Great experience for a first timer It was my first time surfing and I loved it. It was windy that morning but the instructor max was very helpful and patient. I highly recommend . I wish they would take pictures of us.

Luke was amazing at helping our kids (aged 7, 10, 12 and 14) feel comfortable and become competent in surfing the conditions at Byron. Thank you for your patience and enthusiasm

We went surfing with them for the third time today, and as always, both the staff the instructors are really helpful and attentive, telling you what to improve or focus on.

We did the halfday tour and honestly it was FANTASTIC! Easy going fun vibe from the start with a great stop at Lennox viewpoint. The instructors were all fantastic (Sam, Prue, Guido), presurf theory lesson was super informative for both, the lesson and general beach safety. As first time surfers with instructors help we were even able to catch a few waves!! Absolutely incredible. Finished with a swim in the tea tree lake, it was a 12/10 value for money experience and we can only recommend it to everyone!

We had a fantastic surfing lesson experience with Byron. He was very informative and the lesson was fun. Booking process was easy and the team were friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend booking your lesson with these guys, we plan to come back for sure!!

I put my two sons (17 & 14) in for a group lesson. Excellent experience! Lovely and helpful instructors with a relaxed and fun vibe. Very short walk from the shop to the main beach. Both the boys got up and riding small waves within an hour.

Must do in bondi So much fun for any groups and the instructor was so knowledgeable - perfect for beginners and up, we had never surfed before and had so much fun and learnt loads !

Beautiful walk along the coast line Had such a great time exploring the coastline well also learning about the cultural history of Bondi Beach. Would recommend this for families, couples and solo travel.

Had the best experience here with Ava! All of the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly upon arrival, and the entire experience was amazing. I had zero surfing experience entering into the lesson, and Ava was able to teach me the tools I needed to be able to stand up and ride the waves my first day. I felt comfortable, safe and encouraged the entire time. We went back the next day for more. Ava was the absolute BEST. 100/10 recommend!!!

With my daughter Sofia went surfing with Oscar, super iper teacher that never give up until you take a wave!!! Not too much theory (just the most importan to take off and important security staffs!) that in particular with children that can surf even on their head, it's not so important! See you soon guys!!! Sam and David were the most amazing instructors for a first time surfer like me! They gave the best brief beforehand which made me feel so comfortable when it was time to get in the water! Even managed to stand up a few times which I think is down to their coaching skills!! The best couple of hours thanks guys :)

My 1st Time Surfing Was Amazing! This was an amazing experience. Never surfed before and after 2 hours, I wish I would have tried this years ago. Leo and Jonathan are great instructors and helped every step of the way. They taught the fundamentals on the sand and helped you easily understand each step in the water - foot position, how to use the board, mechanics, etc. After about 30 minutes, I was able to stand on the board with consistency and catch some waves. I even booked a 2nd session the next day and was able to see so much progress in such a short period of time thanks to Leo and Jonathan. This was a great way to meet and socialize with other travelers if you’re visiting Sydney as a solo. Will definitely book another session with them again when I return to Sydney. Highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Bondi Beach!

My wife and I had the best time today trying surfing for the first time. We were both nervous and excited, but they made us feel super comfortable right away. They were patient, fun, and really knew how to explain things in a way that made it easy to learn. We even managed to stand up a lot of times! The whole vibe was super chill and friendly - just an awesome experience from start to finish.

Excellent Lots of fun! The waves were small but it was good for learning! Luke was very helpful and gave us great tips! Even for such a busy beach we had plenty of space in the water so we weren’t crashing into anyone else.

Do it … fab experience a must in Bondi! What an awesome experience as a couple of slightly older travellers we were treated the same as everyone else and just had the best time. Brontë our instructor was knowledgeable experienced confident and taught us with patience. We both managed to stand and ride a wave life experience ticked.

SO much better than I was expecting Amazing! My first time surfing aged 39 (it was my birthday) and this was incredible. Many thanks to Che, Jay and Jessie for helping me go from zero to standing up and riding a baby wave to shore. My kids think I am the coolest dad ever now. This lesson has started a new passion for me!

I had a great experience taking 3 surfing lessons! Instructors were great, super helpful and ensured everyone enjoyed their lesson. At the end of my lessons, I was able to catch waves on my own which I’m super happy about. Can definitely recommend this surf school to anyone who wants to get into surfing!

Gorgeous way to learn surfing Bondi Beach is incredible. Surfing is apparently a blast. Instructors meet you where you are (thanks Luke!). Immaculate vibes. They even offer photos if you request them 24 hours in advance! Sunscreen, wet suits, surf board, and instructor all provided! 10/10 would recommend.

