Wonderful reef experience - highly recommended Josh and Cody made the trip both memorable and exciting. In fact all the staff were so friendly and helpful. We ventured out to the reef and snorkelled from the boat and a small sandy island. Josh and Cody were really attentive looking after our needs and safety. Everyone seemed to love the adventure.

Great trip The trip lived up to the high expectations. The reef looked healthier and more
colourful than I've seen off larger group tours off of Cairns. There is that
awkward bit of marching to and back to the boat when there are signs that
say beware of crocodiles. The tour gives the impression that the threat of
crocs is minimal when loading and unloading passengers into the water but just fyi.

Snorkel Great Barrier Reef Amazing! Josh and Kody were awesome guides and had such a great energy for our group. Snorkelling was great and the boat ride was the perfect distance for our kids. My partner and son had turtles swim right up to them and others saw an octopus too. I liked how we did one snorkel off the boat and another off the beach. The water was a bit cold for my daughter and I at this time of year but that was no-one’s fault! The boat ride back was brilliant - such an adventure. Thanks, Josh! 😊👍

Ocean Safari - 2 out of 2! Ocean Safari is by far one of the best reef tours we’ve ever experienced! From the unique beach launch to snorkelling in remote, pristine parts of the Great Barrier Reef, every moment felt authentic and unforgettable. The staff and crew were incredibly lovely, welcoming, and accommodating throughout the entire journey. If you’re looking for an intimate and adventurous reef experience, Ocean Safari is a must-do!

No Turtle Snorkel Tour The ocean safari was the most exciting part of our holiday. We arrived bright and early but could have turned up a good 30 mins after the scheduled time. We decided not to get wet suits and were a bit concerned when almost every one else did but for us at least it was the right decision. The water was not cold at all!

Getting on and off the boat was pretty tricky. As you have to get on a ladder while knee deep in waves with the boat rising and falling unpredictable. You certainly need a base level of mobility for this cruise!

Also note there is no point taking much with you. You won't need anything and your bag will get wet trying to get on the boat.

The boat ride was exhilarating and very bumpy. Took about 35 minutes. It was pretty windy so conditions were wild. There was a lot of spray and we got very wet but who cares we were about to snorkel. If you have neck/back problems this cruise is not for you.

The trip there was long enough that I was starting to get over being thrown around like a rag doll and splashed with salt spray. The rock music definitely helped.

Once we got to the reef we had a quick briefing and then into the water. If you have never snorkeled or are not a swimmer this would definitely be jumping in the deep end a bit. As you need to learn to snorkel while the waves are tossing you about which is a challenge. As I have snorkelled before I was ok but it wasn't super easy the waves were much stronger than the previous times I had snorkelled.

We saw lots of pretty coral, fish, giant clams, sting rays, star fish and sea slugs. No sign of a turtle any where though.

We were supposed to have a guided snorkel tour from Charley but you couldn't hear anything with the waves and wind so we mostly just snorkelled around. After a while we got back on the boat and moved to the other side of the little sand island and snorkelled again. This side was a lot calmer which made things easier. A couple of us explored a bit of a distance away then we had to come back as they couldn't see us with the incoming rain. So we could then only snorkel pretty close to the boat where there wasn't a huge amount to see but it was still pretty good.

Then we got back on board for another bumpy journey back.

Overall despite the grey, windy weather it was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the snorkeling although getting big waves dumping seawater down your snorkel is less fun. The ocean safari team did a great job although it would be great to have been able to hear more about the different creatures we were seeing so we knew what we were looking at.

My main tip would be don't bother with the wetsuits. The water isn't that cold. At least for us in June. The weather was about 22 degrees.

