Bush Tucker Tours was one of those experiences that stays with you.

I was in awe of the depth of knowledge not only about native plants and bush foods, but also the history of the area and the stories connected to the land.

Getting to taste native tucker made it even more memorable. Crocodile, emu, kangaroo and a whole range of native plants I couldn’t possibly name now but I certainly remember the experience.

It was fascinating, generous, incredibly informative and completely unforgettable. I would highly recommend experiencing Bush Tucker Tours for yourself.

This excursion was a highlight of our 5 day stay in Margaret River. Helen was so experienced, knowledgeable and lead us along the river in a gentle fashion that suited our large group of 14. Even though our canoe zig zagged up the river we laughed along the way. We loved the history of the region that unfolded along our river row. The bush tucker was another level all together. Beautifully presented a variety of bush tucker food that made our mouths water. An overall fabulous day out that I’d highly recommend to any locals or visitors to the region.

Margaret River Bush Tucker Canoe Trip - A great day out. My wife and I went on the Bushtucker Canoe trip with Dave as our guide, along with a group of others. Dave was an excellent guide and kept us entertained and informed at all things local about Margaret River and surrounds, including the bush tucker food we ate for lunch. Despite a headwind hitting us on the paddle up the river we were assisted by a tailwind on the way back. I can't recommend this canoe trip highly enough and if possible try and get Dave as your guide. He's the best.

Family holiday This winery tour was fantastic & great value for money, with our very informative guide Pete who has a great sense of humour, picked us up from where we were staying. Everything was well setup, with lovely wineries & tastings allowing for time to explore each one and purchase delightful goodies as well as wine, beer & spirits. Stopping for lunch at one of the breweries/wineries the food at Cheeky Monkey was delicious with the other 8 people I. Our group all having positive feedback with their choice for lunch. One of the best fish tacos ive ever eaten. A visit to chocolate factory/shop was amazing with sooooo much chocolate you are spoilt for choice. You will find delicious icecream, nougat & cheeses along your tour. Thank you Carol for an amazing experience & to Pete for being a great tour guide. Yesterday we enjoyed one of the best wine tasting experiences Ive ever had. ADAM our tour operator was very impressive with his knowledge of the region, the wine and the bushtucker.

The vibe was great, visiting more boutique wineries that all had award winning wines. We sampled and had croc, emu and kangaroo amongst many different varieties of Australian fruits, and herbs. There was chicken and beef for the less adventurous.

The nougat and chocolate inclusions were phenomenal, along with a visit to a distillery and a beer brewery. All places we visited were stunning and easily could have been wedding venues.

All in all it was the best experience for us. We are a younger couple and wanted to avoid the snobbery associated with intense wine culture. We hit the nail on the head. Made some new friends along the way and got invited to a wedding. We ended up eating dinner with all our new friends we are now called “The Adam’s Family”

Unforgettable day for all the right reasons. Helen the owner gave us an action packed experience. It was fabulous, we were told about the history of tye area . Adam took us to some great wine estates a chocolate factory, brewery and a distillery.. great full day.
Lunch was a small snack but I came away liking kangaroo meat🤣 not emu or crocodile meat
We came away with lots of friends from different countries, some we will meet in the future.

Great time, great weather. Was a lot of fun and educational. Lucked out with perfect weather. Would recommend to the tour company to either move the trash bins or cover them before placing out all the food near them. Just bad optics. Guides were both very nice and friendly.

Early Start = Less Wind We really enjoyed our canoe trip and learning about all the local bush tucker. Emma was a really good hostess, very knowledgeable, calm and proficient. And the food was delicious! Emma also did a nice job of making sure everyone felt like they knew each other, which was a lovely touch.

Our only criticism of this tour is why it started so late, knowing that the wind would pick up and make it less enjoyable. If the tour began at say, 7:30 or 8, the conditions around lunch time would be perfect for swimming. But by the time we got to the pontoon it was probably gusting to 15-20 knots. Not super pleasant. Other than that, it was a great day!

One of those Best Times Everrrrrr! What a beautiful experience. With three adults and three children it was a scientific feat to coordinate our canoeing endeavours to locomote ourselves upriver! We had a wonderful day. Such a brilliant lunch comprising wild foods, and utterly delicious, with our guide explaining where the products came from in the wild. A memorable and pleasurable meal. I loved learning the history of the area and the heritage of the indigenous people for whom I have such respect and admiration. We swam in the river and had a restful lunchbreak in the sun. Thank you so much for one of those 'best times in my life'.

Great day out wine tasting Had a few days vacation in Busselton, managed to book the night before for the winery tour with bushtucker gourmet lunch.
Booking online was easy and had confirmation back in minutes from the owner Helen saying the pick up time would be 10.30 from our hotel.
Our driver and guide Peter was a true blue Aussie, very friendly and knowledgeable.
Visited quite a few wineries, Margaret River chocolate factory and The Cheeky Monkey Brewery.
The bushtucker lunch was set up by Peter whilst the rest of us sampled the wine.
Meats on offer were crocodile, emu, kangaroo and beef together with other Australian delights.
Well worth the $$ and would do again.

