Hunter Valley Helicopters were incredibly well organised and truly professional from start to finish. The flight itself was absolutely breathtaking. Our pilot didn’t just fly us over the region — they brought it to life, pointing out key landmarks, hidden gems, and even spotting our accommodation from the air.

Seeing the Hunter Valley from above gives you a whole new appreciation for its beauty — from rugged mountain ranges and vast open‑cut mines to rolling vineyards and iconic attractions. It’s an unforgettable way to experience the region. I can’t recommend it highly enough. A solid 10 out of 10.

Trial introduction flight Very good experience, I did the trial introduction flight with Grayson and he knows his stuff!

My husband and I had a full day experience starting with helicopter flight to a day spa, 2 hours at the day spa then flight to Leogate estate for wine tasting and a three course lunch at the Gates restaurant and another flight back to Cessnock airport. Our pilot Jake was great and pointed out numerous points of interest during each flight. The weather was not the best but we had a great time. Would definitely recommend it

Wine and waves experience It was a very professional atmosphere from start to finish. Grayson our pilot was very informative about the helicopter and the scenery. We saw the lake, beaches, harbour and vineyards and the commentary and views were absolutely amazing. Would definitely recommend.

Wonderful Experience - more than five star excursion! We had a wonderful experience. From booking process and mail exchange everything was perfectly handle by Jake. And what a positive surprise, he was our pilot! Super professional and helpful. The chosen wineries were just perfect. And our highlight was the pick-up and drop-off from our resort!

Amazing day full of great memories We had the best time and could not recommend HVH enough. Our pilot was highly skilled and went out of his way to make the take off and landing sensational. We included an extra stop (wine tasting) and it was a real James Bond moment landing near the vineyards in front of the testing verandah. We selected a Friday and started at 11.30am and finished back at the airport just after 4.30pm. What a great day.

Anniversary tour My partner and I did the 10 minute tour over the Hunter Valley for our anniversary. It was such an increadible view and experience. Adam was a great pilot with an even better sense of humor! The only thing I would have changed is to have done the longer tour! We would definitely recommend!

Spectacular! We recently celebrated our Anniversary with a "High Flyer Dining Experience" in the Hunter Valley that included a Helicopter joy-flight and lunch at The Gates Restaurant at Leogate Winery, booked using "Red Balloon" Vouchers. Being personally picked up via Helicopter at our accommodation and flown to our lunch destination via a flight over Wine Country was a thrill! After a delicious and delightful lunch (without any specific finish time) we were again picked up and returned to our starting point via Helicopter. Our Pilot, Jake, was professional and friendly. The day was a little inclement, but Jake worked around the weather conditions to ensure we were safe and had clear vistas of the below landscape. Thank you to Jake at Hunter Valley Helicopters and The Gates Restaurant - this was an amazing experience!

Beautiful and scenic helicopter ride Adam was an amazing pilot, very sweet and friendly, and gave us a beautiful tour of hunter valley on our anniversary. It was truly breathtaking and a wonderful experience my wife and I will always remember.

Great experience has to be done we booked a 30 minute flight which took in not only various vineyards in the Hunter Valley, but also across part of the mountains , from the minute we arrived until we left literally had a brilliant time, lots of laughs lots of jokes, and some amazing views, absolutely amazing experience brilliant way to see the Hunter Valley, would absolutely recommend to everyone.

We celebrated my husbands birthday with the "Picnic in the Sky" experience, and it exceeded all our expectations! Jake, our pilot, was fantastic—professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. He made the flight enjoyable and ensured we had an incredible time.

The views from above were nothing short of spectacular, offering us a unique perspective of the Hunter Valley. The visit to Kawal Distillery was a delightful addition to our adventure, where we learned about their distilling process and sampled some of their spirits.

Flying to Kawal Rock on their property was another highlight. The breathtaking scenery provided the perfect backdrop for our celebration. The picnic lunch was very delicious.

Overall, the "Picnic in the Sky" was an unforgettable experience that we would highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique and memorable way to celebrate a special occasion. Thank you to Jake and Louise of Kawal Distillery for making this day so special!

Two separate HVH bookings this week. First one was a half hour trial lesson experience in the R22 for the Mrs. As expected, Grayson was confidence inspiring and utterly awesome. Taking the doors off the aircraft is genius. The Mrs has raved about this ever since. Second booking was for wine tasting and lunch the next day. Jake landed the R44 at our accommodation bang on 10am before whisking us off to McCaffrey's Estate for an hours tasting session. Then off to The Gates at Leogate for a 2 hour lunch before bringing us back to our accommodation. An utter gentleman and a fabulous pilot. Thank you both so much. This was not our first experience with HVH, nor will it be the last.

The day was beautiful with a quick tour over the hunter valley then 3 stops to different wineries with wine tastings booked for us alongside a lunch booking.

Pilot was friendly and helpful, I have mobility issues and he helped me physically access the chopper.
Trip was only short but. Helicopter ride was a bucket list item for me.

Great quick trip over the Hunter Valley Took our Red Balloon experience today with HV Helicopters, and despite rainy weather, we had a great time! Grayson our pilot was great at pointing out all the places we know in the Hunter Valley from driving, but look so different from the air!

A must do in the Hunter Valley This was a surprise flight for my 8 year olds birthday. The pilot who flew us in the helicopter was amazing. My son had an amazing time and next time we will definitely book the longer one. I just have to remember after reminding my son to not walk around the back of the helicopter ????

I purchased the VIP lunch package, with an add on winery tour for a surprise proposal. The experience was absolutely amazing from the time we took off and was whisked away for our amazing lunch. I have to say Grayson is an amazing photographer, as he captured every single moment of our memorable day.

The airport is close to Cessnock and Polkobin accomodation options, if you’re after a special experience you have to do it!

Learn to fly with HVH I did a trial introductory flight with Oliver in an R22, lasting half an hour. Great experience. Loads of fun. I thought it was great value for money. Highly recommended for anyone interested in learning to fly helicopters.
