My daughter and I enjoyed our tour around the island with our guide, Shauna. There was only 5 of us on the tour and we went to Seal Bay, the north and south of the island. There were plenty of wild life including koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, and sheeps!! Shauna knew everyone and everything about the island. The bbq lunch was exceptional. Love the whole experience!

Exploring and Learning at its most enjoyable An absolutely first rate experience. Our guide, over 2 days, "Shona" seemed to know everything and everyone. She didn't just recite facts but shared her love of the island with us.

The full Kangaroo island package. We had a semi-private three day tour with Rick, an Exceptional Kangaroo guide. We saw all of the highlights, with extraordinary personal, local info from, Rick, an island native and experienced guide. Rick was the perfect combination of a competent, knowledgeable guide with a calm, pleasant, modest personality.

Exceptional service Highly recommended tour of the island . We spent a full day with guide Dave suppling us with interesting facts and information together with a delicious lunch. Professional, friendly service was provided.

Very happy with the 3 day / 2 night package from Exceptional Husband and I did a 3 day/2 night vacation package from Exceptional Kangaroo. The first day was a pick in Adelaide, a McLaren Vale tour, and a drop off at the Kangaroo Island Ferry in Cape Jervis. The next 2 days were the Flinders Chase and Island Life tours from Exceptional. Communication prior was great and no hiccups with all the pieces. Shawna and Dave (our tour guides) were excellent. And good at preparing fabulous lunches. Just be warned that KI is 10% larger than the state of Rhode Island (set a guide for Americans ;-) . So there is a lot of travelling to get around. It's good to have experienced tour guides!

Excellent day on Kangaroo Island We had a delightful day. Lee provided many options to enjoys the fascinating sights of Kangaroo Island. We happened upon an echidna while driving and a koala was in a tree just at our lunch stop ( which was marvelous by the way). Others that shared the tour with us will be remembered as special friends.

Great Way to See a Beautiful Island We did the two day tour. Day one was a tour of the Island focusing on wildlife, beaches and Seal Bay. Day two was primarily a tour of Flinder's Chase National Park.

Day one was a dream come true. Our guide Mar was out of this world. She was friendly, knowledgeable, flexible and helpful. We started with a stop at Seal Bay and her explanation of the history of sea lions and seals was really informative. We spent the rest of the day between beautiful beaches,a secluded spot for lunch and up close encounters with koala's sleeping in trees, kangaroos in multiple locations and wallabies. We also stopped at a very nice distillery. The day couldn't have been better and Mar was so accommodating that it felt more like exploring a beautiful place with an old friend that being on a tour.

Our second day was with Shauna looking at areas impacted by a fire that devastated the Island and then exploring Flinder's Chase. Shauna was very knowledgeable and, as a long term resident seemed to know the story of every farmhouse we passed.
The park is beautiful and has lots to see. My only complaint is that this tour involves an enormous amount of driving since our hotel was closer to the opposite end of the Island.

Just a wonderful day We were blessed in having Mark as our allocated guide for the day. He was simply the most knowledgeable, engaging , professional guide. There were just the two of us on the tour so he could ‘personalise’ the tour for us.

Ascertaining that we were interested in birdlife allowed him to develop the day beyond the more obvious photogenic subjects (koalas etc) . We struck gold as Mark showed us a wide range of birdlife we’d have otherwise missed. The highlight was a pair of the threatened red tailed black cockatoos.

Nothing was too much trouble for Mark, we’d go on a tour with him anywhere safe in the knowledge we’d come away more informed than when we started.

Top tour, top fella, this day was one of the real highlights of our long tour of SA. If you’ve any interest in wildlife, history, nature and ecology this tour is for you.

Exceptional Private Photo Tour We did a 2-day Private Photography Tour with their hired vehicle and interpretive guide for just the 2 of us. Dave was amazing. We asked to focus on the island wildlife and the iconic landscapes. Without Dave, we would never have captured the photos and videos. We simply would not have known where to find the wildlife at various times of the day. We saw kangaroos including a joey in mama's pouch. We saw a joey wallaby nursing. We saw various bird species in a beautiful lagoon, adolescent fur lions playing on the rocks in Cape du Couedic, and the Seal Bay Conservatory where the Australian sea lion pups were running around on shore. And the koalas were adorable and very photogenic. The photo ops were amazing! Additionally, we strolled through the Remarkable Rocks and walked right up to Admiral's Arch. Lunches were prepared for us each day by Dave in the bush and on a cliff overlooking the ocean. While driving to different locations, Dave shared his knowledge of the wildlife, the history of the island and the culture. We can't say enough good things about our experience and about Dave, who was very instrumental in helping us capture some amazing photos but was also patient in giving us as much time as we needed. Even if you are an accomplished photographer, this tour is for you because the guide provides the opportunities to capture those once-in-a-lifetime shots. We highly recommend this tour!!!

