Unfortunately, the poor management and organisation behind the scenes slowed our day down a little at the start, which was disappointing.

However, Graham was an amazing tour guide and definitely deserves five stars. He took us everywhere we needed to go, gave us great inspiration and suggestions for places to visit, and kept us entertained with plenty of good laughs along the way. He was also a very good and safe driver.

The hospitality at Tamborine Mountain wineries was a little lacklustre and could have been more friendly, welcoming, and upbeat. Overall I found the wine tour a little disappointing today as many of the wines were from South Australia rather than being from the Tamborine Mountain region. The food, however, was good.

Overall, I felt the tour was a little overpriced for what we received. That said, we had a great time largely because we had fantastic company and an excellent tour guide.

I would highly recommend visiting Tamborine Mountain itself — it is absolutely beautiful. We particularly loved the lookout, Gallery Walk, and the Hampton’s estate, Curtis falls thunder bird park. Definitely worth visiting!

We recently did the hop on, hop off tour to Tamborine Mountain with Anthony as our driver and we loved it! I was with my 80 year old mum as part of her birthday celebrations and we both thoroughly enjoyed Anthony's commentary, suggestions for the best places to visit, his inside knowledge of where to enjoy the sensational views and - perhaps most of all - his sense of humour. So many belly laughs were had and, days later, we're still remembering his one liners and chuckling all over again. In addition, the hop on, hop off aspect of the tour worked really well on the day and we were never waiting too long to be picked up and to move on to the next stop. Highly recommended!

day trip to Tamborine Mountain and the Glow Worm Caves Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish! The tour was well organised, comfortable, and such an easy way to explore Tamborine Mountain without having to worry about driving or planning the day ourselves. The hop-on hop-off format gave us the flexibility to enjoy the mountain at a relaxed pace, and the scenery throughout the Scenic Rim was beautiful.

The Glow Worm Caves were definitely a highlight and felt really special to see in person. Our guide/driver was friendly, helpful, and made the day run smoothly. Pickup and drop-off were convenient, and everything felt stress-free.

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Gold Coast who wants a relaxing day out with nature, views, and something a bit different. A wonderful experience and definitely worth five stars!

Beautiful day out Great day out. Antony was exceptionally friendly and fun. Lots of stories and interesting local information. Suited us fine but some people may not like the casual nature of the “hop on, hop off”. Our fellow travellers were all lovely so worked out fine but could have been tricky if you wanted to do specific things at certain times. You will enjoy this if you’re happy to go with the flow and see how the day takes you. Mount Tambourine is really beautiful and definitely worth a day trip.

Fantastic Day We had a fantastic day exploring Tamborine Mountain, combining the glow worm cave tour with the hop-on hop-off bus experience.

The glow worm cave was a real highlight, such a unique and magical experience. Walking through and seeing the glow worms up close was something completely different and well worth it.

The hop-on hop-off service made the whole day easy and flexible. It was great being able to explore at our own pace without worrying about transport, and the stops were well thought out.

A special mention to Mint, our driver, who was very nice, welcoming, and professional throughout the day. They made everything run smoothly and added to the overall experience.

Overall, a really enjoyable and well-organised day, highly recommend for anyone visiting Tamborine Mountain.

Poor experience on the Hop on/off tour Review: Hop-On Hop-Off Tamborine Mountain & Glow Worm Tour (Pineapple Tours)

Overall, this tour is not good value for money, especially for families. For a family of four, the total cost is very high compared to what you actually receive. In our case, it would have been significantly cheaper and more flexible to take an Uber from the Gold Coast to Tamborine Mountain and back. ( $70 to return to GC with a 15-minute wait for pick-up on the mountain)

In addition, the structure of the day does not really match the idea of a “hop on, hop off” experience. We were picked up at 9:00am, but after waiting for another bus to join us, the day did not properly start until around 10:30am. The return journey was at 3:30pm, which means you only have about five hours on the mountain. 1.5 hours is set aside for lunch, so you realistically only have time to visit one location in the morning and one in the afternoon. This makes the hop on/hop off concept feel quite misleading.

For these reasons, I would only recommend this tour for solo travelers or couples, not families.

2. Left Stranded on the Road by Pineapple Tours

The most disappointing part of the day was being left stranded on the side of the road in the afternoon. Our scheduled pick-up simply did not arrive, and we waited for approximately 50 minutes with no clear communication.

We were eventually told by our driver, I think her name was Michelle, that she was “stuck in traffic”, which seemed like a weak explanation given that we were in a rural area with no visible roadworks or traffic issues. Eventually, another driver (Terry) arrived and told us he had gone to the wrong pick-up point. Unfortunately, there was no apology or acknowledgement that this mistake had caused inconvenience to our family. When I contacted the company on whatsapp after the trip there was a insincere half-apology, i quote "since it's a public bus, there can sometimes be delays. My apologies and thanks for your understanding"
Well, it's not a public bus is it?

Being left on the roadside for such a long time, especially with children, is not acceptable for a paid tour service and significantly affected our overall experience.

Overall Impression

Overall, this was a disappointing experience and not good value for money for a family. The limited time on the mountain, the poor organisation, and the lack of accurate local information made the day feel rushed and frustrating.

