Darwin Bombing 19 February 1942 - As It Happened! it happened. Great tour and historical information in sequence as it happened to better understand this very significant event in Australia's history. Stories of brave and courageous people. Hearing about these stories and events from the boat in the harbour and looking to the sites along the coastline really had an impact, especially visiting the USS Peary site. Lots of great photos, friendly and professional skipper and staff plus the ANZAC cookies all made for a great tour. Highly recommend.

Ww2 tour We enjoyed this tour. It gave a good overview of ww2 and the bombing of Darwin. The cruise of the harbour was good and very informative. You could adjust your walking if needed. The bus was a bit warm but it was a very warm day.

I learnt a lot and would recommend to visitors to Darwin.

The Bombing of Darwin tour was fab, very informative and engaging! Betty took us around in the new bus, I think she was more excited than us! Great tour and great guide.
Turtle tracks tour - I think this is the best tour I've ever been on. Our guides were brilliant, so knowledgeable and respectful of all the wildlife. We saw about 40 tiny turtles emerging from their nest, a beautiful thing to witness! Because it wasn't dark enough to release them, they were put in a canvas bag and given to my partner for safe keeping and warmth! So sweet. We then saw a mama turtle dig a nest and lay her eggs.
Releasing the babies under the milky way was an experience I'll never forget.
The boat ride back included food and drinks, which were lush!
We'd highly recommend Sea Darwin for their tours, and if we're ever in the Top End again, we'll be sure to book another 😊

Excellent Great tour and well organised.
Bus and boat were both comfortable and guides were very knowledgeable with many interesting stories.
Considerate of passengers and well worth a half day and the price.

Disappointed as I was really looking forward to going! Big swell - 1 passenger couldn’t even get on because of it!
One of the girls said this was the biggest swell they’d had as we were boarding
I was a Solo traveller and I was told I could only sit in the back row because other groups were booked together

Engaging sunset cruise I sailed the sunset cruise on Friday, Sept. 6. The captain and his mates were awesome! They managed every aspect of the evening with ease and grace. We felt engaged by all three. Good conversation flowed. The fish and chips were delicious. I had a wonderful time!

Yesterday evening we ventured with Sea Darwin out to Bare Sand Island for the turtle nesting. From the moment we stepped aboard the crew was amazing and never stopped looking after the passengers, with insights, general chat and ensuring everyone was comfortable and enjoying the trip.
Once on the island, our minds were blown! We lost count of how many turtles we saw wandering up to the dunes to lay their eggs. The knowledgeable team were very respectful of the turtles and ensured we all stayed out of sight of the turtles, while we witnessed every step - from digging the nest and then the the egg chamber, laying the eggs, re-covering the nest with sand and heading back into the water to swim off into the sunset. It was amazing and the knowledge of the team was next level. We learnt so much and can’t recommend this trip enough…. Oh and did I mention the meal and drinks that were served, absolutely delicious. Thank you Sea Darwin for a fantastic evening

Captain Adrian and his crew, Kate & Carolyn were fantastic! Greeted with a beverage on boarding and enjoyed the beautiful fish n chips while taking in the sunset. Adrian passing on his local knowledge which made for a great experience.

We went on the Bombing of Darwin Tour in the Wet season, which was hot but its in a covered canopy boat so that doesn't matter! The tour guides were very friendly and chatty and really interesting to listen too. Loved it!

From the moment we touched base with the staff we were treated as guests & taken care of.
The fish n chips were great & super fresh. The highlight for me was to see some of Darwin Harbour & learn just a little about this fascinating place. Staff were simply 10/10. We could not be happier. Initially I thought the cruise a bit expensive but by the time we disembarked, I felt we certainly got our moneys worth.
I highly recommend taking this cruise or any other this becomes provides. Knowledgeable, friendly, informative & fun.

Worth the price. Very well organized. The narrator spoke very clearly and we could hear everything he said. There were couple of naval ships in the bay so it created more atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this tour as we really enjoyed it. Good price as you get to see the RFDS also which is very interesting.

I did the half day WW2 by Land and Sea tour with my teenage son. This was an excellent tour and one of our best experiences in Darwin. The tour goes to key sites from the boming of Darwin including a harbour cruise. A visit to the Darwin Military Museum was included - this was one of the best museums I've ever been to for its size and I want to go back for a longer visit. Highly recommended if you have a free half day in Darwin.

