Tour review Now that lm older l take tours as the people have expect local knowledge this was one of those tours Neal the owner has vast local experience of local Canberra history having had a wide range of former occupations the bus was nice @cool never hot @a nice mix of people even a couple from San Diego USA so thoughout the day we went to the main attractions 2parliments ( old@new) Duntroon army academy drive though mount anslie Canberra exhibition city drive though explaining various land marks lunch stop was new parliment then war memorial latter in afternoon for the last post closing ceremony floral tributes placed plus a bag piper playing a very moving avent all in all l would thoughly recommend neals tour to anyone wishing to learn more about Canberra

Great tour with very knowledgeable guide who made it fun Thoroughly enjoyable day, Neil made it fun and informative and his knowledge about the workings of Parliament is extensive. The stops were all of the right length allowing enough time to get e feel for each place. I would recommend to anyone.

1st Time in Canberra Darryl was our tour guide and he was awesome. He was very knowledgeable and such a pleasure to talk to. I really enjoyed being able to see a number of fantastic site in Canberra without having to worry about driving or even thinking. I was here in Canberra on a business trip. I told my business associates, who are locals, about where Darryl took us and they were impressed that we were able to see so much in one day. Everywhere we went on this tour was exactly what they said they would have recommended someone new to the area should see. I think Darryl was very friendly and a great conversationalist. Definitely great value! Neil’s commentary was interesting and informative and fun! The areas travelled give a great overview of Canberra. My 13 year old granddaughter was very impressed and would also recommend this tour. The small group size is a plus (in my opinion). The option to participate in the Last Post ceremony was a highlight.

The perfect introduction to Canberra - do this as your first activity We were going on a short mini break to Canberra and wanted to ensure we maximised our stay. We had seen how highly rated tour this was on Trip Adviser so booked early. We were not disappointed. It really was a great experience and Neil was the perfect guide. The whole tour was so well planned giving you a full understanding of the how, where and when surrounding the city’s founding and its history to date, a thorough explanation of how the Parliamentary system works in Australia and ideas of what to do on subsequent days. It was all delivered in a very informative but light touch manner by someone who had a great breadth and depth of knowledge. Neil was always ready and willing to answer questions. We’d really recommend this as the first days’ activity in Canberra.

Wildlife experience plus more Although we have lived in Australia for many years and have seen kangaroos and koalas in multiple locations, this tour is still worth mentioning. The tour guide, Neil, is very friendly and knowledgeable. He explained the different species of wallabies and kangaroos and introduced an interesting app for birdwatchers. He also fulfilled my wish to spot a platypus in the wild. Another highlight was the NASA deep space radio tower, which came with a very interesting story. As we were the only group on the day, he even dropped us back at our accommodation. I would highly recommend this tour.

We went on a guided tour on Sunday with a lovely man called Neil. He was friendly, very informative about all aspects of Canberra. Even better he made everyone on the tour feel comfortable, and had an amazing sense of humour. Recommend the tour if you're ever going to Canberra.

Simon was our guide on an all day tour of Canberra and he was exceptional. Good pacing, clearly able to hear and understand him, very knowledgable. We were very lucky that we only had about 6 people on our tour that day so that made it even more enjoyable. Nice group. Minivan/bus was comfortable and easy to get in and out of. I learned a lot about Canberra and Australia. I highly recommend this tour.

Very Informative and Safe The tour guide, Neil, not only provided up close views of the promised kangaroos and koalas but also the red-necked wallaby and the black/swamp wallaby! The most unexpected and special parts of the tour were spotting an Emu as soon as we entered the reserve and the opportunity to see a pond where platypuses (platypodes?) live! A mix of luck and Neil's expert knowledge allowed us to actually get close enough to see the beak and the body of a platypus as it dove around the pond. If this all wasn't enough, Neil specializes in birds and was able to provide a wealth of information on the various birds we spotted during the tour. He was even able to show us the location of a very successful bowerbird and his meticulously crafted bower. Overall it was a wonderful and informative experience where I felt comfortable and safe the entire time with Neil and the other solo female traveler that joined us. There is no cell reception for most of the tour, so keep that in mind. I also recommend closed toe shoes, long trousers, and a light jacket or sweater during the cooler months. Amazing tour, huge thanks to Neil for the great experience!

