reptile show.

It has big, old croc's, whose stories are much enlivened if you do one of the many, regular, short guided tours. (Make sure to ask about the croc couple, Will & Kate.) There’s also a snake & lizard exhibition that’s well worth doing – and it’s air-conditioned :-) Also a giant fish tank with lots of interesting critters swimming around each other.
Want to hold a small croc? No problem, go to the photography area on the 1st floor in the Reptile House. (Incidentally, that photographer is fun to watch as he deals with the shy & the scared, people trying to clown around, people he effortlessly teaches to do interesting poses for the photo’s, & all while the croc’s are trying to wiggle while being held. Despite everything going on, he produces absolutely terrific pic’s that are amazing & memorable. Top points for photographic competence & for dealing super nicely with people.)
There are un-air-conditioned food options in-house on the first floor, & outside on the ground floor, but there’s an air-conditioned pub opposite with kids’ food & there are other air-conditioned food places very close by that are cooler, so attracted us.

The staff will make you feel very comfortable and I felt completely safe.

Also the young lady that walked us around was very friendly and knowledgeable

The other attractions are worth 1hr before or after.
If in Darwin must do.
