Blowing bubbles with the sharks Had an amazing experience with my twin brother as volunteers on the crew’s final trip of the season. While we didn’t see any great whites, got to enjoy some incredible sunshine, cage diving and some visits from some bronzie’s and southern eagle rays. Wonderful and mind captain, crew and chef. Lovely guests as well. A great way to experience the lower Eyre Peninsula

Trip of a lifetime! Best trip of my life! I did the 4 nights/5 days, and was only able to do the surface cage. I've wanted to see a great white shark since I was just a little girl, so this was huge for me. In the weeks leading up to the trip, sightings had not been good, but I was locked in so I went in hopeful and boy am I glad I did! We saw sharks every day. If you can do the floor cage, definitely do it. I'm unable to scuba due to health concerns, but even the surface cage had TONS of action.

Obviously seeing the sharks was a big part of what made this trip so special, but the Rodney Fox crew were absolutely AMAZING. They worked so hard every day to give us the best experience possible, and I can't emphasize enough how wonderful they all are. The food was also incredible. There wasn't a meal I didn't like and we were very well fed.

The living quarters are pretty small, but they're comfortable clean.

I can't say enough good things about this company and my experience.

Wow! Wow! Wow!!!!! Truly Amazing— a lifelong dream fulfilled!!!
I just departed from 2 back to back charters and saw Great White Sharks on all but one bottom cage dive. On that one, we saw gummy sharks swimming along the bottom. The surface cage (both charters) saw a lot of action from great whites and a mako.
The crew was great, the diving safe and well run, the boat was comfortable and the food was yummy and plentiful.
This is not the fanciest liveaboard you have probably experienced, but everyone is there for the same reason—to see Great White Sharks. When you awaken in the morning to the sound of”shark” from the back deck, you know it’s going to be a great day! Thanks to all for making this such an incredible experience, compete with up close shark action!!!!

Highly Recommended Experience Just incredible. Shark (great white and Mako) sightings every day both bottom and surface cages. Crew were fantastic and worked so hard to keep the sharks interested. Overall on board living conditions were beyond expectation. Food was fantastic and we never went hungry.

Wonderful Experience I cannot fault this trip at all. It is a wonderful experience from the moment you board the MV Rodney Fox until the moment you leave.

The Crew are unbelievable enthusiastic, full of energy, friendly, helpful and go the extra mile to ensure every guest on board is catered for.

The fun factor on board is electric. I made many friends and created special memories during my trip to the Neptune Islands.

An added bonus was the Quiz night which was so much fun, and also the Shark Talk presentation which provided an excellent base knowledge about these animals.

Absolutely Unforgettable! What an absolutely fantastic experience! Everyone was great! Andrew, Kristen, Bill (Captain), Maddi (Trip Director), Maddie (Chef), Ash, Rayna, Emma, Hex, and Irish took such good care of us! Our time at the northern and southern Neptune Islands as well as our trips to Grindal & Hopkins Island were fantastic! So was our trip to Memory Cove. This was such a memorable experience that I will take this experience into the next lifetime! I highly recommend them! You won't be disappointed!

Seeing great white sharks is amazing It was truly a trip of a lifetime. The crew was very attentive on everything we needed. We were able to see sharks and they made sure in anyway possible that that happened. I would recommend for anyone who likes adventure travel to do this trip.