One caveat - the ocean at Bondi is not gentle. If you don’t know how to swim, please for the love of god, don’t take surfing lessons. You are expected to be relatively comfortable in water.

11/10 recommend - lets go surfing forever Lets go surfing is the BEST! I am from california and have surfed a few dozen times but have never successfully gotten past the "beginner" stage. Enter Lets Go Surfing's Hot Winter Deal Lesson Pack. All the instructors I had were good and left me with tips to improve my surf skills. However, Tom at the Bondi location was a LEGEND and helped me catch my first green wave all by myself! WOULD RECOMMEND

My fiancé and I had a surf lesson today with Tim at Let’s Go Surfing Byron, and he was absolutely incredible. From the moment we arrived, Tim was so friendly, cracking jokes and making sure we had everything we needed. Any nerves we had completely disappeared as he instantly put us at ease.
We were in a group of six, and he made sure to give everyone equal attention, which made me feel really safe and supported. At the start of the lesson, he asked each of us what we wanted to get out of the session. He didn’t promise the impossible, but he did everything he could to help us reach our goals—and we did!
Tim is honestly one of the best instructors I’ve ever had. His passion for surfing really shines through, and it’s clear he just wants everyone to have the best time possible. If I come back, I would 100% request Tim specifically. Thanks so much, Tim, for an amazing experience! 🌊🏄

First time on a board and I’m in love…. The coaches are so amazing, very knowledgeable and great teachers. They bring great vibes and make a safe environment. They handled my YWAM team of 20 with ease. I highly recommend them.

Amazing Surf Session! Let’s Go Surfing made sure we caught the best waves by advising us on the perfect day and time. Even in winter with less-than-ideal weather, we had a blast! Ava took our family and family friends out for a private group lesson and it was brilliant! Everyone was up on the board in varying degrees by the end of it but maximum fun was had by all. The long wetsuits were perfect for the Byron bay winter!

Best bucket list for student group So ..we were going as an international student group who had never been to Australia before. Our group size kept changing & our tour bus time kept changing. Very hard to plan a set time but this was on their bucket list of most favorite thing they wanted to do
I just have to say Gabriella was AMAZING - she put up with my initial booking at 3:00 only to move it b/c we realized it’ll be winter in Australia (when it’s summer for us) so sunset is 5:00 so we moved it to 12 & then I got our final itinerary from the bus and we were only at the beach 1-4 - I wanted to cry there were no time slots available I emailed Gabriella & she put us in for 1:30-3:30 it was PERFECT & we were THRILLED. Our group had SO much fun with EVAN their instructor - the day was a bit chilly but the water was warm & they had a blast LARS was most helpful checking us in.

Luke coach taught very carefully in lesson and paid attention to the learning status and safety of each student at any time. He also told me about my problems about movements when surfing, so that I could do better next time after adjusting.

I joined the Latinas on Waves - Intermediate Level group twice, and it was an amazing experience. The groups were small (up to 10 Spanish-speaking women) with two awesome instructors, and the sessions were planned based on the best spots for the weather. Plus, video coaching was included, which was super helpful.

The instructors really made the difference. They’re not just great at teaching technique—they’re super passionate about surfing, and you can feel it in every class. They encouraged us to ask questions, set goals, and even took extra time outside their work hours to review videos and provide feedback on areas to improve.

BIG THANKS to Marta, Agus, and Fede for being incredible coaches. They didn’t just teach me how to surf better—they helped me fall even more in love with it and feel confident going out on my own.

I’d 100% recommend taking a course with any of this wonderful coaches. Thank you for such an awesome experience!

Zero to Hero I started at zero and left a hero (well that's how you made me feel anyway!) On my own I felt entirely at ease from the off, every little step I made was celebrated and the gave me courage to try more. I'm sorry - forgot my instructors name (I blame the adrenalin) but you know who you are! Thank you soooo much fir a wonderful, fun and unforgettable experience! What an amazing day! This is my second time doing let’s go surfing in Byron and both times have been exhilarating and fun! Our guides taught us well, made us feel safe, and really knew their stuff. Plus they were a blast to be with! Loved having Luke, Dan, Keith and Martha with us today teaching us through the waves! Def recommend to anyone wanting to try surfing.

Go for it! It was such an amazing trip. I had never surfed before and was quite nervous. Luke was the instructor and had a really gentle and calm energy, making everyone on the team feel welcome and safe. The group was small, which made it a great and more intimate experience. This was our second private lesson with Marta from Let's go Surfing and we were SO HAPPY that she was available to teach us again. Martha made us so much more confident understanding the language of the ocean, feeling safe navigating breaking waves, and had us up surfing waves with confidence in no time. Our daughter is 8 and she had her first lesson ever with Marta ~ she loved her, felt safe with her, caught lots of waves and couldn't wipe the smile off her face. Thank you Let's go Surfing and especially thank you Marta, we will be back and will ask for you every time!