Any amazing two days! We had an amazing two days on the island enjoying the wildlife everywhere. Everyone was welcoming and willing to share their time and experiences. One of our guides, Roberta Esquincalha, has a deep appreciation for the wildlife and went out of her way to ensure we saw the wildlife she loves. Shared below are some of photos taken with my phone.

Great Tour on Kangaroo Island Really enjoyed our 2 days on Kangaroo Island. Debated about visiting after the fires but it was well worth the time. Our guide was born and raised on KI and knew just where to find interesting wildlife. Very interesting to see how the island has recovered.

Absolutely fantastic day! Arnie went out of his way to make this our best tour in Australia. He knew all of the spots to see the best of Kangaroo Island. We even had tea with Kangaroos and lunch in the bush. We highly recommend this company and Arnie in particular!!

We enjoyed the tour with Exceptional Kangaroo Island Small Group Tours and Franck Vigouroux as our dedicated guide. It was a great day and aside from the Island wild life interaction I was able to introduce myself to the delicious fish "WHITING" that is also my namesake / last name. The " al fresco " lunch prepared by Chef Franck was a big hit and being able to visit the Island Gin Distillery was an awesome way to finish off the day's activities. Highly recommend a day with Franck if the option exists.

Excellent exceptionally good tour This was a truly brilliant tour. We saw a huge amount of wildlife during the day: koalas, wallabies, sea lions and kangaroos. Craig was very knowledgeable about
Kangaroo island in terms of history, way of life and how life has evolved there. He was able to find the wildlife with his local knowledge, and we learnt a huge amount about the different animals. He also explained about the really frightening times that people on the island had during the terrible fire of 2019/2020, but showed us how the trees and plants are regenerating. The recovery of nature on the island was just fantastic to see. He told us about rewilding work on Kangaroo Island and other conservation work. Craig also cooked a top quality lunch on a BBQ with a covered table. The food was excellent and we were amazed how he produced such an excellent meal. We learnt so much from Craig that day, the memories will last for a very long time. We were also really grateful to Exceptional Kangaroo
Island in showing us great flexibility as we had to postpone our visit and this tour for a whole year due to serious illness. We were so pleased they honoured our booking from 2023. Thanks so very much

Exceptional tours are indeed exceptional We spent two fantastic days with Mark, our guide from Exceptional Kangaroo Tours, on our 3-day visit to Kangaroo Island this past March. He picked us up promptly, drove us to wonderful sights around the island, including Flinders National Park and Seal Bay, made us two fantastic lunches and took us swimming at Stokes Bay, a gorgeous beach with a very unique "entrance." His careful searching for wildlife got us right in front of koalas, wallabies, kangaroos, seals and so on. He was very knowledgeable about the island, history, wildlife, the landscape and so on, and enhanced our time on the island immeasurably. Highly recommended tour!

Exhilarating Day! My husband and I spent a full day with Franck, and it was an absolutely exhilarating experience. Our goal was to see koalas, kangaroos and wallabees in the wild, and Franck helped us find many (20 koalas! Plus so much more). In addition, Franck made us a lovely picnic lunch. He was great company and was very knowledgeable. We highly recommend him.

We used Exceptional Kangaroo Island for Island Life and Fine Flavors tours in March 2024. We had Franck V. for these tours. I cannot begin to tell you have absolutely wonderful Franck is - knowledgeable, funny, patient, kind, and if that wasn’t enough, a fantastic chef! His love of the island is palpable. We visited the Australian Sea Lions, which are critically endangered, and he talked about them as if he was one of the conservationists. He spoke of their hard lives, educated us on how plastics are the number one threat, made sure we didn’t get near them on the walkway so we didn’t accidentally get sand in their eyes. We learned how to spot Koalas in the trees, tasted local honey and spirits, learned the history of the island and his role in fighting the fires that devastated the island in 2020. And then, he cooked us a lunch that was beyond. King George whiting with lemon and white wine, a simple salad, fruits, all under a canopy where we talked with the others on the tour in a relaxed atmosphere. Franck creates that atmosphere so you can absorb all that Kangaroo Island has to offer.