Nightmare after Christmas First of all, I will start with the positives. Staff was very nice, professional and well-disposed also in tough conditions. I would also point that my judgement is not based on the Shark viewing. Sharks are wild creatures, so you can be lucky or you cannot. My review is based on the boat. The nightmare boat. That’s how I have felt when I was there. No one here is asking for fancy cabins or deck. I am talking about essential comforts. To start, I will talk about common areas. The only common area on main deck is in towards the front side of the boat, therefore you would feel waves much more, which would make anybody feel sick, especially without windows. You could say, if you suffer sea sickness stay on upper open deck, right? I would point that people under sea sickness treatment continued feel bad because of sea, it’s not that they got sick because they got no treatment. Upper deck then. The upper deck has no cover, so basically when it’s bad weather (wind, rough seas) you get cold and wet, when the sun is out you get burnt, basically a trap with no escape for the poor souls that decided to onboard. I think it was a too severe punishment for my sins. So you could say, well go to your room! I would dare to spend more than the Night in a 2.5m x 2.5m cabin. The cabins are not basic, they are cages. The fact that upper deck had one common toilet in 12+ guests did not help. To me, common toilets and showers work well if you go to warm places with calmer seas. Imagine walking up at night, having to escape the cage, go in the dark and cold, and look for an over-used toilet. I have been to Expedition ships before, no one told me this was expedition to hell. My experience was terrible as you can imagine, so we decided to leave the trip before the end, thankfully rescued by another operator. But besides all of this, the most worrying thing to me was the decision to make the trip at all. The sea was rough, and conditions with wind, climate and temperature were horrible, it was even difficult to anchor and put cage in the sea. I think you can claim that I am a fancy guy, though you would be wrong, but I had impression safety was not fully taken into account, which is disturbing given you are in the middle of nowhere. The “leading” White Shark expedition operator is because it’s the sole operator. Of course, I cannot recommend!

Rodney Fox Shark Expeditions — Amazing Crew & Great Experience We joined the Rodney Fox expedition in November 2025, and the entire crew was fantastic from start to finish. The dive facility was set up really well — organized, safe, and easy to use, which made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable.
Unfortunately, we didn’t see any great whites on this trip, but we still had an incredible time. We met great people on the boat, learned a lot from the team, and appreciated how hard the crew worked to give us the best possible experience.
Even without shark sightings, it was a memorable adventure and we’re glad we went.

A diving experience of a lifetime The wonderful team at Rodney Fox Shark Expeditions gave my group a lifetime experience. Great diving, lively conversation, considerate care, and an all 'round great time. Totally awesome. It would have been great without, but we had the fortune of seeing three white sharks and many Australian sea lions as well. Just exquisite.

Amazing!! Absolutely out of this world!!
From the inital contact with Kristen and Amanda in the office, to getting off the boat, this was the holiday of a lifetime!
The night before we sailed, I stayed in Port Lincoln Marina Hotel and this is where my Rodney Fox adventure started. I met some of the other passengers and we were more than happy to share our hopes and dreams for the voyage.
The next day, we were all picked up, driven to the port and there she was - the MV Rodney Fox, home for the next 6 nights.
From the moment we stepped on board and was shown our cabins, I could tell that it was going to be such a good experience and I was not wrong. Big shout to all of the crew - Bill - skipper, Maddi - Trip Director, Maddie - chef and dive team - Iris, Mitch, Sam and Emma who literally worked their backsides off all day, every day to ensure we wanted for nothing. Everything from the food to safety was first class.
Seeing the GW in her natural environment was literally the dream come true. Maddi and Mitch worked so hard to keep her with us and she stayed for around 3 hours so we could all get in the surface cage and see her.
I would do this trip again in a heartbeat.

Amazing Adventure Everything about this trip was more than I could have hoped for, from the moment you step on board the crew are friendly and welcoming. The cabins are warm and comfy and the food is delicious and they cater to dietary requirements. Fish surround the boat in crystal clear water and of course the sharks from Gummy, Bronze Whalers, Rays and Great Whites. Seeing them glide by just inches away is impossible to put into words and has to be experienced to be believed. Swimming with the Sea Lions was the icing on the cake, having these playful creatures swim up and around you and stop as if posing for a photo rounded off a perfect trip.

The experience of a lifetime! Getting the chance to see great white sharks up close in a cage is something I had always dreamed of doing, and I was thrilled to be able to do it on a 10-day trip with one of the best in the business. I was on a trip overseas with a group and can’t say enough good things about the Rodney Fox crew. They are clearly passionate about what they do, about the sharks, about the marine life, and shared a wealth of information about sharks, conservation and the area. We did get really lucky and see sharks — four of them — and got sea lions and leafy sea dragons to boot. It’s not the sexiest boat out there — yes, accommodation might feel a little spare if you’re used to bougie dive boats — but if you love being around a fun, passionate crew that will get you excited about what’s in the ocean and the sharks you might see, then this is the joint for you. Much love to Slav, Maddie, Emma, Iris, Ash, Hex, Maddie (the cook) and Chris!

