Extraordinary experience! In one day we checked so many things off our Wishlist of wildlife, sites and experiences we hoped to have while visiting NT from Texas! From pickup to drop off, we would not change a single thing. With the exception that I would have made sure we had the time to stay overnight at Camp. We did not want the day to end when we left and the accommodations appeared just as good as any hotel in town! Communication with booking, confirmation of what to expect/be prepared for and pickup (prior to the day of), etc was exceptional. The tour description on the Top End site is what was delivered. The price was extremely reasonable for all the activities and the smaller group (15-ish) was perfect size for ample space and site seeing. From visiting and watching the crocodiles be fed, to the heli flight, airboat and more relaxing billabong cruise, we were informed how keep ourselves safe while getting the most enjoyment out of each experience. No other tour I found could offer so much diversity in just one day. They also have a handy pub you can purchase beer/wine from if you didn’t bring your own. Thank you Matt, Kaia, Jake (for being an awesome and knowledgeable guide for the day) and the rest of the Top End crew for allowing a couple from halfway around the world the opportunity to encounter so much that Australia has to offer! Hope to visit y’all again!

Best overnight stay in Darwin A truely wonderful experience. Jake was amazing. Not only did her transport us to the site, he fed the crocodiles, drove the airboat and river cruiser he cooked the best dinner I had in Darwin. So much food! The tents were just beautiful and the attached shower was great.

An Unforgettable Top-End Experience — Don't Miss This One! From the moment Jake (and his dog Kaia) picked us up in Darwin CBD, we knew this was going to be a great day. We kicked things off with a river boat cruise and a delicious breakfast on board - the perfect, relaxed start to the adventure.

Jake's knowledge was next level. He didn't just talk crocs - he gave us a real appreciation for the whole ecosystem, the birdlife, and how it all fits together. You can tell this isn't just a job for him, it's a genuine passion, and it made the whole experience so much richer.

Then came the airboat ride, which was lots of animal encounters from start to finish. Feeding the big crocs was an absolute highlight - equal parts thrilling and unforgettable.

To top it all off, we finished with a scenic helicopter ride and relaxed by the pool with a cold beer, still buzzing from the day.

Fun, informative, relaxing, and thrilling all in one — this place checks every box. If you're heading to the Top End, do not miss this experience!

Base camp had great views with the pool a bonus after being out in the sun with activities.
Had a about a 40 min river crusie with cooked brekkie, then and hour on the airboat, this was fun.

Best Day Trip, highly recommend This tour was perfect from start to finish.
Was picked up by Jake and Kaia (dog) and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly from the start.
Once at base we met Danni and Oakley(dog).
Danni and Jake where full of knowledge and both a pleasure to have as tour guides. You can tell they love what they do.
Breakfast on the riverboat was great, plenty of food.
The airboat was a blast, and they didnt rush through any part of the trip.
Seeing the rescue cross and hearing their stories was interesting, such magnificent animals.
Then back to base camp where we got to cool off in the pool with a drink while waiting for our helicopter ride.
The day was perfect, couldn't have asked for more and have already recommend it.

An Adventure not to be missed when in Darwin Other reviews have said it all. It's a fabulous day excursion with plenty to see and do: pontoon boat cruise, airboat ride, helicopter flight It's especially great for people obsessed with crocodiles. Bird lovers will have to bring their own notes, as avian life, although present, does not get much mention. What makes this tour a stand-out is its relative affordability, especially compared to the Finniss River Lodge next door which offers some similar experiences, albeit at prices the average traveller could simply not afford. This is what the operators of Top End Safari Camp have to be congratulated on the most, providing a nature and wilderness adventure at a reasonable price.

