Amazing Dark Sky and river experience I participated in the River Murray Dark Sky and Sunset with Dinner Experience on the weekend. Wow, a fantastic experience! Kelly is a warm & professional operator and the whole experience was quite magical. A beautiful cruise on the river with MV Dragonfly, followed by a relaxed bbq dinner at Walker Flat General Store, before the icing on the cake - sensational sky gazing experience in a private location and wow, what a sky we were privileged to experience! The astrology experts were informative and shared their knowledge with us in a wonderfully easy to understand way - the whole experience from beginning to end was incredible and I would thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting a warm and immersive experience with local operators within the region! Heartwarming, sparkling Skytour. Dark skies tour
We drove from Adelaide on a Saturday for the Dark Skies tour. It is an enjoyable day trip out to Mannum and while we were returning to Adelaide late it was a quick and enjoyable trip.
We got confirmation that the viewing would proceed that night.
The drive through the Adelaide Hills was beautiful. We stopped at the Big Rocking Horse Toy factory and had a picnic lunch. The motor museum is also along the way.
Arriving in Mannum about an hour earlier for the 16:30hr tour pickup.
To fill in the time we sat on the beautiful banks of the Murray with a drink at the Pretoria Hotel.
Kelly picked us up in her comfortable mini bus and we went for a cruise along the Murray. It was one of the highlights of the tour. The boat captain’s (apologies, I can’t recall his name) commentary was informative but not intrusive and clearly showed his love and knowledge of the river.
After the boat cruise Kelly took us via some sight seeing stops and a delicious bbq at Walker Flats to the Dark Skies site. The viewing seating options are very good- lay back chairs and bathtubs. My elderly mother was very comfortable. The weather conditions were good so we saw many constellations, Saturn, Mars and the moon in detail. Expert commentary was provided.
Kelly is a warm and attentive host. Telling stories about the history and the community and creating a warm inviting atmosphere, throughout the tour.
We highly recommend the Dark Skies tour.

A must do, great night From booking to the end of the evening, the whole experience was well organized and fun.
Kel who drove us around was well imformed and interesting with all of her
knowledge of the area. We had a fairly large group and she seemed to know everyone by name and made everyone feel comfortable. Included in the evening was a sunset tour on the river and it was beautiful, Levi our captain was also very interesting and showed us lots of wildlife and interesting facts as we cruised along.
After our cruise we had a bbq at Walker Flat Riverfront store, which was delicous and there was plenty of it!
We then went on to the 'dark sky reserve' and were spoilt with a beautiful clear night and saw so many stars with the help of a couple of very knowledgeable guides. Whilst we were busy stargazing Kel got busy and made everyone hot milos and they were served up with 'milky way' and 'mars bar' chockies.
After a couple of hours we were taken back to Mannum feeling greatful for such a wonderful experience.

Shooting Star! This was such an amazing experience. The night was perfection and I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a unique experience just outside of Adelaide. The knowledge shared by Joe was super insightful and the ambience created by Kelly was the icing on the cake! :)

We booked this experience as a birthday surprise while travelling around Australia, and it exceeded our expectations.

From the very beginning, the communication was fantastic from Kelly. Our host was incredibly attentive, keeping us updated with messages and even taking photos throughout the evening so we could simply enjoy the experience. It was clear how much thought, time and passion had gone into planning every part of the tour. Seeing her and her husband work together made it feel even more personal and welcoming.

The dinner was delicious with plenty of options to cater for different preferences, the Murray River cruise was peaceful and full of fascinating facts thanks to our knowledgeable guide, and the stargazing itself was simply incredible. Seeing the night sky in one of the darkest places in the world was something we’ll never forget and stargazing from bathtubs definitely wasn’t something we ever expected to have on our bucket list but wow it should be on everyone’s!

Everyone we met throughout the evening was so friendly and genuinely passionate about what they do. As visitors from Ireland, it was a real treat to experience such a unique part of South Australia in such a welcoming way.

