Purnululu with Bec from Kingfisher Tours The drive in with Bec was amazing, such a bad road but she knew every inch of it. Her knowledge was excellent and interesting. She sang inside The Cathedral at Purnululu, this was a very special treat.

Bad experience The guide lacked enthusiasm and didn’t provide much information about the area. The pace was too fast, and we didn't have enough time to appreciate the beautiful surroundings. For the price, I expected a more informative and engaging experience. I wouldn't recommend this tour if you're looking for a quality walking experience.

Outstanding knowledge, professional, well organised Last week we had a day trip to Purnululu (Bungle Bungle ranges) with Air Kimberley based out of Darwin.

Kingfisher Tours, a local community business, conducted the ground component of the trip, which was a two kilometre walk to Cathedral Gorge. We were very lucky to have Rebecca, from the local indigenous community, as our guide on the walk. She was amazing, able to provide insights into the area from her mob’s perspective and their learnings of having lived in that Country for millennia. Our small group really enjoyed her stories, and sense of humour. She also ensured that we had frequent breaks and water stops during the walk, as the temperature was around 43°C, as well as driving the vehicle.

All our group found this to be a fantastic trip and highly recommend Kingfisher Tours.

Note that if you do this walk it is considered to be a high risk walk, not because of the territory but because of the absence of water and the high temperature. There are a few places where you need to step up on rocks but somebody that is mostly mobile should be able to cope.

Amazing Purnululu tour with Bec Sampi We were incredibly impressed by the way that Bec brought our day at Purnululu to life. Her deep knowledge of the landscapes, the animals and plants and their uses, her storytelling and singing the wonderful songs of her people were just phenomenal. She welcomed us to Country, showed us a birthing pool and other solemn and significant places, and explained the complex relationship between this unique place and the original inhabitants. Without Bec our experience would have been so much more superficial, and we are deeply grateful to her for sharing her knowledge with us.

Bungle Bungles magic with Beck Fabulous day tour with Beck Sampi from Kingfisher tours through the Bungle Bungles. Beck brought wonderful stories and Aboriginal cultural background to the beautiful area .and sang to us in her native language. A truly memorable and awe inspiring experience. A new highlight of our trip through the kimberleys.

Bec Sampi, Purnululu Guide Bec Sampi was the perfect tour guide for our Purnululu experience. Bec was able make one of the most spectacular places in Australia even more special, with her knowledge and her connection to the land. She spoke of traditions, showed rock art, told stories and sang for us. An unforgettable morning. I would highly recommend Bec at Kingfisher Tours.

A memorable outback adventure This trip definitely fulfilled my wish to get off the beaten track and witness vast expanses of untouched landscapes, travelling by light aircraft and 4WD. Our Indigenous guide Bec was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. All the Kingfisher people I met were very hospitable. Bec singing her Welcome to Country at the Cathedral Gorge was magic. Another highlight was hearing dingoes howling during the night while staying at the superb Mitchell Falls Wilderness Lodge.

Do not book with Kingfisher tours. Do not book with this company. Booked and paid for a bungle bungle tour that was cancelled as the park was closed due to bad weather. Despite numerous promises of a refund we are still waiting six months on.
Told over and over that the refund will be paid but still no refund. Maybe they think $2700.00 is not worth us worrying about?
These people are totally dishonest and should be avoided.
We are going to have to take legal action to get our money back.

Not trustworthy dishonest Whatever you do don't use this company if your trip is cancelled through no fault of your own, getting a refund has been unbearably difficult. The excuses made by the owner Rosie have gone on for 5 months. Promise after promise, lies not good enough.. no it was not us who cancelled the flight to the Bungles Bungles it was them

We all went on a fantastic tour into the Bungles with Kingfisehr tours and it was a truly humbling experience to walk onto country with local custodian for country guides. the stories the singing in the gorges it was truly beautiful . Kingfisher provided great lunches afternoon cheese board and Margaret river wine . Great to experience thanks Kingfisher

Bungles Day Trek: Cathedral Gorge & Echidna Chasm Our guide was Bec who is a local Gija woman and whose “Country” we were lucky enough to visit and be part of for a day. Bec’s storytelling helped us paint a picture of Purnululu (Bungle Bungles) that only a local custodian could do. Letting us take a glimpse into the way of life, culture, lore and customs, traditions and song lines connected to ‘her country’.

Once we were inside the Cathedral Gorge space and waterway. Bec made us all sit down, put our phones down and become silent as we soaked in the serenity and sacredness of the place. She then sang us a song in local language which I think was welcoming us onto this part of the country as well as honoring her ancestors. It was hauntingly beautiful with the stunning acoustics of the space.

From here we made our way over to Echidna Chasm, which is at the other end of the park. It felt like we were entering ‘Jurassic Park’ as we made our way along the dry river bed, with majestic red rocks and massive palm trees towering over us as we entered the Echidna Chasm. Bec stopping and telling us stories along the way, she sang here too.

Make sure you take plenty of water, sunscreen, camera, good hat and hiking shoes/boots, sense of adventure to soak it all in!

I highly recommend Kingfisher Tours on their Bungles Day Trek which included Cathedral Gorge and Echidna Chasm.

