Bombora Surf School’s All Abilities Adaptive Surf Lesson is designed for surfers with mobility or cognitive disabilities, or anyone requiring enhanced support to enjoy the ocean safely and confidently. These sessions provide an inclusive, empowering surfing experience delivered by experienced Surfing Australia–accredited coaches in a supportive and culturally grounded environment.
Each lesson is tailored to the individual needs, abilities and goals of the surfer. With a strong focus on safety, confidence-building and ocean awareness, Bombora’s adaptive lessons ensure every participant is supported to experience the joy of surfing at their own pace.
Bombora Surf School is proudly First Nations owned and operated and Surfing Australia–accredited. Operating under a Gold Coast City permit at Tallebudgera Surf Life Saving Club and Palm Beach, with Tugun as an adaptive-friendly backup location, Bombora delivers high-quality surf coaching from beginner to advanced levels, including all-abilities and adaptive surfers. Safety, inclusion and respect are central to every session.
Lessons begin with a safety briefing, land-based warm-up and technique introduction, adapted to suit individual needs. In the water, surfers receive hands-on coaching with enhanced support, using adaptive equipment where required. Coaches work closely with participants to build comfort, confidence and connection with the ocean.
Adaptive equipment, including beach access wheels and adaptive soft surfboards, is available to support a wide range of physical and cognitive needs. Bombora’s coaching approach is grounded in Surfing Australia methodology and extends beyond standard surf lessons to include deeper ocean safety education.
