We were super fortunate to head out and see these whales in action! The whole experience was awesome from start to finish. You could really tell the crew were experienced and went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt comfortable. Seeing the whales was an absolute bonus, but what made the trip truly special was learning about their behaviour and hearing all the fun facts Blake shared along the way. It was one of those experiences that would have been worthwhile even if we hadn’t seen any whales at all.

We’ve learnt some fun facts about whales, got a wave from a calf and saw a mum nearby 🤩. Great activity for a date or a fun day out with friends. Incredible day on the ocean today with Tane and Sean. Thank you for a wonderful experience. The whales were beautiful. We saw Mum and calf of two separate families, active and breaching all the time. It was so amazing. They were close within about 100 m and we were very respectful of their space and migration South. Excellent trip!

A group of four whales were just hanging out and we had two close encounters. Within a few metres of the boat one massive beast was standing its flippers out of the water and spy holing. Fantastic experience.

Went out on the OSPREY with Leah and Martin yesterday for a whale-watching tour, and it was absolutely unbelievable! 🐋 😭

Leah shared so many fascinating facts about the whales, and together with Martin, they coordinated with other boats to find the best spots—so we got to see pods breaching, fin slapping, and just playing in the water. Every moment was just magical! 🥹

The OSPREY is a larger boat with seats and a roof, making it spacious and comfortable, while still giving us those thrilling bursts of speed (so much fun!). We ended up returning to shore a little later than planned because we were completely captivated by an incredible gathering of whales—totally worth it! 🐋🐋🐋🐋🐋

We had an absolutely amazing time on our whale watching trip! 🌊🐋 Not only did we have the incredible opportunity to actually see whales up close, but the whole experience was made even better by our two wonderful skippers. They were so passionate and enthusiastic, sharing lots of fascinating facts and insights about these majestic animals.

We had an amazing day out with Ocean Extreme, really recommend the Orca boat as a super fun and fast experience with a small group of people. Cassie was very knowledgeable on the whales and we were lucky with great weather and lots of whales. If you’re keen to see the humpback highway, definitely go with this team!

The real question is do people come to see the whales or meet Sean? This was my third trip with Ocean Extreme, on the first two occasions we saw very little of the whales however this trip we were very lucky - they stuck around our boat for around an hour and were very curious - we even had a breach. A great couple of hours out on the water whether or not you get to see them showing off. Thanks to Sean and the team for your hospitality as always.

100% recommend! Everything was perfect! We didn’t see whales on our first trip, but the crew warned us that the waves were big and offered us the option to reschedule. They also told us that if we decided to go and didn’t see any whales, we could come back again for free. I enjoy a bit of adventure, and even with the waves it was fun. They provided jackets to keep us warm.
On our second attempt, the weather was beautiful and we saw around six different whales. The experience was truly unforgettable! The crew was amazing—very friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer all our questions.

Once in a lifetime opportunity to see Humpback Whales off Sydney! Exceptional trip to view Humpback Whales migrating past Sydney. After seeing a lone whale, we were lucky to find an active pod of four whales. It was an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Oh, and it also included views of Sydney, and the famous Opera House, from the Harbour as we were going into and out of the Tasman Sea. Our captain, Blake, was a skilled and knowledgeable guide with Ocean Extreme. The only thing we did not get to see was a full breach (leap out othe water), as shown in the photo. These only happen one out of three trips, according to the guide.

Had an incredible time( with Mom) with Ocean Extreme! The staff were super experienced and calm, made us feel safe the whole way. We were also lucky to have a super sunny day, so don’t forget sunscreen. It was windy out, but the windshields worked great. The whole trip was a TOTALLY worth it one.

We thoroughly enjoyed whale watching with Ocean Extreme. We were very lucky to see 2 whales fully breaching - although seeing whales fully breaching is not guaranteed when whale watching. Add to your bucket list! Awesome adventure. Fantastic experience, we got to see two whales travelling together. Loads of tail and fin slapping on the surface. Weather at 11am was reasonably calm. Both Paul and Martin were excellent guide/Captain and we learnt lots of information. Great day out!

AMAZING!! Boats are modern and quick…we got out to the whales in no time. As we watched two humpbacks do some nice flute dives, our guide spotted two whales breaching, so we heading off to see them. We must have seen 50 full breaches!!! Just awesome!! They smacked their pectoral fins, and lept high so many times!! Just wonderful. Our guide, Kathy, was super nice and knowledgeable…given the “show” was so spectacular, she stayed out longer than the allotted time. Wonderful afternoon!!!