Phenomenal !!! We arrived at Ocean Safaris in plenty of time and had a coffee (Allpress). We were given the option of a wetsuit and are glad that we chose to get one. They are free for "seniors". Then it was a quick walk to the beach and onto a rigid inflatable for a 30-minute ride to the first snorkelling spot. We immediately saw a reef shark and soon after a turtle, and of course, we found Nemo. We then motored to another area for a slightly different view. This time I saw an eagle ray. To describe the number of fish and the colours is impossible. The ride back to the beach was a bit bumpy and a little cool. I am pleased I was still wearing the wetsuit. We had the most brilliant time. Thank you Ocean Safaris.

We loved our experience with ocean tripper, we saw a few turtles, coral, they pointed out a giant clam. We liked having a small boat experience. We saw a stingray and the guides were excellent, and they took us to the sand cay. The boat ride was a bit rocky due to the heavy rain, but we still had a blast, and the staff was very good with my 8 year old.

And after the tour, we had a delicious meal at turtle Cove their restaurant on site. An amazing experience highly recommend!

Wow! This experience was beyond imagination. Everyone working there was very friendly and knowledgeable. The instruction and safety was clear and concise. The snorkelling was superb; the right amount of time in the water and some free time on the sandy island following. The reef itself is so beautiful with the formations and colours a sample of God’s amazing creation. At one time, I saw a large sea turtle, a metre long shark and a white ray burring itself into the floor of the sea all within 20 seconds. There were many schools of fluorescent fish swimming by my face. In the two hours of snorkelling, there wasn’t a moment when I wasn’t delighted with something swimming by or a reef waving at me from a metre or two away. I could go on and on about this incredible experience: an absolute must do. Ocean Safari snorkelling is worth every penny.

An absolutely great experience! First time snorkelling, as well as my son, and their engagement with kids was exceptional. Max and Callum were absolute legends the whole time. Couldn’t have asked for better staff. Hats off to you both!

A perfect day out. Wow, my first snorkle. The two lovely gentlemen could not have been more solicitous or accommodating. McKay reef is just stunning. Even the boat load of absailors could not detract from the beauty or the reef.

Very experienced staff, professional service and awesome with kids. Brooke and Cal were awesome hosts, very accommodating and down to earth and friendly people. We have 9&12 year old kids and the staff made the day great for all of us.
We went on 3 different snorkelling trips while we were travelling the great barrier reef, this was by far the best one. Well done to the team, we certainly appreciated your work while we were onboard. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting this part of the world.

An unforgettable trip for my family! This trip and experience exceeded any expectations I had for our family. From start to finish, the staff were professional, thoughtful, kind, engaging, knowledgeable and fun. We swam with a huge turtle, multiple schools of colourful fish, massive clams, colourful coral and fish almost as big as me. The conditions were perfect and with a small group, we spent almost two hours collectively in the water exploring. Swimming and snorkeling at the cay was an additional extra that made the trip even more special Truly unforgettable and magic. Warmest thanks to Brendan, Brooke and Fabian for being superb humans and making the day so wonderful.

Incredible experience It was insanely good. You can’t get a better reef snorkeling experience I don’t think. You’re also getting a really cool tiny island beach experience which I didn’t expect!

Best Great Barrier Reef tour This tour is one of the best Great Barrier Reef Tours I ever been.
I’ve done couple of tours before, but most tours do not have much time in the water.

However this tour let you experience Great Barrier Reef as much as you want to and you absolutely feel satisfied when you finish.

I did this tour last year, and I enjoy so much that I came back this year again. This time I saw turtles, eagle rays, and para fish etc.

The wet suits were wet when we put them on and due to the wait time for boat boarding ,we became extremely cold on the boat trip out. Due to the fact we were cold the snorkeling was not that pleasant We did cover up trying to keep warm.
My suggestion would be to ensure the wet suits are dry when giving them out to your clients.

