A night tour at Mulligans Flat Woodland Sanctuary is a unique experience to step back in time, spotlighting for endangered animals.
Operated By:
Our guide will take you deep into the Sanctuary, inside the predator-proof fence, where native animals are thriving in the absence of foxes and feral cats.
On the tour you might be lucky enough to witness the Eastern Bettong foraging on native truffles in the wild (this species has been extinct from the Australian mainland for almost 100 years). Or see a tiny sugar glider eating nectar from the top of a flowering eucalyptus tree. You can observe various kangaroo and wallaby species feeding in their natural environment. Possums are often spotted slowly walking along the ground from tree to tree, as they have adapted to their predator free environment.

Went to the twilight tour with Marnie and Isabelle and we had a fantastic time! We saw echidnas, bittongs, possums, a trapdoor spider, a curlew and even had a cheeky quoll pop out and say hi at the end! We learnt all about the conservation efforts of endangered species at Mulligans flat, and all the amazing efforts happening to stabilise the natural box gum grassland ecosystem. We had an absolutely fantastic time, and would highly recommend their Twilight tours!

A very nice new facility in Throsby. Very good coffee and pastries at the cafe, which will hopefully grow its menu over time as they currently only do coffees and cakes. A big thumbs up to the volunteer guide on duty this morning in the visitors centre, and the ranger we met on our walk through the nature reserve - both very friendly and helpful gentlemen. And my son loved the outdoor play area, and meeting the turtles and lizards in the visitors centre.
