Yalumba! Perfect start in Barossa Valley Bec greeted our group with an enthusiastic smile and energy. So welcoming! Provided a thorough history of the winery and then off to the tasting.
Loved that there was a wide selection and as couples we chose to try different wines. Thus really got to sample 10 rather than just 6 (since we shared). Shiraz was delish, and was surprised how much we liked the whites!

Beautiful old winery. We did a picnic (luxury escapes) and it was great. The tasting room is stunning esp when they have the open fire going.

Wonderful experience!
My wife and I booked in for a $120 tour each and were extremely happy with the terrific, knowledgeable guide who took us around the estate explaining the history of Yalumba. The Cooperage (wine barrel making) was exceptional with a personal explanation of the stages involved in barrel making by a highly skilled and informative cooper.
We also had a notable visit to the Signature wines area and the amazing old wine storage tanks which have been repurposed.
Concluding the tour was a gourmet food platter accompanied by many samples of Yalumba's wines. As much driving was still to be done in the day, we declined the wine sampling but were provided with our choice of soft drinks to enjoy.
Wonderful value for money and a most memorable experience.

We had such a wonderful experience at Yalumba. The heritage and atmosphere of the estate were beautiful, and the wine tasting itself was exceptional. The staff were so welcoming and knowledgeable, guiding us through each wine and sharing the history behind it in a way that was engaging and easy to follow. Every wine we tried was high quality, with standouts that impressed our whole group — so much so that we ended up buying bottles to take home! Between the world-class wines, stunning location, and warm hospitality, Yalumba is truly a must-do when visiting the Barossa Valley. 🥂😃😁

What an amazing tour! We did a tour last wknd. It was a group of 10 of us. It was absolutely fabulous. Jess was really patient with our group and her passion and pride of Yalumba, its history and significance to Australian winemaking really came through. It was educational and insightful. The buildings are beautiful, the stories are interesting and the way the family has respected the history and its importance within the Barossa is great to see. Oh, and the wine is great too! Highly recommended.

Wine tasting in Eden Valley Excellent wine tasting in a superb location. Staff were very friendly. Well worth a visit for wine lovers and those who just like beautiful locations.
In addition to wine tasting you may wish to pay a visit to the cooperage warehouse on location.

Great winery. We went in the winter so it was not at all crowded. But, the Grenache and Shiraz options were excellent and the staff told us much about the history of the vineyard and their method.

Helen has hosted an incredible The Signature Tour for us at Yalumba Winery on May 11. We toured the stunning Signature Vineyard, Yalumba Cooperage, Family Tasting Room, Estate Grounds, Signature Cellar, converted fermentation Tanks 11 & 12 (now a function area), and the Hill-Smith family’s private wine collection museum. The Cooperage was eye-opening, showing how wine barrels are crafted from scratch. The private wine collection museum blew our minds with its huge, impressive range of wines. Tasting Yalumba’s iconic wines, including The Signature Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz, was a highlight. We all loved every moment. Highly recommend this tour for a memorable winery experience.

Avoid the wine tasting, near revolting wines.The site is gorgeous and service was friendly. But get your tasting at the many other wineries in Barossa.

If big wineries is what you're after, highly recommend Seppeltsfield and Chateau Tanunga.

Highly recommend the Rare and Fine Wine Flight tasting — refined wines and rich history. The staff were knowledgeable, approachable, and overall, our experience was incredible. The platter was spot on, and the kids were welcomed, which made it a great experience.

An absolute pleasure! What a wonderful way to do a wine tasting! Under the vine covered veranda, with a cool breeze and accommodating staff ensuring that everything was perfect. The wine was sensational and the platter was stunning.

The grounds are lovely and well maintained. The service is good but didn’t feel a as personal as some of the other wineries. We did three different flights but the wine was not to our liking. I think the reds were marginally better.

One of the most beautiful wineries I have been to. The gardens and buildings are so lovely and the wine is good. We participated in the $10 wine tasting each, only to be told later that it was $15, but redeemable with two bottles of wine. We felt pressured to purchase the two bottles of wine by one staff member.

