Brother and sister led the way with a very informative and interactive tour.
Lived here all my life and always enjoy learning more about traditional aboriginal culture and heritage.
They are the true caretakers of this wonderful country

Thank you again.
Kind regards
Simon & Helen

The crew needs to figure out a way to sort out the table arrangements in an effective way.
You can’t just let people come in and sit anywhere if you have a plan in advance.
Everything else is fine!
I shall pay my respect to the respective land owners of Australia, the aboriginals and Torres Islanders in this review.
Thanks to the crew and aboriginal people for a great service on the vessel

Could there be more of a commentary during the cruise.

The cruise to Me Mel (Goat Island) was cool. The sights along the way were breathtaking. When we reached the island we were treated to a beautiful traditional dance performance and learned more history. This is a must-do when you’re in Sydney.

The boat trip has periodic commentary such as - 'this is lady macquarie chair - she used to sit there'.
Appreciate on the island that they were letting the youngster get some experience, but they were totally out of their depth with the large number of people.
Would have learnt more about the harbour on a captain cook cruise. Did get a very nice photo of Barangaroo.

Highly recommend booking a tour with Tribal Warrior!
Only point for possible improvement would be the coffee.

In our case, the 'cultural experience' was given by four children: three girls (oldest was 13-16), and a young boy. There were no adults, other than for administrative roles.
The children were well-meaning, but clearly out of their depth.
They danced, and walked us to the end of Goat island and back.
The dancing was to recorded music (no live singing, no digeridoo), and given with no explanation (only the titles of the dances), or cultural background.
The walk-around offered very little information, but did include some significant claims that were simply not credible - this was later confirmed via with a brief review of several internet sources.
My brother most strongly recommended this experience to me. He came along, and was saddened that the quality had fallen so far, and embarrassed to have had recommended it so me.
Indeed, the experience he described, which was driven by some adults who clearly cared for their cultural heritage, did sound fantastic. However, I believe the people my brother saw no longer work for Tribal Warrior.
Out of the adults who still work for Tribal Warrior, I felt like they just couldn't be arsed to have gotten out of bed that morning - they left it to the kids. I felt disrespected that so much of my money was taken from me, with so little effort given in return.
I believe the better reviews here are either for the evening cruises, or for the daytime experience provided by well-informed adults who cared about their heritage.
I recommend that before you hand over your money, take this into consideration.

The beginning was a little worrying, no one to gather our disparate groups and keep us connected to what was happening..the boat was late we were all a little nervous given the strict boarding instructions
But once we were onboard and underway - a different story altogether. We had the best night, great company in the form of other guests and the staff we danced, sang Karaoke, ate more food then we could imagine and it was delicious. The beer and wine flowed our price was all inclusive so it was good to see the abundance off inclusions.
Shout out to the captain, who did a fantastic job, in a very busy Sydney Harbour. We had the BEST viewing spot for the fireworks
The surprise of the night So many of the crew could sing amazingly well.
The pre cruise staff were equally as friendly and customer focussed, going out of their way to get things right. Thank you to you Amanda
We even met Shane , the CEO whose story with the company was interesting 22years..I think
This is not a black tie event, this is a party for young and old.
Tips
Wear flat shoes..I didn’t my feet hurt from the dancing
Don’t eat anything before the cruise so you can truly enjoy all the food
Prepare to sing karaoke
Be social make some new friends
I would love to have said this was a bad cruise to keep it all to myself and my friends but it would do the team a disservice. It was a great experience from beginning to end .

Food : 9 /10 = delicious, fresh, plenty of it, hubby was able to go for thirds … only lost a point because the ribs were so good and people wanted more haha
Entertainment : 8/10 = the Olivia Newton John, Dusty Springfield and Karen Carpenter acts were fantastic! And then the girls combined at the end and sang some epic dance tunes which had us all up dancing !
Ambiance : 8/10 = laid back and cruisey… clean, comfortable and wholesome, especially the top floor was super relaxing with the cane lounges to share some wines and take in the view from.
Ease of working with : 12/10 nothing was too much trouble - ever and to top it all off, booking your cruise through Tribal Warrior helps create fundamental programs for indigenous youths.
Extras - the staff, far out just when you think the entertainment is finished all the staff seem to have a set of pipes as well and dazzle us throughout the afternoon
Loved it !!

A display of native tools and weaponry and an explanation of Flora on the Island gave us insights into what local living conditions would have been like.
The interaction with our hosts was always interesting and fun to listen to before we all (including the dancers and musicians ) returned on their Boat. Our hosts also joined us for a delicious lunch on board as we motored back to Circular Quay via the scenic route taking in Barangaroo, Spectacle Island and Cockatoo Island!
Highly recommended for a "Real Life First Nation" experience!

On arrival to the Island we received a Ochre and smoke ceremony, we were given a Dance ceremony, Cultural songs and more dance.
History Tour around Island explaining the fauna and Flora , weapons demo, and their uses. Lunch was a fantastic buffet of variety dishes, salads a hot soup, fruits, Coffee. etc
Best Valued Lunch Tour I have been on!!!
Enjoyed this Tour and its People immensely!
I ACKNOWLEDGE the First Nations People past, present and future, AND Thank them for allowing us on and sharing Me Mel Island !

This tour only touched the surface of aboriginal culture and I will definitely be back for more events with this company - a hidden gem that needs to be publicised to the broader community! Look up their website, they do a range of activities around Sydney and Sydney harbour as well as activities for schools.
For future events, I would love to see more opportunities during the course of the day to ask questions about the culture generally, and to experience other parts of aboriginal culture too (e.g. cooking and various crafts/arts such as weaving) - I will be back for more! (but understandable it was tricky to organise given there was only a couple of weeks notice for preparation for this cruise as part of Sydney Solstice, Sydney's winter festival).
Absolutely loved it and would highly recommend it!