The best global Shark Diving Experience without question! Had the absolute privilege to be on the 7-day live aboard for the Jaws 50th Anniversary. Blown away by all the staff and the personal attention that Rodney and Andrew gave to everyone on the trip. If you are considering between the Calypso day trip and an extended trip with Rodney and Andrews' team, then I would say absolutely spend the extra money and go with Rodney Fox as the experience will be like night and day. A trip of a lifetime. Get yourself booked on !

Unforgettable This trip has to be one of the most fun exciting and memorable adventures l have been on.

We had great weather and sharks everyday.

There is really nothing to be afraid of,everybody was keen to get into the cages, the thrill of seeing a Great White up close is tremendous.

The time flew by, the food was delicious.

People bonded with each other, and even more so with the staff, who took care of everything

At the end of the trip it was difficult to say goodbye, people became emotional.

l will definitely be doing this again.

Trip of a lifetime!!! What a great trip! I couldn't recommend Rodney Fox more. The crew was absolutely fabulous. They were professional, friendly and made the trip the coolest thing I've ever done. Outstanding experience! Traveled solo and had great time! Staff are very friendly and had different activities. Randomly came across this trip. Booked in last min with minimal expectations as I am just want to do a short liveaboard trip during my Xmas & New Year break. The team was lovely, approachable and very knowledgeable. They worked hard trying to find sharks for us, as well provide our daily needs too!

Bucket list #1! Amazing experience! Rodney Fox Shark Expeditions is an absolute must for all shark lovers and, it should be the top of the bucket list. Forget the day trip, dive deep into an experience you will never forget!

I would say this is once in a lifetime . but I will 100% be back . again! After my first visit last year I had to go back! There is no other experience like this left in the world! The bottom cage is incredible. Surface cage diving experiences give you a small glimpse of Great White Shark behaviour, however the bottom cage allows you to stay down and observe GWS's swim calmly and naturally on the sea floor.

Even if the surface cage is for you, the ability to stay out at the Neptune Islands makes this your so much more than a day trip. I loved the surface cage and spent hours in between bottom cage dives each day!

The crew, vessel and food were amazing. The Captain Bill and crew went out of their way to assist and try different options. Especially the long transits to ensure we could dive and get protection from the wind (can't control the weather).

The sea lions were also incredible, and an experience I won't forget . at one point we had >20 in the water, and being on scuba I could stay down and do flips and summersaults then sit on the bottom as they approached and sat cm from me .

Huge thank you to the company and amazing crew for an experience I have dreamt of my whole life . I will be back!

We Got to see the sharks in the first day , it was an amazing day , the crew is really lovely and professional. All of them know exactly what they are doing , what make you feel really safe above and under the water , I really enjoyed the company of Kate in the cage , really cool girl and good guide ! The food was amazing !!!

Unforgettable experience, can't wait to do it again That's by far one of the best adventure a shark lover like me could have hoped for. I have spent a week on board of the Rodney Fox and still can't believe to what I've seen, we spotted 4 different great whites, some dolphins and we swam with sea lions too. My only regret is that I tried the bottom cage only on the last day and the experience is hard to describe. The atmosphere on board was very friendly and relaxing. The food was delicious and the crew was outstanding. The whole organization was flawless, deeply committed to provide a safe environment for us and for the sharks . I can't wait to come back as soon as possible and enjoying the whole thrill this time from the bottom cage!
I recommend this adventure to all the shark lovers and also to the ones who think that this marvelous apex predators are just heartless killers, I'm sure they will change their mind!!!

A must do This was truely a once in a life time experience. The trip was blessed with some fine weather and most importantly sharks.

The crew of Bill, Karen, Maddie, Zoe, Maia, Remi and Irish were brilliant, very helpful and provided safe cage diving experiences.

Special mention must go to Karen's great cooking ..worth the trip just for the muffins.