We visited for a wine tasting, and it was a lovely place. The tasting area was well-designed and enjoyable. We tried some great wines and learned amazing facts about their oldest wines.

Yalumba is known as Australia’s most historic family owned winery, that was established in the mid 1800’s. They have an extensive line up of wines from whites, reds through to some very popular fortified’s.

The grounds are beautifully set and are a perfect place to take some time out to relax. You can choose from a variety of flight tastings depending on your tastes.

I would recommend this as a destination if you visiting the Barossa Valley.

A Fascinating & Magnificent in guided tour. Then we drove to Yalumba Wine Estate 40 Eden Valley Rd, Angaston SA where we toured the grounds of the 175 year old 5th Generation estate
It was the day before they were having a huge Anniversary Celebration so we went on an Unguided Tour throughout the Estate which we found fascinating & magnificent.

Excellent customer service. Tried 2 x wine flights. Fee is wavied if a bottle is purchased. Oldest winery in Australia, celebrating 175 years in 2024. There are many options for accomodation and ground tours. Beautiful old buildings. Make their own wine barrels, only winery in Southern Hemisphere to do this.

Great visit! Beautiful place, great wine and lovely staff ready to assist. It was a nice day so we were able to take a leisurely walk around the grounds. Loved the wine tasting and charcuterie board - it was certainly more than enough for two people for lunch. Great day!

We booked the cooperage experience which is amazing, you get to know the process of how to make oak barrels. Kym the cooper is very knowledgable, love how he describes the tools and everything! Daniel is very friendly and knowledgable about the wines, personal fav is the Viognier!

Final stop of the day and in my opinion, the best stop of the day. This is still a family owned business and I understand that it is the largest family owned vineyard in Australia. The grounds are not as vast as Seppeltsfield Winery but does not lose out in terms of the ambience. It gave me the impression of stepping into a home of a landowner with a very nice casual patio and intimate cosy tasting room indoor. Started off with the intent to do two flights - Best of Barossa tasting flight and Yalumba Rare and Fine tasting flight. Started with the Best of Barossa flight and at the end, decided to forgo the other flight as can feel the effects of the Bold Reds and I am the only driver. The Vine Vale Grenache is exceptional. One of the best Grenache I have drank so far. I was expecting something light (my impression of Grenache) but this is plush and bursting with flavors. The Eden Valley Syrah is a typical Shiraz, nothing that surprised me. But the next two - the Paradox as well as the FDR1A Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz blend are really really good. Another two exceptional bottles. Interesting to note that the Grenache and Paradox are from the valley floor (lower grounds of Barossa) whereas the Eden Valley Syrah and FDR1A are from Eden Valley. Accordingly to the sommelier, valley floor wines tends to be more robust and full bodied as it is hot day and night whereas wines from the upper Eden Valley tends to be more delicate and light-medium bodied as the grapes has time to take a breather from the heat at night where the cooler breeze comes in. Very good tasting experience.

This was a perfect stop choice on our Wine Hopper visit to Barossa Valley. The option for a flight of White or Red Wines blended extraordinarily well with the palates of our group. The charcutier plate of cheeses, olives, crackers and thinly sliced prosciutto was a delightful complement to our wines.

The Wine Hopper option is the best value for your day in Barossa Valley and Yolumba is a visually appealing and taste bud treat you will not want to miss.

Great to Visit one of the Grand Old Ladies of the Barossa! We loved our visit to Yalumba. The large, old and characterful cellar door was impressive and we enjoyed a set of excellent, full bodied reds that were really delicious! We also enjoyed a wander around the expansive set of heritage buildings and gardens. Finally, a big thank you to our host, Batesy, who was very friendly and helpful.