If you are travelling as a family, I would strongly suggest arranging your own transport instead. The hop-on/hop-off tour may be more suitable for solo travellers or couples, but for us, it did not deliver what was promised.

PERFECT DAY ON THE MOUNTAIN Fantastic driver and guide Michelle was amazing. Such a fabulous day on the mountain walking, shopping, eating and enjoying a few drinks at the distillery, brewery and winery!! Hop on, hop off bus was a great way to get around. Michelle was like our personal driver for the day. Thoroughly recommend.

Wonderful experience of a day on Tamborine Mountain! I booked the glow worm tour with hop on hop off experience and the tour guide Anthony was a delight! He had a great personality and humor and ensured everyone in the group had a great time. We arrived to the mountain and everyone split off in their various groups. I'm impressed with how you all coordinate the complexity of things and the only confusing part was the hop on hop off being the same bus as we went on (not a separate bus). It worked out fine as Anthony ensured everyone was able to get to where they wanted to be and all were happy but many of us on tour had initial confusion. Rest assured he turns into the "hop on hop off bus" and does a nice job getting everyone around.

Great tour Anthony seemed a bit flustered initially but it turned out to be a great tour. Nothing was too much trouble for him. I did Glow worms, Skywalk, Curtis Falls and Lookout all in plenty of time with no hanging about and great commentary from Anthony when appropriate . Room for improvement The company could really improve with clearer communication. At the start, we were handed a laminated map but given no guidance about what to see, how the timetable worked, or how to make the most of the day. Because of the disorganisation, it was after 11am before we even managed to see or do anything.

When we got off the bus, the first question was “What do you want to do?”—but we had no idea what the options were or how it all worked. We said the falls, so they took us there, only for us to be told its better to start with the treetop walk.

It wasn’t just us who were confused. Another couple became so worried about not getting picked up that they started walking in the heat.

The staff clearly mean well, and they do want everyone to have a good time, but for a paid tour this level of confusion just isn’t good enough. With better communication and structure, the experience could be much better. As it stands, hiring a car would have been the easier option.

Great way to see Tambourine mountain and the glow worm caves. Anthony was an amazing driver with loads of information and great fun. We went to several different locations so got a great insight in to seeing what was on offer up there. Skywalk was worth the extra cost and lovely walk.

We took our business, Oh My Digital on a Pineapple Tour for our Christmas party and it did not disappoint! I've been on many over the years, and they've never let us down. The guides ALWAYS go above and beyond to make us feel so welcome, give us a 10/10 experience, listen to our needs and make sure we get to see and do everything we want. And they're SO much fun! They know all the best places to go, recommend the best spots for pics and experiences and don't rush us so we can just enjoy our day. We always make friends along the way, buy LOTS of wine and eat so much cheese. The team behind the scenes also worked effortlessly to ensure we were picked up from our locations and met up so easily without any stress and complaint. Couldn't recommend highly enough. I'd never go with another tour!

Picked up at my hotel on time. Bus driver Andy was very chatty, and a good driver - arrived at Tambourine Mt and transferred to bus with Michelle as guide/driver - the wine tour and lunch were great. Michelle was informative and pleasant. Back with Andy for trip back down the mountain - in a thunderstorm - Andy drove safely and with care. Only one suggestion - perhaps ask people to put their seat belts on - not many did.

We went on a trip to Mount Tamborine with Anthony, and it was such a fun and unforgettable experience! The small town was beautiful, filled with cozy cafés and boutique shops. We also went on a few bush walks, which were really enjoyable. Anthony was very helpful and informative — we had a great time with him!

Glow Worm Cave & Rain Forest The glow worm cave was like looking at a beautiful sky with stars at night. Very interesting to say the least. The Rain Forest Sky walk gave nice views. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Myself and my sister visited Brisbane on our travelling holiday and booked a hop on, hop off tour up the Tamborine mountains. We had a great time all thanks to our guide/driver Anthony. We certainly shared the same humour which made our trip all the more enjoyable. Along with giving us lots of facts of the surrounding area along the way. I would highly recommend doing this trip if you want to get easy access up the mountain, we were able to get done everything we wanted in the time we had. Thanks a lot Anthony we had the best time!!

Good driver/guide, smooth tour We had Michelle as our guide, and she talked to everyone to figure out a tour plan. My friend and I hadn't got tickets to an attraction and it was booked out online, but she still managed to get tickets for us! I originally booked a tour through Viator since I wasn't sure what I was doing and booked the wrong tour without knowing, so I had to book a second tour since I was within no-cancellation window. I received a call from Pineapple Tours the day before and they were so helpful with getting this issue resolved when Viator couldn't, so absolutely book directly with them. As for the Tour itself, we did the Tambourine Mountain/Glow Worm Caves tour and had such an amazing time. Our driver Graham was very accommodating of all people on the hop-on hop-off experience, and even gave us a personalized tasting at the distillery up on the mountain. I have nothing but good things to say about our experience and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone traveling in the Gold Coast/Brisbane area.

Great trip to the tamborine mountain, visiting the glow worms and touring the wineries. Driver is knowledgeable about the place and drop us at various main attractions. Recommended for small group tour!

