ITINERARY:
Day 1:
Cape Naturaliste to Smiths Beach 16.5km
Begin the hike at Cape Naturaliste, the first section of the Cape to Cape Track. This starts with a gentle downhill stroll on the ‘access-for-all’ section of track to the stunning vistas of Sugar Loaf Rock. The Track then runs along an extended section of carved limestone sea cliffs before reaching the coastal hamlet of Yallingup. After Yallingup pass over the granite headland at Torpedo Rock and on to the fabled Smiths Beach. Walk and settle into your accommodation at Smiths Beach this afternoon.
Day 2:
Smiths Beach to Moses Rock 14.75km
From Smiths the topography changes quickly as giant granite marbles dominate near Canal Rocks. Travel high over the ridge and past Rotary Lookout, before dropping back down on to the beach at Injidup. Travel up high over the ridge, through the coastal tee tree and back onto the wild south-west facing coast. Weave through stunning areas of limestone cliff and granite before ending at the fantastic Moses Rock where a CCET team member will transfer you back to your accommodation.
Day 3:
Moses Rock to Gracetown 15kms
The Track rises high over several large limestone headlands before flattening out on Willyabrup Beach. A wonderfully constructed staircase then guides walkers up and onto the stunning sea cliffs of Wilyabrup Cliffs. After passing the cliffs, the Track drops back down onto the beach, passing the famous, surfing breaks of Gallows and Guillotines. The coast then turns decidedly rocky as it weaves over picturesque granite boulders and finally into the pretty hamlet of Gracetown. Relax here and enjoy an afternoon dip before heading back to your room.
Day 4:
Gracetown to Gnarabup 21.75km
Pack your bags this morning as you will be moving accommodation today. Beginning at the picturesque hamlet of Gracetown, follow the low coastline to the historic settlement of Ellensbrook, where we will be given a brief tour. From Ellensbrook, the Track quickly leaves the coast and meanders through sand dunes and past Ellensbrook homestead and Meekadarbee Falls. Visit the isolated coves of Gnoocardup and the torquoise bay of Kilcarnup. Marvel at the centuries-old osprey nest in Horseshoe Bay and then take in some of the world’s finest surfing coastline at Prevelly. Check into your accommodation and enjoy your new room.
Day 5:
Gnarabup to Boranup Forest 22.5km
From the limestone ridge at Prevelly head down into the sheltered creek line of Boodjidup Brook. Continue on and experience the white sands of Boodjidup before reaching historic Redgate Beach. Next is very likely one of the best sections of the Cape to Cape Track: the scenic coastal cliffs at Bob’s Hollow and Contos (although we may be biased as CCET have adopted and maintain this leg!) Enter the majestic Karri forest, home to the world’s third tallest hardwood! A longer day, but the solid track under foot and afternoon shade of the karri forest make it all seem easy!
Day 6:
Boranup Forest to Cosy Corner 20.5km
Start amongst the tall karris of Boranup Forest, home to an array of wildlife and wildflowers in season. Head south, back into the coastal heath, and down onto the stunningly beautiful Boranup Beach. 7kms of sand walking later, find the protected Hamelin Bay, home to some of the Cape’s friendliest stingrays who love a feed of freshly caught fish! Continue on past the many islands and headlands until you arrive at the stunning Cosy Corner. You will then be driven back to your accommodation.
Day 7:
Cosy Corner to Cape Leeuwin 21km
The last leg of the Cape to Cape Track faces more into the south than the rest of the coast. True wilderness with limited road access, the sights are reserved for the local hooded plovers and you. Granite headlands are broken up by long sections of shoe-sucking sand. Formidable, but every step takes you closer to the Leeuwin lighthouse and the moment of celebration.
Departure Day: Enjoy a leisurely morning and check out by 10:00am.

Our guide, Colin Fox, was outstanding—knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate. We truly appreciated the seamless transfers to and from our accommodation, the delicious cookie and lunch box, and above all, the breathtaking variety of landscapes we encountered throughout the hike. A lovely final touch was being served hot tea at the end, such a warm and comforting way to conclude the adventure!