If you’re considering this tour, do it. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience and one we’ll be talking about for years to come!

The session was conducted by expert commentary by Joe who was thorough, patient and engaging. Seeing stars through his very expensive toy was just awesome!
Overall, the efforts that went into the organisation was tremendous and Kelly did it with so much enthusiasms and enjoyment which made us all felt so well treated. Not to mention the hot milo whilst stargazing in the dark was such a beautiful touch of your service.

A Magical Murray River Sunset and Night Sky Experience We did the Dark Sky Sunset Tour with dinner and it was such a memorable experience. I’d highly recommend it if you’re looking for something a bit different along the Murray.

The afternoon started with crossing the Murray River by ferry, which was a great way to begin. From there, we meandered along the river with really engaging and informative commentary. It didn’t feel rushed at all, just relaxed and easy, with plenty to take in along the way.

The sunset cruise was a highlight. It was peaceful and beautifully done, with thoughtful commentary that added to the experience. Being so close to the river made you feel properly connected to the landscape, which was really special.

Dinner was a classic Aussie pub meal, simple but enjoyable, and a nice way to break up the evening before heading into the dark sky experience.

The dark sky component was fascinating. Once your eyes adjust, it’s incredible how much more you can see. The guide’s commentary about the night sky was engaging and easy to follow, and getting the chance to look through the telescope was genuinely mind-blowing.

Overall, this was a magical experience. Relaxed, informative and really well put together. Definitely one I’d recommend to friends.

An amazing experience! Initially I booked myself in for the Sunset Dinner, the team of Jungle House let me know that unfortunately that experience wouldn't be going ahead. However changing myself over to another experience that was doable and incredibly easy, and they let me add another person to my booking upon finding out that a friend would be joining.

My friend and I loved our Astrology only session! The sites of the stars were incredibly beautiful and learning more knowledge about our universe was amazing. They offered us water, and a small snacks. We ended up staying the night in Mannum which I highly recommend other people do as well!

My friend and I look forward to coming again in Winter! Very well worth the money and drive down!

10/10 would recommend if you love the stars and want to be able to actually witness the beauty our night skies have to offer!

The sky as you have never seen it before A night to remember. We self drove to the venue. We had good instructions which you need as it is very dark. The couple astronomers were very knowledgeable and friendly, answering any questions and giving lots of insight into the constellations. The laser beam was fabulous pointing out the various stars and constellations. It was must do experience. It was breathtaking! Worth the cost.

Dark Sky delight When you’re met with a glass of bubbles and instantly bond with the “back of the bus” you know it’s going to be a good night! Starting with the cruise from Bowhill and seeing lots of bird life, then dining at the Mannum Club (with a dark sky gin) and finally relaxing on a yoga mat under the Milky Way while being guided around the stars, Kel has put together a great tour. Yes, we were lucky with the weather but it was 6 hours well spent on a Saturday night. Extra points for ferry trip and nearly having a sing along on the bus!

The dark sky tour was an amazing experience & I would recommend to anyone! Mannum itself is absolutely stunning and the dinner and boat ride before were such a great addition to the night! The star gazing has to be seen to believed, not to mention Kelly and the team that made the trip so comfortable, fun and were extremely knowledgeable!! We will definitely be back to do the star gazing again and support such an amazing business ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Recommended, informative and enjoyable We enjoyed a small group (8) night sky experience with Joe and Lyn on Tuesday night. It was informative and well paced. The evening was part cloudy but we viewed Jupiter, The Southern Cross, Orion and The Jewel Box and a binary star. Joe was approachable and answered all questions at different levels in the group. The mars/Milky Way chocolate was a bonus. We would recommend this experience.
Unfortunately our longer tour including the river trip and meal was cancelled due to a lack of uptake. Kelly tried to provide options for us. We drove the scenic loop of the river today as far as Swan reach so were able to see the cliffs and appreciate some of the scenery we missed on the boat. The weather here has been mixed during our 2 day stay; rain. cloud, wind as well as bouts of clear visibility and sunshine. It’s a tour that is weather dependent and uptake numbers seem to vary so plan for some flexibility if you can. Driving home late after 11pm to Mannum worried us because of the wildlife but Joe pre warned us to keep speed low and we made a steady trip home avoiding two wildlife encounters. We are now just waiting for our refund. Thanks to the whole Juggle House team.

