Great day out Fantastic! Neil was great, had a bit of an issue with booking through app, but so happy I chose this Company.
Plenty of time at each location. Was really looking forward to seeing the butterfly forest, and a little disappointed, but that was due to time of season.

Fabulous experience We loved this tour. Neil gave us a comprehensive run down of the history, development and, most Importantly, the unique character of the Island. We ventured off the beaten track so saw things we never would have otherwise. Neil was entertaining and very informative. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this tour to everyone, young and old.

Great day on Maggie An excellent tour to gain an overall view of Magnetic Is. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we saw many things we would not have known about if doing a DIY explore. Travel from Townsville very easy with the SeaLink ferry , and the tour better value than taking our own car or hiring on Magnetic.

We had a fantastic tour around the island. Managed to see wallabies, bats, butterflies and a koala. The melting moments for morning tea were delicious. Highlights were our excellent guide and the information we learnt about the island. Swimming at Horseshoe Bay and the lagoon walk were highlights too. Thoroughly recommend this tour.

Fabulous, informative for all ages Tim was awesome. Accommodating and made the rainy wet season day super enjoyable nonetheless. We had a 4 month old and two sassy teenagers and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Great facts and knowledge with a combination of lived experience made for a fun filled tour. Recommend to anyone looking to do Maggie and see all the beaches and hot spots. We even got to meet some Koala and felt very privileged for the up close and personal experience

Amazing guided tour with Tim Such a fantastic tour! My friend and I went with Tim around the island. He was super friendly and knew so much about the island and the native wildlife and vegetation. We saw a lot of different places around the island and a lot of native wildlife. We saw sharks, fed Wallaby’s, saw a lot of birds, small reef fish, and of course koalas! I just want to go back. Our trip to Magnetic Island was absolutely amazing. We did the Magnetic Island behind the scenes tour with Magnetic Island Tours and Tim was our guide. If you can get him do so. His stories were really interesting and we got a visit to his sanctuary and Koala rescue service.
Magnetic Island is named appropriately. The atmosphere and lifestyle just wants to suck you back.

All you wanted to know about Magnetic Island! The tour is good value for money and takes approximately 5 hours. It includes a stopover for visitors to choose a venue for a beach side lunch (your own expense), to relax and have a swim. Neil, the Owner/Operator is very personable and interacts with all ages (on our tour ages from 10 to 80+). We travelled in a mini van from one side of the island to the other. Neil filled us in on Maggie's history, fun facts, the wildlife, geology, food, environment, reef, etc. There were stops for short walks and photo opportunities. As the title implies, this tour is indeed comprehensive (and entertaining).

Neil’s knowledge and tour guiding was excellent Neil was an excellent tour guide. We left the tour with so much knowledge regarding the island and every question that was asked was answered. We enjoyed some free time in Horse shoe bay which involved a recommended lunch and a swim in the bay. The butterfly walk was something we’d never seen before and Neil also helped us find our first Koala in the wild. Thank you Neil for a fun and enjoyable tour of the beautiful island, we hope to be back again !

Satisfied and happy Well worth the money to on the magnetic island tours. We learn a lot, plus we have the van for just us and my friends. An amazing insight into Magnetic Island with a very knowledgeable and entertaining guide. The tour with Tim is definitely off the beaten track. From the pick up at the ferry terminal to delivery back in time for the 3pm ferry we loved every minute. Tim is clearly passionate about his home island and the wildlife that lives there and it seems most people know him as well.
From finding and feeding Rock Wallabies, to getting the history of old ferry terminals, rock formations to the highlight of seeing his Koala Hospital, this trip was informative to the extreme.
You can also tell he is immensely proud of his daughter Izzy and his wife for the work they put in at the Koala Hospital.

At Horseshoe bay we had just the right amount of time for lunch and as we drove past the strip of restaurants we got the run down and critique summary for them all to help our choices.

All in all a highly recommended trip to see exactly what it says "behind the scenes". No tour coaches here, just a friendly 16 seater!

Fantastic family experience The tour was a wonderful experience for the family. Kids were so excited about seeing koalas, rock wallabies and seeing Izzy (tick, tick and tick). Tim is such a friendly and knowledgeable guide, with a few dad jokes thrown in.

Magnetic Island with a local Magnetic Island afternoon tour is the perfect stressfree way to see the island highlights if you only have one day or would be a good introduction to the island if staying longer. We had some time in Townsville in the morning then caught the Sealink ferry over.The local guide Neil gave us options and did not rush us at all. We learnt so much about the island and its history. Saw lots of butterflies on the walk , the local wallabies, curlews and even a koala.

