Arguably Tasmania’s best day trip! At the end of this day, you will understand why the tourist numbers have doubled in the past 4 years! Bruny Island has a little bit of everything mainland Tasmania has – world class beaches, national parks, rugged coastline and native wildlife matched with the finest local produce from the ocean and the land.
While it’s impossible to do everything in one day, we have designed various tours to fit in with the day’s weather conditions so we can provide the most enjoyable experience. You can expect an active (easy/moderate level) morning with nature walks, albino wallaby spotting, spectacular scenery lookouts, exploring pristine beaches and lagoon (swimming optional). This tour takes you off the beaten track and into areas that are only accessible by walking tracks that only locals know about.
After an adventurous morning, it will be time to pull it back a gear as we head for lunch at the Bruny Hotel, with many options to suit budgets and dietary requirements. After lunch, unwind and relax as we sample some award winning local produce. Honey, chocolate fudge, beverages and oysters are all possibilities (time pending and at own cost)!
Some of the things you can expect to see and do:
(some will be weather and time permitting)
- Temperate rainforest walk
- Walking tracks (easy to moderate level)
- Swimming (weather permitting)
- Wildlife spotting (we know some of the hiding spots of the elusive albino wallaby which may allow for a spotting!)
- Viewing platform at the Neck
- Cape Bruny Lighthouse
- Secret water holes and lagoons
- Picturesque beaches
- Sample award-winning food at your own cost, like honey, chocolate and oysters.
- Lunch stop (own cost)
- Please note: It is impossible to go to every attraction in a day. So we like to mix up the days to best suit the group on board for the day and to suit the weather conditions to ensure you guys get the best day possible without it feeling rushed.

Great day! Was my last favorite of the 4 but I'm glad I did it because it's a different part of Tasmania than the other 3 days. Beautiful countryside and great stops.
Smallest group on this tour so I enjoyed that.
Hobart Highlights- Guide: Mark
Started at Salamanca Market. Bummer that Mt Wellington road was closed so we did not get to go up. We drove up as far as we could and played in the snow but I was looking forward to the lookout view. At Richmond, I went through the jail on my own and enjoyed being at my own pace; there were only a couple people besides me there. Bonorong was great feeding the kangaroos!!!
Port Arthur- Guide: Mark again
I will advise that there's not enough time at Port Arthur to properly see it on this tour, so if you're someone who wants to go in each building, read all the signs, listen to the guides, look their the museum, and do the ferry, there's not enough time!!! For most people who just want to see it, it's probably enough time for you but I was overwhelmed with how much I missed. I do recommend the ferry since it goes around Isle of the Dead and they're talking through the ride. If you get nauseous, go stand outside though (it's a VERY smooth, short ride, with bakery/cafe/ coffee items to purchase on board)
Bruny Island- Guide: Pascal
My favorite tour! My favorite guide!
Great day, we had great weather! Very knowledgeable about the plants/animals and history/people. Lucky to see 4 white wallabies.
I highly recommend Tassie Tours! So easy, bringing you right back where they picked you up. They take care of you and give you time at each stop. They ARE PUNCTUAL so if they say they'll be there at 7:06, they really mean 7:06! No problems at all. All super great and knowledgeable guides.
Side note: on my last day I did a great tour on my own at the Hobart Female Factory.
Would recommend to people of all ages!
I would definitely recommend to friends.
Jodi made our tour experience lots of fun and very intetesting with all her kmowledge.
I found Tassi tours to be very professional and wouldnt hesitate booking another tour with Jodi as my tour guide.

I just finished the Bruny Island tour today (Thursday, 9th April), and honestly, I am still buzzing!
The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and the entire day was so seamlessly planned. But what truly made the experience was our guide, Brunzy. He was the absolute standout—incredibly informative, organized, and he went above and beyond to ensure every single person had the best day possible.
By the end of the tour, I didn’t feel like just another tourist; I felt like I’d spent the day with a local friend. Brunzy, thank you so much for the laughs and the hospitality! And don't forget... you have to try that rum!
I cannot recommend Tassie Tours highly enough. If you’re in Tasmania, do yourself a favour and book a trip with them.

We had a nice day.
However, she offered very limited information while driving and did not go with the guests on the first stop, she just pointed (it was raining, maybe she did not want to get wet). The final stop she walked with us after our request, but did not add any information during the walk to the wildlife refuge.
This was not so much a round as a bur ride to 3 areas in Hobart.
But overall great experience and my tour guide Sky was very informative and engaging :)
The food on Bruny is insane! I cannot recommend you try the oysters more highly. Best in the world. The beautiful lagoon we stopped at for a swim was so idyllic and the water was actually way warmer than I expected it to be - don't forget your bathers!
I loved how you could 'choose your own adventure' on the Wineglass Bay tour. I chose to walk down the 1000 steps to the beach and WOW! I'm so glad I did. What a spectacular part of the world. I cannot recommend these tours more highly 😍
A little piece of paradise for sure.
Highly recommend
We booked the full day (10 hour) tour to Bruny Island and it was an amazing experience. The directions for meet up were clear and the driver was on time. The coffee and breakfast options at the ferry were delicious and we enjoyed getting out of the car on the ferry ride over. Every stop was intentional and informative. We walked a lot and had the option to enjoy great food and snacks along the way. Our driver brought us to some amazing beaches and his guidance and humor was top notch. The memories and photos we have of our day will be cherished. Thank you, Andrew, for a great time!
Thumb up to him, and thankfully we have seen some wildlife here in Tasmania.
As well as we do enjoy the history about Australia and Tasmania.
Yeah, we have a good wrap up for our tour with really delicious oysters.
Great plan and heartfully thanks, and appreciate for Nathan's plan.
Best regards, Amy from Singapore.
Beautiful views, good food, wild nature and great talks!
I would highly recommend it
On my day trip, the Tahune air walk was cancelled. The company refunded a portion of our payment for the airwalk, without any prompting from us. I have been cheated by other tour companies before, so I really appreciate this.
Our tour guide (?Juno/Johno/Juneau) was so friendly and kind. I had lost my jacket and it was cold, so he offered me his jackets throughout the day. It's a shame I hesitated asking him to clarify his name 😅.
The rest of the tour, Hasting caves- spectacular and apple pie- great touch to the trip.
Highly recommend Tassie tours in general and this particular tour.
The day was full of information, good humour and activities that lived up to all that was promised.
Our guide Andrew was fantastic — very knowledgeable, relaxed, friendly and always making the tours enjoyable. The car was super comfortable and spotless every day, which made the experience even better.
We did three tours in a row (Bruny Island, Port Arthur, and Hobart Highlights) and all of them were stunning and very smooth. Everyone we dealt with was professional and kind.
Highly recommend Tassie Tours and would definitely book with them again! 🌈✨
Whether it was quirky colonial trivia or insights into Tasmania’s evolving culture, Mark tailored the experience to our group’s interests with impressive finesse. It felt less like a tour and more like being shown around by a passionate local friend who genuinely loves this city.
The pacing was perfect, the sites were stunning, and Mark’s commentary added layers of meaning to everything we saw. If you’re looking for a tour that’s both informative and delightfully human, this is it.
Highly recommend booking with Mark—you’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for Hobart and a smile that lasts well beyond the final stop. We booked via Klook btw
