Bridestowe Lavender Farm is the largest lavender farm in Australia, and in full bloom a wonderful sight to see. A fantastic gift shop with a multitude of lavender products and a cafe offering homemade lunches and morning teas. And of course, it is the home for Bobbie The Bear.
During the commercial lavender flowering season – December and January
The shuttles departs Launceston on most days, please check the availability calendar to check what dates and times the shuttle will depart.
It is a 50 – 60 minute drive to Bridestowe.
Most days there will be a morning shuttle, sometimes two.
If demand is great enough there will be an afternoon service.
You get to spend approximately 2.5 hours at the farm, enjoying the facilities, getting in amongst the lavender fields, visiting the shop, cafe and distillery.
Then 50 – 60 minute return to Launceston.
The shuttle requires a minimum of 4 adults to depart.
If minimum numbers are not obtained, passengers may be required to change
their time of departure to ensure the service operates, so passengers may be asked to change to a different shuttle time.
If booking numbers are low and even moving departure times does not meet
minimum numbers, then we will contact you to discuss options.
Pick up and drop off at all centrally located hotels in Launceston.
Alternatively the Launceston Transit Centre in Cimitiere Street will be the default location.
During the commercial lavender non flowering season – February to November
Even though the commercial lavender is not in full bloom, the gardens offer a large selection of other lavender varieties, and there is normally some purple flowers all year round. As well as a vast array of other plants, bulbs and flowers. So even though the commercial rows of lavender are not in full bloom, there is still lots of purple and colour to enjoy and photograph.
During the non flowering season there will be two options available to you;
1. Book a shuttle as above. The shuttle requires minimum 4 people to operate, or
2. If you wish to visit the farm but 2.5 hours at the farm would seem too long, then there is another possible option available. The Bay Of Fires Day Tour visits the lavender farm as its first stop, with the driver giving an interactive talk on the lavender before allowing some free time for photos and to visit the gift shop. All up a 40 minute visit. The Bay of Fires Day Tour departs on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays, and requires minimum 2 people to operate.

Couple of stops on the way before we reached the B of Fires. 1st stop Bridestowe Lavender Farm not flowering season but a chance to check out the gift shop & tour guide/driver talked briefly about different types of lavenders. Stop 2 Scottsdale to buy lunch & legs stretch. Stop 3 brief walk in rainforest and talk about trees. B of Fires Fantastic bays, beaches and small seaside towns and yummy oysters. Wonderful driver, David, is full of knowledge and stories about Tasmania.
Highly recommend this tour operator.

The stop off at the oyster farm was wonderful as the oysters were so fresh. Bingalong Bay was beautiful. It was a great lunch stop with time to walk along the beach enjoying the beautiful white sand and views. There was plenty of time for photo opportunities of the orange lichens covered granite rocks. A truly wonderful day trip with some great photos and memories. Not to be missed, and definitely recommend.

Dave is a true Launceston local and you knew it would be enjoyable hearing from someone who wants to deliver the best service you can experienced from a local! He was very passionate in sharing his knowledge and good tips around the area. He delivered good commentary along the way - the history, geography and culture in the region. We got more than what we asked for!
Bridestowe Lavender Farm was elegant and picturesque. Lots of things to do and enjoy at the farm such as the introductory tour of how lavender oil is produced. Definitely must try the blueberries Jam infused with lavender scent Scones and lavender infused ice-cream! Definitely pick up some souvenirs from the farm as well which is unique and thoughtful!

Even only me & my husband, David is still very accommodating, our tour fee is very reasonable and very quick response when discuss about the tour.
David is knowledgeable, we learnt a lot about Tasmania from him. Highly recommended his tour!!!!