As the lucky winner of a day trip for 4 people with owner Craig Wickham, we spent a fantastic day with Craig learning things about Kangaroo Island we did not know, and visited places we have never been. His generous donation to the Art Museum of KI is a tribute to him and his business. We were spoilt with a delicious lunch and having a diverse group with us that have lived on KI for 17 years and some that had never been here, he was able to tailor the day to make it interesting and exciting for all.

My husband and I were absolutely blown away by Exceptional Kangaroo Island. Run by quick witted, highly educated and thoroughly friendly guides; we arrived hoping for pictures of koalas and kangaroos and left absolutely moved by the islands beauty and its inhabitants stout character. We learned about the delicate ecosystem, the various approaches locals have taken to find the right balance of tourism and conservation, the perilous fires of 2019-2020 and their impact on both residents and animals. The landscape is the most iconic Australian land you could imagine; gorgeous beaches, golden rolling hills, fragrant eucalyptus forests and picturesque bluffs. Our guide Tim Williams was absolutely excellent in every way- his tour was equally entertaining and informative and he was great at gauging the groups interests and making adjustments when needed. We could not have asked for a better guide nor more impactful experience. Thank y’all so much!!

Kangeroo Island is a fantastic Island; and with a guide it can be an experience for life. We had two beatiful days ! Kangaroo Island is a teriffic island. The birds and animals on the island are exotic, and you can see them in their natural environment. This is so much better experience compared to go to a Zoo. The excellent guide will also give you a lot of knowledge about the Island and the rare anamals who live here. On the trip you are served exelent food too. We are very satisfied with our experience, and we had two fantastic days here!

Absolutely FANTASTIC 2 day tour of the island. Mark, our guide so so knowledgeable, kind, a great cook and server, and overall great person! He took us to places that we never would have found on our own. Saw so many kangaroos, koalas, wallabies, and echidnas.
He was a patient and let us explore and spend as much time as needed at different locations. The morning tea and coffee along with Anzac biscuits and lamingtons were scrumptious. Lunches were yummy and beautifully presented in a unique setting. Thank you for this Exceptionally unique and informative experience.

Disappointing experience on the Flinder's Chase Tour My husband and I did 2 full days with Exceptional Kangaroo Island on our honeymoon, as suggested by our travel agent.

We did the Island Life Tour and the Flinders Chase tour. We had wanted to do them in that order but upon arrival, found that the company swapped our days to maximize how many people they could put on each tour van. That makes sense. However, on that first day (Flinders Chase tour), they packed every seat full in an older van that was way too squished and had poor visibility out the windows. We could hardly see out and my husband got really claustrophobic for the first couple hours until we were able to get out and switch him around with other passengers to fit better.

One of the other women on our tour complained about the experience to the guide who said they haven’t been able to get a new van since covid and they’re received this complaint from other groups before. The company knew it would be a very unpleasant experience, and yet proceeded with accepting as many reservations as they did.

Additionally, the Flinder’s Chase Tour specifically was a TON of time riding around in the van versus being out seeing and doing things. It’s tough because we wanted to visit the landmarks on the island and those take time to drive to, so we understand that a good amount of time in the van is necessary, but when we got there it was like we’d get out for a few minutes and wander around, then go back in the van. I can see how that would be desirable for the other folks on our tour who were all retirement age and older. But for us, who are in our 20's and enjoy being active and maximizing our time spent in each place we travel to, this tour was frustrating and disappointing, especially for how much we spent on it.

The 2nd day for the Island Life Tour was better. We had a newer van that was bigger with better visibility out the windows and less people packed in it. Much more comfortable. We spent more time outside looking at animals and learning about our surroundings.

If I were to do Kangaroo Island again, I would rent a car so that we can have much more flexibility and our ability to get around the island would not be so limited. We could have seen all of the landmarks but also be able to spend more time outside walking/hiking. I probably still would have done the Island Life Tour because it was great to have a guide to educate us. But for the landmarks that we saw on the Flinder’s Chase Tour, we could have googled information about what we were looking at and had the same/better experience.

I want to mention that after the first day, we were told the company owner could call us to rectify the situation, but we never received a call. That is the primary reason I feel compelled to leave this review.

