Do yourself a favour! This is the best trip I've ever done! The service received from Paige in the office to Theo ( pilot, skipper, tour guide ) was exceptional. The flight was amazing, the views outstanding. The boat trip around Bathurst Harbour as fantastic. Plenty of time to stretch your legs and walk around. Beautiful lunch with wine in a gorgeous setting. Flying back through the mountains for a different perspective. You can tell Theo loves his job, informative, interesting, professional, good humoured. I joked he would lose a star for forgetting the silver platter for our cheese & crackers but he was already getting 10 out of 5 so it didn't really matter. This truly was a fantastic trip, well worth the money.

Southwest Wlderness ,an experience that you cant put into words or in pics. Absolutely worth the wait, although we had multiple weather cancellations , the Wilderness is an experience you cant justify with words or pictures, our excellent friendly pilot /guide "Theo" was so knowledgeable with locations / history , it felt like he has lived there all of his life. Yummy Lunch and Morning tea was wonderful , cant wait to do the East coast.

Spectacular Southwest Tassie We did this trip on 12th April. We have wanted to do this for a long time. We are both older and were unsure how we would go with the walking but we were always given time and assistance from our guide. He made our day one to remember. The commentary he provided was so informative. The day was just perfect. We loved every aspect of the day. The scenery was amazing and the serenity of this place is hard to explain. We would recommend this trip to anyone who loves the unique nature of the Tasmanian wilderness. Thank you so much for a wonderful day! We will never forget it.

Extremely Disappointed – Poor Communication and Unreliable Service I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience with Par Avion was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Their communication is absolutely terrible. Most of the time, emails and texts go completely unanswered. I had to send multiple follow-ups just to get a reply, and even then, it would take them days to respond – if they responded at all.

I booked a fly and cruise day tour and provided EIGHT different available dates well in advance. Despite that, they were still unable to fulfill the booking. No proper updates, no clear explanation – just silence. Dealing with them felt like talking to thin air.

For a company in the travel industry, basic responsiveness and clarity should be a given. Unfortunately, this company fails on both fronts. I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere if you value your time and peace of mind.

We had a fantastic experience with Par Avion. The staff were friendly and helpful from booking to flying. Putting safety first, our south west wilderness flight had to be cancelled due to weather so we opted for the east coast flight and it didn’t disappoint. Amazing views of Freycinet Peninsula and Maria Island. Our pilot was professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. The lunch on Maria Island was so delicious. Highly recommend flying with Par Avion. we will be back one day to fly south!!

Just back from an absolutely amazing trip with Par Avion to Mariah Island.
The whole experience could not have been better and the pilots Patrick and Boy were so friendly and knowledgeable and just made the whole experience one that i will never forget. Thank you guys so much. The views we got especially around the Freycinet peninsula were stunning. After landing on Mariah Island, it was great to see the local wildlife which included Wombat, Wallabies, Sea Eagle. The highlight was spotting a Humpback Whale and her calf from the air and watching them breaching on numerous occasions. It was spectacular.
Also my fellow passengers, James and Eileen were great company and thank you to you both for just adding to what was an absolutely wonderful day.

Awesome experience not to be missed From booking the ticket through to saying farewell. The ground and air crew were engaging and helpful. The provision of a heated jacket was ideal for the boat ride. The entire day went like clock work, and there was no rushing.

There really are wombats and kangaroos everywhere We had a lovely flight, where the pilot described what we were seeing, then landed on Maria Island for a good portion of time.

We are visiting from the USA and had limited time, so this was a great way for us to see some things we wouldn’t have had time for otherwise.

The picnic lunch was great and they even accommodated our request for something besides seafood.

One of the great Australian experiences! We were fortunate to have only my wife and I on this tour accompanied by our 2 expert pilots, Caleb and Zeydan. Everything went smoothly from the team that checks you in through to the pre flight safety briefing and getting underway. Once we had taken off the experience just got better and I am so grateful we decided to spoil ourselves with what has to be one of the great Tasmanian travel experiences.

Gavin, our pilot, tour guide and captain did everything possible to make our day something special. A fantastic day out What a fantastic tour and such a privilege to be able to fly into one of the most remote parts of SW Tasmania. Our group travelled in the 10 and 6 seater planes. I got the back seat of the 6 seater which was brilliant in terms of the views. Our pilots were fantastic with great commentary and talked us through when to expect turbulence, particularly on the way home as we experienced some pretty strong winds and bumps flying over the mountains. The boat tour with Meg was fantastic and her knowledge of the area made the trip even more special. I would highly recommend this tour. If you are prone to a bit of motion sickness on planes, come prepared as it can be quite bumpy around this part of Tasmania. I don’t get air sick but my sneaky glass of red wine at lunchtime had other ideas on the return trip! However, it was worth it for the spectacular views.

