Escape the everyday and discover the best of the Collie River Valley Region on an adventure that blends scenic valley views, flowing rivers, scenic forest trails, local flavour and the kind of feel good moments that stay with you long after the day is done.
Your journey begins at the impressive Wellington Dam, home to the striking Reflections mural, where art, culture and landscape come together on a truly grand scale. Standing before one of the world’s largest dam wall murals is the perfect way to begin a day shaped by connection to place and the natural beauty of the region.
From here, we lace up and hit the stunning Kurliiny Tjenagitj (meaning “come and see” in Noongar language) Trail, a spectacular 9.5km loop within Wellington National Park. Winding through towering jarrah and marri forest, this trail showcases everything that makes Collie special. Expect peaceful bush tracks, granite outcrops, flowing river views and rewarding elevated lookouts across the Collie River Valley. With gentle to moderate undulations, it’s a trail that keeps things interesting while delivering plenty of scenic reward.
Along the way, we’ll pause for a delicious morning tea in nature, giving you time to catch your breath, soak up the surroundings and enjoy those signature OTBT moments of laughter, connection and shared adventure.
As we continue, the trail reveals more of Collie’s rugged charm, from tranquil water glimpses to sweeping forest vistas. It’s the kind of hike that leaves you feeling energised, grounded and grateful you said yes!
Then, just when you think the day couldn’t get any better, we swap hiking boots for relaxed brewery vibes and head to Brugan Brewery. Settle in with a well earned meal and a refreshing craft brew or beverage as we toast an epic day on trail.
Collie Hike, Brews & Views is the perfect mix of movement, scenery, great company and local flavour. Expect stunning landscapes, fresh country air, plenty of smiles and that unbeatable feeling of leaving better than you arrived.

The scenery was simply breathtaking. The coastline, beaches, forests and the entire Margaret River region are absolutely spectacular. We had prepared ourselves for typical winter conditions, expecting to be freezing cold and blown off the tracks, but we were incredibly fortunate with beautiful weather that made an already amazing experience even more enjoyable.
The hospitality throughout the trek was second to none. Gene Hardy gave us the warmest welcome from day one and went above and beyond to make sure everyone was looked after. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and his passion and care really made the trip extra special.
The food was outstanding, and after long days of hiking, every meal was something to look forward to. The accommodation was also perfect—comfortable, welcoming and exactly what we needed to recharge each night.
This hike was definitely challenging, especially completing the full 132 km over just 5 days, but every kilometre was worth it. The sense of achievement at the finish is hard to put into words. There were plenty of emotions and even a few tears when it was all over, as none of us wanted the experience to end.
If you're looking for a hike that will challenge you physically, reward you with incredible scenery, and leave you with lifelong memories, I couldn't recommend the Cape to Cape Track highly enough. It was worth every dollar, every bit of effort, and every sore muscle. We finished with smiles on our faces every single day, and I would do it all again in a heartbeat. Sharyn Martin
The fourth peak absolutely tested me — my lungs were burning — but all I had to do was keep moving, one foot in front of the other, head up. Reaching the top felt like such an achievement.
I’m so grateful to the fabulous hikers I chatted with along the way, sharing stories and our love of being outdoors. And a huge thank you to Kirsten and Rozdi — your encouragement and experience got me over the Four Peaks. I’ll definitely be back for another endurance.
The WOW cruise with Gary Muir was a hoot.
OTBT guides are knowledgeable, helpful and lots of fun. And a bit cheffy. And we came third at the local pub quiz night.
Accommodation was excellent, as were all our lunch and dinner venues in the Walpole / Denmark area. Thoroughly recommend.
WOW! This trip was amazing from start to finish. So well organised and run by very experienced and knowledgeable guides. I felt safe and well looked after at all times.
OTBT guides are good cooks too, the falafel wrap was really yummy and fresh 🌯🤤 we lost count of rainbows that we saw along the way, it was really magical. Happy we did it in May. Thank you again OTBT WA team for organising another beautiful getaway hiking tour for us. But be warned you will be on cloud nine daydreaming for the next couple of days after your return, until eventually you come back to earth and plan your next get away trip 🌸🥾✨ We will be back for more uplifting hikes in the future😊
History, and information about wildlife and wildflowers was shared while walking. Tea and grazing platters at the summit, live music played quietly while the sun was setting. A walk back in the dark with head torches before pausing to turn all the torches off and spend some time star gazing.
I expected a walk, and ended up walking away with a life long memory. Thanks Off the Beaten Track WA!
I can not praise the team and experience enough, they were so supportive of everyone & constantly checking in on each other!
The views and bushlife were spectacular & the yoga was the cherry on top!
Such a beautiful end to the hike, time to relax, unwind and what’s the beautiful moon come up!
I def recommend this wholesome tour and thanks again to the team
What an amazing stroll for seniors with the expertise of our fabulous OTBT guide, Kym! The pace was leisurely for us seniors, and the knowledge of wildflowers, trees, fauna and other flora by the guide was fabulous! But best of all was the scrumptious morning tea supplied and the conversations with other guests whom I did not know until that walk.
Ash kept us highly entertained with his comments and jokes!!!
I would highly recommend 'Off The Beaten Track', especially Ash as your guide.
From the very beginning, Mike made everyone feel welcome and at ease. His passion for the outdoors, knowledge of the local area, and calm, friendly nature really set the tone for the entire experience. The hike itself was stunning, with beautiful views, peaceful bushland, and just the right level of challenge.
When we reached the summit, we were greeted with jaw-dropping views and a sunset that painted the entire sky in shades of pink, orange, and gold. It was the perfect setting for our yoga session.
The yoga practice was gentle and grounding, guided by a wonderful instructor who created a space where everyone – no matter their skill level – could relax and connect. Doing yoga as the sun dipped below the horizon was something truly special.
Huge thanks to Mike and the OTBT team for creating such a meaningful and memorable experience. I left feeling refreshed, inspired, and deeply grateful. Can’t wait to book my next adventure with you!
The scenery was spectacular, the guides were exceptional, the food was delicious and the accommodation was excellent. The hike itself was physically challenging for me but so enjoyable and so worth it!

We learnt lots about the local area on the way thanks to their great knowledge and spent a lot of time laughing. Would definitely join again and had a great time!
OFF THE BEATEN TRACK, led by Tracy and with wonderful help from Sarah and Anne Marie.
Every part of the walk was explained and advice was given.
The break in the middle was welcome, with tea and refreshments and a lovely platter of biscuits and cheeses and strawberries and other items.
Thank you for supplying the walking poles to me as a newby.
I thoroughly enjoyed the walk as a 77 year old senior.

As always, the experience was exceptional from start to finish. Our guides (Mikey and Kym) were outstanding – knowledgeable, supportive, and full of good humour – which made the whole trip even more enjoyable. We had plenty of laughs along the way, were treated to gourmet food, and even enjoyed some wine tasting on the journey back.
Everything was so well organised and thoughtfully planned. I always feel looked after and inspired on these trips.
Can’t wait to join OTBT for more adventures in the future!
Highly recommend.
