Had a lovely ride out today with Jesters. We were very lucky to be on highly trained and well behaved horses. Loved the scenery and all 4 of the staff were amazing. Would love to visit again!

The horseback riding was very enjoyable. We saw lots of kangaroos along the way. The horses and the equipment were well taken care of. You received a clear and proper explanation beforehand. Definitely suitable for beginners. The only real downside was that after the 1.5-hour ride, no drinks were offered. You had to get off the horse and move on straight away. A shame, because otherwise it was quite nice.

As beginners, we chose the one hour country lane ride. What an amazing experience! The landscape was very beautiful, the ride peaceful and very pleasant. The staff is very professional, we felt very looked after. I highly recommend.

Absolutely beautifully run and gorgeous horses. Well looked after and all needs catered to. Very knowledge and patient staff who make the whole experience such an amazing day. Highly recommend. Staff were passionate and knowledgeable, very interactive and the scenery and surroundings were out of this world.

My boyfriend got this as a present for christmas. First time ever on a horse and it was scary at first but both of the instructors on our ride reassured me that the horse wouldn’t bolt. Lovely views and we bought a bottle of their wine aswell which is delicious 🤍

Wow, what a weekend! From start to finish there were so many enjoyable moments on the Rosa Brook Retreat at Jesters Flat.

Fiona and Paul are such wonderful hosts and their property is so tranquil and relaxing that you don’t want to leave. The trail guides on the weekend; Emma, Michelle, Yvonne, Lizzy and Ebony were so sharing of their wealth of knowledge on how to enjoy and improve your riding skills, with safety as the number one priority.

The beautiful horses that are so well trained made the riding very enjoyable through the spectacular Boranup Forest and surrounding forest countryside. We were treated to absolutely delicious meals thanks to our wonderful family chefs Sally and Alex. This included lunch on the Saturday ride at Alex’s winery.

The bell tents are very spacious with an extremely comfortable warm bed.

If you are looking for an exceptional 2 day horse trekking experience, you can’t go past Jesters Flat.

The best fun to be had at Jesters Flat I never dreamt that a five day horse riding trip could be so much fun. Having ridden all my life, experienced most aspects of equestrian disciplines one way or another, it is easy to get judgmental of riding establishments. I was delighted to have been paired with a super ex-polocrosse mare and we had the best fun. From bush riding to beach riding and the highlight was a very competitive game of polocrosse. The horses were very fit and looked well. Seat savers helped on the longer days. The guides were so much fun and delivered the safety protocols very clearly. We were certainly treated to wonderful hospitality and I could not recommend this trip enough.

Exceptional staff for Beginners Although I have never written a review for any place, I felt very much compelled to write one for the spectacular experience I had at Jesters Flat.
Being local in the South West we are always eager to check out different activities in the region to pass on to visiting friends.
Without exception the Trail Ride we joined at Jesters Flat on a Sunday morning was the absolute best activity we have ever had in the South West.
The premises is incredibly charming & curated beautifully for a rustic, cosy ambience. All facilities easily accessed & very clean. Heading to the location itself is half the pleasure, nestled in the farmland & bush of Rosa Brook.
We were absolute beginners and somewhat terrified of getting a wild brumby tearaway .these fears were instantly allayed on introduction to the lovely gentle group of horses that were to be our hosts. Beautifully groomed, happy, calm & excellently trained. They were just gorgeous.
The main strength at Jesters Flat, though, in my opinion , were clearly the staff.
Our guides were Michelle, Emma & Con who proved themselves to be thoroughly adept & accomplished riders, in full control of their own horses but also the group at large.
Their gentle reassurances & kindness turned out to be the pinnacle of the experience as it guaranteed everyone involved felt confident & supported.
I’m unsure of what training they receive but whatever it may be, it manifests in a superbly enjoyable ride throughout some glorious countryside.
In short, this will be the first place I ever recommend to visitors, interstate or international.
Completely suitable for beginners, kids or adults.
This place is the bomb.

We were a group of (generally) mature 10 NZ women celebrating various birthdays and/or taking some time out from our everyday lives. We really loved our Jesters Flat experience! It was such a treat to have excellent meals cooked for us, horses groomed and saddled, and guides to take us on different rides each day. The beds were super comfortable and we loved the thoughtful touches . The staff were all skilled, empathetic and caring. Paul and Fiona have set up a memorable experience. It was so special sharing in and hearing about Jesters Flat.

Jesters Flats is the best horse riding experience ive ever had. The horses wellbeing and safety is highest priority. They educate you in this well and are fun and informative. A great experience allround. Thankyou!