Overall, I do still believe the Exceptional Kangaroo Island is the best touring option on the Island (as we heard that from a few local people), but encourage them to prioritize the customer experience (which should result in more profit over time) over maximizing short term profits. I understand that small companies are still hurting from covid, and specifically KI companies who are still recovering from the fires, and that I do not have visibility to their business strategy; these are my 2 cents.

Great look at the animals that make KI so special I was picked up when I arrived at Kangaroo Island airport and enjoyed a small group tour of the island. (I had wanted to do an overnight tour, but the second day was fully booked.) There were only five people on my tour and our guide was excellent.

Among the animals we saw on Kangaroo Island were several koalas and kangaroos, as well as several species of birds. It was nice to visit some remote spots that were off-the-beaten-path. A highlight of the day was the opportunity to walk on the same beach as the Australian sea lions. Lunch was lovely with grilled whiting and salad.

Exceptional Kangaroo Island also booked a shuttle bus to the ferry terminal after my tour. I caught the evening ferry to the mainland and then had a two hour bus ride to Adelaide. It was a long, but enjoyable day.

Outstanding visit We are an older couple from the US. We visited Kangaroo Island in September of 2023. We had a private tour for two days through Extraordinary Kangaroo Island with Mark Watson as our guide. The experience was outstanding across the board - pleasant accommodation, comfortable transport, interesting lunch stops and so on, but the highlight was Mark and his amazing knowledge and skill. It was hard to believe we could see so much in just two days. We are especially interested in wildlife, especially birds, and we saw at least 40 species of birds, about one on every page of the nice bird identification booklet he gave us. Many were common birds that were exciting to us foreigners, but many were also shy or rare species we would never have found on our own. Mark seems to know them all personally and knows where to find them. We also saw lots of other wildlife, some rare and some common. He even found an echidna along the side of the road and we were able to watch it feeding. Amazing that he can drive briskly along a dirt road and spot a small slow-moving camouflaged creature. He’s a very good driver, and very patient and friendly. He covered a lot of ground quickly, but without making us feel rushed. He’s great with wildlife, but also very knowledgeable about the history and geography of the island. We enjoyed every minute and felt it was an excellent value.

Two magical days We took two full day tours with Exceptional Kangaroos; one with Lee and one with Franck. Both were excellent and gave us a very clear overview of the Island. Lee shared his long-term experience as a native of KI, he has a fascinating background and provided great information. We saw the spectacular Remarkable Rocks, Admiral's Arch and koalas in the trees. Franck was equally informational, and, on his tour, we went to Seal Bay to get up close to the Sea Lions. It was magical and Franck taught us all about their habits. We also visited Stokes Bay where Franck led us through a tunnel of rocks, the only access to the beach. It was stunning. He took us through a field to a hidden spot where there was a covered picnic area and grilled some delicious fish, potatoes and halloumi. On both days, we had lovely lunches, white linens and wine.
I highly recommend the tours be aware that there is a lot of driving time, but it is well worth it.

Look no further - BOOK Exceptional KI! Cannot rave enough about the two one-day tours we booked, Island Life and Flinders Chase Focus. Both were truly exceptional and first-class.

We had different guides for each tour - Lee and Franck, respectively. They both provided thorough and fascinating information about KI, its history, the sights and wildlife. They both took us to spots off the beaten path, where we could see wildlife. The Remarkable Rocks (Flinders Chase) were truly - remarkable! The freshly prepared and delicious lunches were served on a white tablecloth, with cloth napkins and real dishes. And wine - as well as a selection of other beverages. In addition, they provided gluten free food for my husband (celiac), including at morning tea.

We were especially fortunate to be the only ones to have booked Flinders Chase Focus on that date, so it ended up being a private tour. And Franck was great at accommodating our last-minute request to enable us to leave a bit earlier to catch an earlier ferry.

Communication with the company prior to the tour was excellent and they provided many helpful suggestions, including transportation information, recommended tours based on our interests, and other logistics. The caliber of these tours made KI one of the highlights of a 5-week trip to Australia & NZ.

Wow! What a beautiful Island.... The 2 day tour showed us some awesome views and sites. What a beautiful Island. Although the weather was rainy and very windy, it gave us Mother Nature at its finest, WOW! - The Seals, Admirals Arch etc. What an experience. Morning Tea and Lunch was beautiful and delicious. Thanks Michael for the wonderful experience on our tour, you spoilt us rotten. We would definitely recommend this tour company.