Full Day Highlights of Canberra We had an absolutely wonderful tour of the capital with Canberra Guided Tours.
Neil was our guide and he proved to be a wealth of information, not at least about Australian politics and history. Difficult questions were answered clearly and meticulously.
The whole tour was above eight hours long and a fantastic introduction to Australia and particularly the uniqueness of Canberra for us.

Great full-day tour with all highlights of Canberra. Interesting (fun) facts on the tour of the Old Parliament House and Australian Parliament House. The drive through Canberra’s diplomatic district was enjoyable. We had time to spend in the old and new Parliament Houses and especially in the Australian War Memorial, which was a moving experience.

Not to be missed. Do this tour first to understand Canberra. What a great tour to take to see so much in one day. Slight confusion on the pickup time which changed a few times and once without telling us so we had to hang around for 30 minutes.
Anyway, all great news after that. Excellent guide, comfortable mini bus.
The guide, Neil, added so many stories to the facts that kept us engaged throughout. So many interesting places. Weather was inclement so the guide changed the order so we could have the best views.
He would stop in so many extra places so we could see churches, memorials and Kangaroos even.
Thoroughly recommended. We think we prefer Canberra to Sydney!

We had such an amazing day with Canberra Guided Tours. From the first stop at Mount Ainslie looking down over the city to exploring Old and New Parliament House, everything felt meaningful and well-paced. The guide made the stories of Canberra’s history really come alive — funny at times, emotional at others. The most moving moment for me was finding my ancestors’ names at the War Memorial. It was something I’ll never forget. The tour ran smoothly, the bus was comfortable, and I came away with a new appreciation for Canberra and its history.

Canberra Floriade Tour The tour was very good. The most memorable visit was to Tulip Top Gardens. Absolutely beautiful. Every place we visited was very interesting. The National Arboretum and the Bonsai Display were outstanding. Floriade was very busy and very crowded on the day. The tulips on display were wonderful. We loved the variety of colours. Went for a ride on the train which took us all around the grounds. Very enjoyable for us as we are senior citizens. We would like to thank Neil for being an excellent tour guide and for every assistance that he gave us.

A History Buff's Delight Neil was an exceptional guide, who provided a comprehensive explanation of the planning and building of Canberra. When we were in the various Parliament buildings, several of the security personnel informed our group that we had the best guide available. Clearly Neil is well respected. The War Memorial was quite moving and a solemn end to a great day.

Excellent tour. Opened our eyes to Canberra Neil, our tour guide, was excellent, informative and funny. Neil had a great knowledge about the place, politics and people of Canberra. The tour covered many aspects of Australia's relationship with itself and wider world, including the beautiful vista, Parliament House(s) as well as a sombre and respectful visit to the Australian War Memorial to hear the Last Post Ceremony.

A true tour of highlights Excellent day tour of Canberra taking in many of the well-known sites - Mt Ainslie, MOAD, Parliament House, Embassies- but also included some of the less known eg Changi Chapel, Duntroon. Tour leader Neil has an incredible knowledge of the city, its history, quirky facts and has a great sense of humour. Tour group was small - 4 people- which allowed an individualised and relaxed approach. Day finished with the poignant last post ceremony at AGM before we were returned to our respective accommodation.

wonderful tour of tidbinbilla and surrounds This was a wonderful experience led by our friendly and well-informed guide, Neil! We were very pleased to see wombats, koalas, kangaroos, platypuses, and wallabies (as well as many different types of birds). I found the stopover at the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex to be particularly interesting. It was also great to be able to just look out the window at the landscapes without worrying about driving. Highly recommended!

Best way to get a intro into Canberra I knew from the moment Neil stopped to pick us up we were in for a good day. Neil is very observant of his clients and gets to know them very quickly with an excellent sense of humour. That's a plus. His knowledge of Canberra, history, politics and general information is continuously fascinating.

This is the weirdest review, but I wanted to come back a year after my Canberra Highlights day tour and tell you this tour was the moment I decided to move to Australia and try to become an Australian. It was visiting MOAD, the war memorial, and parliament - and the passionate, smart education I got about this country and its history, triumphs, and challenges that pushed me to finally do it. I’m now a resident of Melbourne but hope to visit a lot.