Not what I was expecting! I wish I wasn’t having to write this review as so much about our Moonrise Retreat ride was so lovely.
Paul and Lucy were amazing hosts and the majority of the team were fab.
The horses were well trained and knew their job.
Unfortunately the lead guide decided to take a personal dislike to me and felt it was appropriate to give me a public dressing down/lecture in front of the other riders after I asked a question.
I was upset and left feeling like I didn’t want to continue my ride.
She behaved like a bully which is not acceptable for someone in her position.
The other riders were supportive and were also shocked. I was told by regular clientele that it has happened before and that I was the chosen target for that ride.
I spoke with the owner who said it would be addressed. No feedback sadly.
We won’t be returning and I won’t be recommending the premise to others.
Such a shame!

Our family of four went to Jesters Flat although we managed to only book 1 saddle seat for our 13 year-old boy as his birthday present. My boy has mild autism and he has never been on a horse before so naturally we were a bit apprehensive about the ride. However, the trainer was so supportive and kind that words could not express our gratefulness. The girls supporting the ride took care to keep an eye on my boy during the forest trail too. While the group went on the forest trail, the three of us stayed back and soaked in the beautiful atmosphere of the farm. We played on the swing, hammock, tree house and wondered at the glamping tents among the trees and thinking how nice it would be to stay a couple of days here. The group came back with my boy riding so well-behaved on Freda, the beautiful horse. We were very pleased that he enjoyed his first horse-riding experience and went on a forest-trail too. Once again, a big thank-you to the team although we do not know the names of the members but your kindness will not be forgotten!

Beautiful setup around a campfire. Staff are sweet but firm, to ensure safety of the horses. They patiently explained everything we needed to know and keep the horses safe. Nice group sizes and lovely trails through the bush!

Like a home away from home... I just finished a 5 day ride at Jesters Flat & was definitely not ready to leave. Paul & Fiona were so warm & welcoming, from the moment we met, they made you feel like you were at home, it was as if I already knew them. Lucy’s cooking was delicious & filled our bellies perfectly after every ride. Emma, Michelle & the guides were absolutely fabulous, especially Emma, who managed & supported our group of 10 & our beautiful horses perfectly! She was very accommodating & made sure everyone had an amazing time over the whole 5 days.

I rode Freda &, of course, wanted to take her home (best horse ever!). We were paired perfectly, which made for a beautiful 5 days in the saddle. All of the horses at Jesters were very well taken care of & were happy to be on the trails with us. They did not at all seem bored or sour, which, unfortunately, you do come across at some trail-riding places.

Thank you to all at Jesters Flat for one of the best & memorable horsey holidays I’ve had so far. I CANNOT wait to come back. ????????

Jester’s Flat is the most comfortable, friendly, and professionally run trail outfit I’ve ever had the pleasure of riding with. There are simply not enough good things to say about the team and the horses there. Fiona, Paul and Lu are a bloody delight. THANK YOU for your stellar hospitality and the consideration you showed for us. The instruction, encouragement and laughs provided by the guides were second to none. Emma, in particular, was a flipping rockstar. Our entire group was consistently impressed with her ability to read the ride, ensure safety, AND keep the party going on every trail (no small feat with 10 hooligans). We loved her!! Emma - keep toddling on, legend! Michelle was also fantastic. Michelle - thanks for metaphorically holding my hand on the beach, and for your kindness. I can’t wait to book my next ride.

Jesters flat overall is 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ +. This is my second weekend down at Jesters and can not highly recommend them enough. The moment you walk in the gates you are treated like family. Fiona and Paul are very personable and want to get to know you as a person and genuinely care about your experience with them. Our tour guides on the latest weekend (Rosa Brook Retreat) was Emma, Laura, Michelle, Evon and Linda are very knowledgeable, very Safe and extremely kind and encouraging. The horses are safe, gentle, very well educated and really look after the rider. I can not highly recommend Jesters flat enough and counting down the days until my next visit.

WOW is the best word to describe what an amazing weekend I just spent at Jesters Flat with my daughter in law, & friends from NSW & Victoria. My daughter in law & I visited Jesters last year for 2 days of riding & invited our friends from Eastern States this year. We loved it so much we have already booked for next year. We did 2 full days of riding staying at Jesters in their comfy Bell Tents. Their horses are beautiful & so well trained, the guides are outstanding & so supportive. From when you arrive late Friday until late Sunday afternoon an abundance of top class food & refreshments are supplied, (thanks Alex for your tasty meals). The owners Fiona & Paul are absolutely perfect hosts, so warm & welcoming so thank you both for just being you. Thanks also to this years guides, Emma, Yvonne, Michelle, Laura & Linda. Already looking forward to next September.

