Great river cruise for the family. Enjoyed some snacks and drinks as we listened to the amazing tour guide. Very funny and informative captain and tour guide. Would highly recommend, we booked the shorter tour due to the kids, could have gone on a longer one. The kids really enjoyed getting a chance to be captains and to sit in the captains chair.

Sunset cruise was great. Commentary almost the whole way with drinks available including cocktails. Peter and Holly make a great pair with interesting stories about the milllionaire house on the canals, Also got to see two of Clive Palmer’s boats. Highly recommended - best 90min cruise ever.

Great experience. I chose this cruise as travelling with my mum and wanted something not too crazy and that didn’t involve walking! It was perfect, 10 minute stroll to the boat from our hotel on the esplanade, easy check in at kiosk then boarded 15 minutes before we headed off on a leisurely tour of the waterways. Tea/coffee/chocolate and cakes/biscuits were included and just right for our morning snack. They also have some other items to purchase and a cocktail menu if you’re in a more lively mood. The captain Pete gave a very informative and entertaining run down of the houses and areas we were passing which added a bit of fun and It helped me get my bearings, this lead us to visit HOTA the next day which also turned out to be another morning out. There is lots of seating so no need to rush to get to the front of the queue, would definitely recommend to any visitors old or new, I’ve been to the Surfers Paradise a few times but it gave me a different view which I really enjoyed and was ideal for a first time visitor like my mum. Absolutely loved it and great value for money, so much so that we booked a second trip at the end of our holiday to do it all over again. The crew were very friendly and we highly recommend the snow cones (best ones ever!) and the extra touch of snacks on the afternoon cruise was very nice. Very cool that my son got to drive the boat and great amusing commentaries. Thank you, we will be back next time we're in Australia!

The river cruise was lovely, a very pleasant morning out to see the fabulous properties and Gold Coast city back drop to die for. Running commentary, tea, coffee, biscuits, cakes and sunshine what more could you ask for at a very reasonable price… Remember to duck when going under those overhead bridges. A lovely trip for all ages.

Morning Tea Cruise 5 of us enjoyed our morning cruise. Excellent staff, wonderful views, interesting commentary and morning tea to enjoy. 1.5 hours went very quickly.

Can't do this justice with words, I took my partner for her 35th birthday on the sunset cruise and it was a remarkable experience. We were blessed with a full moon, a gorgeous sunset and we even saw two eagles eating fish they had caught. The captain was absolutely hilarious and so informative, using dry humour to point out some of the interesting facts surrounding the estates along the water. I particularly enjoyed hearing about the owners, visitors and the history of the estates. He was also really great at describing where/how to look and I didn't miss any of the highlights. He also pointed out anything unique and noteworthy, describing in wonderful detail what was occurring, like the talons of the eagles tearing their food. This is a family owned small business which really makes you feel like you are in QLD and on holiday. They play chilled music which was a perfect volume. Thank you so much for this experience, I am an extremely popular boyfriend and I don't think I have ever pulled off a birthday surprise as good. My only concern is what I will do next year.

Beautiful day for a cruise We had such a lovely time on this river cruise. It was super relaxing and laid back. Was such a great way to spend time as a couple. The weather was so gorgeous and we learnt so much.

We took the 10:30 am cruise on 1st August 2025, with Surfers Paradise River Cruises.

It was an amazing Cruise with some of the most beautiful views of the surfers paradise.

Captain Jason and the tallish lady with short hair who managed everything (sorry, can't remember the name) were amazing.

Everything from check in to boarding and the entire cruise was very well organised. This Cruise offers a double deck boat, with plenty of comfortable padded seating areas.

The 90 minute cruise had a relaxed, very enjoyable pace. It wasn't rushed. Fruit cake, Lamington, scotch finger biscuits, tea & coffee etc were also provided.

They operate four cruises daily, which is very handy for visitors. Highly recommended.

Booked a Surfers Paradise River Cruise on a whim, and I'm so glad I did. The 90-minute morning cruise was so informative, yet relaxing. Captain Pete is a hoot. There's plenty of seating. Bring a hat as you'll want to see all the rich and famous mansions from top deck. Recommended for all ages.

Our morning cruise with Surfers Paradise River Cruises was undoubtedly the highlight of our recent Gold Coast holiday. In the first hour of the cruise we enjoyed tea, coffee and a yummy morning tea. We also had a cheeky strawberry daiquiri in the second hour of the cruise. Delicious! Our captain was entertaining and very knowledgeable of the local sights. Everyone we dealt with was friendly and helpful. A great cruise at a very reasonable price and very comfortable seats. We definitely want to do the sunset cruise and the city lights cruise sometime soon. Thanks for a great morning.

What a wonderful way to experience the river and canal system and to see the amazing houses (how the other half live). The captain and his assistant made it a really enjoyable experience. We were very impressed when he took a detour to retrieve a plastic bag from the river. A lovely caring family run company

Very peaceful ride through the channels. Food and beverages were nice. Commentary informative but could have been louder. Nice way to spend a few hours out of the heat .

Disappointed Great night boat trip, but it did say there would be a commentary THERE WAS NOT. It did say there was a drink and some nibbles. THERE WAS NOT. Very disappointed

Beautiful experience! The Gold Coast City Lights Tour was one of the many highlights of our trip. The City Lights were very pretty with some amazing opportunities for some nice photos.