We always thoroughly enjoy the Bush Tucker tour, having done it four times since our initial tour on our honeymoon in 1999.
Emma our guide was excellent and it was great that the river and beach mouth had barely changed over the years.
We would highly recommend this tour and will no doubt return at some point to do it again.

Great experience on the bushtucker canoe tour, we learned a lot about the history of Margaret river and had a lovely bush tucker lunch, which enabled us to sample lots of things we have never tried before aswell as some bushfoods. Highly recommend!

Just one of the best days ever! From the minute we were picked up by Dave to the drop off what a fabulous day. The wine tasting was good - the first being the most informative. Plenty of wine to taste in three different wineries. Then for a cocktail tasting which was right up my street!! Then on to the chocolate factory. Not really a factory in the sense of machinery making the chocolate but a shop with lots of gifts and samples. The final stop was at the cheeky monkey brewery. Great lager, pale ale and ginger beer. Homeward journey took us via kangaroos so well worth the cost. Met some great people too. Thanks bushtucker tours. Highly recommend

The Beauty and Bounty of Margaret River Enjoyable, educational, relaxing and delicious new foods to try. Adam our tour guide was capable & knowledgeable. He obviously enjoyed his work. We all had fun.

A great experience was completed with historical tales of original settlers and the indigenous people. Paddling in canoes up the river was fun for us all and stopping for lunch to taste the variety of bush food was totally amazing.

We had such a wonderful experience with Bushtucker Tours! The day was nicely paced with a morning canoe ride and refreshing swim in the river, followed by a lunch full of Australian bush-tucker. David is a very knowledgeable guide. We learned so much about the region, its history, indigenous story and all the incredible wildlife that make this stunning river home. I'd definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking for a fun and informative exploration of Wooditjup (Margaret River).

Avoid I would strongly advise skipping this trip. I would go as far as to say it was dangerous. There was a total lack of care shown to the group from the tour guide we had. It was so bad that most of the children on the tour were frightened and refused to get back in the canoes after the half way point. We were told unless we wanted to hitchhike or walk for hours we better get back in. There was another tour led by a lady who were not brought as far down the river as us (due to the weather) and seemed to have a different experience to the one we experienced by our guide (older gentleman). The wind was far too strong to be out on the water or to be brought as far down the river as we were brought. My friend and I ended up in the river pushing our canoe to try and get us to safety. The tour guide paddles past without a care in the world. I would avoid this tour.

A One-Off poor experience? Our experience did not live up to the glowing reviews which we read when we booked the trip. We submitted a detailed review to the owner who took our concerns seriously and promised action in response. The issues related to the tour leader and the weather conditions. The group which took place at the same time and in the same weather conditions was led by another guide and it was evident that they had a positive experience which validated the positive reviews. We were just unlucky and chalk this up as a ‘one-off’. I would have confidence that future trips will be as good as most reviews claim.

Margaret River Canoe Tour The trip was very enjoyable. The tour guide, Emma, was very knowledgeable about the indigenous culture and history of the area. She was very patient and helpful with our canoe efforts. The bushtucker lunch was delicious and it was definitely worth the cost of the trip. Would highly recommend this tour for anyone of any skill level.

Highlights:
-fantastic, cool, calm and knowledgeable tour guide. Our tour guide was an absolutely wonderful wise woman.

-Culturally informative, the tour really supported everyone’s knowledge of how important the river is to the Aboriginal community past and present.

- The food was unreal! I’ve never had so much Australian food in my life and I live here.

- It is fun and safe for a wide range of age groups

- No sharks in the river.

- Heaps of bird watching, bring your binoculars.

Fabulous Canoe Experience A beautiful experience paddling on Margaret River learning local history. The Bush Tucker food was delicious. I’d highly recommend this tour for anyone.

A Wonderful adventure, canoe along the Margaret River from Prevelly, enjoy the serenity of river environment and delight in the tour guides discussions around the history flora and fauna of the area and the indigenous culture about the area. You then get to stop off, on the river bank, eat delightful foods like kangaroo, emu, crocodile and bush tucker that treats the palate. A half day must do tour if you are in the region!!! Nearly 5 stars It was a great tour, enjoyed the 3 wineries, gin distillery, chocolate factory, and brewery. Communication was great, picked up on time from accommodation. The only reason we didn’t give 5 stars is because we expected a lunch provided by a winery, but the lunch was brought along in Tupperware containers. It was yummy bush tucker, just not what we expected. Still highly recommend the tour

Bushtucker Tours is certainly the tour to use when in Margaret River. Not only does Bushtucker Tours supply lunch but its Australian only foods such as their own fresh baked bread and an arrangement of Australian meats that you made never would of consumed. The crocodile and emu meats are now 2 of my favourites meats due to the Bushtucker Tours.
The vineyards we went to , the nougat chocolate company, beer and ginger beard and the spirit company was truly impressing as I never new that existence. They were simply AMAZING!!
Our tour guide, Adam, was very informative, kind and friendly to the point he drove us to our front door of the motel and helped bring in our purchases, which was a lot due to the locations we went to.
This is my second time I've been with Bushtucker Tours and it certainly won't be my last.

