She is such a gracious informative hostess and excellent driver at the same time. A must trip to get to know this gem of a city!
A bit more time at the beach and less in the residential would be a small plus
Whether you’re a local looking to rediscover your own backyard or a traveler seeing the city for the first time, a bus tour with Helen and the Ultimately Sydney team is an absolute must. The tour was comfortable, well-paced, and packed with insights and hidden gems that you’d never find on your own.
Helen is 100% worth her weight in gold — warm, professional, engaging, and truly one of a kind. Thanks for such a fantastic day out, Helen! I’ll be recommending your tours to everyone I know.
What really stood out to me was how immersive it all was. We didn’t just drive past landmarks we stopped, explored, and actually learned about them in a way that was easy to understand and genuinely interesting. From iconic places like the Opera House to lesser-known hidden gems, Helen gave us all the cool facts and stories behind them.
But it wasn’t just about history. Helen also talked a lot about Sydney’s culture and the people who live here. That made the city feel more real and relatable, especially for someone new like me. I walked away not only knowing more about Sydney’s past, but also feeling like I understood the vibe of the city and its communities.
I thought I’d be counting the minutes but the time flew by. If you're young, new to Sydney, or just want to actually feel the city instead of just seeing it, this tour is 100% worth it. Would totally recommend it to anyone, especially people around my age who think city tours are lame you might just be surprised.
Thanks for a wonderful tour! We would highly recommend this tour to anyone.
We did The Story of Sydney on the first full day of our visit. We were introduced to various neighborhoods throughout Sydney. As well, we toured all the way out to Bondi Beach and beyond. We got all the details that only a local would know. This alone was an incredible experience.
On Day Two we were back out with Ultimately Sydney and the The Taste of Sydney. This took us thru the flavors of the towns surrounding Sydney. We not only experienced casual cuisine in Darling Harbor and a unique experience at the Tramsheds, we also visited a local winery, a small Gin distillery, and a wonderful watermelon cake dessert.
In order to truly have a local experience it is important to tour the areas, listen to the stories, and eat the local food offerings.
Helen, our guide, gave us the ultimate tour(s). After the second day of touring, we were able to navigate the town and eat like we were long time residents.
I would highly recommend both of these tours if you are visiting.
I would definitely tour again during my next visit.
I highly recommend this tour and found it great value for money.
We discovered little gems we didn't know existed, the food was delicious (as were the drinks!) and it was a super easy stroll around discovering the historical pocket of Sydney.
Helen's enthusiasm is infectious and it was so lovely meeting her. We'll definitely be investigating other tours!