Wilderness experience with luxury and heart Everything was simply marvelous. The flights were spectacular, the scenery amazing, the guides fun, attentive, informative and lovely and the program tailored to suit our group excellently. The accommodation was extremely comfortable and the food and drinks excellent. We have specific dietary requirements and these were accommodated without any fuss and without making us feel like we were being difficult. We were provided with excellent options at every meal including snacks while we were out seeing the sights. At the camp, everything was thought through down to the smallest detail - lanterns and headlamps provided in our hut/tent, the bed was lovely and comfortable. The camp has been cleverly designed to be low impact and was nestled into the forest to give you the feeling of truly being in the wilderness. Birds flying around immediately outside your tent!
Quite a bit of our time during the day was spent in the boat travelling to beautiful, secluded beaches on Bathurst Harbour, visiting indigenous sites and historical sites, going on short to medium-length hikes. Having two guides at all times, the group could break into those keener on slightly more strenuous hikes and those more content to potter
We were also lucky enough to have great wildlife experiences including seeing dozens of the endangered Orange-Bellied Parrot, as well as potoroos, wedge-tailed eagles and a white-bellied sea eagle nest complete with fledglings.
The guides themselves were amazing, very, very knowledgeable and fonts of stories of all kinds, covering the geology, history and ecology of this amazing, wonderful region.
The boat trip out to Port Davey proper was a true highlight with dozens of islands, beaches, cliffs, blowholes and arches, all in a simply spectacular coastline. All done in comfort and safety with an engaging commentary and the guides being flexible and responsive to our individual requests.
We highly recommend this trip of a lifetime.

I flew a plane! I couldn’t believe it. It totally blew my mind that I was in control of an aircraft. Best experience ever. It was also cool to hear the control tower of Hobart Airport. This was my first ever time doing this and I would definitely do it again if I can. The instructor was great explaining everything I need and answering any questions I had. It really is the best views of the area.

Couldn't recommend the Southwest wilderness adventure flight and cruise more highly. The guides are very knowledgeable and provide a great commentary of the area and it's history. They are very hospitable and attentive to their guests and the food and wine is delicious. Would definitely encourage anyone to do it at least once in their life.

SOUTH WEST TASMANIA AT ITS BEST! Fantastic experience of Tasmanian coastline with commentary to match both on plane, land and boat. Weather was perfect and water was mainly calm. Morning tea and lunch was great and well presented. Ample time to enjoy. Weather enabled us to take plenty of pictures. We were a group of 10 and we flew on the 4 seater which quite comfortable and enabled us to enjoy the view.
Would definitely recommend this trip.

A tour to remember What an amazing experience! The flight around the coast was breathtaking and the boat trip was fascinating. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable (with a host of tall tales!), the food and drink were excellent, and the places we stopped were truly beautiful (Balmoral beach, where we had lunch, will remain in my memory for a very long time). And we had the best weather!
I would certainly recommend this tour to anyone lucky enough to come to Tasmania.

Wonderful experience the staff at check in were very welcoming and friendly. Jonah is a very knowledgeable, professional and friendly pilot. Ellie did a terrific job driving the boat gave a wonderful commentary with a sprinkling of local knowledge and stories. Lunch at Bramble Cove was delicious with a choice of red or white wine, fruit juice, tea or coffee. We had a wonderful day in a very special part of Tasmania it actually felt a bit spiritual to me. We would not hesitate to recommend this experience to anyone, the weather that we experienced was also exceptional on the day, we were told that this is not always the case so come prepared.

Day tour to the remote SW of Tasmania My wife, son and myself recently took the one day tour through Par Avion to the remote South West corner of Tasmania. This is an exciting, informative and enjoyable trip which we thoroughly recommend. The Par Avion team at the airport, the pilots and Greg who was our tour leader are all very enthusiastic and passionate about this part of the world and it is a privilege to be taken somewhere so utterly remote and untouched. Incredibly there are some hardy folk who over the decades have actually lived, worked and brought up their family here and it was wonderful to hear about their stories and to see where they lived and worked. We flew by plane to the Bathurst harbour area, did some easy walking and then transferred to a boat tour before returning in the late afternoon. Thank you again and keep the stories alive

A very special trip An experience of awe. The plane trip over was breathtaking, even though there was cloud cover. The cruise was stunning. The staff were really friendly, the lunch was delicious and the scenery was gorgeous. As it was a lovely day we’re got to go out to sea. The tour of Sarah Island was a highlight. Our guide was funny and yet conveyed the cruelty the convicts endured. I had wanted to do the trip for many years. It lived up to all my expectations.

