A LITTLE BIT ABOUT WHAT TO EXPECT:
Your Sip & Sail begins at Magnetic Island Marina, Nelly Bay. One of the crew will meet you on the Pepper’s Blue on Blue deck and show you to Pilgrim, the beautiful 58-foot sailing yacht.
The Cruise:
After a full briefing to ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe, we’ll head out of the marina and pull up sails and go sailing.
Once under sail, you will enjoy wines from a selection of Tamburlaine Organic Wines, which include Sparkling, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling and a Rose. (Note, we don’t serve red wine onboard)
Alternatively, for non-wine drinkers, there is the locally brewed beer from the Townsville Brewery or soft drinks. All drinks are unlimited and included in the price.
There is also a delicious cheese platter to enjoy with your wine – be sure to try the homemade pumpkin chutney!
The route of the cruise in Cleveland Bay will depend on the wind (strength and direction). The skipper will ensure that it is the most comfortable ride for the prevailing conditions and will also line the boat up for the perfect view of the sun setting over Magnetic Island – make sure your cameras are ready!
Once the sun has dropped below the island, we will lower the sails and motor back into Nelly Bay Harbour in time for your dinner plans.
If you are allergic to anything or have special dietary requirements – please advise at time of booking.

The sail was fantastic and we were so well looked after by Paul and Jasper.
The drinks and platter of cheeses, chutney and fruit was very generous and delicious.
Just a lovely way to spend a couple of hours.
Highly recommend
The timing, the care and hospitality, and the warmth of the crew make the spectacular trip comfortable and rewarding.
The drinks menu and platters offered are first class and next time I'll remember to get the recipe for the labna!
The sunset was nothing short of breathtaking, with the golden light dancing on the water as we sipped on chilled drinks and enjoyed one of the best cheese platters we've ever had. The pumpkin chutney is delicious! It felt like a floating gourmet picnic on a tilt.
This cruise was the perfect blend of luxury and laid-back island vibes. Whether you're visiting Magnetic Island or you're a local looking for something special, don’t miss this. Huge thanks to Clay, Jasper, and the whole Pilgrim Sailing. You’ve set the bar incredibly high. We’ll definitely be back next year to enjoy the lunchtime sail and cruise ♡
Wonderful skipper and deckhand spoilt us as did the beautiful sunset.
The cheese boards and wines included some delicious local products.
Lunch in Radical Bay was beautifully presented and of the highest quality. Sailing back to Nelly Bay showed us what a beautiful boat “Pilgrim” is.
We highly recommend an outing on this boat to anyone visiting Magnetic Island.
The sunset did not disappoint but not enough wind to put the sails up but who cares when you’re out on the water with wine in one hand and a fantastic cheese and fruit platter to enjoy.
Next time I’m up here, this will be the first thing I book. Thanks guys for a great afternoon.
The island views were awesome.
The boat was very clean and comfortable for us all, with plenty of places to chill out.
Lunch was amazing, with some local produce and catered to our dietary needs.
It was very choppy out in the open water so unfortunately 1 guest got quite seasick but the staff were great, taking her to the beach while we were at anchor
Definitely would do again.
The boat was beautiful and comfortable. The wines were great with a vast selection to choose from, as well as the lovely cheese and fruit platter.
Clayton and Jasper were amazing hosts who looked after us splendidly.
It's evident that the organisers of this tour take great pride in providing a first class, quality experience to their customers and at a very reasonable price... A must do when visiting Magnetic Island and Townsville!
The platter served is crafted with care for the ingredients which are well explained by the crew…. It’s not just coon and crackers! The beer and wine is top shelf.
The boat is really comfortable with plenty of room for those on board.
You won’t be disappointed.
As we sailed despite the rain all that week, we had no rain during our sail and the highlight, of course, was the sunset and the calm sea and gentle breeze, made it feel like time had stopped.
What really makes this experience stand out was the personal touch—friendly and professional crew, beautiful homemade labneh and Clare’s famous pumpkin chutney and organic wines, and the sense that we weren’t just passengers, but friends.
Whether you’re a local or visiting Magnetic Island for the first time, this is an absolute must-do.
….and it wasn’t just us. We were staying at Peppers resort and watched several parties coming off Pilgrim with the biggest smiles.
Highly recommended.
The site were wonderful, a great way to just relax and take in the views and sunshine ☀️
During the sunset sail, we were treated to a fabulous gourmet cheese platter, complete with homemade chutney. As we watched the sunset, the crew attentively filled our glasses with crisp champagne and told us of their sailing stories, an experience like no other!
The following day we set off on a Pilgrim Adventure for just the four of us, speeding around the island to the truly untouched parts of the island. We were in awe of some of the beautiful beaches, waters and birds flying around. We stopped off at a beach all to ourselves, with a delicious local seafood platter that didn’t last long! With such lovely spots to swim and explore, it was such a special day with the family and so lovely that it was just us and our fun skipper, Bridie, on the boat.
This package of relaxation and adventure really made our family holiday the memory that it now is. We wish we could do it all again! In fact, both experiences were so different and next time we’d do the Lunchtime Cruise on Pilgrim too to see the Island in another way.
Thank you Paul, your Pilgrim is a stunning sailing boat; Thank you Clare for taking such care creating your delicious lunch & to Clayton & Clem for gently and expertly guiding us around Maggie ..