Exceptional Kangaroo Island tours Roberta, our guide and driver, was fantastic. She was knowledgeable and fun. We saw so much of the island, had time to explore (as at Remarkable Rocks), and were treated to mid morning tea—white tablecloth and lamingtons, and an equally wonderful lunch,
cooked by Roberta, in the outdoors.

Kangaroo Island Tour Awesome two day private tour adventure exploring Kangaroo Island. Our guide Franck was awesome serving as your guide, driver, and chef. We enjoyed all the stops but don’t miss Seal Bay. You walk on the beach with your guide among the seals!

Excellent tour and tour guide! We did 2 full day tours (the Flanders Chase tour and the Island Life tour) with Roberta as our guide. We had a small group of 4 which was great. Roberta was an excellent guide. She had so much information to share, was down-to-earth and personable. We were so glad that we visited Kangaroo Island as there definitely was a different feel from visiting some of the larger cities. We saw interesting rocks, pretty beaches, seals up close, kangaroos, koalas, etc. As an aside, the lunch Roberta grilled (in a pretty area on a sheep farm) of fish, cheese and salad was excellent as well. The red Australian wine was good too! All-in-all, a fun, educational two days!

Wonderful Tour of KI We so enjoyed our two day tour of Kangaroo Island. The trip was very well organized, from airport pickup to delicious lunches and tea breaks. We felt very lucky to have Craig, the owner and KI expert, as our guide for the two days. The tour covers a lot of ground to see the beautiful landscapes and wildlife, all while hearing stories and facts from Craig about the island’s inhabitants—people and animals! It was a great tour!

Long drives to see not much. We booked and stayed for 6 days on Kangaroo Island, travelling on ferry with our vehicle.

Two days on KI visiting the main attractions (seals, remarkable rocks , arch and raptor park) would have surficed. Beaches ok.

If you aren't into camping or tramping very limited activities and VERY windy. So windy our two boat activities were cancelled which apparently is not a rare occurence.

On our last morning we finally saw some kangaroos.

Staff at tourist attractions were extremely friendly in South Australia including KI.

Sorry Kangaroo Island one place I would not recommend .

Wonderful two-day tour of Kangaroo Island We just completed a two-day tour of Kangaroo Island with Tim, our tour guide. Although we were supposed to be on a shared tour, our family ended up having Tim to ourselves both days, which was absolutely wonderful! Day 1 was a huge success, with Tim finding places for us to view koalas, kangaroos, wallaby, glossy black cockatoos, corella parrots, echidnas, sea lions and goannas from a respectful distance. On day 2 Tim picked us up promptly and drove us to Flinders Chase National Park. We visited Admirals Arch where we saw fur seals basking on the rocks and swimming and then moved on to Remarkable Rocks. There were, in addition, small side trips to various points of interest. Tim’s extensive knowledge of flora and fauna and his willingness to address all our questions made for an extremely interesting and enlightening two days. Additionally, Tim stopped for tea and biscuits each morning, a delightful treat, and then he personally made lunch for us. The first day was a barbecue in the bush and the second day was a picnic overlooking spectacular ocean scenery. We really cannot say enough about the great time we had thanks to Tim and Exceptional Kangaroo Island!

The Good Life With Lee We had a six person group with Lee all day. Lee is a third generation resident and knows all the "stories" and all the places to see things. He is also and excellent lunch cook in their pre-established BBQ tents. His style is relaxed and the trip pace is easy.

Great wildloife, middling guide. The wildlife on this tour were very nice - kangaroos, wallabees, sea lions, koalas. The guide knew the island well enough to find all the hot spots. She did not seem to have much clue about bird identification or, for that matter, anything about the natural history except the time at which it became separate from the mainland. In addition, the tour seemed to go way out of the way for good, but not great, fish served on a sheep farm. Apparently, no training is required to be a guide in Australia. Spend a week touring with another guide and you too can qualify!

Truly Exceptional! We did both the Flinders Chase and the Island Life tours. Both were truly exceptional. Our guides were wonderful, the lunches expertly prepared, the variety of stops made for engaging days, and of course the proxy to wildlife amazing. Definitely do these tours!

Excellent Kangaroo Island experience Our Guide, Lee Berryman, spent two days showing us all of Kangaroo Island focusing on it’s beauty, natural history, flora and fauna. He had an abundance of island experience and shares his familiarity all day. A warm and comfortable experience accompanied by excellent food, wine, and many courtesies.

