Sit down, relax and watch from the front of Temptation and enjoy our 360 degree viewing deck. Watch the dolphins play on the bow of the boat swimming only a few feet away from you and your camera.
Listen to our knowledgable Marine Biologists educate and explain the interactions with our amazing Indo-Pacific bottlenose and short-beaked common dolphins.
The gulf in which we operate is home to over 1300 residential Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins and 1000-2000 migratory short-beaked common dolphins. During our Dolphin Watch we guarantee we will see dolphins on this tour.
It is important to remember that all of the dolphins we see on our tours are completely wild and every interaction is different. We do not do anything to attract them and they choose to swim with us on their own free will.
Important: Infants must be booked on an infant ticket, as they count toward our total passenger capacity. If an infant is not included in the booking, we may be unable to accommodate them on board.
Thank you for your booking with Temptation Sailing. We look forward to meeting you and showing you our backyard.
Algal Bloom Update
To our valued customers, as you may be aware parts of South Australia are currently experiencing an algal bloom including waters along Adelaide Metropolitan Coast.
We have been operating daily since September and noticed a significant improvement in the water quality over this period. We are constantly monitoring the water conditions and have not had a customer report any adverse symptoms during a tour.
The algae (Karenia sp.) may cause irritation and short-term symptoms to people including skin irritation, eye irritation, coughing and shortness of breath. If you suffer from asthma we recommend bringing your puffer if you are asthmatic.
Please see the links below for further information regarding the algal bloom.

Please arrive for boarding no later than 15 minutes prior to the boarding time (please check your order for the departure time). Our cruise departure times are sharp. In case of late arrivals or no-shows, your booking will be non-changeable and non-refundable.
Boarding Location: Marina Pier, Glenelg – at the bottom of the stairs/ramp in front of the Oyster Bar.
Temptation is a fully licensed venue, so strictly no BYO. You can however bring food onboard. Temptation is a stable catamaran, therefore the most stable vessel on the water. However, if you are concerned about experiencing sea sickness we recommend purchasing medication from a chemist. We recommend taking 30 minutes prior to the cruise. As this is a boat tour, we recommend wearing suitable clothing.
Temptation Sailing Pty Ltd reserves the right to cancel tours due to inclement weather. We are constantly monitoring the weather forecast and will contact all bookings with as much advance notice as possible if the weather conditions do not permit us to run tours safely. Please note – due to the potential inaccuracies of forecasting and unpredictable nature of the weather, our tours may not be cancelled until immediately before departures in some situations. We strive to avoid this wherever possible, however in some situations it cannot be helped.
Bookings cancelled due to inclement weather conditions will result in a full refund or rescheduling of the booking.
If you wish to cancel your booking due to inclement weather before we make the call, our regular Cancellation Policy will apply.

The only downside is the seating is on cushions on the top of the boat and on nets rather than seats so if you have trouble with mobility I wouldn’t recommend.
Bucket list item I'll never forget.
The added bonus is for $25 you can get a link for all the camera and video footage taken from your trip... excellent value. Staff are great, friendly and very knowledgeable.
Highly recommend, you won't be disapointed.
I joined the dolphin watch tour with Temptation Sailing today and it was absolutely fantastic. The crew were genuinely friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable about the local dolphin pods — I learned so much from them throughout the trip.
The experience really came alive when the sun came out. Suddenly, the dolphins appeared all around us, swimming so close to the boat. It was such a lovely and surprising moment, and honestly the highlight of my day.
The whole journey was calm, relaxing, and beautifully organised — a perfect way to spend 4 hours on the water. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Adelaide or Glenelg. Truly memorable.
Everyone on the Temptation Sailing team was incredibly professional and had such positive energy. You could really feel their sincerity and kindness in every interaction.
We were lucky to have perfect weather and calm seas, and seeing the adorable, active dolphins up close was simply magical. It was an unforgettable way to end our time in Adelaide.
I truly appreciate the genuine care and effort from the Temptation Sailing crew for making our special day even more special. I honestly wish them all the best in everything they do.
If you’re looking for a unique and heartwarming experience in Adelaide, I can’t recommend this activity enough!
The crew on board were very knowledgeable of the area/marine life, and were very respectful of the different pods we had encounter's with. They ensured the welfare of the dolphins were a priority, so after we spent a little while in the ocean with them they would move the boat to find a different pod.
Unfortunately it wasn't ideal perfect weather conditions as it wasn't warm and also was a bit choppy, however it was still definitely a 10/10 experience. The admission fee is reasonably priced, but potentially if there was a bulk multi-experience booking say for the locals (like me) who want to do it lots of times it would be more attractive.
However, I will be 100% returning back to do it again. Thank you temptation sailing!