We booked a private family lesson with Let’s go Surfing and had a wonderful afternoon. It was our first time surfing. We got Marta as an instructor and she was amazing. Our children don’t speak English but she made sure they understood by showing and drawing in the sand. When we were in the water she helped us all in a very nice and informative way. We all want to surf again and if we would go with Let’s go Surfing we will make sure to book Marta again. Thanks for a wonderful memory!

Absolutely loved the stand up paddle boarding with Ava! She took us to a tea tree lake just 15 minutes away from Byron, and it was amazing. We got to paddle and swim and just chill (whatever we really wanted) in the warm waters. Highly recommend if you're not looking to surf but rather do something a bit more relaxed!

Byron Bay surf lessons I took a 2 h. surf lesson in Byron Bay with them. Great team, I learned a lot in a short period of time during the morning session. Great fun too!

Must try if visiting Bondi! Fantastic first experience of surfing, everything is provided you just need swim gear! Matt was a great instructor and good craic, with the tips he gave I even managed to stand up a few times! As a first timer I was a bit apprehensive but you soon realise you're in good hands, you gain a good foundation in the first lesson and if you have the time I would highly recommend going for more, a very worthwhile and fun experience when visiting Bondi!

Our teacher Nayis (could be wrong spelling) was so lovely - making us all feel comfortable and at ease - as I was a little anxious about surfing for the first time. Best experience! Great people, great place - Must do if you want to learn how to surf Amazing! The staff was so friendly and put us at ease when to newbies came too early to their lesson, worrying about how they were going to cope with the big waves but the staff was so professional and helpful and our surf lesson with (I believe this is the instructor's name) Nate was so good, super informative, not only about the surfing but about the local area encouraging and so chilled (also gave us a wicked location to see the sunset and grab a great pizza). This was the highlight and a dream of mine to be able to learn to surf with these guys' help. I'm sure you will too!

We had an amazing time with Ava from Let’s Go Surfing! I’m 53 and hadn’t surfed for 2 years, I’m a beginner and Ava tailored the whole lesson so perfectly. My husband and I had so much fun! Our arms were exhausted and she even towed me out once so I could catch another wave. She got us both up and riding waves- it was an absolute blast. She’s a great teacher/coach!

Winter Family Surf Lesson's couldn't be better The team was super helpful. Justin was a great instructor and really helped my 12 and 14 year old improve. The pictures they took were awesome. Lots of great memories.

My sons loved their lesson with let’s go surfing. The lesson was well organised and their instructor Charlie was great with my beginner surfers. The wetsuits and boards were in great condition and everyone at the shop was super helpful getting the boys ready for their lesson. The lesson was walking distance at a super safe part of the beach. Charlie’s great direction and tuition with the boys got them up on their boards super quick. They had an awesome time.

Great day and highly recommended A bucket list somewhat achieved as I did not manage to actually stand upright on the board; however, my age is likely the issue here and not that of the much younger generation of surf instructors attempting to teach an elder how to surf. The instructors were knowledgeable, enthusiastic, courteous, and extremely patient with all potential future surfers. The cost was very reasonable, and for at an additional cost, photographs are readily available. Great day and highly recommended.

I’ve done a whole bunch of surf lessons since starting to try and catch waves and had always struggled and wanted to give up, thinking it probably wasn’t for me. The team at Let’s Go Surfing absolutely turned that around for me though. I went solo, and the welcoming atmosphere makes you feel comfortable and part of the gang from the off. Every single member of the team are literal angels on earth, so friendly and so patient, consistently taking the time for each individual to help improve their particular area of struggle. You won’t just get a standard cut and paste session, the support and knowledge goes beyond just getting you to stand up on a board and catch a wave. You can pick their beautiful brains for tips on reading waves, conditions, paddle techniques, etc. The team’s passion for surfing is clear, and makes each session an informative joy to be part of. With the help of this smart, kind and talented bunch I’ve not become the most skilled and stylish surfer by any means but I’m confident to get out there with everything I’ve learned and go it solo. If you’re in Sydney for a while you’ll soon become addicted and if you do, I’d highly recommend their 6 week course which has also found me a solid friendship group to talk surfing and go out and support in the water with ????

This was my first surf lesson ever, I was pretty nervous going into it. But I shouldn’t have been! I had the BEST time! Ava was my instructor, she was lovely and knew exactly what she was doing. She taught me everything I needed and I managed to get up on my board multiple times! I joined the small lesson which I really recommend as you have good interaction with your teacher. Ava gave me feedback I needed and confidence to feel like I could 100% surf again so thank you!!!! 🏄🏻 🤩🐬

WE SHOULD HAVE READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE WE BOOKED.