Great shark but lackadaisical efforts by the Rodney Fox This is the last place in the world where you can currently dive with sharks. Unfortunately they need to up their game. There had not been great whites for 93 days. Our first day there the first two groups decided not to go down in the cold. My group went down sharks or not because you need to attract them in. Immediately after our dive the first great white appeared. There is no reason why the crew did not take the first cage down to chum to attract the sharks. They should have gone down everyday first to attract sharks and report what was there. They half heartedly were chumming on the surface. On the last day the crew did not know their own companies' policies and cut our last dive because we had a flight 20 hours from then. The company policy is 18. For the money we paid, we were not happy about losing a dive, poor communication and the crew who were super nice not being more proactive. We had great interactions with the sharks but the lack of direction and control by the captain was very disappointing. The boat is nice, the crew are friendly and nice and the food was fine. The day boat calypso was getting more surface action as they were actively working to attract sharks. Our crew seemed to be just hoping they came in. We had breaches but time in the surface cage was mostly just sitting in the cold water looking at trevally and kingfish. Chumming in the dive cage definitely worked. On the last day crew went down first probably due to our comments. They should have gone days 1 and 2 also.

An incredible experience Went on a 3 night trip with the Rodney Fox crew and it was truly one of the most incredible experiences of my life. We saw so many beautiful great white sharks, the crew were so thoughtful and friendly and the food is hearty and delicious. Just what is needed when you're losing track of time spotting sharks from the top deck or climbing in and out of the surface cage like me. I'd say it's once in a lifetime but I am 100% going again.

Rodney fox expeditions. This was a gold class experience.
Do not bother looking anywhere else.
This experience will surpass your highest expectations.

A perfect execution of a bucket list experience What a trip. The organisation, the people the food, the care and the level of service all added to a truly exceptional experience. We had Tim as our Skipper, Chelsea as our cook and Jacob as our incomparable cage captain. They, along with the rest of the crew, and the sharks all made this a trip beyond my expectations. This is surely the best cage diving operation in the world. Cannot recommend highly enough. We went in October. The water was chilly but visibility was excellent and the sharks and sea lions were highly interactive. Cannot rate it anything below perfect. Toby, Tony and Mike.

Our wonderful Journey I am writing the review for our group of 3 friends that have known each other for over 30years that just completed the tour. The once in a life time experience came at us in different ways and manners. It hard to explain the trip in such short word options for me and the group I believe we could write a novel on our journey that would be exciting, empowering and at time challenging.
We all (participants) met at the mariner at the proposed time for pick up to be taken to the boat, it so happened that the Prime Minister had come to see us off Joe our new American friend said that would not happen at in his country. Of course the PM was there promoting the Voice.
It truly started on a high and the highs remained with us throughout the trip. The people including staff and the other passengers created a strong bond that promoted belonging and ownership of our shared journey but more importantly it also allowed us to reflect and embrace our own individual journey in a safe and empowering environment.
In same ways this made sighting the Great Whites even more exciting as their were strangers genuinely celebrating your achievements and experiences it truly was a selfless gift from all participants and staff members.
Each day we had the pleasure of swimming with up to 3 Great Whites at a time. Its hard to explain how they exude gracefulness but at the same time be the powerful Apex Predator they are admired and feared for.
It would be remise of me not to mention, Moo the boat cook and the most caring and sharing man I had pleasure to meet. The high quality food kept coming and people were amazed and appreciative. This tour was Moo last and we are all in agreement we felt honoured that we could share this with him.
In closing I just wanted to say sharing these amazing creatures environment was a gift and one i know as a group will cherish for the remainder of our lives.

Awe inspiring This has to be one of the most incredible experiences I have ever encountered. The staff were friendly, caring and always on hand to help with anything big or small during the 3 days at sea.
The chef went above and beyond to allow me to feel safe eating on board as having coeliac disease I am normally very worried but Moo (Michael) made sure I had nothing to worry about.
I was a bottom cage diver and my dive masters created such an exciting and unique experience the allowed for me to see multiple sharks, rays, blue groper and plenty of other awesome sea life.
We also had a lovely swim with the cute and playful sea lions.
You do need your own camera though the crew did lend out their personal devices to anyone who had forgotten one.
The rooms are small but cosy and the bunk beds were surprisingly comfortable. I 100% recommend this trip and will be going again.

Great white trip October 23 Going on this trip was off my bucket list and it did not disappoint in any way. The sharks were everything I expected, a number around, some more on some dives than others but this is expected. The company is very professional. The crew worked hard, all of them throughout the whole trip. Always there to help and chat and with a smile, and a no problem attitude. The food, amazing, just what u needed and more. I will repeat this trip in the short term future and happily join the RF expeditions.
Just a fantastic trip in all areas.