10 stars!!!! Absolutely incredible experience from start to finish. Loved every second and although I had very high expectations, it surpassed them all! Thank you to Muzz and Jordan for an unforgettable trip and your great humour, expertise and care. I was anxious about seasickness (not me but for others 😅) after doing the Reef magic trip to the pontoon on the outer reef from Cairns a few years back and thought never again!!! It was a nightmare. So I was sad to never be able to do the reef again except maybe by helicopter which we seriously considered for how bad those other boats are. Then someone recommend this fast ocean rafting trip from Cape Tribulation instead, that takes only 25 minutes and doesn’t sway like other boats because it skips over waves fast! So there wasn’t any issue whatsoever and the trip was so fun and fast with music blaring! It’s even so awesome that the boat only carries 25 people so you feel like it’s almost a private tour instead of the hundreds they take out on the bigger boats. It was so personal and everyone catered for no matter what your snorkeling or swimming skill level. Furthermore there was loads of time to snorkel - 2 hours! And they knew the exact places to take us to, to spot incredible wildlife, especially turtles. We saw turtles, small reef sharks, giant clams, every kind of fish you could think of….mind-blowing - and they pulled up to a sandy cay (tiny island), right in the middle of the Great Barrier Reef where we could sit in the sun or go back in the water and snorkel some more! This tour is so incredible and underrated compared to the big ones but infinitely better. Staying at Cape Tribulation in the Daintree rainforest where this tour takes off from, was an incredible bonus experience and absolutely worth the extra drive from Cairns!

Great experience and teen kids loved it! Nice quick fast boat! Food and drinks are on offer and overall Connor did great job showing his knowledge and guiding the group in the water to see the coral and reef shark! and was Great driver Brooke!

Disneyland under the water Thank you Cole and Brooke for a memorable trip to the reef. You are so committed to creating a perfect guest experience including keeping us safe and informed about many aspects of the reef & marine life. We loved seeing the turtles, giant clams & stingrays plus every kind of large and small fish. The access to the reef from Cape Trib of only 40 minutes and the smaller number of passengers beats the other trips I’ve taken out the the reef hands down.

These guys do it fine Hard to imagine a more special day, April 6. What a team we interacted with. From the ride out and back, pure fun. The training, tbe equipment big and small, the scuba for beginners, the snorkelling, pictures, food was great, staff so friendly and happy and wow service all over. The reef was alive and right there. Life memory day.

Cape Tribulation Ocean Safari Tour An amazing day out on the reef after only a 30 minute exhilarating boat ride on a rubber raft boat out to the reef. Cape Tribulation is the closest point to the GBR which is great for those of us who may get sea sick!
The staff were extremely helpful and kept everyone informed.
The views were stunning and the water warm. Snorkelling with sea turtles and fish, sea cucumbers, reef sharks, rays etc.
A really laid back crew who you could tell loved their jobs and who catered to all sorts of concerns and conditions. Nothing was too much trouble and safety was paramount.

Truly a company with integrity. Cole and his team made it possible for our group of four to have the adventure of a lifetime when we thought it would be canceled. Such a fun experience! The team of Scottie, Tom and Eve (Steve) were unstoppable. Despite some of the crazy weather we had they kept the day feeling so much fun and upbeat. WONDERFUL Wow, what an incredible day. This trip was recommended by two couples we met in Agnes Water, huge thanks to them as this was amazing. Excellent guides in Brooke, Steve and Lizzie who are all passionate about their work. Their enthusiasm was infectious. Great boat trip to 2 spots on the reef which was beautiful, giant clams on the ocean floor with stunning fish swimming round. We saw a shark (much smaller than I was expecting) and no less than 3 turtles which was so exciting. I spotted a barramundi cod which Steve was v happy about!!!! Also went to a sand Island which was so bizarre in the middle of the ocean. Can't recommend this more highly

A great half day adventure snorkelling on what felt like our 'own private bit of the reef'

The folks here are very energetic, easy going, safety conscious, they have a fantastic setup and look after you well!

