I came with my friend while on my trip to Queensland and I had a wonderful time exploring through the cave self guided tour and being able to see all the beautiful crystals from all over the world, such friendly and welcoming staff members who were full of knowledge, my friend and I even got to take part in cracking open our very own geo crystals . I will be coming back everytime I come to Queensland 10/10

I loved the experience. Crystal caves are amazing, plenty of gems, crystal from all around the world. It was so good that we end up spending more than 2 hours. The staff was very helpful and nice. They took our photos and were patient in choosing the return gifts.
It’s definitely a place to visit. There is a small fee for entry but absolutely worth it. The gems in the shops are all amazing, plenty of options and available at great price.
Will definitely come back so that I can buy more jewellery.

Don’t bother.
The jewellery and stones in the shop are not much better than I could get online, but are an ok price.
The tour and crack a geode were expensive and car parking is only one hour, so would feel rushed to do it.
It is ‘pet friendly’ and there was a very smelly dog in the shop. Totally put me off, and I left.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. We’re sorry to hear that your visit didn’t meet your expectations, but we do appreciate your feedback.
We’d like to clarify that the parking is council-managed, and there is an all-day free parking area behind the main street, which is clearly signposted as you arrive. We hope this information can make your next visit more convenient.
We also want to thank you for pointing out that our prices are competitive. We take pride in offering real, quality stones, something that can be difficult to guarantee when shopping online, so we’re glad to know you noticed that.
As for the pet-friendly atmosphere, we understand that not everyone shares the same preferences. Most of our customers really appreciate being able to bring their dogs into the shop, and we do our best to maintain a welcoming environment for everyone.
We truly value your feedback and hope you’ll consider visiting us again in the future.

The store itself had a wide range of gemstones and jewellery with open layout. Locals get a discount of $20 per person to go through the caves which did not disappoint one bit. We thoroughly enjoyed viewing the crystals and fossils from around the globe whilst making our way through a cave like museum. The headbands were extremely fashionable and a great souvenir. The nostalgia of returning reminded us of how great this place is for kids and adults alike. However the best thing was definitely the staff,

Very, very cool. How many museums actively encourage you to touch so many of their exhibits? And they’re displayed in interesting ways, with some good info in the guide book. My favourite was the fluorescence room with the black light.
Gift shop’s the opposite - leans hard into the “crystals have magical powers” thinking. Helps fund the magnificent stuff inside I guess.
Worth making the day trip from Cairns if you have even a glimmer of interest in geology or the natural world.

Absolute must do attraction if you’re in FNQ! We came here spontaneously and was one of the biggest highlights of our trip, you’re able to go into the museum and touch and feel crystals, with specimens that are better than the Australian museum in Sydney. Rene’s passion clearly flows through all of his staff and his business practices, as his love for crystals is what makes the crystal caves so magical. Absolutely must not miss this incredible experience!

Great interactive tour, but the name is a bit misleading. Don't expect a natural "cave system." It is a series of tunnels shaped like a cave that does a great job of displaying all the crystals. It's great your allowed to touch them too!

The sheer delight in his eyes as we ventured deeper into the man-made cavern, discovering hidden gems and wondrous formations, was a testament to the timeless allure of this place.
His enthusiasm was contagious, especially when he eagerly took on the challenge of geode breaking. It not only thrilled him but also provided an educational experience that sparked his curiosity about gemstones. He later spent the whole afternoon cataloguing a bucket of gems he purchased.
The Crystal Caves never cease to captivate, and I wholeheartedly extend my recommendation to anyone, whether you're visiting with children or simply nurturing the childlike wonder within your own heart.

What a great little museum. And dog friendly! We couldn't believe it when they invited us in. Travelling with a dog means frequently doing activities separately or missing out altogether. It was such a treat being able to go into something together with our dog. The crystal caves were well worth the price of admission. So many crystals to look at and read about. Very enjoyable way to spend an hour or two. The staff were friendly as well. Loved it.

This place is awesome. We were allowed to have our 2 dogs accompany us in the cave section and in the store front. We were made to feel so welcome and our dogs were given so much love and affection. I loved seeing the fossil section in the shop. It is clear evidence of Noah's flood.
Didn't go to the paid back/downstairs.
I enjoyed watching the children experience opening their own rock to see the interior. Crystal caves is very generous in that quite a few rocks were discarded before the child received their guaranteed sparkly one.

My girls (aged 7 and 10) were bursting at the seams to finally go to the Crystal Caves. They loved every second of it and were enthralled by the different gems, stones, rocks, etc. Even our boys (aged 4 and 14) who I thought may be less interested had a great time. The staff were really lovely and even let our dog and cat (both on leads) tour the cave with us! The kids also liked getting to keep the headbands at the end and the little bags of stones/gems they each got. Highly recommended.

We walked through the huge cavern that crystals, gems and fossils were displayed and I was gobsmacked. All of the items are labelled where they came from and this huge and beautiful display was created by one man in Australia finding a gem.
We bought an unopened geode and had it cracked open. Inside a beautiful crystal that was being viewed for the first time.
A must see.

What a great idea this man has come up with. Showing you how they are found in caves by placing them in the cracks and crevasses of his man made structure. No you don't 'have' to wear the miners head lamp and you don't even have to use it. But it adds to the effect of mining experience for children and you obviously see a lot more if you use it. Don't forget to look up in all areas more than once as you will miss things. It's educational, beautiful and you can stay in there for as long or as little as you like. I really enjoyed it. and would recommend it. The ladies upstairs in the shop were all lovely. Yes it's $25, but you have a bunch of staff upstairs who need to be paid. I would have enjoyed staying longer as I found it to be a feel good place. Don't forget to get the kids to crack a geo egg (aka rock) in the shop. As a coal miner myself it was a lot nicer than looker at coal.
The only negative things I'd have to say are:- the low roof over the ramp on the way in is far too low. I was uncomfortably bending over to see things. And I would have liked to have seen more things from Australia.
Thanks Crystal cave crew

Its a nice place to visit if you are around this area. Like other visitors suggested, this is a manmade one and we missed that fact and were slightly disappointed when we reached the place.
But its still worth a visit, if you have the time to drive to this place. You can pay for the tickets at the place. Also, the place is able to be visited during the shop hours and the self guided tour starts from the time you enter and lasts an hour.
The staff were really friendly and allowed us to use the staff toilets within the venue.