Kel is amazing 🤩 and will cater for most of your needs, however she does not have a direct line to Mother Nature 🌬️ different times of the year = different experiences just remember that when booking.

The astronomers that joined us (Lachie and Chloe) were very knowledgeable and helpful.

The dark sky experience was just amazing, the boat ride, the dinner, and the astronomy session was just sensational. The guide, Kel, was so friendly and really helped to elevate the experience. The astronomer, Joe, was so insightful and very educational, he also helps with photo taking at the end. As you can see in the pictures, the sky was just beautiful throughout the entire night. It was overall such a relaxing experience that came with a lovely meal, a nice hot cup of milo, and a lot of friendly staff.

Our dark sky astronomy experience was amazing. Joe, our guide, is a legend. He was so knowledgeable and good-humoured. We learned a lot about our galaxy, including the true number that represents the meaning of all life (it's not 42...but I'm not giving anything away here). Thank-you to Joe and his very friendly wife Lyn for providing one of the highlights of our trip to South Australia.

Absolutely brilliant!!! Wow what an amazing experience. Our tour guide Kelly is extraordinary as a guide, you won't find better, friendly, funny, informative, passionate about her job and a wealth of knowledge. The river cruise down the Murray with Levi was amazing. He gave so much insight about the river and its ecosystem, pointing out wildlife and flora as we meandered lazily down the river, with a glass of bubbles in hand.
Next we were driven in comfort to the dark sky reserve... and WOW. That was AMAZING!
Our astronomer host and his wife guided us through the night skies, with his extraordinary telescope. We saw Jupiter and Saturn, in incredible detail...and a cosmic galaxy with a million stars. It truly blew our minds!!
To top it off we stopped to observe a spectacular lightning show in the horizon on our drive home. Kelly made so many extra stops to include any thing and everything that popped up along the way. All extra, all at her time and expense. We will be back to do the moon crater night!!

A great experience An amazing experience. I surprised my family as a Christmas gift and we all loved it. Although it was a cloudy night we still saw plenty of things. A highlight was seeing Saturn with the rings, the moon, Jupiter and more. Highly recommended

The River Murray Dark Sky & Sunset Dinner Tour was nothing short of magical. The evening began in downtown Mannum, where we were welcomed with a red carpet and a glass of Adelaide Hills bubbles before stepping into an immaculately clean, spacious, and incredibly comfortable vehicle – the perfect start to the night.
We travelled along the riverbank to the discovery cruise, which was flawless. The vessel, the guide, and the commentary were all spot on, bringing the history and wildlife of the Murray to life. The abundance of birdlife was a highlight, and the two ferry crossings added a unique local touch.
Dinner was an Aussie-themed BBQ served at golden hour by the cliffs as the sun set – simply breathtaking. After a relaxed meal, we drove to a private, secluded location for stargazing. Lying under a brilliant summer sky, far from any sound or light pollution, was pure magic. The stars glowed brightly, and the setting felt exclusive and serene – the perfect moment to pause and reflect. (along with a milo and Mars bar!)
Kel, the host and owner, was exceptional – professional, warm, and full of genuine Aussie hospitality. You couldn’t ask for a better guide.
The tour wrapped up back in Mannum around 11 pm, and I left feeling like I had experienced something truly special. This is the perfect blend of nature, luxury, and authentic Australian charm. Highly recommended for all ages.