Myself and 2 friends just spent the most amazing weekend at Jesters Flat on the Rosa Brook Retreat. I can’t recommend this highly enough, 10 stars out of 5!

The rides were simply amazing. They cater for all levels with plenty of trotting and cantering throughout the 2 days. And when you are not trotting you are walking through the most beautiful countryside, along rivers, through vineyards (with the owners approval of course). The rides were led by 4 extremely skilled and super friendly guides, ensuring everyone was well looked after and kept safe. My riding improved significantly over the 2 days.

Glamping at Jesters Flat was beyond our expectations. The tents are gorgeous, beds super comfortable, and the meals & wine served throughout the weekend were first rate. Paul & Fiona went above and beyond to ensure that we all had the best weekend. They are the nicest people, probably why most of the guests were return visitors. We will definitely be back for another weekend retreat next year!

My wife and I did the 1h country lane tour. I did not have a nice experience at all, sadly.

The premises look nice and the horses seem like they are taken care of very well.

The tour itself was 1 h of slow trodding behind each other with a large group (ten people). Well - meh, not my cup of tea.

What really turned this experience from meh to horrible was the behaviour of one of our guides. I am not an experienced rider and Emma used every opportunity to pick on me in front of the entire group. I felt publicly ridiculed if not bullied, which was a very humiliating and unpleasant experience. I was in get-this-over-with mode from minute 5 on and did not enjoy the ride at all.

I don't feel like I have given this person any reason to treat me like that and I don't feel anybody should have to put up with this kind of treatment. I did notify Jester's flat before that I am a beginner and they said 'no worries it's going to be alright'. Well I am sorry but that was everything but alright.

What a beautiful place! Took my children for their first horse riding experience and it was amazing! Horses are very well trained and staff are friendly, very knowledgeable and know what they're doing. Highly recommended for children from 10 years old with no experience.

By far the best horse riding establishment I've ever been to. The 2 women who guided us were extremely professional and friendly. The horses were so beautiful, well-behaved and healthy. The trail was gorgeous and we had the chance to have a little trot. Will definitely recommend and return!

Beautiful horse-riding experience, especially for beginners Beautiful setting, friendly hosts and an excellent experience for horse riding beginners! Loved that each horse had its own unique temperament & personality too. Everything was explained clearly and in an accessible way.

The ride through the bushland country-side was beautiful and we even saw some wild kangaroos along the way.

When we got there we realised we were on a “quiet” trail and asked for a private trail instead and they went the extra mile to accommodate us! Just fantastic! Thank you very much everyone for the amazing day spent with horses and kangaroos!!

Such a nice and cozy vibe to this place, all the horses seem to be cared for very well and the trail guides were so gentle and kind to the horses! Horses were extremely well trained and had the sweetest temperament! Only thing I could say was I would have loved it if we had trotted a little more. Will definitely be coming back next time we are in Margret river☺️

A beautiful place to visit during our trip in WA. Signed up for 90 mins beginner class for two. The instructions was very clear and handy. We were very much enjoy the ride. Staffs were super friendly and took care of us. Horses were very docile, too! Highly recommended

Our family of 4 did the guided ride and our youngest was quite nervous having never ridden before.
The ladies that took us were brilliant. They correct your technique quickly but in a really friendly way, and it made our youngest feel at ease.
It is a very well run establishment, with the horses very clearly well loved and looked after.
We spoke on the drive home and both kids agreed they'd love to do it again! We will be back.

Amazing experience! We went on their sunset tour last night and it was the best trail ride I have ever done!

Polocrosse put me right out of my comfort zone but was sooo much fun Paul being an Australian champion player gave us a lesson and got us going.
Riding thru the forest and vineyards were great but the beach ride and swimming the horses was just unbelievable.
I couldnt recommend this place any higher. Very grateful for our experience.

Excellent tour - relaxed and fun Our family LOVED our beginners horse riding experience. It was enjoyable and suitable for all ages.
The location is gorgeous and we were lucky to see so many wild kangaroos during our ride.

Amazing, I have been riding with Jesters Flat several times, always been great. Experience riders get to have their needs of canter fulfilled!!! Horses are in very good condition and well looked after. Always well organised by the owners. I am tall and the owners always accommodate with a bigger saddle when I ask. If you get along with a specific horse, you can ask to ride it again. Emma and Paul are really cool guides and good leaders to ride with.

