Avoid I would strongly advise skipping this trip. I would go as far as to say it was dangerous. There was a total lack of care shown to the group from the tour guide we had. It was so bad that most of the children on the tour were frightened and refused to get back in the canoes after the half way point. We were told unless we wanted to hitchhike or walk for hours we better get back in. There was another tour led by a lady who were not brought as far down the river as us (due to the weather) and seemed to have a different experience to the one we experienced by our guide (older gentleman). The wind was far too strong to be out on the water or to be brought as far down the river as we were brought. My friend and I ended up in the river pushing our canoe to try and get us to safety. The tour guide paddles past without a care in the world. I would avoid this tour.

A One-Off poor experience? Our experience did not live up to the glowing reviews which we read when we booked the trip. We submitted a detailed review to the owner who took our concerns seriously and promised action in response. The issues related to the tour leader and the weather conditions. The group which took place at the same time and in the same weather conditions was led by another guide and it was evident that they had a positive experience which validated the positive reviews. We were just unlucky and chalk this up as a ‘one-off’. I would have confidence that future trips will be as good as most reviews claim.

Margaret River Canoe Tour The trip was very enjoyable. The tour guide, Emma, was very knowledgeable about the indigenous culture and history of the area. She was very patient and helpful with our canoe efforts. The bushtucker lunch was delicious and it was definitely worth the cost of the trip. Would highly recommend this tour for anyone of any skill level.

Fabulous Canoe Experience A beautiful experience paddling on Margaret River learning local history. The Bush Tucker food was delicious. I’d highly recommend this tour for anyone.

A Wonderful adventure, canoe along the Margaret River from Prevelly, enjoy the serenity of river environment and delight in the tour guides discussions around the history flora and fauna of the area and the indigenous culture about the area. You then get to stop off, on the river bank, eat delightful foods like kangaroo, emu, crocodile and bush tucker that treats the palate. A half day must do tour if you are in the region!!! Nearly 5 stars It was a great tour, enjoyed the 3 wineries, gin distillery, chocolate factory, and brewery. Communication was great, picked up on time from accommodation. The only reason we didn’t give 5 stars is because we expected a lunch provided by a winery, but the lunch was brought along in Tupperware containers. It was yummy bush tucker, just not what we expected. Still highly recommend the tour

Bushtucker Tours is certainly the tour to use when in Margaret River. Not only does Bushtucker Tours supply lunch but its Australian only foods such as their own fresh baked bread and an arrangement of Australian meats that you made never would of consumed. The crocodile and emu meats are now 2 of my favourites meats due to the Bushtucker Tours.
The vineyards we went to , the nougat chocolate company, beer and ginger beard and the spirit company was truly impressing as I never new that existence. They were simply AMAZING!!
Our tour guide, Adam, was very informative, kind and friendly to the point he drove us to our front door of the motel and helped bring in our purchases, which was a lot due to the locations we went to.
This is my second time I've been with Bushtucker Tours and it certainly won't be my last.

I joined the Bushtucker Tours Canoe River Tour twice, and it turned out to be one of the absolute highlights of my Margaret River trip. The scenery along the river was simply stunning — calm waters surrounded by lush forest, native plants, and abundant wildlife. It’s the perfect way to experience the natural beauty of the region from a completely different perspective.
Canoe guides, Adam and Ema, were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. They shared fascinating stories about the local environment, native plants, and their traditional uses. Top notch tour We had a great tour with Adam! The wineries we went to were all very approachable, and all the winery staff were pleasant to interact with. The food we had for lunch was fun and unique. It was nice to stop off at a chocolate shop and the brewery to finish the day. I went on the Canoe tour and had a wonderful time. It was just 6 people, including myself and the guide, so we shared 2 canoes. My group in the canoe weren't the best at canoeing but it was a beautiful day, and learned a lot of history. I have to say my favorite part of the tour was the food. I loved trying different bush foods, as well as kangaroo, emu and crocodile. I highly recommend this tour!