My partner and our two kids (16 and13) had an amazing experience with ‘juggle house’. Our night included the river cruise, a meal at a country pub and the star gazing. Our host, Kel, was easy going throughout and made a great Milo to keep us warm while we were learning about the stars. Our two astronomers at the Dark Sky Reserve were informative and approachable. The absolute highlight, however, was the night sky, which had to be seen to be believed. The odd passing satellite and the International Space Station were even thrown in, as luck would have it. I would highly recommend this experience with ‘juggle house’. I’d come back and the kids have already said they want to.

Fabulous holiday exploring the might Murray River From the moment Andrew picked us up from the Majestic Rooftop Hotel in Adelaide to board the Houseboat 'Love Life' and again when returning to the Airport we enjoyed the holiday on the Murray River immensely and highly recommend as relaxing along with amazing scenery and birdlife.
It was a highlight to meet and travel with Andrew who made sure we were comfortable and conversation flowed with insights into the Adelaide hills and beyond. We thoroughly enjoyed his company and felt like we had made a new friend.

Kelly and her crew ran a special stargazing event for a group of delegates from the Australian Regional Tourism Convention - a lively group of tourism professionals and operators - tough audience!

Firstly Kelly has the best personality for conducting any tour. She was a perfect host dealing with my last minute booking request and internet issues smoothly and flexibly and with joy!

Her customised presentation to suit her tourism industry audience was the perfect balance of information about the history of the DarkSky place and the kind of data tourism people pour over.

The meal at the Mannun Pub was excellent - what a location set on the limpid Murray. The comfortable new buses, including the Party Bus, were excellent transport.

And the Stargazing experience? well it was wonderful. The view was clear of clouds and the instruction by Joe was clear and informative. Who knew Alpha Sentori was actually three stars?

As fellow member of the DarkSky community via our DarkSky Approved Lodging - Kestrel Nest EcoHut, I came along to support a fellow operator. As we have our own DarkSkies, I didnt expect to be dazzled by the stars, but I was. But more? I was dazzled by the whole experience , AND am taking away ideas of how we can further improve the DarkSky experience for our guests.

Fabulous - highly recommend! This was a fabulous experience that I highly recommend. Right from the start the communication with Juggle House was prompt, clear and detailed. From Kelly's warm welcome and the limo bus (seated 9) with sparkling wine on arrival - which was an unexpected bonus! :) - Kelly's commentary and knowledge of the region, to the sunset river cruise, the bbq dinner by the river at Walker Flat and of course the astronomy session - it was all extremely well done and we enjoyed it immensely!

My family of 4 went to the astronomy experience as a gift for my eldest son. It was a really interesting and amazing experience. The talk was informative and fascinating and if live to go again in a different season to see how the night sky changes.

Incredible! Must do experience This was a brilliant tour - the main guide Kelly was friendly and informative and great a handling a diverse small group, the river cruise as night fell was lovely but the highlight was the sky itself. Unbelievable! Incredible to think this is practically on the city's doorstep.

A dream tour for the want a be astronomer This tour was excellent and great value for money.
It included a private cruise along the Murray River on sunset which was so informative as we learnt about the wildlife. Following this we enjoyed dinner while hearing from Kelly (owner of Juggle House) about the International Dark Sky and how her business began. We were then taken to the International Dark Sky Reserve on a private property; astronomers met us there and explained in detail the star constellations along with so many other interesting facts.

Starry starry night Amazing time. Kelly our host ensured our safe arrival and with hot cups of hot chocolates (much welcomed in the cold). Joe and Linda were kind and super knowledgeable and we were fascinated by the information we learnt on the night. Highly recommended.

Journey beyond the stars The night was almost cloud free and the sky was illuminated by seemingly millions of stars. Joe the astronomer chatted about his favourite subject in ways that were easy to understand. He identified heavenly bodies using a powerful laser and the views through the telescope were stunning.

The Dark Sky Astronomy Experience was amazing. Joe and Lyn were so welcoming. They were very knowledgeable and helpful as they guided us through so many wonders of the universe. A must do activity for any visitor to the Riverland and you’ll never look at the night sky in the same way again!

