Tour Itinerary
7am – Canberra hotel pickup commences
Meet your guide in the hotel lobby before scenic transfer to the coast.
Enjoy stories of early pastoral settlements as you pass historic townships such
as Bungendore and Braidwood. Leave the bustling Capital behind as we enter temperate
forests on our way down the mountain to the coast. Look for Tall Man Ferns,
Lyrebirds and ocean glimpses as we pass through the Great Dividing Range.
930am – Travel to the
quintessentially Australian Murramarang National Park to meet the famous
friendly kangaroos that laze and graze along the beaches. Search for colourful bird
life, dolphins playing offshore, and spend some time unwinding in this secluded
paradise.
1130am – Back in the vehicle for a short
drive to the seaside town of Batemans Bay. Enjoy some free time shopping and scouting
out lunch options along the waterfront. Your guide will be close by to help you
with any lunch ideas, like where to find the best coffee or fish and chips!
130pm – After a quick stop to change into suitable
kayaking clothes, you will be met by our experienced kayak guide who will
provide you with all the gear and tuition you need to paddle the calm and
pristine waters of the Clyde River. After just a short journey in your
comfortable sea kayak, arrive at the famous Wray Street Oyster Shed where you
will meet a 4th generation Oyster farmer. Sample the freshest oysters you can
get – straight from the river! – and learn about the history and science behind
the oyster farming industry. We then paddle on to visit working oyster farms; scouting
for stingrays, soaring birds of prey and other wildlife along the tidal sand
flats, before returning to shore.
3.00pm – Back on solid ground, we’ll say farewell to your kayak guide
and board the vehicle back to Canberra, sharing stories and laughs along the
way.
(You may choose to book accommodation in Batemans Bay to extend your
stay! We are happy to recommend accommodation options and transfer you to your coastal hotel or Airbnb at the end of your tour.)
530pm – Arrive back at your Canberra
accommodation.

We were lucky enough to encounter a bob of inquisitive fur seals on our trip which was unexpected and provided the highlight of our holiday.
Josh provided great communication throughout the planning and booking process and made sure the trip fitted in with our holiday plans.
This company is amazing and I recommend you do any of their experiences. Every time I've dealt with them they have been professional, flexible and friendly. Good people who just want you to get the most out of life!
It was the best up close and personal views of seals of my life. I loved the connections with Josh and the other participants. Morning tea was excellent. Everything about the day was excellent.
It ticked all the boxes
- scenery was amazing (we even saw whales - well done Region X excellent organisation)
- guides were smart, informative and fun!
- accommodation was amazing - woke up to beach views and kangaroos
- food was great!
A very manageable walk for all!
Another great thing was that the tour didn’t feel rushed at all.
Saw some rays, jellyfish, black swans, oyster catchers and kookaburras ????
Our car got a flat battery just before we leave for the tour, the ladies from Region X is kind and flexible to postpone our tour with short notice.
Michael, our Kayak instructor is super friendly, super patient and super knowledgeable.
We will explore their 5-hour Kayak + snorkeling next time when we can revisit Batemans Bay.
Mike was very calm and informative. We had a great morning tea too. We hope to come and have another snorkel soon!
Don’t even contemplate, if you’re looking for something to do in Batemans Bay, you gotta check Region X out and book this tour!
We went up all the way to the estuary and kayaking through the mangrove trees, which would be the only way to explore that area in style.
The trip is also separated with small breaks and the kids were having an awesome time playing games up on the beach.
Most of all, the team was always there making sure you're looked after throughout the entire journey.
Highly recommended! Thank you for making our morning so enjoyable!
Do not miss this or you have missed the best part of one of the greatest way to explore this area
With all the meals and organisation taken care of, all we had to do was turn up and enjoy this incredible
Walking is easy with only slight grades, carry plenty of drinking water for this walk.
Such a nice experience. Thank you!
Thank you
Highly recommend
The owner of the oyster farm gave us an overview of the local oysters and harvesting techniques before letting us taste the local oysters.
Wonderful day and great valley for money.
