McLaren Vale North Hop On Hop Off Tour - In Region Pick Up 11am
Duration:
Operated By:
Just 40 minutes south of Adelaide, McLaren Vale North boasts a spectacular mix of the old and the new set in a lush coastal location. Whether it is the wine styles, the vineyards, or the cellar doors, you will find McLaren Vale’s blend of tradition and innovation unforgettable.
Join our hop-on, hop-off winery tour departing from the McLaren Vale Visitor Information Centre at 11:00 am. Hop on or off at premium wineries along the circuit, taste some of the best wines in Australia, enjoy the scenery, and even fit in a regional lunch.
SCENERY
Set along the Fleurieu coastline, McLaren Vale North offers lush rolling vineyards and hilltop views over the valley and out to the sea. Many wineries are perfectly positioned to showcase the scenery, with picnic areas and seating for guests to enjoy.
WINE
McLaren Vale is now celebrated for both emerging varieties such as Sangiovese and Barbera, as well as classic Shiraz, Grenache, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Shiraz still accounts for around 50% of the crush — and for good reason. Lovers of big, dry reds will appreciate the world-class Shiraz produced in this region.
FOOD
Our trail highlights McLaren Vale’s rich food culture, with options to suit every taste and budget. From grazing platters and fine dining to casual cafés and bakeries, there’s something for everyone. Alternatively, bring a picnic and relax at scenic spots such as Kay Brothers, taking in the serenity and views.
FREEDOM
We give you McLaren Vale North as though you were driving yourself. Join us from the city or within the region and hop on or off along the trail as you please. Staying longer at a cellar door or enjoying a leisurely lunch? No problem — simply catch a later bus. With a little planning (and one of our handy InfoPacks), you truly can tour your way.

From start to finish it was so easy and stress-free. The flexibility to hop on and off at different wineries meant we could take our time, enjoy tastings, have lunch, and really soak up everything the Barossa has to offer without worrying about tasting fees, lunch or planning logistics, just a relaxed day of amazing wines, beautiful scenery, and good vibes. Dean was friendly, knowledgeable, and kept everything running smoothly.
If you’re looking for a fun, well-organised way to explore the Barossa Valley, I highly recommend TrailHopper. We’ll definitely be back! 🍇🥂
I find it is one of the easiest ways to see one of Adelaide's major wine regions without being locked into a large group of strangers and without spending and arm & leg.
I have done about six tours now and each one has been fantastic. The drivers are always so jovial and knowledgeable, the buses clean & comfortable and locations beautiful. I strongly recommend for any small group wanting to try some of Adelaide's best wineries, but without requiring a deso.
I chose Trailhopper above all the other options I researched, as I wanted choice and flexibility on where to go, but also a knowledgeable driver to facilitate that, and not pay a fortune.
These guys are extremely organised, friendly and professional. Very good knowledge on the areas as well. Cant recommend them enough.
Great driver. Trips are well organised but with plenty of choice and independence. A great way to experience Adelaide’s wine regions.
All the venues were great and the day ran very smoothly.
Lorry (our driver) was super friendly and gave us plenty of good recommendations for the venues, thank you for a fab day!
Not only did he get us around safely and on time, but he’s also a history teacher and an absolute wealth of knowledge. He shared the facts, stories, and local insights throughout the day, which made the whole experience even more special. His personality, humour, and passion for the region added so much to the tour and really elevated our day.
I forgot to say, I left my bag on the bus, Yvette called me and arranged for it to be returned to Hahndorf the next day, thanks Yvette
The experience was smooth and well-organised. Our driver and guide, along with his mate, were absolutely excellent — friendly, knowledgeable, and made the trip so enjoyable. The group was great too — such a fun and friendly bunch! Highly recommend this tour for a relaxed day of good wine, beautiful scenery, and great company.
You can tell he (and I’m sure the rest of the guides) has a deep passion for these glorious wine regions, and we were lucky to have such an amazing experience with TrailHopper. Can’t wait to tick another region off my list on my next trip back to Adelaide.
Highly recommend this tour for people who want the flexibility in creating their own day out. Five stars!
Yvette runs like clockwork.
Yvette made sure all our bookings were in order, offered thoughtful suggestions to help us make the most of our time, and created such a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Her friendly energy and attention to detail really elevated the experience.
We loved the flexibility of the hop-on, hop-off format and the ease of visiting multiple wineries without the hassle of driving. Highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting a fun, well-organised, and scenic day out in McLaren Vale!
