Duration:

4h
Join us on a walk along a creek and see where playful Platypus live.

An Enchanting Dawn Adventure

While these elusive creatures can be spotted throughout the day, the magical moments just after dawn offer our absolute best chance to witness them in their natural habitat. 🌅

Your journey begins with a comfortable pick-up from your Byron Bay accommodation. We will travel in style in either our cosy eight-seater hybrid vehicle or our spacious 12-seater bus, depending on our group size, heading straight to a special, secluded platypus habitat.

Guided Creek Walk & Wildlife Spotting

Embark on an easy, gentle 90-minute walk along the tranquil creek. Your expert guide will lead the way, sharing fascinating insights into the quirky lives of these beloved Australian animals and teaching you exactly how to spot them. Along the way, we often encounter vibrant birdlife and even the occasional sleepy koala! 🐨

A Delightful Creekside Picnic

After watching the platypus enjoy their morning routine, it is time for us to relax and enjoy ours. Savour a delicious picnic breakfast right by the water’s edge before we make our way back to Byron Bay. 🧺

Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements when you book.

Our Sighting Promise

We can’t guarantee Platypus sightings on this tour, but don’t worry, if we don’t see them, we take you on another day, free!

Thank you for booking on our award winning eco tours.

We will contact you by 4pm the day before your tour, to confirm your exact pick up time.

Please wear covered shoes, and bring water.

Please sign our liability waiver and let us know if you have any medical conditions we need to know. Sign Digital Waiver

Wildlife Checklist App

We have created a new Wildlife Checklist App so that you can tick off wildlife that you see on your epic journey.

  • Apple App store (currently not available in the EU but we are working on it)
  • Google Play Store

Do you want a tree planting with that?

When you come on a Vision Walks tour, you’re not just spotting koalas, wandering rainforest tracks, or cruising the hinterland with a bunch of fellow nature lovers. You’re also helping us put trees back where they belong — in the ground, growing like mad, feeding wildlife, and locking away carbon. Here is some more info on our tree planting programme.
