SAFE IS OUR PRIORITY! Our Guides are trained to read the conditons of the sand, landscape, weather and rider confidence. This WILL HAVE AN IMPACT on the speeds that we allow clients to travel. PLEASE be patient with our Guides as they attempt to Cater to all riding conditions and capabilities e.g. there is likely to be a NOVICE Group and an EXPERIENCED one.

Live the adventure that promises you a Quad Riding experience like no other with Sand Dune Adventures. Experience the magnificence of the Worimi Sand Dunes on Stockton Beach, riding safely from bush to beach with our expert guides. Our 1 hour quad bike ride takes in the wonders of the highest sand dunes in the southern hemisphere, the glorious views of the sweeping coastline and learn about history of the land.
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY
We provide 1 Guide per 5 people so most groups have two guides, one out the front leading you around and one as a tail end to make sure no one gets left behind. You leave our staging area and ride over our maintained tracks through coastal grassland and scrub to get to the dunes. The guide will then take you over more and more challenging sand dunes, up and down. The large sand dunes can be from 40-100 feet high.
All of the Sand Dune Adventures Quad Bike tours are tailored to meet the needs and experience of the customers. So if it is flat out or cruising we have the adventure for you. No licence is required. We are the only tour company that has access to the highest sand dunes on Stockton Beach.
All quad bike tours are conducted in a tag-a-long (single file) format, with each rider instructed to leave a safe distance (5-10m) between themselves and the bike in front. Clients
are instructed to stay in the riding line (tracks) of the person in front of them and not to veer off on their own track or ride erratically (no overtaking and no side by side riding).
Clear and simple hand signals are demonstrated and provided by the lead guide. Clients are provided with a riding helmet and hi-Vis safety vest.
Open every day except Xmas & New Year’s Day
You must acknowledge that if during the quad bike ride session I continue to ride unsafely and/or I ignore the Tour Guide’s directives after being warned once, then on the following breach, my riding group and I will be guided immediate back to the carpark where my ride session will be immediately terminated with no refund.
If you wear a head piece (Turban or Scarf) this may have to be adjusted or taken off as if is compulsory to wear a helmet on our quad bike tours for safety.
For the safety of mother & child we unfortunately don’t take pregnant women on our quad bike tours

I went with my husband and our three boys. I was a little nervous at first because two of our boys had to be doubled with me and my husband due to their age. They weren’t too keen on the idea—worried they wouldn’t get the full experience—but those worries disappeared pretty quickly. They ended up having the best time! Out of everything we did on our little trip away, this was their absolute favourite.
Big shoutout to our guide Rachael—she was so cool, chill, and genuine. You could tell she just wanted us to have the best experience possible, and we absolutely did.
We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend for families and anyone who enjoys a bit of adventure!
If you’re looking for an epic outdoor adventure, look no further than the sand dunes in Port Stephens! My mates and I booked an hour-long quad biking experience with Quad Bike King, and from start to finish, it was absolutely phenomenal.
The hospitality from the team was top-notch—friendly, professional, and super welcoming. They made sure we were comfortable, gave us a solid briefing, and got us hyped for the ride ahead.
Once we hit the dunes, it was pure adrenaline! The vast, golden landscapes were breathtaking, and the thrill of riding over the towering dunes was something else. The bikes were powerful, easy to handle, and made the entire experience even more exhilarating.
An hour flew by way too fast because we were having the time of our lives. Whether you’re a first-timer or an experienced rider, Quad Bike King ensures an unforgettable experience. We’ll definitely be back for another ride!
Highly recommend!

So glad we did it!!

Paying respects to all those who once stood where the dunes are
Drinking fresh water from under the sand tasted absolutely lovely.
Highly recommend how deadly this experience was and cannot wait to go Back
Could not thank the worimi mob enough

