Hobart Highlights & Mount Wellington Shore Excursion
Duration:
Operated By:
As you step off your cruise ship and onto the bustling Hobart waterfront, your adventure begins with the Hobart Attractions Bus, a seamless and comfortable way to explore the city’s rich history and stunning sights. Led by a knowledgeable local guide who doesn’t just show you the sights—they bring them to life. Departing conveniently from close to the cruise terminal, this carefully designed tour takes you through the heart of Hobart, where grand sandstone warehouses at Salamanca Place stand as reminders of the city’s colonial past. The journey continues into Battery Point, a charming neighborhood where heritage cottages line narrow, winding streets, offering a glimpse into Tasmania’s early European settlement.
The bus glides along the waterfront, where fishing boats bob in the harbor and the modern city skyline meets its historic foundations. Along the way, your expert guide shares fascinating stories about Hobart’s transformation from a convict settlement to a thriving cultural hub. At Mount Nelson Lookout, you pause for a breathtaking panoramic view over the River Derwent and the city below, a perfect photo opportunity before continuing your journey.
After the city tour shifts into nature as you begin the climb up kunanyi / Mount Wellington. The road winds through towering eucalypt forests before giving way to the rugged alpine landscape that defines this Tasmanian icon. As you ascend, the temperature drops, the air turns crisp, and suddenly, at 1,271 meters above sea level, you arrive at the summit.
Stepping out onto the lookout platform, you’re met with an awe-inspiring view stretching far beyond Hobart. The vast Derwent River sparkles in the sunlight, Bruny Island lies on the horizon, and the rugged peaks of Tasmania’s wilderness seem to go on forever. The fresh mountain air fills your lungs as you take in the raw beauty surrounding you, capturing photos that will serve as lasting memories of your time in Tasmania.
After time to explore the summit, the journey back down offers one last chance to take in the spectacular scenery before returning to the city. With a smooth, hassle-free experience and a guaranteed on-time return to your ship, this tour blends the best of Hobart—its history, culture, and breathtaking landscapes—into one unforgettable shore excursion.

Pick up was a breeze, with great clear communication from Marie.
The team was able to accommodate our booking tailored to our needs at short notice. We were one of the first to arrive at the visitors centre which meant we could get in the first rangers briefing and head out on the track early.
Would definitely recommend Marie, David and eGuide to anyone requiring transport!
Thanks Marie & David 😊
Ian, the driver that drove us at drop off and pick up was very professional and obviously a very experienced driver. Very pleasant and safe driving from a passenger point of view. Also very timely on times we had agreed on. I will definitely recommend David and eGuide to anyone else needing transportation in Tasmania.

Dealt with David in the initial planning and coordination of our transfers. He was very responsive and accomodating with a couple of last minute changes to our itinerary. Hasslefree and safely looked after our bags whilst we were on the track.
Ian was our driver for drop off and pickup. Ian was very knowledgeable of the area and the history of the Overland Track and Tassie in general. He also knew the best cafes and bakery for early morning coffee and sausage rolls.😃.
Would thoroughly recommend eGuide for all your transfer needs.

eGuide made the organisation of our bushwalking trip super easy and David was always prompt with answers to my myriad questions. I would definitely recommend eGuide as a transport option for the Overland Track - they know their stuff and are wonderfully accomodating if your plans change.

Picked me up Deloraine and dropped me at Cradle and then met me after 7 days at Lake St Clair to return me to my van. Really reasonably priced for solo traveller.
Also was the David was the only one who realistically told me that I may be slower than my friends who had done it previously...my pack was 22kg and I am 153cm so may have been obvious
(FYI- I was 1.5 times the "recommended ' times so the tip was good)
Also hired PLB for $30 which I didn't set off.
Highly recommend and would definitely use them for with Sheffield or Deloraine if you have a car

Staying in Sheffield the night before the walk was also enjoyable.
Noting that many walkers were envious that we had our car awaiting us at the end of the walk!
Thanks again for a great service.

Definitely recommend this service.

How good is that! No cars, no fuss, wonderful company, helpful information and local knowledge. Thanks David and Marie!

Marie picked us up from Launceston and she shared such great tips about the OT as she drove us to Sheffield for the night. David picked us up early ti take us to Cradle Mountain and could be at the first safety briefing. Due to the forecast of a hot day we beat the afternoon heat for the first leg of the journey.
David and Marie also arranged to have our overnight bags delivered to the Derwent Bridge Hotel for our first night out off the OT, bliss!! They also arranged our transport to Hobart the next day.
A big thank you to both for making our Overland journey, stress-free, it was nice to be able to rely on such genuine knowledgeable people and would highly recommend them.
Marie picked our group of three up from Launceston Airport and we had a quick, pleasant transfer to Sheffield. Marie is very knowledgeable and readily offers up tips for the adventure to come.
The following morning there were low temps and quite a bit of rain about, so Marie made the wise decision to pick us up in a 4x4 instead of the usual people mover, for our trasnfer to the Walls of Jerusalem trailhead.
The friendliness, hospitality, and flexibility of this operator is exceptional. Give them a go.
