This was a really great way to see more of Mooloolaba and learn about aspects of the indigenous and more recent local history. Our hosts, Simon and Jenna, were gracious and welcoming. Simon's commentary was insightful. Jenna brought us delicious drinks and food with First-Nations inspired influences. It was very relaxing and great value for money. We highly recommend this tour, and want to do it again when we come back (next time, the sunset cruise with the live music)!

The food was super fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared. I especially loved that each course came with a story explaining its origins, cultural significance, and sustainable sourcing in different seasons. It added so much depth to the dining experience and really showcased the connection between food, people, and the environment.

Saltwater Eco Tours in the Sunshine Coast was such a great experience. Super informative and really eye-opening learning about the local Aboriginal culture and history.
Simon the Captain was awesome - he even played the didgeridoo on the Cultural Bushtucker Cruise and shared some really cool tips on how to find and use natural food sources sustainably. The canapés were amazing too! And the native cocktails were soooooo good!!! They also sell so many yummy native food products in their store at The Wharf, Mooloolaba.
Definitely recommend if you want something relaxed, meaningful, and genuinely memorable in Mooloolaba.

What a vibe! Went on the sunset cruise with live music, a big shout out to captain Daniel and the crew! Had so much fun, absolutely love the complimentary drink to kick us off the cruise. The musician Ria Richie was so good and set such a good tone for the whole trip. It was so calming and peaceful to enjoy the gorgeous views around us, we were all up dancing by the end of it. Definitely coming back next time when I’m in Sunshine Coast!! Highly recommend for people to come here with their partner and their loved ones!

I did the sunset cruise with live music through Saltwater Eco Tours and honestly didn’t expect it to be this good.
It is such a relaxed way to see Mooloolaba. The boat has a really nice feel to it, not crowded or overly touristy, and cruising through the canals at sunset was genuinely beautiful. The colours over the water were amazing.
The live music really made the experience. It was good acoustic music that fit the setting perfectly without being too loud, so you could still talk, have a drink, and enjoy the atmosphere.
The crew were friendly and easygoing which made it feel more like a local experience rather than a typical tour. You can tell they care about what they do.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a sunset cruise in Mooloolaba, especially if you want something laid back with live music instead of a party style cruise. It would be great for couples or even just a chilled afternoon with friends.
Definitely one of the better things to do on the Sunshine Coast.

Our day out with Captain Simon and his exceptional crew was easily the highlight of our trip to the Sunshine Coast. From the moment we stepped onto the dock, we were met with such a warm, genuine welcome that we knew we were in for a treat.
The boat itself is absolutely stunning meticulously maintained, spacious, and the perfect vessel for a day on the water. It wasn’t just a boat ride, though; it was a full scale experience. The crew went above and beyond to provide top tier hospitality and entertainment, and their passion for what they do really shines through. We actually walked away having learned a lot about the local area, which was a fantastic and unexpected bonus!
I also have to give a special shout out to the bar program. My absolute favorite part of the trip was the native botanical infused cocktails. They were unique, refreshing, and used local ingredients that perfectly captured the spirit of the coast. It’s those small, thoughtful details that set this experience apart from your standard boat tour.
If you are visiting the Sunny Coast, do yourself a favor and book a spot with this team. You’ll get great vibes, friendly faces, and memories that last a lifetime. A massive thank you to the whole crew!

Genuinely would rate this lovely local-owned company as high as I could if possible!! We did the two hour sunset cruise tonight and the owner Jenna was the kindest, most-thoughtful person! She catered to my dietary requirements (DF + GF +pregnant!!!) which I always normally struggle with. The staff on board, Rosie and Daniel, were so cheerful and uplifted the whole boat and the live music by Ella was simply phenomenal. Yummy cocktails and nonalcoholic options. Everything was such a reasonable price. Could go on and on but this is seriously a must-do!! Thank you team x

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of our first date on a Brisbane river cruise, my wife and I booked a Two Hour Sunset Cruise with Live Music, around the Mooloolaba canals, through Saltwater Eco Tours. We could not have been happier with the experience. Captain Daniel, Hostess Gabby and Musician Aaron were friendly, welcoming, and good humoured. The scenery was interesting and beautiful, the open air ride very cruisy, the music appropriate and atmospheric. After the complimentary welcoming drink, we accompanied the beautifully-assembled and quite substantial complimentary grazing box at the cruise's halfway mark with a cocktail from the bar. We highly recommend the Drunken Sailor and Lemon Myrtle G&T. Overall, the cruise was awesome value for money, and exactly the romantic cruising experience we were after for our anniversary.