Phenomenal whale tour My partner and I had a phenomenal experience with Ocean Extreme. The online booking process was a breeze and Dion was very helpful with booking queries. We took the Osprey Boat from Circular Quay with Martin and Paul - they were both professional, knowledgeable & very friendly. The boat was small providing an intimate experience without the crowds, but also extremely fast so that you could find and go between whale pods very quickly. They also provided wind-proof jackets. We were extremely lucky to see 6 humpbacks, common dolphins & sea birds. The humpbacks we saw graced us with non-stop breaches - we’ve never seen anything like it! We appreciated receiving photos of the whales we saw. We highly recommend this company and will definitely be returning for more whale watching tours.

Unforgettable Experience Our boat trip to see the whales was an amazing experience that we won’t forget! Everything was well thought through - they gave us jackets on arrival that kept us warm when we ventured out to sea. The journey was sometimes bumpy but we felt safe the whole time. We came across three different pods of whales and cruised alongside them. We even saw a whale breaching! Our guide, Blake, was great at spotting the whales and getting us in prime position. Whilst we waited for the whales to surface, he told us some very interesting information. In total we saw around 6-8 different whales. Highly recommended!

I was recommended Ocean Extreme by a friend. She did her research, and went on a couple of other tours but said these guys were the best in Sydney and she’s right. She didn’t see whales on her first tour but did on her second free one because of their “whale sighting guaranteed” policy.

My family and I went on the 8am Extreme boat with Blake. It was a beautifully clear day and we managed to find 3 pods of whales, one of which was very active. We got to see 3 breaches and there were plenty of tail flips. Had a fantastic time, it was a phenomenal experience! Might come back and do it again next year.

A must do if you are here during the migration season. We had heaps of fun riding in their vessel - Extreme at speeds above 40knots (I’m guessing here). We spotted a pair of humpback whales during our 8am sailing. There were tail flips but no whale breach 😅 nonetheless it was an unforgettable experience coming so close to the humpbacks.

Get on the boat with Blake I didn't know what to expect. I thought, "well if I see one whale and get a picture, that'll be worth it". HOLY HANNAH! Once we got out of the bay and into more open water, WE WERE SURROUNDED. Saw and stayed with 4 pods, a female and her calf sometimes accompanied by an additional adult female. The calves were especially active and several times completely leapt out of the water. Our guide/boat captain/owner of this small company, Blake, is a whale whisperer. The funniest thing I remember from the trip was Blake kind of saying under his breath "Damn, it's so much more difficult when there are so many whales around ". I couldn't stop laughing. Oh, and here's a bonus .we were contacted/escorted by about 12 dolphins that were coming right up to and swimming under our boat. You have to do this tour.

Incredible!! The most incredible experience whale watching. We spotted a mother and baby humpback whale very early into our searching and the baby treated us by breaching at least 6 times during our tour.

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and experienced out on the seas. Despite the conditions being a bit choppy our guide was able to bring us in and out of the harbour (at speed!) comfortably whilst it still being a thrilling experience.

Speedboat and whale watching The speedboat ride alone was really fun. Guides are great at finding whales. Great activity to do while in Sydney that just takes 2-3 hours.

Amazing experience It was amazing experiences. I liked Orca boat which is suitable only for 12 people. It was stable on the ocean and we had a good view and capitan told us many interesting infos about whales. And we saw whales - mother with baby 🤩

This is THE ONLY valid option to experience whale watching in Sydney, because this company is amazing! Do not take in consideration other companies because they are a waste of money and time. Ocean Extreme is fantastic, the boats are not too big so you can actually go closer to the whales and enjoy the Australian waves! The guy explained a lot about the whales and he was friendly and kind. The experience was great and I totally recommend doing the whale watching with Ocean Extreme. I took beautiful videos but can’t upload them here.

It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. We had a great view of humpback whales tail-slapping, and swimming towards our boat.

2 hours time was just right, we had plenty of time to spot and follow the whales without being rushed.

Manly on a rib with unfeasible amounts of thrust sitting on bows and enjoyed bouncing over the swell. At sea saw a pod of three humpbacks which we followed for an hour or so - magical. Recommended - but not if you get seasick or don’t like wind (and sea spray) in your hair.