My daughter and I just spent 3 magical days experiencing the wonderful world of Jesters Flat, the hosts Fiona and Paul and all the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time ever, Lucy cooked fabulous meals.
Highlights of our trip included polo cross and the beach ride, the glamping tents were amazing we are definitely coming back.

I went along as a non-rider. The farm is fantastic. The hosts, warm and welcoming. I had a ripper of a time exploring the area by 4WD whilst my wife was out riding. Fantastic area. Will accompany my wife again if she does a third trip to the wonderful Jesters Flat

Good fun, great place! Had an amazing Beginners Bushwalk today. Group of 5 adults/teens. Horses were well trained and the facilities too. Lovely surroundings and knowledgeable guides who showed us how to handle the horses. Excellent ride with sightings of kangaroos hopping abt in the bush.

Absolutely beautiful place!! I've been twice and will definitely go again. The horses are well looked after and well trained, and the trails are gorgeous, especially after there's been a little rain. The girls there are helpful and friendly. The last time I went, we had a group of experienced riders, so we got to trot and canter a lot more than I expected. My partner and I will be back soon.

Suited for beginners, experienced, and every one in between! I seriously enjoyed the Wanderer Tour on the beautiful Evie, she was a dream horse! So quirky and responsive and such a smooth canter, one of the BEST rides in my 20 years of on and off riding. I adored her personality, all of the horses on the tour were so well trained and worked well together. The scenery of Rosa Brook is flawless, the thick south west bushland is unbeatable and the horses are so confident in there! The staff (Bri and Emma) were so welcoming and helpful for all riders. I cannot wait to come back!!

Horse lovers dream. This was such a memorable experience. From the day we stepped through the door to driving away on the last day. Fiona, Paul and Lucy were exceptional hosts. The girls who guided us did a great job. Home cooked meals, lovely wine from their own vineyard, awesome comfortable bell tents and the horses are amazing. Well looked after, trained and responsive. We did the 3 day ride in humid sunshine one day to rain the next, however this added to the whole experience. This is a horse lovers must do! Margaret River regions is beautiful if you want to see some of the south west. I can't wait to visit again in winter to enjoy the huge fire pit. Oh and Rosie the Kangaroo and Jack the dog, can't forget them. xx

The most incredible place. Exceeded all expectations. The horses were educated, the trails were long and soft so you could go for extensive canters, the location was from a storybook and the hospitality was warm and welcoming. Just a highly personalised, wonderful experience. ⭐️ ???? ???? ????

Warm and friendly hosts/Super Horsemen I was part of a group that did a 3 day ride out from Jesters Flat. Firstly the people! Paul, Fiona, their family and staff were incredible hosts. They were so encouraging and went to a lot of effort to make sure we all had a great experience. They were kind and accommodating, and the hospitality was unbeatable- and I have been to other riding places in the region. The horses were so well trained too and the scenery to ride through was stunning. They know all the good places to go to. I’ll be back for sure and will bring friends. Jesters Flat is a jewel in the crown of Equestrian places in WA. Thank you!

Best Place Ever! I have been to many horse riding places before Jesters Flat, and they just do not compare to this place. Jester's Flat is a beautiful venue, the little cottage and campfire give off a nice cozy vibe and the horses were all beautiful and well behaved. This is a very unique place and it is great if you want to try something new. There are a number of rides to choose from. Wether you're a beginner or an expert, or a child or adult. The instructors know what they are doing and they always make sure that everyone is safe and happy.

Fantastic afternoon doing something different My teenage daughter and I sometimes find it hard to find fun things to do that we both enjoy, but this hit the mark for us. Neither of us had any experience horse riding but we both really enjoyed the experience. Visiting the beautiful property was half the fun. We saw kangaroos and lots of beautiful bush land. There was a big campfire and an outside room with an open fire and piano and guitar for relaxing in before/after the ride. It was a really cool place and the horses looked happy and seemed well behaved. We really had a great time

I cannot express how much fun this weekend was! From the cosy glamping tents so beautifully decked out, the roaring log fire that burned all weekend, the amazing locally sourced food cooked by Alex, the beautiful cottage where we chatted over cups of tea & red wine, the incredible scenery & especially the great company & hosting of Paul, Fiona & crew.
Special mention to our beautiful horses who carried us through some pretty torrential rainfall without a step wrong. All the horses are so well cared for & great temperaments.
We loved this weekend SO much and cannot wait for next year already! x