Definitely worth a trip out with them, we even got to see a big friendly turtle!!! :)

Professional & fun - you're in good hands I'm not a very confident swimmer and pretty anxious about the ocean generally. I have only snorkeled a couple of times before but really wanted to do this bucket list activity. From the arrival at the Turtle Rock Cafe meeting point where we had a lovely breakfast and coffee ahead of the tour, kitting up in the wetsuit, heading out to reef on the boat and finally getting into the water - all the staff were friendly, approachable and very professional. I felt safe and excited. I was able to overcome any hesitation and jumped in for a thrilling and very enjoyable experience (floating with the added security of a pool noodle) to have an up close view over the reef. Highly recommended!

Disappointing The snorkelling was good enough however gear didn’t fit; the skipper was very rude to me when i mentioned this; they changed the plan, getting told we weren’t able to snorkel at a location when originally we were supposed to. Also felt rushed as this is only a half day tour. Very expensive seeing as it is a half day tour. This had been recommended to us but we were extremely disappointed

OK Would recommend bringing snacks. I’ve seen a few reefs & Broome & the Hamilton Islands had more to look at. Still - the boat ride was nice. Wished it was more educational.

We had the best morning snorkelling with Eliza and Brooke! Super friendly and happy ladies that were really knowledgeable about the reef. The coral was some of the best we have seen on the GBR and we’re so happy with the sea life we managed to see - White Spotted Eagle Ray, Epaulette Shark, Turtles, Giant Clams, Clown Fish and loads of different species of reef fish! Would definitely recommend this trip, well worth the money!

Great snorkeling! I have gone to the reef at port Douglas on a big boat and one on a smaller boat but the ocean safari at Cape Trib was more exciting and a much better reef! Staff were excellent and the boat so much fun! No one was ill and the amount of fish, turtles and great reef was awesome! I recommend this reef experience to all my friends!

I'll remember the reef tour with inflatable speed boat forever. The crew is very professional. They deal with safety accurately. If you are lucky you can encounter sharks and turtles. The reef is gorgeous both in shallow and high waters.

ALWAYS an incredible trip with Ocean Safari! This was my 4th time doing this tour and I cannot recommend it enough. I have lived in the Cairns region and worked in tourism for the last 4 years and this is my favourite day trip to the Great Barrier Reef. The staff are always so incredibly friendly and helpful. I would say that my favourite thing about this trip is the snorkelling sites the tour goes to - they are out of this world. I have always seen turtles, reef sharks and so many different species of tropical fish. I absolutely love Ocean Safari, and so will you!

Highly recommended snorkeling tour. One of the most beautiful reefs for snorkeling I visited in the GBR! Eve was very knowledgeable and learned us a lot about the reef and the boat ride was a thrilling 25min ride. Don’t forget to bring your GoPro!

The two girls who took us out to Mackay Island did a really good job.They worked well as a pair and made our trip a memorable one.I swam with a turtle ???? and viewed over a 100 different varieties of courful fish ????.The boat ???? ride was also a thrill.Thankyou very much ????

Most beautiful reef I’ve seen so far!! Lots of fish, turtles and different corals. It was a windy day and on the ocean out to the reef we had swells from up to 2 meters, but it felt totally safe! Tour group size was perfect, good quick boat ride out to the reef and our tour guides Evie & Brooke were amazing. They found us turtles, rays, a couple of sharks and of course all the colourful fish you expect too see.

Such an amazing experience. We went out for about 20min onto the reef (I think it's one of the nearest spots to the Great Barrier Reef) and went snorkelling at two locations next to a stunning sandbank. The reef was just one to two meters below us and I could see everything so close. We were unfortunate in spotting turtles, usually there are more, but we got a glimpse at several sting-rays, which was awesome!

I'm not the most confident of swimmers so I was a little apprehensive heading out on the reef, unlike my super confident Aussie husband!

I had nothing to worry about and had an absolute blast! I rocked my noodle for that extra little bit of support, and others had their life jackets whilst the water babies amongst us ventured out by themselves. There was a great focus on safety first which is great.