Brilliant whale watching experience My girlfriend and I did this tour together in October. There was a large pod just outside the mouth of the harbour and many more further out!
The tour was incredible and definitely worth it. The experience of our guide Blake really showed, he was able to get us in great positions to view the whales and even spotted a pair of large sea Eagles on the way back into the harbour!

Another great voyage with the Ocean Extreme team. They have a unique blend of wonderful team members who are skilled mariners, safely navigating the sometimes crazy Tasman Sea. They have a fondness for the whales and regale us with tidbits of information while we wait for the whales to surface again, keeping us entertained throughout the voyage. Their small boats mean we are closer to the water for the best views, and they are uniquely equipped to move from place to place when whale activity is seen. Worth it! It was great to be out on the water and we saw a lot of whales! Six in fact. Our boat driver and guide was very helpful and did a nice job. Did not get wet, the provided wind breaker was comfortable and helpful. Consider sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.

Whale watching After having this experience cancelled twice in two years due to inclement weather, we had our fingers crossed for the day to go ahead. A knowledgeable and experienced skipper guided us through the Sydney Heads from Manly and out into the Tasman Sea. We tracked two whales travelling north in search of warmer waters. Managed to get in close to take photos but my photos don’t do these amazing creatures justice. Thankfully, Ocean Extreme sent me photos taken by the skipper who had a long-lensed camera. An awesome day on the ocean - highly recommended.

If you want to go out to sea (no pun intended) with professionals who know what they’re doing, where to go to see these whales and have so much useful knowledge about whales - Ocean Extreme is the absolute best! We went on the smaller and faster of these speed boats with Tane at the wheel and in charge of our fun and safety. Tane was amazing- He was so patient and really wanting us to receive a great experience from our 2pm booking, he even stayed out longer, sow we could have the ultimate experience. We ended our tour, seeing a whale breach the water! (Photo enclosed). It was so good. I would also like to thank Ocean Extreme for the extra jackets, I brought a jacket, but having the extra jacket from them on, kept me definitely warm! I am going to bring my tourist family members to this experience as they will love it! Book it in and have this experience with Ocean Extreme asap as they fill up fast too. Happy whale watching!

Incredible trip of a lifetime whale watching at its finest! My daughter kindly arranged this whale watching experience whilst I was visiting Sydney. From start to finish this was one of the most memorable experiences I have ever done. The skipper was excellent very knowledgeable and we felt totally safe under his captaincy. The boat was roomy and comfortable. We headed out of Sydney harbour and the views were impressive. Once out in the seas it was thrilling waiting to see the incredible Humpbacks and boy did we see them absolutely amazing site to see them breach high up in the air and splash down so close to us. Outstanding whale watching trip from Manly Friday's whale-watching trip with Ocean Extreme was the BEST and most exciting whale watching excursion I have ever done. We must have seen >50 whale breaches. Being at water-level in the zodiac boat made it more spectacular We were able to manouvre very quickly to where the whales were. As soon as I finished i thought about other family and friends that I can buy this trip for as a present. Can't wait to go again ! The guide was excellent.

An Unforgettable Journey Very memorable and exciting adventure with lots of beautiful whale sightings. The staff was very attentive to us and every passenger was taken care of while watching. Expectations were EXCEEDED! Absolute confidence in Captain Blake's expertise, knowledge & finding Whales! The ride was exhilarating! We searched the sea for telltale blows! There they were 3 then another 3! Double-breach, breaches, pec waves, fluking, blows and the MUGGINGS! Thrilling! The sound of the Humpback blowing! Only 6feet away & as we were on Extreme II even closer! We saw pods of Dolphins, riding our wake, jumping! Also, some Minkie Whales .I'm planning ANOTHER trip it was so BRILLIANT, Impressive & Amazing!

Worth the wait! Blake was an terrific tour guide! In spite of his efforts, we hadn’t found any whales for the first 1.5 hours. Though our group enjoyed the amazing harbor views and watching the dolphins play in the wake, he was clearly disappointed when we had to head back without seeing any whales. He was professional and courteous and had just begun to explain the guaranteed whale sighting rebooking procedures when whales were spotted straight ahead. We sped off and were rewarded with a magical experience of multiple breaches (including a double breach!), lots of surface activity, and curious whales that swam past our boat! Thank you, Blake!!!