Stepping out to watch the sunset in the middle of the harbour was a complete surprise and l know just lucky but to actually touch h the water safely in Darwin was brilliant. Well worth the time! So much to learn about. Highly recommend this tour. Great experience to really understand what happened in the Top End during WWII. Did so much and it was so interesting that the time flew. Getting out on the harbour plus the bus tour showing you all the locations and what went on was really very informative. Excellent trip.

An excellent WW2 tour and cruise This was an excellent tour and cruise. We learnt so much about WW2 history in Darwin - interesting, informative and a great experience with excellent tour guides.

True Darwin Style Small boat, great experience. The staff and commentary were informative but lots of fun. The souvenir glass and stubby holder are a great memento. Beautiful fish and chips, casual dinner, perfect!!

Bombing of Darwin Phil did an amazing job teaching and showing us the history of this area, it really should be taught in schools, it truly is something that we need to learn about, recognise and see for ourselves. The boat ride was also fun and overall we had a great time, thank you.

One of the best cruises I’ve ever been on! So so so much fun! The skipper and crew were fantastic and so accommodating. The fish and chips were fresh and delicious. We cruised around the harbour in the speed boat, we saw massive ships and the skipper had a wealth of knowledge. Would highly recommend!

Informative and enjoyable Enjoyable and informative cruise about the bombing of Darwin. A little disappointing as didn’t get to see the sunken wreck -sonar not working.
RFDS had a great 3D VR on the Darwin bombing and also a hologram of Dr John Flynn on the history of RFDS. Great display inside with a Japanese bomber and also the flying ambulance that you can climb into .
Definitely recommend this trip.

Bombing of Darwin cruise. Fantastic cruise around the historical water sites with added commentary of land sites affected by 1942 attack. Skipper shared his passion and knowledge in the most detailed way. Would cruise SHEIN with this company.

Best sunset cruise We have been on lots of sunset cruises but this one was by far the best , we loved the boat doing donuts and the Fish’n chips and drinks were great but the very best was getting off the boat on a huge sandbar to take some lovely sunset pics , well done to the skipper and his crew????????????????????????Highly recommend SEA DARWIN????

Four adults, two youngsters ( children given a chip starter for free to keep them going whilst fish cooking ) enjoyed a freshly cooked meal early afternoon.Prices about right and toilets clean. Batter to die for.

Disappointed Cruise started out great, lovely Crew, free drink & stubby cooler. Great commentary. Got to Cullen Bay to pick up fish&chips and basically floated around!! Didn’t cruise anywhere else and no more info about Darwin, basically left to talk amongst ourselves. The Fish was quite dark in colour and a bit strong, chips were soggy. I was expecting a bit more for $99.

What an experience. The Turtle Tracks tour was outstanding. After a 1hr45min fast boat ride we arrived at Bare Sand island. We were able to hold some turtle hatchlings which we got to release into the ocean once the moon was high enough. After a barefoot walk along the beach we started to see a couple of turtles begin their trek up from the water to a nesting spot. Amazingly we were able to get up close and personal and watch this amazing mama lay her eggs and then cover them over. Such a humbling experience. Our guides on the beach were a wealth of information being marine biologists. They obviously knew their stuff. The boat ride back included an amazing bento box dinner and a drink or two. Thank you skipper and crew for an experience we will never forget

Spectacular sunset cruise This cruise included delicious fish and chips, a choice of drink, and an amazing sunset. Our skipper Kerry and his assistants were very informative. The sky following the sunset turned a beautiful crimson colour. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommended.

Highly recommend Bombing of Darwin Land & Sea Tour I really enjoyed this tour and the knowledge I gained from the informative and friendly tour guides. The tour is very well run from pick up by Phil, who made everyone feel relaxed and welcome with his easy and friendly approach and also provided an impressive history from the land perspective, to the boat crew, Kerry and Dave who gave an interesting perspective of the sea approach and a great view of Darwin from the sea. This all round tour gave me a real visual of how it all happened and what led up to the bombing. Along with the visit to the War Museum, (well worth it), and other sites of interest I thought it was a fantastic overview and insight into a part of Australian history many of us know little about. I really enjoyed the variety of the tour and it kept me engaged!!