We recently took the 'Yalumba Unlocked' experience. Even though, it was a last mintute booking, they honoured the request and we were given almost a Private tour by Helen. She was amazing at showing us the Cooperage and answering our endless questions. It was a beautiful experience to see the history behind this amazing Family owned Winery. The tour was followed by tasting few of the finest wines accompanied by a tasty cheese platter. Definitely recommend for a more personal experience of the Winery and to get a glimpse of the family's story!

Great day out. We arrived with a welcome greeting and our table was ready for some wine tasting. Even though we didn’t like the reds as much as whites. All wines are great and the waitress was very informative on the wine we were drinking at the time. The small cheese platter was great as extra $30 and the gardens are beautiful. We enjoyed ourselves 100%

Yalumba is a beautiful old vineyard, who also make and sell barrels. It’s an interesting experience to see how barrels are made. Highly recommended the tour to see how barrels are made and see the history of Yalumba.

If you're in the area, definitely stop by. I took my partner here for a tasting experience for her 30th birthday and was not disappointed. The hosts were accommodating and professional. The selection of fine wines was nothing but delicious. The picnic they also provided was enjoyed with not a crumb left and the stunning architecture made the experience even better.

An amazing experience Thank you Amy for your knowledge and enthusiasm about Yalumba Winery and it’s history. Going to the on-site cooperage and meeting Kym and Harper was an excellent experience. Seeing what goes into making wine barrels and talking to Kym was an education. The wine tasting and food platter after the tour just topped everything off. We would heartily recommend the experience.

Great service and beautiful amenities. The wine testing cards are very useful and provided a different experience to any other winery at the Barossa. We were served by Amy, she was very helpful and special with us!

Had the most amazing tour experience at Yalumba Unlocked! As a novice to SA and the amazing cellars that are available, Yalumba was definitely the right choice!

We were met with a glass of our choice prior to the start of the tour. Then our tour guide, the marvellous Tracey, started what was to be an incredible historical journey through the buildings, grounds and the family that is Yalumba.

The cooperage was fascinating and something we previously knew nothing about! I’m still stunned at the length of time it takes to make a barrel! This was followed by a visit to the Signature Cellar containing all the famous Yalumba barrels. The most interesting part of the tour for me was standing in Tanks 11 & 12! Hard to fathom we were standing in what was once a huge concrete tank of wine!!

Want better way to finish off the experience than with the best wine tasting ever complimented with a platter filled with all things yum!

The wine selection for the tasting was great! We even got a Tawny at the end to finish it all off!!

The Yalumba Unlocked experience is certainly value for money, as well as being a great touristy adventure.

Fabulous tour and tasting at Yalumba We thoroughly enjoyed our very informative tour today with Helen. The tour of the cooperage and the rest of Yalumba we would highly recommend and the tour ended back in the wine room with a tasting flight of 4 wines and a platter of delicious bread, crackers, cheeses, olives, ham etc. We finished by tasting the port and dessert wine. We also joined the Yalumba wine club and ordered wines to be shipped home to Queensland :) if you are in the Barossa dont miss this impressive family winery.

Fabulous Grenache Nursery Tour at Yalumba This was a great experience starting with the visit to the nursery where Fred gave us a fabulous insight into all things root stock related. Onto a frollick through the vines with a couple of delicious tastings, followed by a visit to the Cooperage so interesting to see this live, then finishing off with our final tasting coupled with a gourmet platter in the main building. We stayed ion for a few hours drinking wine with our new found friends who were also booked on the tour. Many thanks to Steph our tour director, Ben our driver and Fred our Nursery expert. Highly recommend this tour if you want to see the journey of wine from planting to drinking. We loved it!

History with Quality I booked the Caley vertical. It’s origin is steeped in family history which was brilliantly articulated by my host. I was also generously allowed a cheeky tasting of the signature and menzies. Great experiece, great surrounds and a wonderful host

Wine, vat and barrel. This tour was engrossing from start to finish being well structured and paced. Such interesting information and access to areas we don't normally see by only visiting the cellar door. Some lovely surprises. Well worth it and our guide Helen was knowledgeable, interesting and genuine. Our wine tasting and cheese board at the end was perfect. Well worth it.
