Hi Debbie. Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the food at Ruby Vietnamese Restaurant. Ensuring our guests are well-fed is always a top priority, so it is unusual for us to hear that the portions felt light. Because your requested dietary preferences were quite unique, our team personally placed a custom order featuring a much wider variety of dishes than usual to ensure you had a fantastic experience. While several of these classic dishes were vegetarian, we regret that they were not entirely to your taste. We always aim to showcase the best flavours of the Top End, and we appreciate your thoughts on how we can refine our tailored menus in the future. We hope your partner thoroughly enjoyed their meal as well and it regrettable that you did not make mention of their thoughts about the tour and the food. Regarding our second dining stop, we are sorry to hear that the dishes did not meet your expectations. Our signature fresh, line-caught whole snapper and the caramelised banana dessert with native wattle seed are cooked in a high-temperature charcoal oven and remain guest favourites. While these dishes consistently receive high praise, we appreciate that culinary tastes vary. A full tour experience encompasses so much, from the delicious food to the local sights, rich history, and vibrant street art shared along the walk. And although you made no mention of these important aspects, we hope you enjoyed exploring the city with your guide, and we appreciate you taking the time to help us continually improve our service.

The food at the Vietnamese restaurant and Australian restaurant was delicious *Thank you, we're so glad you found the food to be delicious. however, expected to have some local food. *We're surprised you said this. Here's all the produce that was sourced in the Northern Territory and featured on your tour: wild betel leaf grilled eggplant kai lan vegetable banana flower wild caught red band snapper green papaya banana crocodile watermelon kang kung water spinach These ingredients native to Australia were sourced from interstate: wattleseed caramel macadamia The tour was very overpriced for what we got. A good spread of food at both restaurants however, it did not match the amount we paid. *Thank you, we appreciate that you liked our spread--we always feature at least 12 different dishes for you to try. And we get that our price point is not for everybody. We would have expected a whole fish between two of us (and even then it was way overpriced) instead of between 7 people. *Because the fish costs $90 dollars, we've chosen not to share it between two guests, but rather to give everyone a sample, so we can budget for the many other dishes we curate. The 3 hours was ok although the street art only covered a small area *Agreed, we cover only a small area of street art on this tour. There are hundreds of great street art pieces throughout the city. For a 3-hour tour, we're able to feature only a few. and the app to appreciate the art was not available to us and then only limited to the tour guide so we didnt get to appreciate it as it should be. *We're sorry that the missing app impacted your tour. It's only recently become unavailable. We have lobbied those responsible to bring it back.

Thank you for your review, I'm so glad you enjoyed the tour. You're right, it can be tricky ordering just the right amount of food for any given group. We certainly never under-feed our guests! And whenever there are leftovers, we take most of them home to snack on later. But over the years I've realised that different guests can have different views on the same tour. For example, you mentioned an American couple on your tour. Did you notice that the man enthusiastically ate everything we placed in front of him, while others on the tour ate far less? And in terms of the group, at the end, did you notice that everyone polished off their desserts? Seems they all had room.

We're so glad you enjoyed parts of the tour and that you had lots to eat. It's unfortunate that you were under the impression that we'd take you to 'quite a few restaurants' when all of our information clearly states that we visit three restaurants. We do try to have chefs and other staff make presentations but as you may know, when kitchens are very busy this is not possible.
