Operated By:
Dive into a breathtaking underwater wonderland and discover the stories of the Great Barrier Reef. Be inspired by the awe-inspiring Museum of Underwater Art (MOUA), a world-first installation blending spectacular art with marine science. 🐠
An Unmatched Reef Experience
Departing from Townsville or Magnetic Island on our custom-built day vessels, you will journey to the pristine Central Section of the Great Barrier Reef. Located further off the Queensland coast, this exclusive area boasts some of the absolute best dive and snorkel sites on the entire reef, offering exceptional visibility and thriving marine ecosystems.
Explore the Coral Greenhouse
As the first of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, MOUA highlights global reef conservation, restoration, and education. Located at John Brewer Reef, this site is rich in indigenous history and marine heritage. The star attraction, the Coral Greenhouse—designed by world-renowned artist Jason deCaires Taylor—is a bucket-list experience you cannot miss! This staggering 72-metre structure features a beautiful mix of art and science, adorned with life-like sculptures, trees, and coral gardens that create a magical playground for divers. 🌊
A Thriving Marine Sanctuary
Surrounding the museum is a spectacular coral reef bursting with life. The brilliant colours of the reef provide a stunning natural backdrop to the man-made art. With depths ranging from 1 to 20 metres, this site is perfect for snorkellers, beginners, and experienced divers alike. Keep an eye out for our local reef residents: 🐢
- Vibrant Reef Fish: Schools of baitfish, colourful Parrotfish, Maori wrasse, Clownfish, and Angelfish.
- Majestic Marine Life: Regular sightings of sea turtles, stingrays, and reef sharks (white tip and black tip).
- Reef Conservation: Learn how the Great Barrier Reef is managed and discover simple ways you can help protect this natural wonder for future generations.

We had one scuba dive through the underwater museum and a glorious snorkel over the reef. Staff were great
A little rough on the way out so some wet travelers, but that’s part of the adventure. If you need a comfortable reef trip, go on a big boat from Airlie.
It is so rough out on the waters to get to the reef, causing so much sickness i couldn't enjoy it. 3 hours to get there and back felt like absolute torture. Travacalm tablets do not work. The boat is small so you feel everything - the seats are not comfortable at all. Everything is wet and one side of the boat gets smashed with water.
The food is not a buffet, its just wraps you have to make yourself.
I had booked a discover dive but sadly couldn’t bring myself to attempt it because of how unwell I felt, which was really disappointing.
That said, I do want to acknowledge the boat staff. They were incredibly kind and supportive throughout.
Thank you all the friendly crew and especially Damian my instructor
Everyone participate to make it memorable and everything mer my expectations
Looking forward for the next dives on Sunday !!
We even caught Humpack Whales breeching on the way there!
Boat was in great condition and very comfortable. Lunch and plenty of snacks provided.
Learning the history of the wreck was an added bonus. So much marine life to enjoy. Highly recommend 👌
And then there is the SS Yongala itself. Epic!
Other than always feeling that safety is an absolute priority with Adrenalin, the vessel was perfect for the day (love lounging upstairs) and the dives were mind blowing. We’ve been out here many times and have experienced some hectic current occasionally on the wreck and regularly hectic surface current. It was ripping on the surface today but once below 4 or so meters it was so calm. On the wreck itself the marine life were going nuts today. Loads and loads of large fish feeding - more than I’ve seen before on Yongala. We could easily just hover and observe in zero current. Utter blissful experience.