It was an unforgettable experience and absolutely worth it. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a taste of the Cape to Cape Track but who may be short on time!
Guides very professional, knowledgeable and thoughtful. Nothing was too much trouble.
The 5 night Bibbulmum from Walpole to Peaceful Bay is a beautiful part of the track. A great experience.
Many thanks to the Cape to Cape team
And what an incredible company!!
The enthusiasm and passion of every member of the team is overwhelming… not to mention the incredible food, comfortable accommodation, transport to and from the track and the manner in which everyone bent over backwards to make sure our experience was the best one possible. Each super friendly local guide shared their knowledge to enhance our understanding of the flora, fauna, geology and history of the area. And those million dollar views along the coast were worth every single step!
For a business that has grown exponentially over the last few years and operates, what must be a logistical minefield, it blows my mind that the business founder/owner, Gene, still answers initial enquiries on his phone... this guy is super down to earth, friendly as f@#* and nothing is a problem! 👌
We stayed at Margarets Beach Resort for the duration of our 7 day hike in a 1 bed spa aptmt ... I enjoyed the pool after a day's hike and my wife loved the spa!
We were amply provided with brekkie rations, lunch & dinner for the duration too...and everything was so fresh and yummy!
The drivers we had - Hannah, Mal, Colin, James & BreeZ were great value, very knowledgeable & just top notch folk! (special mention to BreeZ and the laughs we had en route Day 7 ....priceless!! 🤣👌)
And the 'Capes' herself.... well what can I say! She ALWAYS delivers! We were treated to wonderful weather and spectacular views!
BIG Thanks to the C2CET team for looking after us! I will continue to recommend you to everyone! 💚🌳🌞
Gene, enthusiastically and joyfully picked us up in a mini bus for our wonderful day.
While hiking Gene imparted his knowledge of the Cape to Cape, captivating both adults and children, we discovered that Western Australia was connected to the Indian subcontinent of the supercontinent Gondwana approximately 130 million years ago sharing the same black boulders to this day, indigenous culture, the flora and fauna. A great picnic lunch was provided.
We kayaked the local river, then Gene had us playing a game, when we first entered Mammoth Cave, so much fun!
Thanks to Gene’s great knowledge and organisational skills we had a wonderful day.
Very well organized, knowledgeable and friendly staff and guides who pointed out details and greatly enhanced my knowledge about, and understanding of, this part of Australia. Individual needs were met with creativity and a smile. Living at Surfpoint, glamping, was comfortable and uncomplicated. CCET seems truly committed to caring for the environment they work in and their local community. I highly recommend the hike and CCET.
They absolutely love and respect the land, nature, their guests and their employees. They're there for you every step of the way, making things easy and ensuring you have fun along the way. Every single detail is taken care of, the organisation is absolutely perfect, the guides and the people behind the scenes are totally in tune. You'll be personally taken care of and all your personal requests will be catered for. You can see that they are passionate about what they do and they are clearly the best at it.
It was a pleasure to see their dedication to Track and to nature, and every day I was surprised by something new and exciting, as they far exceeded all expectations.
The food is fresh, very tasty and there is a very generous supply of tea and coffee available. The accommodation is lovely.
I simply loved the Cape To Cape experience and cannot recommend them highly enough. I was truly blessed with our wonderful group.
The whole trip was an absolute joy and I'm so grateful to CCET for making it all happen. All I had to do was show up every morning and walk – they did all the rest! Thank you and well done, CCET!
The spring flowers were out, and the weather generally played ball with cool to moderate temperatures. The scenery was magnificent, and the track was pretty easy to navigate with only a few off-piste adventures. If you cannot make time for the whole trip, or don't think you can manage the full 123km, consider the highlights option. We added a wine tasting tour at the end which finished our trip in delightful fashion.
Our accomodation was first rate, the food plentiful and tasty and nothing was too much problem for the C2C team. Our drivers were friendly and knowledgeable and Floss from catering was amazing, Thank you Gene and team for an unforgettable week. We especially enjoyed your recommendation to eat at the Brewhouse. Will definitely be looking at a return in the future.
