Description

Your flying lesson commences with a classroom briefing on all you need to know to enable you to control the aircraft on your first lesson. After the briefing the instructor will take you through the pre-flight inspection of the training aircraft prior to you sitting in the pilot seat and preparing for your flight. Your instructor will talk you through the start up taxiing and take-off before you take to the skies. The flight is to the south of Moorabbin airport. During the first 30 minute flight you will have hands on experience in flying the aeroplane. Following the flight there will be opportunity for you to record your flight in your pilot logbook.

Your second and third flights will follow a similar format with the pre-flight briefing and inspection followed by a 60 minute flight. You will have the benefit of your own pilot headset and logbook, which are part of the essential tools required to becoming a pilot. Included in this package is 2.5 hours dual instruction in a light training aircraft, a headset and a Pilot Log Book. Please note: Due to the popularity of this experience, weekend appointments book well in advance. If you have a weekend date in mind please give advance notice. To get the most out of your experience, it is best to stagger your private flying lessons over 2-3 weeks.

Guidelines

You must be of 15 years of age. Weight restrictions and surcharges DO apply if you weight 100kg or more, and/or are unable to fit comfortably within the aircraft – please contact us if you have any concerns as options for other aircraft types are available.

How to Get There

Tristar Aviation, 59 Bundora Parade, Moorabbin Airport, Mentione, Vic 3194. Detailed directions can be supplied at the time of booking. Please book at least 8 weeks in advance for weekend sessions. Session numbers will be limited and slowly expanded as the situation allows.

Session Length

Allow 2-3 sessions to complete your training package. Your first lesson includes 30 minute flying time, followed by 2 x 60 minute flights

Cancellation Policy
Once this experience has been confirmed, changes are at the discretion of the experience provider and arranged with them according to their policy.

Rescheduling, Participant Changes, Numbers on the Day

One on one with your instructor. Due to COVID 19 participants are requested to attend alone if possible, if someone needs to accompany them please limit to one person.

Spectators

Please limit to one person if possible.

Weather

Flying may be cancelled in certain weather conditions, which would make the flight uncomfortable for a novice. Please call the flying school if in any doubt. Any cancelled flights will be rescheduled for a later date.

Dress Code

Comfortable clothing and footwear to enable you to climb in and out of aircraft. (High heels not recommended).

Our operators and their instructors are approved by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority and are members of the Aviation Safety Foundation of Australia. This experience is conducted in a 2 seat training aircraft.