Tour guide/ driver had a strong knowledge of the area. Flexible and accommodating to passenger requests. Stopped at multiple locations throughout Mount Tamborine. We visited the glow worm cave, skywalk, national park, and the botanical garden. The tour concluded with free time in the town strip. Amazing views. Highly recommend.

I just wanted to say a very big thank you to Minh (apologies if I misspelt the name)! The bus itself is clean and comfy and it was always on time for pickups and drop offs. I did the hop on hop off bus ride to Tamborine mountain, she was pleasant to chat to and accommodating. I was a little nervous as this was my first hop on/off bus ride but it was very easy and such a great experience. Tamborine mountain is absolutely beautiful it’s a must see. I had a great day and made some new friends as the bus housed 10 and so travelling alone meant a few of us were not lonely.
Cedar Creek falls and Skyline was beautiful- even in the downpour. Our tour guide had a time slot to return to the Glow worm Caves.
Always book in advance for anything else you may want to do. We went with a hop on hop off tour, so had tickets included for the Glow Worms, but some group members booked with the Skyline Tour and had to sit and wait while rest of group went in, as the venue was sold out. Those on the Winery Tour swapped buses.
Would be better to know at time of booking that you could add on other sights as part of the excursion to guarantee an entry place. I made a friend who booked the Skyline tour and there were tickets I could purchase separately -well worth seeing.
Totally recommend using Pineapple, especially if travelling alone, as it was a smaller crowd and the drivers were friendly and the mini bus comfortable. They said we could go to wherever we wanted and they’d come back and collect us. In reality, as we didn’t really know anywhere, the tour could include the main sights in a logical order.
I was however, underwhelmed by the glow worms!
Thanks for a lovely day Pineapple- I would suggest a pickup point near a bus station for those who had to travel into the City to take the tour.

Great Day Out We did a Pinapple wine tour today and it was great. We visited 3 wineries, and had lunch at the Cedar Estate which was delicious. Our tour driver Graham was very friendly and a great conversationalist. Highly recommend Pinapple tours, they offer more than just winery tours, they offer a hop on hop off service which sounds fantastic for those who don't have a car and wish to explore Tamberine Mountain.

Went in the full day winery tour at Mt tamborine. Scottie our driver and host was friendly ,funny, relaxed, tolerant and very obliging. He had some great local knowledge and even dropped me off at home which was appreciated!!! Unfair Treatment So my whanau/family that went on a Pineapple Tour. And during this time we were singled out as too loud, rude, and cut our times short at one of the wineries. And this was all because of one lady who complained when we asked her to move politely so we could get to our table and she scolded us by following with a “get away from me”.

Once this happened straight after that our tour guide treated us like we were the problem and didn’t even bother to ask us what our story was.

So all in all long story short very unfair and almost ruined the day. Especially since it was a Birthday.

5 star for sure! The service is very efficient and very professional. They are true to their advertising the buses are in excellent condition and they run on time!

Our drivers (Mikayela and Scotty) elevated the experience with their local knowledge and their genuine friendly nature. We loved it and would recommend this tour to GC locals and tourists!

Fun, Safe Tour with Knowledgeable Guides We had a fun time with Graham on the hop on hop off bus to Tamborine Mountain! The drive was safe and easy and Graham made sure we got to hit everything we wanted to do. It is worth noting that the route/order of stops is formed by multiple tour guides who help get everyone where they want to go once you're up on the mountain, so it's helpful to be flexible and to have an idea what you want to do once you're up there (we thought that the cars would run in a fixed circuit like other hop on hop off tours in big cities where we would plan our trip around the route, but the guides will plan the route around the guests!). Also you might be with other guests depending on who else is interested in your stop (though we got driven around just the two of us, thanks Graham!). The one stop the guides picked was the distillery at the end, where they seemed to have a hook up. Overall, a fun trip and so glad we got to see the mountain with a friendly and knowledgeable host!

Perfect day at Mount Tamborine Graham, our tour guide knew his stuff, was very lively and friendly. He picked us up on time and dropped us at our hotel too. The wineries were rustic and the wines served were quite special. The winery staff were also very accommodating to our requests, and did it with a smile. We were attended by the winemaker/owner at one winery, and the distiller/ owner at the next stop which made the trip even more special.

Lunch was included and it was very tasty, and the portions were generous too. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

She wasn't pushy with her sales pitch but had been so accommodating.

We had tried several types of wine, liqueur, tawny, and several shots of strong spirits with alcohol 🍸 contents ranging between 40 to 60 per cent.

The food was awesome 👌 👏 👍 with good servings. The beef cheek was superbly prepared and cooked.

At the end of our trip, a quick nap was needed. LOL 😆. Alcohol has kicked in, I guess 😅

Took a tour up to Mt Tamborine today with Pineapple Tours, awesome day out with a very knowledgeable guide. Waterfalls, glow worms, rainforest's, wineries and awesome food. Not once was I felt rushed and nothing was a bother for our guide. Do yourself a favour and travel with these guys, you won't be disappointed. Thank you Pineapple Tour's for a beautiful day.