Wonderful three days on kangaroo island led by this group. Saw amazing wildlife and wonderful lunches on the road. Knowledgeable and generally great people

Great tour with a great guide We had an amazing time because of our guide , Roberta. She was so attentive to all 10 of the participants and really took care to show us the things we wanted to see. KI is a special place and Roberta made it even more special. Can’t recommend this tour with her enough. I emphasize “with her”.

Ask for the right fuide This was a small group tour with just two couples. The sights at the the arches and remarkable rocks were really good. The issue was the guide,Lee.
He spent more time talking about his old jobs especially lobster fishing than he did telling us about the island and the things we were supposed to see. He even made a stop showing how you load your gear onto a boat!! Kind of rude and ridiculous. He drove so fast we couldn’t see any animals and even said “oh there’s a lizard “ as he sped off.Bottom line is he offered no insight into the sights other than how they relate to lobster. We could have done this on our own and read the notes at each stop. Now the company has some great guides and we heard from other folks that this tour is good but we suggest you ask for some other person than Lee.

Not worth a first, let alone second visit.

Excellent two days- Island Life and Flinders Chase We were collected at the airport by Lee who was our guide for the 2 days. Having lived most of his life on Kangaroo Island he was full of knowledge and stories. We were joined by another couple also from the UK and the 4 of us were well looked after for the two days.
A short time after leaving the airport we pulled up at a site where we were served tea & coffee with excellent cookies. Minutes later we were viewing Koalas in the trees! We’ve seen so much over the 2 day period and learned so much about the wildlife, the settlers, the geology and the devastating impact of the 2019/20 fires.
We were fed extremely well (the cooked lunch in the bush was very special) and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company and Lee as a guide. Hopefully we’ll be back one day.

Best two days on kangaroo island We went as a family, including my husband, myself and two young adult children. We had the best time - mostly due to our amazing guide, Drew and brilliant tour. We saw the most beautiful sites in our two day tour, tons of animals and made memories of a lifetime. We have never gone on a guided tour like this - and would absolutely say it is a must if visiting kangaroo island. Drew cooked us the most amazing lunches - and so much more!! We were joined by 6 others and we all had fun - ending the trip with a gin tasting!! In our two days we saw tons of koalas, seals, kangaroos, wallabies, small shark, snakes, tons of birds, dolphins and more! What an experience in a great place! Our group of 3 couples spent a wonderful day on Kangaroo Island with Michael. He picked us up from the airport and took us to see lovely kangaroos and koalas. He also told us all about Kangaroo Island and its animals, birds, and plants. Michael was so personable and enthusiastic and shared lots of great information.
We saw lots of kangaroos and some koalas including a mom and Joey koala which was great.
Michael then prepared us a terrific lunch with local wine.
I wish we had more time on the island to explore the towns and beaches - but we had to catch our return flight and it was really raining by then anyway. It is surprising that Kangaroo Island is so unspoiled. I can see why people love living there.

Exceptional 2 days!! Kangaroo Island is inherently interesting and scenic, but this tour went above and beyond our expectations! Paolo served freshly brewed coffee, tea and baked goods on a white tablecloth at our first stop near an idyllic beach and that was just the beginning! We had gourmet lunches and wine both days including delicious fresh fish cooked and served al fresco. Flinders Chase National Park was absolutely gorgeous with the photogenic Remarkable Rocks and fur seals near Admirals Arch. And our guide on the second day, Lee, could spot wildlife with an amazing skill. Seeing koalas, kangaroos, and wallabies in the wild was particularly special since we learned about the wildfire that covered half of the island 2 years before. We’ve taken many tours around the world but these two days were outstanding and among the highlights of our trip!

We saw wonderful wildlife - koalas, kangaroos, wallabies and seals -ate delicious food, viewed beautiful beaches and learned about the island and the wildlife.

Great Holiday on KI We did a 2 day tour with Exceptional Kangaroo Island. The first day was all about the animals visiting various sites to view sea lions, kangaroos and koalas. the second day was into the National Park to take in the fantastic scenery and the amazing landscape, Remarkable Rocks being the highlight. Being Kangaroo Island born & bred our guide Lee was a wealth of knowledge about the history and features of the island. He also cooked up fantastic lunches set in out of the way bush camps which was a special treat. We had a young couple from Italy on our tour and Lee went out of his way on the second day to make sure they got to see kangaroos and koalas. These tours are small group tours run by people who are passionate about Kangaroo Island and designed to give the visitor the best experiance possable.