Top notch tour We had a great tour with Adam! The wineries we went to were all very approachable, and all the winery staff were pleasant to interact with. The food we had for lunch was fun and unique. It was nice to stop off at a chocolate shop and the brewery to finish the day. The tour did not feel rushed and we had ample time to enjoy the beautiful spots. We had a lot of fun meeting the other 4 on the tour as well! Cheers Bushtucker

I went on the Canoe tour and had a wonderful time. It was just 6 people, including myself and the guide, so we shared 2 canoes. My group in the canoe weren't the best at canoeing but it was a beautiful day, and learned a lot of history. I have to say my favorite part of the tour was the food. I loved trying different bush foods, as well as kangaroo, emu and crocodile. I highly recommend this tour!

We had one of the best days ever on the winery/brewery tour. Been to on a few tours around Australia and this was maybe the best with a lot of variety. Everywhere we went were so accommodating and personal. Our tour guide, Rhys, was knowledgeable and very easy to get along with. We had such a unique and memorable day out on the canoe exploring the river and tasting native bush foods in the stunning scenery. Adam was an incredible guide, very knowledgeable, friendly and made the whole experience fun.

The native plant tasting was so unique, the canoe ride was fun and the lunch by the river was delicious.

A great experience! We’ve already told our friends in Perth to book this experience when they head down to Margaret River, we couldn’t recommend it more!

Unique and beautiful Margaret River experience The bushtucker canoe tour was a unique, informative and exciting experience for us in our Margaret river holiday. The online booking was easy to do, clear comms about the starting point , and what to bring for the tour. The tour guide Emma was very helpful and got us into our canoes after an initial briefing. All four of us could stay together in one canoe. Emma provided us wonderful insights into the natural flora and fauna and history of the region during the tour. We stopped for a picnic lunch which included many options for vegetarians like us and they were mostly made with indigenous ingredients. The flavours were exotic unique and tasty offering us a different culinary experience. The canoe ride back in slightly windy conditions was challenging but just to the level required to make it interesting! Highly recommend this tour if you’re in the region.

Our tour guide was very informative. She had lived in the area for a very long time and was able to give information on changes she had seen over the years and lots of information on different aspects of the river and it's ecology. We are a family of 3 and really enjoyed the paddle. Our daughter enjoyed seeing all the wildlife on the river. It was interesting trying the different Australian foods they had to offer - it's a pity we can't readily access many of these foods as they were fantastic! As a suggestion, I believe many people would enjoy being able to purchase some of the items we tried on the journey.

Bushtucker Winery and Brewery Tour - Margaret River. Great Tour. Full day tour, which we booked at the visitor centre in Margaret River. We were picked up at 10.15 from our accommodation, and got back about 17.00. Ten people in a mini-bus.
We visited Woody Nook, Knotting Hill, and Bettenay's wineries, The Grove Distillery, a chocolatier, and a brewery. Our guide was Adam, who was very informative, and gave us a great lunch.
We bought a case of wine that kept us going for a few days !
All good - would recommend.

Great experience Wow this owner went absolutely over the top to help us get a great experience. Our cruise ship moved in our time to leave the same day. The owner picked us up personally and drove us back to the ship in time to catch our last tener back to the ship.

During travel we were told the story of Busselton. Her knowledge was over the top amazing.

Once we were with the tour it continued to be just outstanding fun and history sharing.

Don’t use anyone else in our opinion but this company. We will return to Busselton to see the caves with this tour company

My family did the bushtucker canoe tour and all I can say is what an amazing tour. We had Em as our guide and she had a beautiful and calm disposition, her ability to provide information was so well delivered. The canoe experience through the river allowed us to enjoy and learn so much. The lunch certainly was a highlight, what a unique and wonderful way to put Aussie bushtucker on display and for us to experience. Not only did it taste wonderful it was presented just beautifully with everything well thought out. Thank you to the team for putting on such a great experience. We would highly recommend it to everyone we know.

The bushtucker canoe & lunch tour was a big highlight of our trip down south. A group of 9 (4 adults & 5 kids ranging from ages 6-14). Spread out over two canoes, it was physical but worth the effort. The scenery was spectacular, the knowledge of the guides was vast and the bush tucker lunch was delicious and well thought out. Plenty of food for all and it was great to try native Australian delicacies. A must do trip and I would highly recommend!

Very easy to book, good communication from the organisers and they picked us up and dropped us off at our rental property, which saved us having to get to a pick up point. The tour was great - we were drinking by 11am! The tour guide, Peter, was hospitable and very knowledgeable. We had a great bunch of people on the tour as well. The lunch was tasty and it was a good learning experience about wine. It was really interesting to see wineries, breweries and distilleries as part of the tour and ending up in a chocolate factory, rounded off the day nicely! Thanks to everyone involved. James
