This carefully designed tour takes you on a journey of Melbourne’s most famous landmarks. It’s the street art, the laneways, and the amazingly beautiful arcades that makes Melbourne one of the most creative cities in the world. However, much of these icons of culture are hidden and hard to find. This tour is led by and Australian artist, who has spent much time creating art on and exploring the walls, lanes and hidden spaces of Melbourne. Our artists tour guides will take you off the beaten track to show you the CBD’s best hidden treasures, strangest histories, and quirky stories that is part of the make-up of Melbourne.
Learn all about the art, architecture, history and stories behind the urban art movement, arcades, public sculpture, and landmarks from a respected Melbourne artist.
The tour finishes at the world famous Blender Studios where you will be treated to an exclusive studio tour, get to meet the artists and see them at work in Melbourne’s last independent art studio.
Top it off with a gourmet selection of market-fresh produce, beer, wine, and soft drinks as you wander through the incredible Blender Studios.
What’s included:

Overall, this tour is worth it for the insider perspective, to understand what we were looking at and the significance of even the smallest details, from freshly painted to faded hidden gems. Thanks Ben and Blender Studios for a great time! We highly recommend :)
He took us to a wide variety of street art, explained what we were looking at and gave us some info about the artist. What an amazing experience!
To top it off we went back to a co-operative where his studio is and we met and chatted to other artists about their work.
We did not discover hidden lane ways you would never expect in Melbourne— rather, we primarily trolled the obvious offshoots from Flinders, including Hosier Lane and AC/DC Lane, both of which we had already wandered on our own.
Our guide looked uncomfortable throughout and spoke so quietly that it was impossible for our group to all hear him.
The absolute low point was boarding a tram, not to find more tagged streets, but rather to head to “the studio” — which took all the charm out of street art and candidly felt like being taken to someone’s brother’s rug factory
Our guide Louis was personable & chilled, and gave an informative & interesting outline of the history, techniques & “rules” of the scene. We loved his works both on the street and in the studio. My teens thought he was “very cool!”, and the tour was their favourite experience of our trip.
Ending the tour by being shown around Blender Studios and artist’s working spaces was a an excellent component.
Highly recommended!
Visiting the studio was equally impressive. Seeing the incredible work they’re creating and the artistic talent assembled there was inspiring. I strongly recommend spending time at the studio and taking the full tour. It’s an experience you don’t want to miss.
Blender is the place we will visit, when coming back.
Thanks for an excellent experience.
The standard of the art we saw was amazing. This tour gave us a better understanding of the amount of thought and talent that went into creating these works of art. We have a new found appreciation of street art which adds to our enjoyment of all these special spaces.
It was informative and Tom our guide was smart and articulate and showed a genuine love for his craft and his fellow artists work.
We got to see a lot of different art work and styles and places in and around Melbourne excellent afternoon.
Drinks at the artists studio where very welcoming at the end of the day, thanks Blender Studios
Ben was so knowledgeable and happy to share.
Eats and drink at the end was appreciated
Glad we did it!
We also enjoyed seeing the studio, artists work areas and the appetisers and wine. What a nice way to finish the tour.