Insight into Australia’s war history Phil’s knowledge of the WWII bombing of Darwin was extensive and colourful. We visited a number of key sites in and around the city before hopping on the boat which took us to interesting and historical points around the harbour. By the time we finished we had a clear vision of how it must have felt the morning the Japanese attacked the city. Our morning culminated at the military museum where any gaps of knowledge could be filled. An informative and enjoyable morning which was not too heavy and full of variation ..ideal for a couple with one person seriously interested in military history, and the other not so! .

Interesting bus tour but was disappointed with the boat trip Bus driver was lovely, informative and interesting and the museum excellent (well worth a separate visit really- so much information and a lot of it very interactive). The boat trip was a repeat of what we were told by the bus driver and our guide, friendly as he was, was reading from notes and not at all confident with the stories and it felt really awkward to be watching /listening at times. For $150 p.p. I do expect better.

If you have the time this half day tour is most worthwhile! Very informative tour and an eye opener to the devastation Darwin suffered on February 19th 1942 and for months to come.
Also was a a fantastic way of orientating ourselves in Darwin on our first day and seeing some of the major sites during our drive around.

A must do in Darwin This is a must if you are in Darwin, the perfect way to see a Darwin sunset. Well worth the price which was $99/adult and $89 for our 14 yo. The serving of fish and chips was generous, it also includes a glass of wine/ bubbles or a choice of 2 different beers, you can purchase any subsequent drinks and you get to keep the wine glass/ stubby holder. Kerry the captain was informative and explained all the relevant land marks, I'm sorry I can't remember the 2 girls who were with him but they were informative and very attentive to the passengers. Also we had booked for a different night but our daughter had an opportunity to do something on that night and I can't speak highly enough of Heather in the office who although thought she might not be able to move us managed to make it happen. We did the cruise on our last night in Darwin and it topped of an amazing week and sent us home wanting more.

WW2 Darwin Well worth it. Got a really good overview of the bombing prior to the harbour cruise which connected everything together. Phil was great and the bus comfortable. Would’ve liked more time in the WW2 museum though. Recommend this tour.

Great story, needs to be expanded into the full story, i.e. what happened next? Drove around looking out the window at signs that were difficult to read, with no authenticity around it. Each part of the tour told the same story where as we expected the sea story to be additional to the land story, but it was just repeated. Would have been great to understand what happened post the first raid and how we responded.

Bombing of Darwin. Very informative tour, really enjoyed it. Phil was a great tour guide as were the guys on the speed boat that took us out to the remains of the US Peary on the harbour. Highly recommend this tour.

Absolute value for money!! What a great cruise, the crew were fantastic, very knowledgeable of the area, and fish n chips were incredible! The snapper was very, very fresh and plenty of it! And mother nature provided the fitting stage for this excellent evening!

Well worth the trip! The cruise was excellent on every level. Darwin Harbour is beautiful, even more so at sunset. The crew was great; the boat comfortable; the fish and chips delicious; the music soundtrack on the boat was great; beer/wine/soda/water available as well. The views were amazing, especially as the sun went down. Like I said, excellent on every level. I will definitely do this again!

Darwin bombing boat Tour This was a very interesting tour I think lots of war history.
The boat ride was good the owner of the tour was very informative although I think he could of had a microphone so everyone could hear.

The boat tour stopping at points of interest was facinating and whete the Japanese bombed Darwin.
He asked if anyone wanted water I think as it’s so hot water should be just given to you as you step on board and sit down
At the end we were given Anzac. Biscuits and by then I wanted good strong coffee to boost me up.
I thought he would at the end talk reg people to go to the war museum up there ramp to the sharp left as when I got off I thought maybe that was it!
And I read the information wrong reg the tours.
I then went looking and found by accident the the museum where visual googles the air rake well came alive as you sat watching as if your in the bombing
Raid.
The museum on the warf at stokes warf is amazing and I’d walked past that shed so many times not knowing what was in it!

Overall great day really hot. Take hat and sunscreen and water

I personally think the day was perfect however the tour should of been exsplain Better.

A real joy ride! The high light of our trip to Darwin was this surprising boat trip. The best fish and chips, fantastic views of the city, friendly people and a perfect time. A real joy ride @ 2 speeds! Thanks guys