This was simply one of the most fascinating, comfortable, sociable and enjoyable guided tours I've ever experienced. Tim has found a wonderful balance of expressing his love and knowledge of the island along with humour, consideration, and patience. It was a great pleasure, and thank you again, Tim.

An unforgettable lifetime experience! This was an AMAZING tour of a beautiful island. The shuttle held 18-20, and we stopped so many more places than the huge 50-60 people excursion buses did. It was a personal tour by a 40+ year island resident who knew every corner (and nearly every resident) of Magnetic Island. I booked directly through their website. For a similar tour, with fewer stops and less personal, my fellow cruise passengers bought a ship excursion for 3x as much! We fed wallabies, koalas, saw many off-the-path places. BEST tour I took on entire cruise! 100% recommend. Book early via website!

Well organised tour by operator. The guide was waiting for us at the ferry terminal when we exited the ferry and continued to keep us entertained all day Crocodile Dundee style. Being a local he took us to interesting places and beautiful beaches. He was passionate about Australian wildlife and gave us a great insight into various animals on the Island.

Thrilled with our behind the scenes 4.5 hour tour with Tim (funny and knowledgeable). Make sure you arrange and book your own ferry transport in advance as it is not included and starts on the island. This was an excellent value and great way to get an overview of Maggie to see how you might do it on your own next time. There are only 10km of roads so much of your time is spent at stops and your 1 hour lunch on your own at horseshoe bay. We got a special treat to see Tim's land where he is growing food for koalas, as well as his hospital for koala rehab (this was a special treat and not on all tours). Highly recommended and had a great time.

Excellent Company & Guide for Maggie Intro Excellent tour provided by Tim, who had an excellent sense of humor and answered everyone's questions. We really felt like we had a great overview of everything on the island after this 4.5 hour (inclusive of 1 hour lunch on your own) trip. Even though it is listed on every communication, we still had people not understand that the tour starts ON Magnetic Island and you have to arrange your own ferry transport. Instead of the fort walk, Tim took us to his ranch and his Koala hospital, both of which were excellent and a great surprise. Highly recommended!

Relaxed and informative day tour. An informative and fun day. A small group tour which was made interesting and enjoyable by our guide, Tim. Great interaction with the wildlife on the island and his knowledge of the diverse plant life enhanced the tour. The spectacular scenery and wonderful bays and beaches make for a great day. We were given a wonderful three hour tour, from feeding rock wallabies to beautiful scenery along with brilliant local history. Think this tour will take a lot of beating on our travels.

The best bit about behind the scene tour of the Koala Hospital not usually on the tour but wow what an experience. Up close with a koala where most people charge you for the experience. We will be sending a donation to the hospital to thank them for allowing us to do this.

Maggie Island Tour as solo traveller The Maggie Comprehensive tour was an incredible way to experience Magnetic Island. The scenic views and wildlife encounters were unforgettable, with spotting koalas and rock-wallabies being absolute highlights. The tour was well-paced, with an air-conditioned bus taking us to each location, ensuring a comfortable and unrushed experience.

Our guide was charismatic and deeply knowledgeable about the island, sharing fascinating history and unique facts that you wouldn’t easily find online. A visit to a small museum run by a local historian added an authentic touch to the experience.

The atmosphere was welcoming and enjoyable, especially for solo travelers like me. This isn’t a strenuous tour, so it’s perfect for people of all ages and fitness levels. I’d highly recommend it to both groups and solo travellers looking to explore the best of Magnetic Island in comfort and style!

So many stories and insights into the history, nature and people of the island that really allowed me to enjoy the rest of my Maggie time so much more. I've been a few times to the island but this took my understanding to a new level. Neil was super friendly and open to any questions. Even his dad jokes were good.

Brilliant day, great value for money! Brilliant day, great value for money. The bus is waiting for you in the ferry terminal car park, the ferry process itself is easy to navigate. Neil was an excellent tour guide, very knowledgeable and his passion for the island was infectious. It felt like we covered every inch of the island and Neil was never short of interesting facts. Unfortunately we were not able to see any koalas but we were lucky enough to see and feed some wild wallabies. The length of the tour was perfect and Neil kindly offers to drop you anywhere on the island if you wanted to stay. There is no requirement to leave the island after the tour but we felt as though we had done and seen everything. Magnetic Island is definitely worth a visit and if you do we’d highly recommend this tour.

Had the best day. Had a wonderful time with Neil, had my brother & sister in law from Buffalo NY enjoying all the scenery and wildlife. Bought back so many memories of when I went to Maggie as a teenager in the 1960's. Had not been there for a few years and oh how the place has changed. Thoroughly enjoyed our day.