I had the privilege of hiking with a bunch of people (local and interstate) that kept me laughing all the way.
A huge thank you to all the CCET team I met and the ones I didn’t - your countless hours of work were appreciated.
My ‘glamping’ was very comfortable and all meals were amazing.
This well organised adventure is provided by passionate, knowledgeable and entertaining humans.
Thank you all !
Nothing was too much trouble, communication was great, Gene and the entire team were warm, happy, informative.
We did the 7 day self guided walk. Accommodation, transportation and logistics were well organized.
The breakfast supplies were plentiful and the meals delicious.
Oh and the walk itself… spectacular and challenging! Wonderful experience overall!
Big shout out to the wonderful CCET crew, Randall, Sophie, Colin, Rusty, Kristie, Bree, Nic, Floss, & Archie to name a few. Everyone was so kind and welcoming and we could tell that they love what they do. The accommodation was great and the food was sensational (thankyou to the catering crew :-) ) The wonderful thing about this tour is that it allowed us to simply walk and enjoy the beauty of the area. CCET took great care of the rest.
Shara & Adrian
The itinerary, accommodation, staff, food, scenery was all beyond my expectations.
Don't hesitate at all about doing this stunning, amazing experience, get on & do it, you will not be dissapointed.
I left this experience with far more than I could've imagined, it was honestly life changing for me. Thankyou & bless you all, you will see me again for sure????❤️
Just over 125km in total.
Great walking mates, best coastlines, beautiful forests, birds and other wildlife, chatting with other ‘Cape to Capers’ along the way, challenging ourselves across various terrains over long distances, many laughs and many memories created. We did it!!
Cannot give enough credit to Cape to Cape Explorer Tours - a local Margaret River based award winning tourism provider - fantastic food, great accommodation at Margaret’s Beach Resort, lovely and caring staff who provided excellent service. Well organised tour that we all would recommend. We believe the cost of our hike, which included our accommodation, food and transport, was great value!!
Don't be fooled though- it is very hard- although it is called 'Cape to Cape Track', for a lot of it there is actually no track! Climbing over granite and limestone rocks, navigating steep sand dunes, stairs with chains, and overgrown paths. The beach walking killed me- unfortunately the week we were there it was unseasonably hot- so very hard!
Cape to Cape Explorer Tours were great- everything taken care of- breakfast box was amazing- lunches and trail snacks yummy- and all staff so knowledgable, and friendly, and encouraging.!
And that was the theme during the whole trip.
Everything was organised, from stepping off the bus in Margaret River to putting us back on it a week later.
Accommodation was comfortable and friendly.
The food was excellent and very thoughtfully planned. Even the small titbits were locally sourced and of high quality.
Transfers to the start and end of the daily walk were tailor made for us. The drivers were very friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable, particularly Hamish.
The walk itself is stunning. A must do wherever in the world you come from.
The scenery is mesmerizing and the track just difficult enough to provide a challenge but not so difficult to be unenjoyable.
We were provided with a PLB, which we didn’t need thankfully!
We were also provided with background on the history and geography (both European and Indigenous) to allow us to understand the topography, flora and fauna we encountered.
Staff were friendly , helpful, encouraging and so informative.
We chose to do the 7day unguided and self catered option with Cape to Cape Explorers in October
It was the most wonderful walk - so diverse and many beautiful vistas - whale sightings , wild flowers , chilly swims , gorgeous beaches
Gene and his team at Cape to Cape Explorers were amazing with their passion and local knowledge which they shared just driving us to and from our starts and ends - always communicating and on time with their pickups despite being a very busy time
Nothing was too much trouble plus we witnessed their amazing empathy with a walker another guided group who was battling with the walk
The accommodation they booked us was perfect
I would highly recommend using this company and this walk
Amazing
Very well organised trip. Food delivered was good and the attention to dietary requirements was excellent. The guides were all friendly, encouraging and knowledgeable. Our accommodation was first class.