Had an amazing Astronomy Session with Juggle House at the River Murray International Dark Sky Reserve! The sky was incredibly clear and dark, making for a perfect stargazing experience.

We got to see Jupiter, Mars, shooting stars, and countless constellations through the telescope—it was truly fascinating. Huge thanks to Joe for his entertaining and insightful guidance. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and made everything so engaging.

Local guides delivering genuine and local stories make this a must-do for visitors to SA, but South Australians also shouldn't underestimate how great this tour experience is and how much you will gain from it. Don't bother doing Dark Sky by yourself.

Kelly was an excellent host for this night of stargazing. Joe and his fellow astronomers were informative, incredibly knowledgeable, and passionate without being too technical. They were happy to chat and answer all questions.
The views through the powerful telescopes were amazing, and it helps to have some knowledge of what you are looking at.
We went over finishing time, as everyone was keen to see and learn more. I'm keen to go back in winter to see the Milky Way in its full glory.
I highly recommend this dark sky tour experience.

Wow! What an awesome night. We did the Dark Sky Gold Stars Sunset Dinner tour. Kelly was amazing and made the whole experience so much better while making it fun and also educational! Definitely take a warm jacket because it can get bloody cold out there at night but it's well worth the experience! Thanks again Kelly, we had an awesome time and loved the dinner, the boat trip, and seeing the stars and planets. (and the chocolates and warm Milo which we also loved!)

Highly recommend this to everyone. Loved, loved, loved this trip. I am used to seeing the night sky in the desert, so was curious as to how this would measure up. Did not disappoint at all. The hospitality was brilliant. I really enjoyed how they integrated knowledge of the local area into the trip. Would highly recommend to everyone.

It's obvious that Kelly loves her community and the area; she was knowledgeable and gave us lots of interesting insights while keeping the tour light and fun. Levi was great on the river boat part of the tour where we saw much of the local Birdlife and got close to the limestone cliffs. Dinner was a very good pub meal and the Dark Sky with Joe was awesome, especially with his passionate commentary. Highly recommended.

Trustworthy Service We had a wonderful experience with Kelly transferring us from the Adelaide Airport to Mannum for our houseboat weekend. Her communication was great, and she was extremely helpful with the organisation of food/drinks, plus she got us to our destination safely and on time.

Cloudy skies but still a great experience Despite cloudy skies and no star gazing, we chose to go ahead with the sunset cruise followed by dinner and an astrology information talk. Kelly made sure we still had a really interesting and enjoyable night. Joe's talk was so interesting and we will most definitely be back to use our credit to see the Dark Sky Reserve and night sky!

My wife and I and two friends attended the Dark Sky viewing event near Walkers Flat with the astronomer and his wife. Kelly from Juggle House facilitated our experience. Although late arriving cloud cover and a half moon we were amazed to see some much detail through the 40cm large computer operated telescope. We were able to view many of the larger stars and especially the Moon. Those present even managed to get photos of the Moon through the telescope eyepiece. Kelly made sure we were comfortable with hot Milo and chocolate bars - Milky Ways and Mars Bars. Very appropriate. The knowledge base of the astronomer was very good and he made it easier to understand the vastness of space. A very enjoyable time.

We had an amazing family experience for our Dad's 80th birthday. Nothing was too much for Kelly. It was a huge day for her picking us up early in the morning in the Entertainer and dropping us home late at night. Every stop, we came back to fresh drinks glasses and the floor vacuumed! Kelly goes the extra mile and is such fun on the trip. Thank you Kelly and Team for making Dad's birthday one to remember!

This was the highlight of our SA trip. Kelly was a wonderful host - friendly, welcoming and professional. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and were really grateful to learn about the local indigenous culture, before a jaw-dropping astronomy session in the dark sky reserve. Would thoroughly recommend!