Amazing experience We had an amazing experience doing Par Avion’s Wineglass and Wildlife tour. We saw the most beautiful coastal sights of Tasmania and were even lucky enough to spot some whales at Wineglass Bay. Our pilot was a great guide too and made it a smooth day. Overall was a beautiful experience and would highly recommend!

An Experience Not to be Missed The whole experience was amazing.
Left at 8.30 and returned at 4.30. Our flight to the South West Wilderness took us over the most beautiful scenery. Cameron, our pilot was so full of knowledge, which he was happy to impart. Not only was he our pilot, captain of the boat, historian and also server of food. He was excellent. Lunch on the beach.

Fabulous flight! We had a fabulous half hour flight with Theo (Pilot) from ParAvion.
Although appearing very young he is an experienced pilot and we felt very safe with him! He gave a very interesting talk during our flight and was a very pleasant tour guide. Make this a part of your Tassie holiday-you won’t regret it!

So when my assigned pilot Theo met up with me, he explained the situation in detail and if I still wanna proceed with it, he will take me up there. Of course I said “let’s do it!!” I was really super lucky! Minimum to nil turbulence and it’s beautiful up there to see Hobart city in aerial view. The hands on to steer the plane was easy. Theo was really fun and easy going. Young ladies out there, if you’re reading this and wanna try flying, go for Theo! He’s young and handsome🤣😆 10 stars for Theo and Par Avion! I’m sooo satisfied, happy and glad 🎉

FANTASTIC TRIP The entire trip was wonderful. Gavin (pilot) made the trip so enjoyable, his knowledge and history of the areas were very important and interesting. We learnt alot about an area we have never visited even though we are Tassie born. I would recommend this cruise to anyone. Boat trip was really enjoyable, lunch and morning tea was lovely with Tassie wines, juices and cheeses. Flights down and back was really great and we felt safe in the small plane. Visiting Melaleuca and South West Tasmania by Par Avion We loved this trip. We saw such wonderful views from the plane and when we landed at Melaleuca the scenery was stunning. We had a delicious morning tea and lovely hot coffee, then we travelled by boat up Melaleuca Inlet to Bathurst Harbour where the sights were brilliant. Our pilot, Callum was brilliant. He was also our boat captain and everything else that was needed. We landed at a beautiful spot for lunch, again it was delicious. We loved every minute of where we went and what we saw. Visiting Deny King’s home and boats were stored, was a highlight. Altogether a fabulous day.

Fantastic Experience Par Avion is an extremely professional and well run company. We had been trying to go on this trip a few times and their professionalism in keeping us advised of this experience was exceptional. Our pilot was extremely knowledgeable in the area and showed us a part of Tasmania that we were unable to experience anywhere else. Unfortunately due to bad weather we were unable to complete the trip as our safety is their main priority. I can recommend them with the highest esteem.

Absolute must when visiting Tassie!! The guide, who is also the pilot, was incredibly knowledgeable and he effortlessly ensured fun and safety. The terrain we got to see is beyond description, just magical. Magical!

Our trip rated as one of the most magnificent tourism experiences of our lives. Perhaps we were lucky with the weather but the day was perfect with no wind and no cloud. Amazing sights of coastline on flight to Melaleuca, beautiful views and reflections during our cruise on Bathurst Harbour and Port Davey, and great flights over the Harbour and mountains on our return flight. Morning tea in a peaceful place, yummy lunch on a beach with beautiful tannin stained waters and harbour and mountain views as the background, and good Tasmanian wines to savour. Interesting stories from our guide Greg who has a profound knowledge of the area. We could not have asked for more!
We have lived in Tasmania our whole lives and are so glad to have had the opportunity to see a special part of our island state. Such a great part of our Island Wilderness area and so peaceful with only the noises of nature around.

Flying into Melaleuca to walk the South Cost Track we added a boat trip around Bathurst Harbour. Par Avion contacted us a week or so before to suggest a refined plan that worked even better for us and allowed other bookings to fit in better. Great flight over with experienced commentary and the a fantastic trip around Bathurst Harbour with Greg and his wealth of knowledge and total customer focus. A wonderful and quite special location served by a great organisation. We will be back. The walk out on SCT is epic, brutal and only for well prepared, experienced full pack hikers.