Best experience and value in the NT The best value in the NT what a great day the guides were great the scenery was outstanding. Loved the chopper ride but those airboats are out of this world.
Saw plenty of wildlife including crocs and the feeding of the rescue crocs was great some big boys there! I forgot to mention breakfast of the boast yum! We would do this tour again and seeing Matt and his wife Kaia and the kids were a bonus for the day

10/10 from start to finish I booked this experience for my partners birthday present. We planned our whole Darwin trip around this experience and I’d do it again in a heartbeat. From the moment we got picked up right outside our hotel we were greeted by jake who did his best to advise us to any questions we had about Darwin and the whole way to the experience he never once made any questions feel like a stupid one. When we got to the bbq cruise Maddy and Dani welcomed us with a grill full of rashers, eggs and paninis and even though they were cooking for 15+ people they didn’t skimp out on anything ! The food was 10/10 which is uncommon for such an action filled day! We then jumped onto the airboat where Dani was our driver and she made sure to get us to the best possible locations to get the best pictures and her and Jake filled us with knowledge about the crocs and the area. We then ventured up to the rescue pens to feed some of the rescued crocs and heard a little backstory which was an incredible experience would go back again for that alone! Then we got back to the common area where we were greeted by Jaquai the helicopter pilot and she topped off the day with a helicopter tour around the area and she helped spot some crocs and pigs from way above !

Amazinggggg day! We can't recommend Top End Safari Camp enough! From the moment we arrived, the entire team (Matt, Kaia, Jayk, Danni and Maddy) made us feel incredibly welcome. Every staff member was friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely passionate about sharing this spectacular part of the Northern Territory. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and nothing was ever too much trouble. Special shout out to Jayk for being an absolute pocket rocket all day for us!

Top End Safari Camp was, without a doubt, one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. We enjoyed every single minute of our day.

From the moment we arrived, the whole team made us feel incredibly welcome and went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing experience. Matt and Kaia, along with Jake and Dani, were absolutely fantastic—friendly, genuine and always happy to help.

What really stood out was the family atmosphere. It was during the school holidays, and having Matt and Kaia’s kids around made it feel so authentic and welcoming. Even though we arrived as complete strangers, we genuinely felt like part of their community by the time we left.

We’ve already planned that when we come back to Darwin, we’ll definitely be staying in the safari tents for a night or two. After seeing what they have to offer, we know it would make the experience even more special.

This is something everyone visiting Darwin should have on their bucket list. We’d come back every single year if we could. A huge thank you to Matt and Kaia for creating such a special place.

Amazing day An amazing experience from start to finish. The day flowed so well. Each activity was the perfect amount of time. Bus driver Lee was great and gave us some facts about Darwin on our transfer out. Tour guides Dani and Jake were fantastic. It was a beautiful place and well Maintained. They have food and drinks to order. Staff are all kind and friendly. Really good place to unwind, peaceful and quiet. You can even stay overnight glamping, thru have several units around the property and they are big enough and clean. They have a pool in the property too for a dip and swim. We joined their crocodile hunting tour and started with a helicopter ride to have an air view of the reserve and the rivers where these crocodiles live. Then we were on an airboat to be close to the crocodiles in the Finesse River, finding crocodiles along the way and ended in the nursery area. For Lunch, we took a ferry cruising along the river. After lunch, they took us on a bus to a part of their property where they kept their crocodiles in big cages/pens maybe 10 big ones for crocodile feeding. They were given big blocks of meat and a whole cow head for Jaw.

Value Packed Day Tour + What a day! Totally worth the fee & then some. Saw sooo many crocs & beautiful scenery. Everything was planned & timed out perfectly between activities. Lunch was delicious. Experience far outweighed my expectations. Hats off to Jake for his incredible efforts to make our day memorable. 10/10 on all fronts!

Most enjoyable day out, learned a lot about the wildlife and the area toured. Great experience. Well organised and run tour, well worth the cost. Air boat thru the wetlands and saw numerous crocodiles and heaps of bird life, swapped to house boat for quit breakfast cruise on the river.
Then back for feeding of the crocodiles followed by helicopter flight over the wetlands.

An Adventure Filled Day An early start for a fun filled day. Hovercraft through the wetlands was fantastic, as was the helicopter ride and crocodile feeding. Jake was a wealth of information and brought great energy to a day filled with adventure.

We had an absolutely amazing time at Top End Safari Camp! From start to finish, everything was incredibly well organised and thoughtfully put together. Jake, Dani, and little Eli were fantastic hosts and they kept us engaged, entertained, and made the whole experience even more special. You can really tell they love what they do. We loved every activity, especially the chopper flight and the airboat ride. And the sunset… honestly one of the best we’ve ever seen in our lives. Overall, an incredible experience that we’d highly recommend! We’d come back in a heartbeat!