Bucket List Recommendation This was a bucket list adventure, and it didn't disappoint! The accomodations were tighter than most other liveaboards in my experience, but the crew and food were phenomenal! Would highly recommend!

Incredible Trip of a Lifetime!! The 3 day liveaboard trip on the Rodney Rox was an absollutely amazing and unforgettable experience. Firstly, the crew (Maddi, Dave, Wardy, Ash, Tim, Kelly, Kerri) were incredible. They were extremely knowledgeable, helpful, fun, positive, friendly, and made sure everyone had a great experince. Maddi even lent me her Gopro when mine was having issues, she is the best! They created a fun, friendly, and safe environment on the ship even when we experienced bad weather. The bad weather prevented us from cage diving one of the three days, but the crew were able to organize the sea lion snorkel and an island excursion for that day, which was equally as cool! They also made sure we got the maximum amount of diving on the other days as possible, even if that meant looking for a safe and sheltered area for a few hours instead of just giving up. Depsite missing a day, I still got four dives in the ocean floor and surfaces cage, and lots of shark sighting in! The sharks we saw were incredible, many came very close to the bottom and surface cages, and we probablly saw about 6-7 individuals across the trip.

The bunks are small but still quite comfortable and clean, the food was good, there are lots of drink options available, the bathrooms were always clean. With five toilets and four showers for the shared bunks, there was never a wait to use one. One thing to note is depending on weather it can get quite rough, make sure to take lots of seasick tablets beforehand and regularly throughout the trip.

This experience was amazing and I don’t have one negative thing to say about it. The crew was amazing, the shark diving and other wildlife encounters were amazing, and I cannot recommend this enough. Thank you so much for this experience Rodney Fox crew!!!

An absolute MUST!! My partner and I had an incredible experience on our 3day expedition. We travelled to to Port Lincoln after wanting to do this trip for 3 years. We were not disappointed.
The food was delicious and plenty of it! Staff were approachable and kind. Rooms are comfortable and clean. I recommend booking with Rodney Fox expeditions because you get an abundance of time in the cages (we did surface cage only), and the staff do everything they possibly can to keep you entertained during the trip if you have poor weather or no shark activity. Thank you so much to the entire crew, we were lucky enough to see many sharks, swim with sea lions and see rock wallabies and go for a walk on an island! I already want to book another trip!!
**important note: when the tour ends, they provide transport to everyones accommodation free of charge. I did not know this so booked with Marina Hotel because that's where the boat drops you off - however this is not the case**

Bloody fantastic I just completed a 5 day trip and it was outstanding. Kelly the chef and jack of all trades made sure everyone was always well fed and that everyone was catered for, I looked forward everyday to having a yarn and laugh with her. If nothing else I would do the trip again just for the food.
The crew was comprised of Maddi, Kris, Ash, Wardy and Dave all fantastic and went above and beyond. Everyone had a wealth of experience and knowledge and were more than happy to help out and have a yarn.
The master and engineer Tim made sure we got there and back safely and put us right on target.
Everyone was genuine and made sure we all had a good time and learnt a lot.
The facilities on the vessel were great and good qualiry I couldn't fault it.
Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone who is thinking of going. Was great to go out with like minded people and experience something special. Well done guys I was impressed. Will be coming back with my young fella when he is a bit older.

Incredible An incredible trip, that brought me tears of joy, for my first experience seeing the Great White Shark in real life! A dream come true!

The crew (Maddi, Kris, Ash, Wardy and Dave) were soooo accommodating, happy, supportive and helpful! Skipper Tim was a champ, and Chef Kelly cooked up the most incredible meals, catering for all dietary needs! Every meal was delicious!

Can't wait to come back to hang with this crew and their wild sharky pals very soon!

