Our Private Group Surf Lesson is the perfect option for couples, families, and small groups who want a more tailored experience at Margaret River. With a dedicated instructor and a focus on your specific skill level and goals, you’ll progress faster and have more fun than in a standard group setting.

Couples, families, small groups, and anyone wanting a more personalised surfing experience. Minimum 2 people. All ages and abilities welcome. No prior experience needed.

Hi there,
You’re all set — and we can’t wait to have you in the water with us.
I’m Simon, founder and head coach at Margaret River Surfing Academy. Whether this is your first time on a board or you’re getting back into it, we’re going to make sure it’s an experience you don’t forget.
Here’s everything you need to know before your session:
What to bring Swimwear, a towel, sunscreen (SPF 50+), and a water bottle. That’s it — we take care of everything else. Surfboards and wetsuits are all provided.
Where to meet us We meet at the Rivermouth Car Park (Prevelly). If there is any change to location, you will receive either a text or an email to change location to either Gracetown, or Grunters Beach at Prevelly. The message will have a pin to follow for the location. We’ll always put you in the best possible location on the day.
What time to arrive Please arrive 10–15 minutes before your session start time so we can get you fitted with the right equipment and run through our ocean safety briefing before we hit the water.
On the day Every session starts with a land-based ocean safety briefing — we cover rip currents, wave reading, board safety, and entry and exit. Then we’re in the water together for the full session. Our coaches are with you the entire time — nobody gets left to figure it out alone.