Absolutely the best top end tout This tour exceeded our expectations, so many exciting and unbelievable experiences encompassed in the overall experience of actually being here. The pool, the meals, the staff, huge shout out to Jake and his side kick, 5year old Eli and Dani, amazing kindness and hospitality.
The chopper tour was a ‘bucket list’ the airboat unbelievable and the camp setup just perfect. If you are coming this way, you must do this experience, you will never regret it.

Definitely one to do What a fabulous experience. The tents are spacious and comfy. The battery fan lasted nearly all night which was so welcome. Showering outside under the stars was magical. Jake and Danny are great hosts and cooked a wonderful evening meal and breakfast.
They also both have so much knowledge about the crocs, fish, birds and wildlife.
The two boat trips were very different. The big one relaxing, the air boat great fun.
Tracy took us up in the helicopter and that was fantastic to see it all from the air.
The pool on the deck is the perfect way to chill after all the excitement of the trips and watching Jake feed the crocs. Brave or just mad, lol.
We were lucky to have a great crowd of people and we thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing.

Great day experience. What a surprise! I attended Top End Safari Camp as part of another tour. I knew we were coming here, I had no idea what to expect though.

Our tour started with a quiet cruise down Finnis river where we were provided with a lovely cooked breakfast. So much deliciousness! Plenty of wildlife and a serene way to start the adventures.

Back to base and it was time for an air boat ride. My first ever and how fantastic! So much horsepower - crocodiles, sea eagles and even a goanna on show. Back towards base again and the opportunity to meet some of the resident crocs, and oh boy, these bad boys are huge! Very well taken care of.

Plenty of snacks available back at base with delicious hot chips and plenty for everyone.

Then is was off on a helicopter ride over Finnis station, river and camp. It was an awesome day with so much variety in the activities.

Adventure-packed, jaw-dropping Aussie experience worth every dollar! Top End Safari Camp's day tour is quite simply one of the most adventured-packed, jaw-droppping, Aussie experiences out there. It is so incredibly worth every dollar to experience a variety of things you never get to do in your average day. Air-boats, croc-feeding, helicopter rides, food on a lagoon cruise! They have stepped up their game significantly as well with brilliant guides and safety a huge priority.

Once in a life time A once in a lifetime experience. True outback, but with all the comfort, luxury and safety. Surpassed our expectations.

The crocs are epic. Nothing like getting up so close when the ranger was cutting up a carcass and feeding them. The river and wetlands experiences are just breath taking. It’s hard to describe the beauty.

The camping site is awesome. Landscaped, yet wild native. The red sunset against that backdrop was so special. Great swimming and outdoor area. Tents are spacious, clean and very comfortable.

The team is excellent. Expert in the nature side of things and also in hospitality. In fact we were so pleasantly surprised by the food! Fruit and cheese platters, a lamb and fish dinner, and a hearty cooked breakfast.

NT Outback Glamping, with crocodiles! The experience of Top End Safari Camp is absolutely amazing, from a leisurely cruise along the river to cutting up the waterways on the Airboat or observing the crocodile feeding valiantly and bravely undertaken by our Tour Guide and Host, Jake. The adventure kicked off with a helicopter ride over the property to give us tourists an appreciation of the size and scope of the land, the agricultural presence and other uses and a chance to spot wildlife in the wild environment.

We saw water buffalo, wallabies, jabiru and other birdlife but the crocodiles were lurking below the waterline, out of sight. Not to worry, the trip in the Airboat provided sightings for these majestic creatures of mother nature, including a young female juvenile, affectionally called Sally, in one of the side waterways of the main waterway.

Jake skillfully negotiated the narrow inlets dodging the many fallen trees and branches. Whilst in one of these inlets we were extremely lucky to stop in an area and observe a baby crocodile likely just a year old resting alongside the bank and unperturbed by our presence. The key is to remain respectful of the wildlife and not frighten them. No sign of mum, thankfully!

On our return to the safari campsite, we stopped to feed the crocodiles being tended in the protective enclosures. These captive crocodiles are carefully, and loving being nursed back to health or provided a home after being evicted from a neighbouring property. Somewhere to call home for a while and be safe. Kudos to Matt Wright, Jake and the team for being so caring of these majestic creatures who often cop such a bad wrap.