Bec was a wealth of knowledge and experience with a bit of humour thrown in.

Great Tours, Great Knowledge, Great Fun We were lucky enough to have two tours through Kingfisher Tours, the first was a day Off The Beaten Track with Rosie who was fantastic, vast local knowledge, fantastic scenery and great food to boot. The second was an Extended Day Trip To Purnululu visiting both the Southern Massif including Cathedral Gorge and and Northern Massif including Echidna Chasm. The whole day was amazing as too our wonderful guide Bec .simply remarkable and an absolute pleasure to have her educate us about this Sacred Place. Would highly recommend Kingfisher Tours and these tours to anyone considering them. Well worth it in all respects.

great day tour I went on the Bungles Day Trek tour (with Echidna Chasm), flying out of/ into Kununurra. It was a wonderful day out, the scenery was truly impressive, the walks were great (and not difficult), and the experience was made even better by having a wonderfully knowledgeable guide in Bec.

Fascinating Tour of Bungles We were joined by Bec from Kingfisher Tours at the Airstrip at Purnululu National Park. The land tour was organised by Air Kimberley who flew us from Broome to The Bungle Bungles. Air Kimberley were excellent & supplied us with delicious snacks & a magnificent picnic lunch. Our pilot Flynn provided an informative commentary on interesting sights as we flew over them.
Bec, a local Gija woman, welcomed us with morning tea, including her freshly baked delicious damper. We then drove with her for approx 15mins to the Bungle Bungles. Her tour was incredible. Not only did we learn about the rock formations, but also her culture, customs, ceremonies & history. When Bec sang a Welcome to Country for us at Cathedral Gorge, another 2 tour groups nearby suddenly fell silent & listened. They like us were transcended to another world. We were certainly fortunate to have Bec from Kingfisher Tours as our guide through The Bungle Bungles. The other tour groups were lucky to be nearby & enjoy Bec's Welcome.

Mitchell Falls & Bungle Bungles tours we joined Kingfisher tours for both Mitchell Falls & the Bungle Bungles. both days were GREAT ..Zac the pilot we had both trips made us feel at ease in his small plane and Kohly who was our guide at Mitchell Falls looked after us when crossing wet rocks, climbing up rocks that had nothing to grip on he was always there looking out for us. He was also informative. Bec, his mother was our guide at the Bungle Bungles and she was amazing sharing her culture & country with us. She sang a Welcome to Country to us at the Cathedral and oh my ..goosebump moment. She also shared with us a song telling the story of her grandmother what a special time. morning tea & lunch both days also great and plenty of it.

Enriching visit to Bungle Bungles From the scenic flight in with Zac from Kununurra over Lake Argyle to birds eye view of the Bungle Bungles this tour was awesome. Our guide Kolya enhanced our walks in Echidna Chasm and Piccaninny Gorge/ Cathedral with talks on country and indigenous culture, a highlight listening to another guide, Bec, singing in the gorge. Accomodation at the safari camp was luxury in the outback.

Mitchell Falls Day Trek (k7) - Remarkable !! What an amazing trip!

Departed Kununurra on an early morning flight to Mitchell Plateau.
The scenery was awe inspiring!

Arrived at Mitchell Plateau where we met our fantastic guides Kolya aka LT and Treylin aka Dr Dre- Their knowledge of the area was very Informative. LT & Dr Dre has a great sense of humour too!

Then we had a remarkable helicopter flight over the Mitchell Falls - what an experience!! Followed by a leisurely 2.5 hour trek - from the top of the Mitchell and Big Mertens Falls - and swimming at the bottom of Little Mertens Falls - wonderfully refreshing!!!

Reluctantly departing we flew Back to Kununurra at 'Golden hour' viewing scenery of gorges, rivers and the Cockburn Ranges! Arriving back in Kununurra at sunset!!

The only way to see Purnululu (Bungle Bungles) A magical experience of Purnululu and a top-quality tour. Flying over the Bungle Bungles and Lake Argyle, walking through Cathedral Gorge and Echidna Chasm, witnessing art dating thousand of years old, listening to dreamtime stories and the local tribes - it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I’ll never forget and worth every penny. Kolya and Eddy were thoughtful and informative hosts who took the time to answer all our questions and share stories about their people and culture. Zac was a friendly and responsible pilot who kept us safe in the air. We were treated to homemade damper for morning tea, a delicious box of goodies for lunch and then a cheeseboard for afternoon tea. Thank you for sharing your culture and country with us!

Must not miss this experience in the Bungles Bec Our First Nations Tour guide was excellent. She was informative and extremely knowledgeable of not only the area but also bush tucker. She had a great sense of humour and provided us with a fabulous performance of a traditional song in the Cathedral Gorge.
She went way beyond her role by sharing some of her wonderful memories.

Best waterfall trip Beck our guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable . She knew so much of the history and cultural of the land. Superb 4WD handling. We saw black rock waterfall, middle spring, Molly falls and the Grotto. My kids swam in all the waterfalls, dived, attempted to fish and had the best time. Lunch and morning tea was served picnic style. Will be back for sure.

