Guided tour experience for visitors to Lightning Ridge

This isn’t just a tour. This is Carinya.

Join us for your front row seat to life on the land, the real, raw and unforgettable side of Carinya Station, Lightning Ridge.

You’ll be welcomed with a cuppa and a friendly chat. Meet the owners: Jacinda and Joe, your hosts, for a warm induction. Guests often say it’s our hospitality, ‘like catching up with old mates’, that makes the biggest impression, and the tour begins the moment you arrive.

Then, hop into The Boss’s Ride and venture into the vast paddocks. From sandhills to black soil plains, every part of Carinya has a story. Some days we’re checking the tanks as cattle come in for water. Other days it’s goats grazing near the timber line or crops greening in the paddock after rain. No two days are the same, no two seasons either – often dry, yet the land endures.

Observe our livestock grazing naturally in the paddock and pull up to chat and discuss the crops. Learn how and why we farm this way, from cattle and goats to listening to the land. Spot wildlife, birds, and soak in big sky yarns. Share real conversations and forge connections.

Pull up in the paddock to kick back, share a yarn, and simply be. Savoring a cool drink and homemade treats before heading back to the homestead.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Smoko Edition – Product-Specific T&Cs • Exclusivity – This is a private tour for up to five guests. • Numbers – Maximum 5 guests in our buggy. • Timing – Please arrive 10 minutes early. Tours depart promptly, and late arrivals will only shorten your tour. • Clothing & Safety – Closed-in shoes required. Helmets are available and can be worn at any time. • Smoko – Our homemade smoko may include gluten, dairy, or nuts. Please advise of any allergies when booking. Menus change with the seasons, often featuring produce from our garden. For last-minute bookings (less than 24 hours), we may not be able to accommodate all dietary requirements, but will do our best where possible. • Weather – Tours may be rescheduled or refunded if conditions are unsafe (e.g. storms or extreme heat). • Transfers – Return transfers from Lightning Ridge are available for $100 per group.