The only way to see great whites up close Simply an outstanding experience. I was on a 5-night expedition. The food prepared by Kelly the chef was tasty & plentiful as were the cakes and snacks available throughout the day - nobody would go hungry! The equipment was good quality and the whole diving prep area and post-dive changing area worked really well. Everyone had their own ‘box’ so easy to separate things. We saw lots of sharks and got tons of photos/videos. Also swam with the sea lions twice. The main feature of this trip was the crew though. What a nice bunch of people. No egos, just natural nice people who wanted to (and did!) help as much as they possibly could to give everyone a good time and make sure they were ok. Maddie, our trip leader, was always full of positive energy and enthusiasm and was well-supported by Kris, Dave, Woody and Ash. Tim the captain just got on with his job which he clearly knows very well. A real happy family feel that made it such an enjoyable experience.

11/10 - tick off a bucket list item Absolutely amazing experience, ticked off a bucket list item! The crew were excellent, food was great, the sharks were fabulous.
I'm a diver so went down with the bottom cage, but if you arent a certified diver you can see the sharks in the surface cage or from the top deck. We also swam with seals on the last day, so amazing. 11/10

My Great White experience. What an amazing time on the boat, 2 nights, 3 days, amazing crew that were there to help, everyone was upbeat, fantastic food, hot showers, nice sleeping areas, fantastic people from different walks of life, and the Sharks were hovering around all day, 5 Great White Sharks close up at the bottom, what a blast, graceful creatures, I will be surely be doing this again, Thanks to all the Fox Crew.

Incredible Experience Just returned from a 3 night live aboard trip on the MV Rodney Fox. Absolutely amazing experience to see these beautiful animals in their natural environment. We were blessed with several days of great weather and one incredible day of clear waters and an abundance of sharks which visited us through out the day. Both the surface and bottom cages had numerous encounters with white sharks with a number of surface interactions which were spectacular!
The crew were brilliant! The boat is comfortable and there was no shortage of great food and snacks with plenty of drink options.
Cannot recommend this enough!

Underwater Photography Perpective on these trips On my way back from my 15th great white shark trip (it's addictive ) and I wanted to share my thoughts from an underwater photography perspective.

I have personally done many "big animal" trips to photograph sharks, whales, crocodiles, giant salamanders and giant cuttlefish around the world - but for me the great white trips in South Australia are the best and nobody does them as good as Rodney Fox Shark Expeditions!

The boat and crew are great and the ocean floor cage is simply unique as it gets you as close to these magnificent creatures as possible. You really do get to see and photograph the sharks in as close to the natural habitat as it is safe to do so.

If you are taking photographs the crew do everything they can to help you get the images you cam for.

Highly recommended!

Trip of a lifetime Wow wow wow. Words cannot say how blown away I was with this charter. I just finished the 6day/5night trip in Jan23. We had over 11 sharks throughout the trip all of which observed from the amazing bottom cage which is unique to Rodney Fox Expeditions.

From a photographers perspective, everything was too easy. I travelled from Perth to SA with a mirrorless R5 setup, including strobes and video lights. Pre-organised transport to and from the airport and vessel made life easy being a solo traveller with multiple bags. On board the vessel there were designated areas for equipment assembly/rinsing/ storage, ample charging options, not to mention a comfortable galley to view and share images from the amazing dives.

On board they have everything you need to dive. Water temp was 19deg, I managed to last the trip in an open cell 2 piece 3mm, but they have 7mm wetsuits, booties and gloves ready to hire. I chose to rent their regs to save on travel weight which worked seamlessly.

Inside both the surface and bottom cage allowed for multiple options and gaps to shoot from, the experienced crew on our trip knew exactly how to get us in the spot to get the shots we were after, and were always on the lookout for incoming sharks and alerting us when nearby.

We were lucky enough with weather to travel to South Neptune twice in one trip which was by far the best option for visibility and sharks on the bottom.

As a marine scientist I cannot recommend the bottom cage highly enough - being able to view these majestic animals in their natural environment was calming sounds strange to say that, but I have a huge respect for these animals and seeing them cruising around and interacting with each other was an unforgettable experience. On one bottom cage we saw six whites, ranging from 1.5m to 4m. You get to see their battle scars up close, look them directly in the eye from the safety of your cage and witness their different mannerisms.

With weather changing consistently, the skipper Bill had our best interests at heart, even travelling back to South Neptune as conditions were more favourable for interactions, striving to find the best sharks and visibility for our encounters.