Absolutely unforgettable experience. This coastal cruise genuinely sets itself apart from every other tour we’ve done. From start to finish, it felt thoughtful, authentic, and deeply respectful of the area and its history.
The staff are exceptionally knowledgeable and clearly passionate about what they do. What really stood out was the genuine care they show, not just for giving guests an amazing experience, but for preserving and sharing the importance of the land and its Indigenous culture. The stories, insights, and context they provided added so much depth and meaning to the journey and made it feel truly special rather than just a sightseeing trip.
The food and drinks were another highlight, beautifully prepared, fresh, and surprisingly impressive for a cruise. Everything felt well considered and elevated the whole experience even further.
We’ve honestly never experienced anything quite like this. It was immersive, educational, relaxing, and inspiring all at once. If you’re looking for something unique that goes beyond the usual coastal tour and leaves you with a real appreciation for the place and its significance, this is an absolute must do. Highly recommended.

We had the most amazing time on the Bushtucker Cultural Tour. The crew treated us like family. The food was outstanding, particularly the oysters. Cocktails were very tasty. I recommend the margaritas. The aboriginal cultural education was very interesting and we were delighted when Captain Simon played the didgeridoo. My partner and I will definitely book this experience again.

When weighing up the prices against the other cruises they were not the cheapest but you have to consider the extras eg
* completely free drink
* free grazing box
* live music ( this really made the experience special )
* 2 hour cruise time
* reasonable drinks prices
Very happy we will book again next year

We had a great time on the Bushtucker Cruise. The crew were friendly and very knowledgeable, sharing easy-to-follow stories about the local waterways and First Nations culture throughout the cruise.
The boat was beautiful, the views were relaxing, and the native-inspired food and drinks were delicious, a really nice addition to the experience. Overall, it felt like a well-balanced mix of learning, eating amazing food, scenery and just enjoying time on the water. Definitely something we’d recommend.

I was in Foodie HEAVEN( So much that I forgot to take photos of quite a few of the DELICIOUS Canapes)
I loved hearing the stories of the trees, sea animals,local area that only an Indigenous person would know. The didgeridoo closure was a Blessing.
I had great respect for such the young, intelligent Indigenous man having a love for historical,vintage, quality made boats to the point of renovating one himself.
I bought a jar of the Lemon Myrtle Coconut Sauce from their shop to have with Fresh prawns I bought from the Mooloolaba Seafood markets
The sauce was To Die For !
Well done to the team 🙂🙏
You should all stand Proud of such quality products and Tourism Service

If only there were more stars! The highlight of our holiday. Love the people-Simon and Josie skippering this unique boat. Simon's commentary was softly delivered with love and deep affection for his country. Jose's delectable canapes were world class, best food I've eaten all holiday. Carefully prepared using native plants and fruits. And of course, local seafood. Wait til you taste her Bunya nut hommus!

The drink selection was fantastic as well, and the cocktails were outstanding — I’m not usually a cocktail person, and I was genuinely impressed. It’s a very enjoyable and relaxing experience cruising down the Mooloolaba canals.
Be prepared to go barefoot (although the crew were very flexible if you’re wearing appropriate footwear), then just sit back and relax — the background music was great too.
The grazing bites provided won’t replace lunch in most cases, but the wharf has plenty of restaurants to choose from right after the cruise.
Huge thanks to everyone involved — we’ll definitely be doing this cruise again.

Hello! Firstly, thank you for joining us (and to whoever gifted you the experience- good friends indeed!).
We’re sorry the seating wasn’t as comfortable as you’d hoped. Our beautiful heritage-listed vessel isn’t the easiest to furnish or suit everyone, but we’ve done our best to preserve her character while turning her into a unique and memorable tourism venture.
Our two-hour cruise is designed to move at a relaxed pace...a chance to slow down, enjoy live local music and soak in Mooloolaba’s stunning waterways. That said, we totally understand that not everyone finds our “leisurely pace” quite as relaxing when the cheese cubes are small and the bubbles aren’t French enough! Some guests even ask for a longer trip, so it’s clear we can’t please everyone -but we do our best to create a local experience with heart.
We agree that the photo isn’t a great or true reflection of the grazing boxes we usually serve - we’ve already had an internal chat with our lovely team and will be doing another little upskill session for improved consistency. And yes, we admit... that dip cup was an espresso cup! We ran out of our regular size over the weekend and had to improvise when our supplier was closed. Our apologies - it does look a bit funny!
We’re proud that our tickets include both a grazing box and a drink (quite a rarity these days) as our way of sharing a little local flavour and hospitality.
We really appreciate your feedback; it helps us keep improving while staying true to what makes Saltwater special.
Wishing you many more adventures ahead - ideally with perfect seats and plenty of cheese.

- you'll hear from Simon about the history of this area, how try to imagine how this beautiful part of the world, land, sea, sky might have been before colonisation
- you'll get to taste delicious foods, carefully prepared and beautifully presented, using local bush tucker ingredients
- you will support a young family who are living their dream and sharing it with us
- an added bonus, support other First Nations businesses
Thank you so much to you all of the team at Eco-Cruises, from your beautiful shop front, gorgeously restored sailing/motor boat, scrumptious food and warm welcome was a total pleasure for me to experience.