Brave, courageous (or just plain stupid) Jake was the feeder for the day, not the feed! Three times he bravely entered the enclosures to feed 1. Tarzan, 2. Brown Snake and 3. Jaws. Aptly named creatures. Whilst Tarzan has a feared name, he is the eldest of the trio and slightly easier for Jake to manipulate his will upon. Whilst though he may lack a lot of teeth his jaw snap could still create havoc! He is a rehoused crocodile likely from a performance act as he has a concrete induced sore on his rear right foot.

Brown Snake, so named due to an earlier co-inhabitant of the pen, is a younger livelier crocodile quickly engaging with Jake and put a near perfect demonstration of the skill of a crocodile to manipulate and project such a large body thrusting toward the dangling food in front or at the side of him. He was determined not to give up the chase!

And finally, Jaws' turn. Again, slightly younger and seemed to me to be more ornery and bad tempered than the other two. Just as agile as Brown Snake and super determined to get the meat, no matter what! Less time spent by Jake in this enclosure as he also sensed that today was not the time to antagonize this beast any further, just for our entertainment. Jaws snapped a tooth in his fight for the meat, and it was amazing to hold and admire such an object. Jaws also better demonstrated the huffing, drum like noise made by crocodiles whilst attempting to grab their prey and hold it in their huge mouth.

After returning to the safety of our bus, time to return to camp and collecting tell each tales of the day's activities before enjoying a refreshing dip in the swimming pool, previously checked for crocodiles and snakes!

As a person staying overnight, and after the day trippers departed, we were graciously further hosted by Jake, Siobhan and Erica. These young ladies are Irish tourists on a working holiday in Australia. Jake is a local Darwin lad. Along with the other two guests, Abbi and another Jake - both Irish also currently located in Perth - we relaxed and enjoyed lovely conversation about their travels and experiences of Australia and the locations they have visited and worked in, what they liked or really enjoyed and what they did not. Have to say only one minor dislike the rest was extremely positive.

I hope they are able to extend their stays as they are refreshing and lovely people - all four. Matt Wright should be extremely proud of these young ladies, they give a positive vibe to the guests, and we are well looked after.

An NT sunset, what can you say. Magical, vibrant, colourful and over all too quickly! I guess that what video recording is all about.

Dinner was beautiful. We dined on roast lamb (amazingly cooked, so soft and tender), battered fish, chips and a lovely Greek style salad. Combine a lovely glass of wine and what more could you ask for. Perfection plus!

After dinner, more conversation with the lovely ladies (after they had finished clearing and cleaning dishes) and the evening quickly slipped away with much merriment and laughter.

The still, quiet isolation of the Top End Safari Camp delivers a wonderful experience capped off with a star-studded evening in which to slip off to sleep in the glamping tent. Somehow one mosquito managed to find his way in, good old insect repellant to the rescue!

Well done Matt Wright and team, this experience is truly amazing. It was not on my original itinerary, but I am so pleased it found its way on to it.

Brilliant tour It's absolutely brilliant. Jake was our tour guide, but Elijah (Jake's 4yr son) was so informative he deserved the tip. The boat cruise on the river was very relaxing. The air boat ride was so much fun, and the helicopter ride was the icing on the cake.

Third time This is the third time I’ve been here and each time has been so good. Would highly recommend it. Each time has had something different and staff are the friendliest people.

GREAT EXPERIENCE. This was a very fun experience with lots to do and see. Starts off with a slow cruise down the river with breakfast included followed then by the Airboat looking for Crocodiles and other wildlife. Then watching the feeding of the crocs that are injured and old to then going for a helicopter ride and a swim. Not both at the same time. It was a great experience.

Would Toughly Recommend. Bloody excellent, well looked after, activities were top notch. Special shout out to Jake, Danni, Sinead and Erica who were very accommodating and really appreciate their hospitality. Thank you all very much as well as those behind the scenes.

An amazing experience in the ‘Top End’ Wow !
What an amazing experience , from the helicopter ride, to the boat ride, air boat ride in croc invested waters and overnight stay in a tent . The staff were excellent, friendly , very knowledgeable about crocs and other wildlife in the area (Josh, Dani and Jake to name a few).
Also a big shout out to Sinead and Erica (shorty) two Irish girls who were a great Craic back at the camp .

A GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY SAFARI What an awesome day with a little bit of everything. Morning cruise up the Finnis River with a cooked brunch, airboat up the river spotting crocs and other wildlife, croc feeding with Jake, what a great guy he is, so knowledgeable and very entertaining with his humorous personality. A great asset to the camp. Finish of the day with a swim in the pool and a cold beverage whilst waiting for your turn on the helicopter. Overall an awesome day and a tick off the bucket list.

Excellent , above expectations Our Tripp was amazing, taking our young family on this safari was great, the directions to get there were clear and we were very well looked after, it was so cool to get the real life crock experience yet feel that our young family was in safe hands with the friendly, very experienced tour guides that were able to take us out into the wilderness to see such dangerous wildlife including crocks and birds of pray and beautie in their natural habitat yet feel so safe , the boat rides were great, the food they served us was great country cooking that really hit the spot , there were no unexpected expense’s and I would have to say this is the best tour we have ever experienced , one that our family will remember and cherish for a long time

Top End Safari Day trip A wonderful day viewing a beautiful area of NT. The day was well organised, the staff welcoming, friendly and efficient making our day go smoothly.
The airboat ride was fun, the scenery gorgeous and Josh our guide was informative and had a wicked sense oh humour. Saw plenty of wildlife and got up close to several crocodiles. This was followed by a relaxed river cruise and brunch.
Helicopter flight was a wonderful way to see the landscape.

A True NT experience It’s rustic, it’s in the bush and it is a true safari experience. The helicopter flight was awesome, the boat and Airboat was fantastic. The passion and knowledge for the environment and the Crocs is commendable. All the crew are fantastic and really love what they do. The food and tents are fine but that’s not what it is about. It’s the outback experience which with these guys is outstanding.

Absolutely the best tour. What more could you ask for, air boat ride oh what a thrill, brunch cooked on a cruise boat so relaxing, helicopter ride fantastic views, meeting the crocs for a feed. Fantastic staff, made everyone feel welcome. Jake and your little boy thank you so much for the best trip. I'm honestly planning another trip very soon

Such a brilliant experience. The air boat trip is a stand out. The staff are knowledgeable and so friendly. A big shout out to Jake who was our camp host and boat driver. The food was fabulous. I expected a pretty basic bbq but instead we were served a really lovely selection of food.

Our stay at Outback Safari Camp was nothing short of spectacular from start to finish. Traveling with our three children, we were thrilled to see their eyes light up during every activity—from the heart-pounding roar of the airboat ride to the excitement of feeding saltwater crocodiles up close. The helicopter flight over the floodplain gave us all a bird’s-eye view of this breathtaking landscape, and nothing beat the thrill of landing on a remote billabong for some world-class barra fishing.

Our stay at Outback Safari Camp was nothing short of spectacular from start to finish. Best day tour out of Darwin! My dad and I jumped on this tour last minute and from start to finish it was an amazing day packed full of incredible moments- delicious breakfast and a peaceful river cruise, followed by a very thrilling airboat ride amongst the reeds spotting crocs- it’s amazing how close up you get to them and other wildlife too such as some very impressive eagles. Matt and Jake were so knowledgeable about the crocs, other wildlife, the land and made the tour very interactive! The rescue croc feeding was incredible to see- Matt definitely knows his crocs and their unique personalities very well! Finishing the tour with a helicopter ride was so memorable- awesome to see the whole area from above.
The safari camp itself was also very tranquil and perfect place to unwind with a beer after all the excitement!
Absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Darwin for an experience that feels a lot more immersive than a standard croc tour!

Must do in the NT My partner and I did the half day tour. The airboat was fantastic and a must do if in the NT. It gave a completely new perspective of the waterways and ecosystem. Awesome crew, very welcoming and lots of local knowledge and stories to share.

Family Adventure- for all ages Both grandparents and grandchildren had a fabulous day. The staff were excellent and very personable. All were over the moon to actually meet Matt Wright on top of all their activities. Could not wipe the smiles off their faces. Thankyou

Safari Camp visit If you have ever watched Matt's show on Netflix or you have watched crocodile dundee, you should watch Matt in action.

He knows everything about the crocs. He is an amazing person himself. You should not feel scared at all to go with him. The guys has grown eyes in the back of his had. Has no stress at all. And while you are watching him catch fish, call a croc, Or feed a croc he Will explane what he is doing and why it works this way. The man is amazing!