Bucket list, trip of a lifetime, thrill seeking and more call it what you want but you won't be disappointed!

Note: these are wild animals and they do migrate around the world far and wide, so we were incredibly lucky to see so many on our trip!

The best experience you'll ever have My husband and I went on the New Years’ Rodney Fox RV five-night shark expedition, and it was life-changingly EPIC. We cannot thank skipper Brad and the crew enough - they were next level amazing and as for the trip well, I have no words! It was magnificent. Diving with the great whites has been a dream of mine since I was a kid - I only got my scuba cert a month or so before so I could especially do the ocean floor cage dive, and now I've lived my dream I don't know what else I can do that will top that. Seeing so many huge, majestic, glorious great whites from the top deck, in the surface cage and in the ocean floor cage was just breath-taking and incredibly spectacular! We cannot thank the Rodney Fox crew enough for making the trip such a treasured and cherished experience. It is a MUST-DO in everyone’s lifetime.

Photography Tour Went on a photography trip run by professional photographers in conjunction with Rodney fox expedition. I absolutely loved the trip, amazing experience, the boat, the crew, the chef were all amazing, the sharks were next level. The two photographers running the so called photography side did a 20 min slide show, and a slide show of their pics they took. I have been doing photography since year 10 in high school and I learnt more back in high school, then on this trip. I felt the photographers were there for themselves and didn't care about there students or the outcome of what they learnt. The final thing for me was when one of the photographers was bitching to me about how much burley was in the water, I also later heard the other photographer talking disrespectful about one of the crew. I guess some people just always look at the negative. Just to put this into perspective this is the first negative review I have ever done in over 15+ reviews. I prefer to look at the positives in which I listed at the start of this review.

Sharks! Great White Sharks! ???? Excellent trip! From the booking process, thru comms, to the crew and the trip itself, this bucket list experience is worth every cent.

The diving is excellent! We saw multiple great whites on ALL of our dives, some very up-close. Hire gear is good but the water is cold so a thermal layer under your wetsuit is recommended.

Pack your GoPro - there'll be plenty of action. Also, take plenty of sunscreen, a widebrim hat and medication for seasickness (even if you're not prone to it).

The accommodations and food are basic but you're not out there for that, right?

You aren't going to be doing this every week, so pony up the cash, see the sharks and enjoy an experience that you and your family/friends won't soon forget.

Rodney Fox all the way! Just returned from a 3night expedition. Exceeded all our expectations and some.
No shortage of sharks, we did the surface cage as we are not scuba qualified. There was no pressure or time limits with the cage - all at your own pace. Viewing the sharks from the top deck was also worth it. Amazing experience, which has given us a new respect for the Great White Shark.
We also stopped at Thistle Island to see the Yellow Footed Rock Wallabies, and had a swim with the Australian Fur Seals at Hopkin Islands which was pretty neat.
Highly recommend the Rodney Fox Expeditions for a unique way to see Great Whites. The operation is very professional with a fun, happy crew. Rooms were better than expected, food was awesome thanks to Kate the Chef who dominated in the galley. Never went hungry. Weather was unseasonably cold weather for summer, but all gear supplied kept us comfortable in the water.
Massive thanks to Bill the skipper, and Maddie, Shep, and Brodie the Dive Crew who went above and beyond in making sure everyone was safe, and had a good time. Ten out of ten from us. Vicki & Chippy

White Shark Cage Diving Just returned from a 3 night trip. I
recommend this trip enough!!! This was the most amazing experience. We had 8 sharks regularly around both the surface cage and bottom cage.
While I am talking about the bottom cage, this would have to be THE most amazing thing I have ever done. While a little daunting at first, the professionalism of the crew and their confidence and understanding make it even better. To have one of these amazingly beautiful animals circle the dangling cage is breathtaking, humbling and exhilarating. Sounds exhausting doesn't it?
Then, there was the dive and snorkel with the endangered Australian Sealions. All in all, a great trip that i will definitely be doing again.
Now last but certainly not least I have to give a shout out to the wonderful crew. This team looked after us very well and are an absolute credit to Rodney and Andrew.