We had one of the best days ever on the winery/brewery tour. Been to on a few tours around Australia and this was maybe the best with a lot of variety. Everywhere we went were so accommodating and personal. Our tour guide, Rhys, was knowledgeable and very easy to get along with. We had such a unique and memorable day out on the canoe exploring the river and tasting native bush foods in the stunning scenery. Adam was an incredible guide, very knowledgeable, friendly and made the whole experience fun.

Unique and beautiful Margaret River experience The bushtucker canoe tour was a unique, informative and exciting experience for us in our Margaret river holiday. The online booking was easy to do, clear comms about the starting point , and what to bring for the tour. The tour guide Emma was very helpful and got us into our canoes after an initial briefing. All four of us could stay together in one canoe. Emma provided us wonderful insights into the natural flora and fauna and history of the region during the tour. We stopped for a picnic lunch which included many options for vegetarians like us and they were mostly made with indigenous ingredients. The flavours were exotic unique and tasty offering us a different culinary experience. The canoe ride back in slightly windy conditions was challenging but just to the level required to make it interesting! Highly recommend this tour if you’re in the region.

Our tour guide was very informative. She had lived in the area for a very long time and was able to give information on changes she had seen over the years and lots of information on different aspects of the river and it's ecology. We are a family of 3 and really enjoyed the paddle. Our daughter enjoyed seeing all the wildlife on the river. It was interesting trying the different Australian foods they had to offer - it's a pity we can't readily access many of these foods as they were fantastic! As a suggestion, I believe many people would enjoy being able to purchase some of the items we tried on the journey.

Bushtucker Winery and Brewery Tour - Margaret River. Great Tour. Full day tour, which we booked at the visitor centre in Margaret River. We were picked up at 10.15 from our accommodation, and got back about 17.00. Ten people in a mini-bus.
We visited Woody Nook, Knotting Hill, and Bettenay's wineries, The Grove Distillery, a chocolatier, and a brewery. Our guide was Adam, who was very informative, and gave us a great lunch.
We bought a case of wine that kept us going for a few days !
All good - would recommend.

Great experience Wow this owner went absolutely over the top to help us get a great experience. Our cruise ship moved in our time to leave the same day. The owner picked us up personally and drove us back to the ship in time to catch our last tener back to the ship.

During travel we were told the story of Busselton. Her knowledge was over the top amazing.

Once we were with the tour it continued to be just outstanding fun and history sharing.

Don’t use anyone else in our opinion but this company. We will return to Busselton to see the caves with this tour company

My family did the bushtucker canoe tour and all I can say is what an amazing tour. We had Em as our guide and she had a beautiful and calm disposition, her ability to provide information was so well delivered. The canoe experience through the river allowed us to enjoy and learn so much. The lunch certainly was a highlight, what a unique and wonderful way to put Aussie bushtucker on display and for us to experience. Not only did it taste wonderful it was presented just beautifully with everything well thought out. Thank you to the team for putting on such a great experience. We would highly recommend it to everyone we know.

The bushtucker canoe & lunch tour was a big highlight of our trip down south. A group of 9 (4 adults & 5 kids ranging from ages 6-14). Spread out over two canoes, it was physical but worth the effort. The scenery was spectacular, the knowledge of the guides was vast and the bush tucker lunch was delicious and well thought out. Plenty of food for all and it was great to try native Australian delicacies. A must do trip and I would highly recommend!

Very easy to book, good communication from the organisers and they picked us up and dropped us off at our rental property, which saved us having to get to a pick up point. The tour was great - we were drinking by 11am! The tour guide, Peter, was hospitable and very knowledgeable. We had a great bunch of people on the tour as well. The lunch was tasty and it was a good learning experience about wine. It was really interesting to see wineries, breweries and distilleries as part of the tour and ending up in a chocolate factory, rounded off the day nicely! Thanks to everyone involved. James

Bloody ripper day out! A must if you’re heading to Margs! My mate and I came down and we had booked the Bushtucker tour. Our tour guide was Marty and he was a ripper bloke! His local knowledge of the region along with his cracker stories and humour made the day one of the most memorable ones I’ve had in Margs.

The entire booking process was simple and I was kept in the loop re: pickup, timing etc for the whole time.

The food was great, as a bushtucker enthusiast, I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I love doing tours wherever I go but these guys know how to put a great, professional show on.