An absolute amazing day After being cancelled twice beforehand we scored a fantastic day going out to Port Davey and the Break Sea Islands which is something not a lot of the tours are able to do due to swells. The scenery was amazing flying over Bruny Island and the coast on the way down and then flying over Federation Peak and Mount Wellington on the homeward journey. Our guide was very passionate and knowledgeable (Cal) sharing many tips and facts a long the way. After the flight we boarded a little boat weaving through the rivulets and channels to Bathurst Harbour. Stopping for morning tea with Tasmanian cheeses and shortbread with plunger coffee at a historical house now lovingly restored and after more cruising lunch was on Balmoral Beach which was lovely served with Tasmanian wine. Our plane was a six seater (including the pilot) and the other groups were in a twelve seater. This is such a pristine part of Tasmania not easily accessible which is stunning and so worth the cost to do this!

Once in a lifetime experience! The highlight of our week in Tasmania! Our flights with Theo at the controls were incredible; we saw parts of Tasmania that we couldn't possible have viewed any other way. Callum provided us with wonderful insight into the history, flora and fauna of Southwest National Park, including a chance to watch endangered orange-bellied parrots at a feeding station. Lunch on secluded, beautiful Balmoral Beach was delightful.

VERY UNPROFESSIONAL Back on 3rd march, I booked online and paid for a flight on 6th march. On 1st March, I was contacted by phone to advise that my flight was cancelled. When I asked why?, I was told by the Par Avion representative that she hadn't looked at the online bookings and the flight was full! This was going to be a highlight of our trip to Tassie from Qld. but now its just a very bad taste in my mouth. No other alternative dates were available before we return home. I was flabbergasted. I was given a refund on the flight, but I had separately booked accomodation near the airport to be ready, close at hand for the flight at 0800.
This is the first negative report I have posted. Normally, if I find something off then I just dont comment, but this total lack of professionalism really got my goat, especially when it was just a feeble, sorry for their mistake.

An extraordinary day out at Southwest National Park! An extraordinary day out with Callum and the Par Avion team on the Southwest Wilderness Tour. Taking in the spectacular scenery of Southwest National Park by air and by boat was a special experience. We made it all the way out to the Break Sea Islands, which was worth the ride! Callum navigated the boat expertly through 35 knot winds. The food and drinks were also top notch. It was great to see the Park through the eyes of a local - Callum's passion and enthusiasm for Tasmania was infectious. Don't hesitate - sign up for this tour!

South West wilderness flight This trip has been on our Tassie bucket list for years and it did not disappoint.
Melaleuca was so beautiful, so much history and stunning scenery, we saw whales flying down the coast and the rare orange bellied parrots in their natural habitat. Our tour made it right out to the heads of Port Davey, where we could feel the remoteness, isolation and beauty of this place. I would absolutely recommend this trip, a well-run tour and a perfect day out.

If you’re looking for a great adventure in Hobart, Wineglass Bay is a must! We were lucky enough to have the most amazing pilots rewarding us with an enjoyable flight. The other passengers were so friendly & the aerial views on our Hobart/Cambridge-Freycinet adventure were breathtaking. Wineglass Bay was crystal clear & certainly a highlight. The kindness shown by not landing into a family of Tasman Geese on the ground, re-circling and trying again was so endearing. Lunch was enjoyable, conversation flowed and photo opportunities were abundant. We would recommend this scenic flight as a ‘must do’ whilst in Hobart, Tasmania.

Fabulous trip to the South West The South West Experience was an unique day and an opportunity not to be missed. After just an hour of flying starting with urban landscape then rural valleys and forest to beaches, bays, cliffs, rugged peaks and islands, we were landing ( expertly) in the remote and isolated Tasmanian wilderness. Captain Theo and our expert guide Peter were engagjng and shared a wealth of information which of course added greatly to the experience. The flight in the small plane was spectacular, the boat trip in Bathurst Harbour in equal measure fun and spectacular. Delicious picnic on a pristine harbour beach. We gained an insight into the protection of a rare bird population ( we watched them feeding) , the first nations people and how they lived in that landscape, and the World Heritage Area. The return flight over the Arthurs and major ranges, and seeing Federation Peak was great on the fine February late afternoon that we had. Thank you Peter and Theo.

Beware the generator noise Fantastic experience marred by a generator running all night both nights . Ask before booking if this bothers you.

Special Day Out A great trip. Guides/pilots very good and happy to give information. Can recommend this activity. We were fortunate in having sunny and dry weather.

Gourmet in the Wild This was one of the most exceptional trips we have ever taken. The remoteness, the rugged beauty, the harshness of the environment made this a truly memorable camping experience. The guides (Callum and Hillary) had extensive knowledge of the Port Davey area and the stories they wove of heroes past and present made the area come alive. Par Avion catered for everything and the tents and facilities were first class. The food was first class and seemed endless, along with good quality Tasmanian wine. Thank goodness there were plenty of opportunities to climb mountains! One would hope that this area remains untouched - I will be fighting to keep it that way - but just in case, take this trip to one of the few last untouched areas of Australia.