We picked up a Jayco 2 van from Perth early January on a 45 day hire.
At the start all was well, the van was clean, smart and well equipped.

After 10 days near Exmouth the electric bed failed in the up position. Lets go were clueless. After 3 days sleeping on the floor, we found an electrician who lowered the bed and stated that a new circuit board was required. The bed was now usable but we could not be raised or lowered so we could not sit or eat inside.
After another 10 days of phoning Lets go many times a day (one phone call they hung up on us) it showed that they were totally clueless, had no plan or idea of what to do. THEY HAD NO SPARES NOR BACK UP.

A phone call to their head office in Victoria produced the comment “You should have hired the van from Melbourne, Perth is too remote”

After these 10 days we abandoned the idea if help from Lets go and got on with our holiday, and had to eat all meals outside – luckily the weather was good.

The BASIC PROBLEM WAS THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE A SUPPORT NETWORK IN WESTERN AUSTRALIA. IT WAS TOO REMOTE. THEREFORE WHY DO THEY HIRE VANS FROM PERTH.

Previously we had always hired Apollo vans (4 times). Once we had a problem near the remote Township of Fitzroy Crossing W.A. – FIXED IN 24 HOURS, with good recompense.

Whilst we were returning our van, another couple returned theirs – 2 days early, they could not stand the van any longer and had booked into a hotel.

Poor surfing instructor with almost zero engagement with students Our instructor was definitely a good surfer, otherwise they wouldn’t be an instructor here, but not an experienced instructor at all.

There was not much engagement, and even when telling us about the safety instructions, their voice were really low and not even facing the students, but looking around, checking the environment, so we had a hard time catching up with what they were talking about. There were two times they suddenly ran away for something without telling students what was going on, and no explanation upon showing up again.

Of course, given the nature of group classes and uncontrollable weather, people’s experiences vary and it’s not something the instructor can do. However, getting some basic knowledge about how to instruct and maintain professionalism is critical.

Some of the staff in the shop are very helpful, and other people’s experience seems to show there are quite a few good instructors, but none of them mentioned ours, so I assume they must be new to coaching surfing.

We didn’t have a good time and hope this surfing school offers some basic training techniques to instructors, so all the others in the future will still have a good time surfing here.

Amazing first experience First surfing lesson for my husband and I and we had fun! Misha, our instructor, was very friendly and taught us all the basics. He asked for our goal and helped us achieve them, while providing fun along the way

Managed to stand up with the help of Harry and Paul!!!!! I’m here on solo trip. I never tried surfing before. I had my first lesson with the instructor, Harry from Australia, who is very energetic and taught me a lot. My second and third lessons were with Paul from Barcelona. I felt safe when I was facing a big wave on my board having him held tightly of my legs and board. Although I can’t see how he pushed me, I saw how he pushed the other students, and I’m thankful. With his suggestion I managed to stand up.
But still, I’d like to say that it’s more like weight lifting training rather than surfing, cuz it required a lot of energy for you to get out of the wave while holding your board at the same time.
Employees here are really kind and welcoming. I don’t know it’s because all Aussies are the same or just I met a lot of friendly Aussies. Anyway, it’s a good memory. And I met a guy sharing the same lesson, and we still in contact now.

Awesome instructors and great surf We had the best experience with Nat our surf instructor. The whole time we felt safe and well supported and we managed to get standing on our surf boards on our first ever time surfing. Thank you so much Nat- you’re awesome!!

Our experience with Let’s Go Surfing was amazing. We had the 4 hour tour with Ava, she was the best! Our family of 5 (kids 11, 12, 14) all got up on surfboards and can’t wait to get up on the boards again. She’s a great instructor and guide for the beautiful Byron Bay. We’ll never forget it. Hands down best experience of my life!!! Dan and Lucas were the instructors and they did a fabulous job at informing us on all the details when it came to the ocean, the board and our safety. They ensured everyone felt comfortable before entering the ocean to catch some waves. They did a remarkable job at making sure everyone got the help and guidance they needed to in order to execute a wave. Such kind men. Amazing service!! I am a newbie first timer for surfing and I was up in my feet riding the waves a few times, so great coaches helping you out in the water.
The coaches were so friendly and welcoming.
One coaching in particular stood out to me I couldn’t remember her name but she is from France, very helpful, supportive and friendly coach. Made me feel great when I was up on my feet! Would definitely come back for a second lesson.

Want to get into surfing now I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Highly recommend these guys!