⛵️ Well worth the 6am wakeup (7.30 arrival, 8.00 departure). No BYO, as there's a bar - or so we read, but I don't think there was a bar, and it's a weekend so ok to start drinking before noon. The guide was hard to hear, battling the motor and waves.
.
🏊♀️ Snorking (front swim) - There was an option to get in the water, where you're inside a fishnet in freezing cold waters. Not that the boat never stops, so the water is always moving, never calm, there's no free roam. There's two groups that alternate in the water, so you get to see them from the boat too.
.
Tips
- There's a video of the swim experience on their website
- sit up front, not in the middle area
- bring a puffy coat (it was summer on land, but not at 8am on the water), hat (tied on), chapstick, snacks that won't fly away, lanyard for phone
- wear fitted clothes, it's very windy on the go
- Only for those nimble who can do small steps. If you have mobility issues this isn't for you, or maybe pick a spot and don't move around

💵 Swim experience $149 // Dolphin watch $88
Was such a nice night when we left, the weather was good and was definitely chilly by the time we got out there- pack a jacket!
We got a good spot up the front (even though we got lost and thought we wouldn’t make it!)
But get there early if you want a good spot, would not recommend sitting right up the front. When the boat hits the water, this is where it goes! So the people who sat right up the front, got quite wet 😂
The staff were so friendly and offered to take pictures for everyone which was so nice! We didn’t see any dolphins unfortunately but the views and sunset were enough.
Would definitely recommend if you want to try something different.
From start to finish was brilliant.
Staff are fabulous and make you feel very relaxed and comfortable.
The view is stunning along our coastline and OMG that sunset 🌇
Wind in your hair sipping champagne 🍾 spotting dolphins 🐬 watching a stunning sunset with your loved one. What a perfect night 🧡
I would highly recommend it to everyone. 10/10 👍
Unfortunately unable to rebook as not staying in this area for long.
Wow - seriously wow - even being a spectator was amazing - it certainly helped having perfect conditions, water like glass, not a breath of wind and 38+ degrees!
However what I loved about this whole experience was that the crew mentioned they have all studied marine biology, they are super knowledgeable and super respectful to the wildlife dolphins - thank you - that makes it more of an educational experience to learn about these beautiful mammals rather than being out on the boat for sheer entertainment - my son and I both loved it!! And to think this is all in our own backyard - thank you team - well done and keep up the fabulous work - look forward to returning again with the rest of the family!!
The crew on board was very experienced and friendly. Also we’re happy to see a couples of Dolphins 🐬 swimming around. I was impressed with the selection of food and beverages available at the bar.
The only disappointment was that one of our friends missed the departure, arriving late as the yacht was already leaving. I acknowledge that this was not the operator's fault, as they clearly stated the departure time as 12:30 and boarding at 12:15. Nevertheless, we had a great time, and I highly recommend Temptation Sailing. 🛥️🥂🩵🌺👍
HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Thanks guys, we will definitely be coming with you again.
We were lucky to meet so many dolphins on the day.
However, something really needs to improve is the TOILET, im not be able to use it properly as it's hygiene and smell issues. It would benice if it can be improved and fixed.
Music was too loud and dominated the mood of the cruise, call me old fashion but I still prefer to mingle with conversation not having to compete with loud music.
The toilets where unsanitary and the boat would should be shut down via the health and safety commission, not clean and smelt awful, I dare not use them and waited till docked.
Staff where not dressed as should , they looked like Stow-aways. Not every one has a personality or likes their job and this was clear via the staff on this cruise. By the 60 minute mark most people were looking at there watch awaiting it to be over lol I was in good company with a dear friend , if not for this I probably would of walked the plank to get off that thing.
Get there first so you can get a seat on the cushions on the front of the boat!
Super friendly highly informative staff who will do anything for you to make your trip enjoyable. They explain at all times what's going on and why.
We didn't do the water dolphin experience where you get in the water - glad I didn't actually as you see more or less the same on the boat !
Looked cold ????
Really enjoyed this and loved seeing the dolphins who swam alongside the boat really close.
When the suns out it's a sun trap out there and I burnt my feet !! So cover up or slap the sunscreen on.
Well worth a trip
Beautiful sunset, happy and friendly staff
Would highly recommend this short boat trip
Increible la experiencia, no es caro la atencion es muy buena, uno si ve los delfines bien de cerca la verdad, vale mucho la pena lo recontra recomiendo
The crew were determined and patient with persistence for all customers to have 2 great dolphin experiences. We really appreciated their diligence. They were friendly and informative.
communicate to each other. Highlight of our trip and well worth doing. Staff very friendly.
The catamaran is very big and can host up to 50 people. The group is split so that everyone can take turns going front/back swim with the dolphins. You need to know how to swim.
There are no drinks or food on board, but you can bring your own food. Toilets are very tiny and wet and can clog easily, so I suggest getting there mentally prepared.
The team takes pictures and videos of everything, so for an extra $25, they will send you an email with everything.
I really enjoyed the experience, and I highly recommend it.
It was absolutely surreal. I felt like I was watching a vertical reality video when watching the dolphins from the net whilst under the water.
We were fortunate enough to interact with 2 pods of dolphins and see a few smaller groups of dolphins swimming along the way as well.
The crew were lovely and so informative and welcoming. It did take a little bit to find the second group of dolphins to interact with, but it was so worth the wait - as it gave everyone some time to enjoy the views, company and boat ride.
Would definitely recommend.
We motored down towards Seacliff and as we turned around the crew hoisted the sail to head slowly towards home - just delightful.
The boat has a good vibe - friendly and relaxed crew and music playing. Plenty of drink options on board. On a night like this it’s hard not to enjoy the cruise …….you also get a great view of the beach and the houses along the coast.
Highly recommended.
Fantastic morning on the water off Adelaide. Saw in excess of 40 individual dolphins right up close. Dolphins in the wild, no feeding, on their terms not ours. Great information from the 4 Marine Biologists on board. Great South Australian weather!! Must be one of the top tours to do in Adelaide.
We didn't swim, but we will next time
Not too badly priced for such a great experience.
Thanks a lot for the great day.