Amazing Day out with Kingfisher! Our family of 5 was lucky enough to jump on a ground tour at Mitchell Falls with Kingfisher Tours, and we are so glad we did! The whole day was such an amazing experience and highlight for our family. Our Indigenous guide Kolya was very knowledgeable with a great sense of humour and we enjoyed learning about the culture of the area. He was great at engaging our 3 young children who especially enjoyed learning about bush tucker. Kolya was a very professional guide, whilst ensuring we had an enjoyable safe tour. Kingfisher tours were great to deal with and the booking process and communication was seamless. We highly recommend them and look forward to booking another tour with them in the future.

Mitchell Falls day tour absolutely wonderful. The day tour to Mitchell Falls was absolutely fantastic! It was well organized and very informative. The flight from Kunnunarra was amazing, scenery stunning, helicopter ride to the falls with a great view of the falls, swim above the falls and beautiful hike back on the plateau with lunch and more swimming. Not only one but both my tours with this company were cancelled. I had to follow up with this company every time, not once did I receive a call back as stated by them. Seems as though they might need a lot more admin assistance as it was hard enough to get a hold of someone on the phone, even showed up at their office during office hours but it was closed. Rosie who I dealt with was very lovely and did provide a complementary drink bottle for the inconvenience, but it still was very frustrating to deal with this company. I wish I would have just gotten a refund after my tours were cancelled instead of waiting on them to “help” reschedule a time for me.

Brilliant day out including informative pilot on flights and made extra-special by having the wonderful story telling and funny Bec as our Aboriginal guide...she made the visits to Cathedral Gorge and Echidna Chasm come alive with her stories and singing. Great flight over the Bungle Bungles A really interesting flight over Lake Argyle, Bungle Bungles and Argyle diamond mine. Our pilot was excellent. Felt very safe and he was very knowledgeable snd informative. My only negative was that it was a really hot day and we travelled in a tiny 6 seater plane with no aircon. It became extremely warm inside which made me feel a bit queasy.

Found Kingfisher and Rosie by chance late Sunday afternoon. Didn't much around, booked a trip to Mitchel Falls. Pilot's knowledge of the landscape and history was outstanding. I looked for a prompt sheet on the dash, none there! Spoken with enthusiasm and live of the country and her job, all on board enjoyed it. Met Kolya our guide upon arrival. No doubt we were the luckiest visitors there. Kolya's people are from nearby Warmun area. He was able to share insights of his proud family and culture which was very special to us. He is passionate about what he does, and sharing his culture with visitors. Funny and informative, shame to only spend one day with him.

Amazing tour! I did the bungles + echidna chasm, the flight to the bungle from kununurra was spectacular, our pilot gives a lot of info about the landscape, and the walking tour at cathedral Gorge and echidna chasm were amazing the guide also was really nice and full of info x us. Best experience in the kimberly, really professional and lovely. Also the do small group, and that is much more relaxing. I recommend to everybody to take kingfisher tour, they are the best. We had a fantastic trip to Mitchell falls. When we initially tried to book Rosie explained that there was only a wait list for the tour on the day we wanted to go so we put our names on the list. Luckily within a couple of hours, Rosie called us and we had the trip confirmed as there was another booking. We were collected from our campsite at 6am, as advised, and taken to the airport where we were met by our 2 pilots, Lewis and Ell. You can take your own backpack or use one from the company. Water is provided for the plane journey which was epic and very smooth. The pilots provided lots of commentary about the land and areas we flew over. On landing we met our guide for the walk to the falls, Carl. Carl and Lewis took us by car to start of our walk and provided morning tea. Carl guided us on the walk, and set the pace accordingly ensuring all the group were together and could manage the trickier rock climbs/decents. He spotted a small rock marsupial on the way and showed us a few plants and their uses as well as explaining the aboriginal rock art. As we were an able group we managed a swim and cool down in 3 pools. After lunch we caught the helicopter ( with no back doors) back to the start of the walk. The flight was short but gave us a good view of the falls from the air. We were then taken back to the airstrip by car for cheese and biscuits and a drink before our flight back to Kununurra. We had a fantastic day, made great by the Kingfisher staff. My wife and I would highly recommend this company.

His own raw enthusiasm and inquisitiveness was infectious. Everybody noted his positive impact on our day. He skillfully adjusted the walk to best suit the ability and fitness of our group. The flight out from Kununurra was an unexpected pleasure with the commentary from Lewis and Ell . Our entire group considers this a "day to remember for ever " .

All round well organised, amazing experience! Worth the money! Pilot Nick flew us safely to the plateau while pointing out all the amazing sights to see, tour guides Karl and Colier flew with us in the helicopter to the falls and then tracked back with us to camp while explaining a lot of history and showing us bush tucker. Definite highlight are the helicopter ride, the ancient rock art and the swim in the george- all to ourselves!
You want to be fairly fit for the walk but luckily we had an amazing crew of only 9pax! Highly recommend kingfisher tours! Thanks again, Gavin & Alex

Carl and Bec were incredible tour guides- knowledgeable, friendly, helpful to less able participants, and had interesting stories to share- from culturally respectful to funny anecdotes.