Live aboard is the way to go! We had an an amazing 3nights aboard the Rodney Fox. The sharks put on a great show for us, happy to say hello! You could spend as long as you wanted in the cage, and the rest of the time spotting the magnificent creatures from above.

The boat was very comfortable, the staff were awesome & very patient, & the food, well, we all wanted to kidnap Karen the cook it was that good! Normally I lose weight on holidays but not this trip . The sea lion swim was fabulous! Seeing these guys up close was a thrill, a definite must do.

The only negative about the trip was returning home. Living aboard for a few days is definitely the way to go, it’s relaxed & you wake to beautiful scenery every day. If you’re going to travel all the way to put a tick on that bucket list, do more than a quick day trip, it’s well worth it.

I did a 5 night trip hosted by Andrew Fox 18th-23rd Oct. This was my 4th trip & yet again was absolutely amazing!! I only go in the surface cage which is a great place to watch the sharks in action. I know the other divers all loved the bottom cage as well. We saw 7 different great white sharks over the trip...as well as humpbacked whales, dolphins & sea lions.
Karen the cook was ridiculously good & the food was always plentiful & a great choice. The rest of the crew led by Maddie were also a brilliant bunch who helped make the trip the success it was. Having Andrew on board makes it especially good as he has lots of stories & information to give you about Great Whites, Rodney Fox & everything they do & stand for.
If you want to see great whites, then I would recommend doing one of these trips...you will not regret it!

Went diving with great whites and had a great time. The water was freezing in early October, and the sea’s were rough @ 3-5 foot swells @ times. The staff were awesome and so were my fellow divers! Definitely will go again!

My friend and I went on their 3 day Shark Expedition into the Neptune Islands. It was hands down the best experience, we saw 6 different sharks over the 3 days. The crew were fantastic, friendly and made it their mission to help where they could. The food was delicious and you never went hungry thanks to the wonderful Karen, Tony was constantly encouraging filming and helping with photography questions. Cage captains Maddi, Kris and Gina were confident and encouraged everyone to see the beauty in the sharks, they showed their passion for the animals around the islands and answered questions thrown at them. The sea lion swim rounded the trip off beautifully. Could not recommend a higher crew to get you there safely and give you the best time! Thank you also to Skipper Guy for getting us there and back safely. ????❤️

We had a absolutely fantastic trip with Rodney Fox Shark Expeditions just now in late September. The staff were amazing throughout preparing food, prepping divers for both the surface and bottom cages and being available for questions and help. They really did work tirelessly for us and we were rewarded with at least 7 different white sharks with multiple sightings over our 3 night trip. Cannot recommend highly enough, for us it was a trip of a lifetime!

"UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCES" I did a 3 night trip, the crew were beyond incredible, all top draw with experience. They all looked after everybody on the boat in every way and i always felt totally safe.
I highly recommend Rodney Fox Shark Expeditions to experience the sharks and the incredible wildlife that surrounds us, live on board has the advantage of being able to experience other wildlife activities also, and the quiz night is a load of fun and a great way to learn more and test your knowledge on sharks. Being in the water and seeing my favorite animal in the world swimming so gracefully, and cautiously around us with an abundance of curiosity was an absolute delight and has inspired me personally to get into a scuba diving course asap! Everybody is catered for in every way,including transportation to and from the airport via the shark shuttle with debbie and ian and getting me to and from my motel and the boat. Bring sea sickness pills although if your anything like me and forget!, they have them at the ready on the boat. Cant express how impressed and grateful i am to the crew, I will always tour with Rodney Fox Shark Expeditiions, their knowledge,research and decades of experience are second to none and their true respect and love for the majestic sharks and the wildlife makes their tours not only an experience that will leave you with incrediable memorys but the time and chance to learn about these great animals and their habitat and develop perhaps a new passion! I have loved sharks since childhood and this tour has been a lifelong dream realised to see a real gw in the wild in the water with me! This is my first tour but will most certainly not be my last!

Awesome experience I did a five day tour with my daughter and loved it, despite not seeing a shark. The skipper, ‘Bill’ ran an excellent crew who worked tirelessly to combat weather challenges to make the trip safe, exciting and enjoyable. Karen provided spectacular freshly cooked meals and snacks. The crew supported advanced and amateur divers with ease. I was able to fully relax and smile!!