A great day and well led. This was a great day with Lee. We had four young Italians, an American mother and son and us a two other Aussies. The tour was diverse and given the mixture of the group and mixture of knowledge of Australian wildlife and history, it was very well presented. Although the wildlife was limited with the effects of the bushfires,our guide managed to find some, but the natural wonders such as Admiralty Arch and the Remarkables were even more interesting with a knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. The lunch out in the National Park was also well done.

Truly remarkable Our experience on this day adventure was amazing! Our guide Craig was exceptional with sharing his local knowledge and taking us to the island's iconic attractions. The spectacular landscapes, rugged coastlines, wildlife and unique national parks took our breaths away on several occasions. The small group (in our case just the two of us) allowed for a personalised tour and gave us the opportunity to learn so much about the wonders of Kangaroo Island. Morning tea and lunch was five star! Never have we experienced such fine dining in the middle of a paddock or on the side of the road like we did on these tours. The food was gourmet, locally produced and prepared and presented beautifully. Again, the thought that had gone into "feeding" us was top class. We would recommend this tour group highly. What we came away from Kangaroo Island with was this- the locals are passionate about their island and willingly and proudly share their little piece of paradise with us all.

Magic island We had a 2 days tour with this tour operator and our guide, Lee, was fantastic. We explored all the island and its magical spots. We also had opportunity to watch animals such as koalas, lion seals and kangaroos so close but in a respectful context. Stunning sunset at Remarkable rocks and amazing lunches/pic nic in the bush with traditional food, Lee is a great chef! Thank you!

Like the name truly exceptional We did two full day tours - Flinders Chase and Island Life - in July 2022.

Both tours were truly extraordinary, fulfilling and exceeding our expectations.

The nature was spectacular and we saw both kangaroos, koalas, wallabies, fur seals and sea lions. All in the wild - no nature parks or tame animals.

Lunch was exquisite and not at all what you would expect of a bush-bbq.

Perhaps best of all was our guide - 3rd generation islander Lee Barrymann. He knew where to find the animals, he knew all about the island history and geology and could add a personal touch to all stories. He made our little group of families blend really well and made the experience truly special.

We highly recommend touring with Exceptional. Book with confidence. We had two wonderful days touring Kangaroo Island with Dave. First day was Island Life where we saw an incredible amount of wildlife, including lots of koalas - Dave knew exactly where to find them. The visit to Seal Bay was wonderful.

Second day we thoroughly checked out the east of the island.

The fresh lunches and snacks were great.

All in all, it was fabulous.

My two days spent touring Kangroo Island with EKI were absolutely outstanding. Tim and Luke took care to tailor the tours to the differing requirements of our small group. The highlight for me (apart from the tea stops and amazing lunches) was spotting an echidna while also seeing kangaroos, sea lions and seals.

Had a brilliant day out on 3rd December 2019 with Lee our driver and an American couple Dee and Larry. Lots to see, Admirals Arch, Remarkable rocks, Vivonne bay. Saw Roo's close up, Wallaby, Koalas, Echidnas, Seals and birds even a Black Tiger Snake! Tea and cake and lunch also enjoyable.

We booked a full day guided tour with Exceptional Kangaroo Island and had an absolutely fantastic experience. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, and it was a very personal group tour (we were with only one other couple). We were taken to different points on the island, all of which highlighted the incredible beauty and diversity of life and nature on the island. Highlights of the trip included spotting koalas and kangaroos out in the wild, in addition to the numerous bird species inhabiting Kangaroo Island. Our tour also included stops on the northern and southern beaches of the island. It was incredible seeing how these two sides of the island differed, with our trip to the northern beach involving a trek through rocks to a beautiful secluded beach and our trip to the southern beach showing us Seal Bay and the large number of seals calling the beach home. For lunch we had a delicious fresh barbecued lunch prepared by our tour guide that was truly one of the best meals I had during our entire trip. Would absolutely recommend using Exceptional Kangaroo Island to get to experience the beauty of Kangaroo Island!

Craig did a great job showing my family around Kangaroo Island in January, 2013. We saw lots and lots of wildlife. My favorite was snorkeling with seals while some of the others were diving. Dolphin, seals, sea lions, echidna, wallabies, kangaroo, koala bears, raptors and even a vineyard.