We booked the 10.30 cruise, it was pouring with rain in the morning but thankfully weather cleared just in time.

A sunset cruise in the rain A very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The weather was wet and windy, but we still had a great time. Would have been good to know who owns the mansions being pointed out, but I guess privacy precludes this. Overall very good value for money.

Wouldn’t purchase again. Wouldn’t give a refund when it was pouring freezing rain outside. Definitely wouldn’t book with this company again. There should be exceptions made during horrible weather or the possibility of switching to a different day.

Best family activity at the Gold coast One of the best experiences we had on the Gold Coast! Captain Pete, Abby, and Cecelia were amazing. They made us feel welcome, comfortable and ensured we had a wonderful time during the incredible night cruise. Pete’s wealth of knowledge and experience was impressive, and my children absolutely loved him. This will be a must-do whenever visiting the Gold Coast.

We went on a city lights cruise, and it was the best decision we made. The views were spectacular, our host was great, and on top of that, we got to see a full moon. We will definitely book again in the future.

We went on the river cruise 2pm today and yesterday (once without kids and once with).
Enjoyed it both times.
Without kids: we were able to relax and unwind in the lower indoor area with the captain and close to the bar where we enjoyed very well priced and delicious cocktails!
The experience was amazing as well as the views and information.
With kids: adults enjoyed some cocktails while the kids felt apart of it with their mocktails. They also enjoyed some snow cones.
They enjoyed speaking with the captain and having a turn at driving the boat. They enjoyed this so much and said it was the best part of our holiday.

We had a great experience, all staff go out of their way to make sure that the experience is memorable. Not crowded and a really enjoyable cruise for our whole family including kids. The kids enjoyed steering the boat as well! This river cruise offers personalised good quality service. Definitely worth doing whilst visiting Surfers Paradise!

Sunset Cruise This is a very basic tour with little to no crew interaction. The ‘buffet’ food was crackers cubes of cheese grapes olives and salami. Guess you get what you pay for. The commentary of the sites was pre recorded and dry. The bar was ok and the initial customer interaction on booking very friendly and helpful. Just needs a bit of a revamp! Very dated!

A relaxing day out We had the best weather for the cruise, the staff were very friendly and had good knowledge of the area. It was a very relaxing ride and good value $$ would definitely recommend.

Relaxing and wonderful experience. I’d highly recommend it. We did the sunset cruise and saw the most beautiful colours and lighting.

The host on board was attentive and helpful in taking photos with you at particular photographic points. The snacks and my mocktail were delicious.

Going under the bridges was an unexpected and fun experience :) The views and perspective you get of the Gold Coast are eye opening and gorgeous. As a local, can’t believe I took so long to do this. I appreciated the fun facts they shared about various points of the Gold Coast.

Enjoyed this with my friend and we had a very relaxing time. I’m keen to do another cruise with them at another time of day and see the beautiful river and canals in different light. Thank you for great ease into the evening, looking forward to next time.

Nicole and Abby were amazing hosts looking after my friends and I. Nicole’s bubbly personality made the cruise experience even more enjoyable. She went above and beyond talking to us on the top deck and continuously offering to take photos for all the passengers. It was a really nice time and I’ll definitely book again when I’m back in SP!

Captain MJ's Tales Along the Riverbanks Surfers Paradise River Cruises was an absolute delight! From the moment we arrived, Tarn greeted us with a warm smile and efficiently handled our booking at the check-in. Her friendly demeanour set the tone for the excursion, making us feel instantly at ease.

Once aboard, Lou welcomed us with open arms, taking care of us with a smile. It was a pleasant surprise to learn that Lou was a fellow Kiwi, hailing from just 2 kilometres away from our home in Auckland. This connection added an extra layer of warmth and familiarity to the journey, making us feel right at home.

As we settled in, Captain MJ took the helm, providing expert commentary that enriched our understanding of the landmarks and history along the Nerang River and Gold Coast Broadwater.

As we cruised, Lou made sure my wife and I were well taken care of, offering a variety of refreshing drinks and delicious nibbles. While I took on the responsibility of driving, my wife indulged (graciously!) in a couple of strawberry daiquiris, adding an extra layer of enjoyment (giggles!) to our leisurely journey. Lou's attentive service ensured that we could both fully relax and savor every moment of the cruise.

The afternoon river cruise exceeded our expectations, thanks to the exceptional hospitality of Tarn, Lou, and Captain MJ. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Gold Coast.

What a great tour! A relaxing, smooth ride, with informative commentary and excellent hosting by Nicole and Louise who couldn't do enough for the guests. Our family enjoyed the great views, the rooftop ride and seeing the river side of the GC (& the cheap cocktails went down a treat!). Definitely recommend this tour.

Booked in on the Gold Coast City Lights Cruise on Australia Day and we were treated to front-row seats of the Fireworks display on the river! The staff and Captain were very friendly and knowledgeable. Drinks were well priced too! I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Surfers Paradise.

What a great way to see the Gold Coast lights on a quiet casual cruise through the canals. Finger food hit the spot with the very reasonably priced drinks.