Cole and Eve taught us all about the reef and her residents, both on the boat and whilst in the water.

We got lots of time snorkelling and exploring the sand island of McCay reef.

Eve and Cole are clearly very passionate about both the reef and the work that they do.

Highly, highly recommended!

Col and Brooke were our guides, and their professionalism and knowledge of the reef was a credit to them. Their top priority was to help everyone on board have the best experience possible!

Ocean Safari - best close to shore GBR tour Well organised, caters for kids really well, a stunning view of the GBR. Eve was an enthusiastic and well informed host. Plenty of time on the reef and when we were 5 minutes from reaching the shore, the boat captain spotted and whale- he turned around and took the group back out to get a close up (50-70m) view. High recommend

Barrier reef - a beaut of a boat trip! Truly breathtaking. The coral was so much better from Cape tribulation than I experienced from other tours further south.
Smaller group and a much more personal touch.
We saw an abundance of healthy coral and fish on the reef and were lucky enough to see whales and their calves from the boat.
Would recommend to groups, families and anyone wanting a trip to the reef.

Ocean Safari is the place to be for a super well organised snorkeling trip. We also loved the boat ride out to the reef. Maybe the more so because the sea was quite choppy. We were lucky enough to see a turtle and many colourful fish. Very highly recommended indeed!

Fun boat ride and great snorkelling Although the rain and wind made an appearance, the ride out to the reef was good fun (being at the front!) - think fast rollercoaster ride! It only took about 30 mins to get there, so a relatively short ride compared to getting to the reef from other places. The reef and sand cay were beautiful, we saw lots of fish and sting rays and even the sun came out! Our 6 year old loved it. We saw more here than we did on our snorkelling trip out to the Whitsundays. Many thanks to Eva for looking after us and the skipper for an exhilarating boat ride there and back!

Holiday Amazing experience. The boat ride out was exhilarating and I never thought the Great Barrier Reef would be so rich in marine life .

I’ve done this tour 5-6 times through work and it’s been fantastic every time. The best snorkelling you’ll get on the barrier reef with great guides to take you along. No matter the conditions it’s always a blast. Definitely worth your $$ to have this experience.

Brilliant, mind-blowing experience A very special afternoon. Saw turtles, rays, a reef shark. Just too brilliant to do it justice. Great tour guides, only 30 mins to the snorkelling site, and a sand cay to relax on if you need a break. Wetsuits and life vests make it so much easier to just float in bliss.

Faultless Faultless from start to finish. All the crew were awesome and I couldn't fault any of the proceedings. We saw 3 turtles, wife saw a shark, and generally the coral was stunning with minimal bleaching / degredation. We didn't follow the guide and took a risk to go alone to get away from crowd and it's where we found two more turtles just to ourselves so tick box achieved. Only tip is for other passengers, don't be a moron and ignore the timings etc. One guy swam off way away and it did delay us getting to next site. Not on the crew, just stupid from that passenger.
Also on way in keep an eye out for cassowary as we saw one crossing the road

Memorable day out - turtletastic Amazing day out. Maz and Brooke were excellent and funny guides and showed us the best places to go and what we were seeing but you also had freedom to go where you wanted. Highlight was seeing a turtle up close. Not too many people on the boat which was great as not too crowded in the water.

Awesome. Awesome tour, great friendly staff and well organised. Amazing reef, saw a huge turtle, a whale and heaps of fish. 1/2 day was enough. Kids got tyres towards the end of rack snorkelling spot.

Wow! Fantastic half day snorkeling tour! We loved the half hour fast bumpy boat ride, out to the great barrier reef. Just 18 of us on board. After an hour of snorkeling from the boat, we then loved being dropped off on our own desert island for an hour! Here we could snorkel from the beautiful sandy island, or just sit and relax at the waters edge, with the warm crystal clear water splashing over our feet.