This trip to Australia is our first holiday in more than 10 years, and quadbiking was one of our most look-forward-to highlights. We ended up leaving Port Stephens with our children feeling disheartened by how poorly we were treated.
We purchased the tour for 2:30pm and received the notifications that we needed to arrive half an hour before.
However, perhaps due to the weather conditions at the sand dunes from the previous activities, our younger son did not feel well and had 2 episodes of stomach upsets from vomiting and diarrhoea which held us up a little.
We tried to get there on time, but only managed to reach the meeting venue around 2:25pm. The front desk staff despite noticing our presence and loss upon entering the venue, ignored us until we approached for help.
Our polite enquiries to see if there are anything else we could have done like catching up to the rest of the group ourselves were all cut off and returned with hostility and rudeness.
The office staff showed clear reluctance to help and we could not even answer our children when asked why we were given looks of disdain by the staff.
We were neither rude nor unreasonable, and we did not even request for any refunds as we are aware that we are not entitled to any refunds for any reason.
How we were treated is completely unjustified and there is absolutely no reason for us to be receiving this kind of service when our tour is still being fully paid for.
We do not expect understanding for the hiccups that we faced. However, a display of kindness and respect from SDA could definitely have left us feeling better for missing our tour.

It was so simple with check in & meeting them at the location to hop straight on the quad bikes.
I would highly recommend this company for a great experience.

Fantastic integration of local Worimi people’s culture tour as part of the adventure.

I wish their promotional material sold this experience more. The landscape is so epic. I have been to Stockton Dunes before but if I knew nothing about it, I’d probably be more hesitant to commit.

I will definitely be back again and will bring my whole family. The cultural component is a must for everyone who wants to embrace kinship and connection. Thank you for an unforgettable journey!

We did the 1 hour tour and will definitely be going back and doing it again!

Thanks so much for a fun little adventure! ????????

Thanks to the team for their dedication, care and hospitality.

Takes about 2.5hr drive from Sydney, easy day trip. Would highly recommend!!

I’ll be back in a few weeks with my 16 year old son.

Customer service was nice.
Friendly and very helpful guides.
Day enjoyed very well.????????
Will see you again.

To begin, when asked to choose between a "fast" or "medium" group, I eagerly opted for the "fast" option. However, shortly after starting the activity, I was redirected to another group without any prior notification. This sudden change left me confused and frustrated, particularly because the new group was considerably slower and had a shorter course. I inquired with the group leader if this was the "fast group" I had initially selected, to which he responded dismissively, "Oh no, you've been placed in this one for some reason." Later on, at one of the stops, one of the leaders allowed me to move towards the back of the "fast group," but I still had to continuously brake and come to a stop to avoid colliding with the riders ahead.
At the lookout point, I politely requested to be allowed at the front, as the situation had become increasingly absurd. However, the leader laughed in my face and callously replied, "No, you can't." Furthermore, after pointing out a whale in the distance, he condescendingly said, "It's about 300 meters out—do you know how far 300m is?" My father, who was with me during this ordeal, can attest to these incidents.
In summary, despite my repeated requests to be placed at the front, my pleas were ignored. I did not receive the experience I paid for, and I left feeling immensely frustrated.
I am not one to usually complain or leave negative reviews, but I firmly believe that this cannot be the first (and won’t be the last) instance where a young woman has been unfairly judged based on her appearance, discriminated against, and consequently deprived of the experience she paid for.
I have participated in quad biking numerous times before, and I have always been allocated a spot at the very front. Comparatively, this was one of the slowest groups I have ever been a part of. I have never encountered such a disappointing experience.
While my father, whom I brought along as a gift, had a slightly better experience than mine as he was positioned close to the front (historically, I have consistently driven significantly faster than him—I am known as the lead foot of the family), he was nonetheless appalled and affected by the situation.
I shared my experience over email with the company and waited for a response before putting up this review, however everything was denied and I was accused of "not being able to keep up" (an absolute joke). I was not provided with an apology nor a refund. Total waste of money and total disappointment

Follow the queue and other people

From check in to check out the guides where amazing
Then the quad ride out on the dunes “wow” totally worth while definitely recommend for the whole family
In this day and age it’s definitely value for money

Thank you SDA!
The instructors are very nice and cater to different experience customers.
Their office is in Murook Cultural Centre to handle payment/paperworks. Then, follow an easy instruction for a short 4 min drive to the site.
Just the initial track to the sand dune area is fun.
The quad bike is easy to control and comfortable.
Great fun!!!

The staff is amazing and the whole trip is indescribable! I have done it multiple times and all my experiences have been Amazing!

Great fun and a very enjoyable ride through the dunes. The staff were also great in helping everyone enjoy the experience.