We had a great day in the canoes, hard yakka to keep it in a straight line 😄. Marty our guide was very informative. The bush tucker picnic was an experience, many of the bush fruits we’d never tried. Definitely recommend this tour as a different way to experience Margaret river 👍

A good day out in Margaret River Marty was a great tour guide. Good sense of humour and excellent knowledge. Bush food lunch well explained by Marty, and amazingly tasty. Enjoyed the vineyards and tastings. Could have left the chocolate shop visit out - no tastings, just a retail shop. Last brewery stop could have been longer as there were some great beers. A good day out.

Friendly tour guide, rushed day Tour guide was lovely and very friendly. The bush tucker lunch was definitely an amazing experience and absolutely enjoyed it.

Apart from that we felt like the day was rushed a bit and some places we wasted time waiting around while others were too rushed.

The first place we went to for tastings was the best and if the other places would have been the same then this would probably be a 4-5 star review. The first place the lady explained to us about the wine, how to properly taste wine and the difference. In each tasting she gave us about 3 mouth fulls of wine which is a good serving for a tasting.

Day was off to a good start. Then it went downhill. The other places we went to were rushed. Felt like they were trying to quickly finish the wine tasting to get onto the next one. We were lucky to get 1 mouthful per tasting and the people didn’t explain very well and were not very friendly. I reckon out of the whole day which was 6-7 hours long I would have had a total of 3 glasses of wine, not even enough to put me over the driving limit. I got home a drove to dinner.

One place after our tasting we waited there for 40 minutes before going to our next place which forced everyone to need to buy something to eat and drink otherwise we would just be sitting there doing nothing for 40 minutes.

The most disappointing part was that there was not cheese factory. That’s the main reason I booked this one over some others. I found out afterwards that the cheese factory is temporarily closed. They should not be advertising this in their ad if we are not stopping by the cheese factory.

Overall, the tour guide was really good but would not recommend this specific one to friends.

Great tour and food. The tour along the River was great. A few mishaps prior, but the team were great at rectifying. Greg the tour guide was very knowledgeable of the history of Margaret river both in Australian and Aboriginal. In addition, to the native flower and fauna. It is a very pleasant and enjoyable activity to do. The delectable food provided was amazing, offering local bushtucker food. It is a sacred river to the aboriginals. Didn't see others tourist or locals swimming in this river. Through this tour you get the chance to swim in a magical river, as a one off time. I would highly recommend this activity, especially if it is your first time in Margs.

Amazing tour in a beautiful region - and great value! Overall an amazing day! From the quick email confirmation for my dietary and disability requirements, to the SMS confirmation of pick-up time the day before, and the pick-up from my accommodation in Busselton, it was a brilliant day.

I was solo, but there were 12 others on the tour. Steve the tour guide was friendly and informative, and very approachable throughout the day. The lunch spread he put out was excellent, with a wide range of native ingredients, all labelled and context given as needed. Vegetarian was well catered for, as was the range of meats.

Visited three wineries, two of which were great. The other (Knotting Hill) seemed annoyed that I was on the tour alone, preferring the people in pairs, and definitely focused on only making sales.

Cape Naturaliste wines and Woody Nook wines were both lovely, great surrounds and staff. Grove distilling, Cheeky Monkey brewery and Margaret River chocolates were all excellent too.

The only downside was that the bus we were on was pretty old and noisy and sounded on the verge of breakdown at times! That said, I felt completely safe and was delivered back to my accommodation on time.

Cannot recommend this tour company enough - I got to see the region, taste lots (and lots!) of different drinks, learn a lot about the history and landscape, eat some amazing native ingredients, and best of all, not risk driving myself.

Best tour in Margaret River with a knowledgable guide! I went on two winery tours while I was in Margaret River and this one was by far the best! I admit, I was a little hesitant because of the name of the tour but it turned out,it was a tour with people that were interested in getting to know the wine, not just in getting drunk. Our guide Greg was so knowledgeable, warm friendly and totally accommodating to each individual guest. He provided fascinating stories about the region and the history. The lunch was also very interesting. It included indigenous foods and the stories behind them. Pick-up and delivery was right on time and it seemed that this company had a good relationship with all the wineries we visited.
