Superb Boutique Vineyards in Hunter Valley We were on a road trip from Brisbane to Sydney and looking to experience some wine tastings. We booked this half-day tour since they offered pick-up and drop-off from our hotel. Also a visit to a cheesery and several vineyards. Our driver was very polite and informative. We enjoyed the cheese paired with wine. Next was a visit to Oakvale and then First Creek. Both had interesting wines, detailed tasting sheets and great bottles to purchase!

Very good wine tour starts in Hunter Valley Hi there, this is Xingyu. I do this trip on 27 April and Ness is the tour guide. This half day tour includes three wineries and no other shop stops, which is very suitable for people who love wines. The first winery has wine tasting paired with cheese and Ness is knowledgeable that she knows the pairing very well. The other two wineries also have some good wines including Hunter valley whites, reds and sparkling wines (a sparkling Shiraz). The afternoon tour drops off me around 5:30 pm so I have enough time to catch the final bus from Cessnock to Maitland at 6 pm. Thank you.

Fantastic way to spend a full day Fantastic full day tour. Alan from Two Fat Blokes was a fantastic host. All in all, each venue was very good. Our least favourite was probably the chocolate tour (the wines weren’t as good). The cheese and wine tasting and the lunch at Parched Crow was brilliant. Would do it again.

Great tour, great people My friends and I went to the Hunter for the Easter Weekend and had the best time. Brian was a great tour guide and the group was only 11 people which was an ideal size. My husband and I have been on a Two Fat Blokes tour before and this one was even better than the last. Great wineries. Great team. Fantastic time.

Family day out We wanted a fun day out with a large family group. From the booking process through to pick up and drop off we had a ball! Greg was a fantastic host, we laughed a lot, tasted some fantastic wine and cheese, laughed some more. It was great value and a brilliant experience.

Fantastic day & an overall Great experience My husband and I went on this tour, we met 2 other couples and spent the day with them and they were lovely. Wineries were great, the cheese and chocolate was yummy, cider house was different as we hadnt been there before but enjoyed the atmosphere, would have loved to go to a brewery but you can only fit so much in one day. grazing box was delivious and much needed at the half way mark. All wineries were well spaced out and we were not rushed at any spot, would recommend, our tour guide was lovely and bubbly as well.

Overall a great day Overall a great day, and good tour. The only negative feedback is that it was very rushed. Each tasting (except for the one at two fat blokes) were very rushed, where we were made to quickly drink everything and then leave.
We also started late- told to be ready at a certain time, but was picked up half hour late, without any communication.

Request Greg!!! Amazing experience. We had Greg who was very funny albeit a bit lonely. He saved an American from a red belly black snake which he caught with his bare hands and then released the snake back into the wild. We all felt very protected and safe. He would benefit from girlfriend though - so ladies if you’re over 50 and single, request Greg. Love him

I came on a half day wine tour with my boyfriend and we had the best time ever. JJ was our driver and she was the most amazing tour guide and was so knowledgeable, great navigation and great driving. We would highly recommend her and would love to come back again on one of her tours!!

Dave was awesome and really brought a lot of joy to a great wine tour. Even though it was a half day morning session and we didn't have a lot of time, he really made us feel comfortable and full of fun!

Did the Flavours of The Hunter half day tour. Had a great driver & guide DJ who had extensive experience in the wine industry. We visited a cider place, had wine & cheese pairing and visited a distillery tasting gin, vodka and liqueurs. Highly recommend Two Fat Blokes Gourmet Tours.

A most excellent day out in the Hunter Valley! We had a brilliant day out on this tour - 4 vineyard tastings, a trip to a cider house and an amazing lunch with a fabulous group and our brilliant guide. Definitely recommend doing this tour!

We’ve just finished the Two Fat Blokes tour and found it an interesting mixed experience. The combination of cider, wine and distillery tastings made for a varied day, but if you’re a serious wine lover, this tour may not be the best fit. The cellar door experience felt limited, with product knowledge largely matching what was being poured rather than offering deeper insight.

The standout was the Small Mouth tasting, which was a fun novelty and a real highlight of the day. The only practical downside was an unexpected stop for petrol on the return journey to our accommodation.

Overall, an enjoyable day for a casual tasting experience, but those seeking a more premium or wine-focused tour may want to explore other options.

Great fun and recommended We were driven by JJ who also hosted the second tasting. We had four vineyard stops and a fifth stop to taste cider or beer. Not sure it was necessary but the views were beautiful. Our group were friendly and we had great fun. You’ll learn enough about the Hunter Valley and the production of wine but it’s not a tour for the connoisseur

Our host DJ was great fun and super knowledgeable! We has a great time celebrating our wedding anniversary with the crew from TFB. The wineries we visited were great; everything was delicious & the bus was very comfortable. We just felt that the tour was missing a few small touches to give it 5 stars, such as bottles of water in between stops. Overall, we enjoyed it, but the Hunter is no McLaren Vale!

A great day out in the Hunter Valley. We had a great day. Plenty to drink and eat! We thought the cider/beer tasting was a bit disappointing and would have preferred to go to another vineyard instead.
Our driver Dave was very entertaining and funny.

Though there were some challenges with storms about, she went about the tour professionally. We visited 3 wineries and enjoyed the variety that we tasted. Fun experience with a great guide! Michael and I had a fabulous time with three other couples and Dave our driver. We met the others for the first time that day and it enhanced the experience to be able to share it with the other couples. We all got to know each other a little. Dave was a great driver and guide and certainly knew his stuff! All in all a wonderful day and some great wines tasted. I also thought the cost was very reasonable and the vehicle clean and safe.

Fun, interactive and friendly My daughter and I have never been on a winery tour and this one looked amazing! The tour guide was friendly and engaging and very knowledgeable. The organised stops were varied and lots of fun. We were encouraged to interact with the other people and this enhanced the experience.
We had a great experience, except one stop, but that was the host and nothing to do with the tour guide host or company.
We would recommend this tour to anyone looking for a fun interactive interesting tour. Would definitely do this tour again!

For most of us, it was our first wine tour in Hunter, and oh how it exceeded our expectations. Our host Nes was funny and charming! She was so knowledgeable about the region and wineries, was super engaging and informative during the wine cheese pairing, and was happy to answer any questions we had (even the silly ones). Thanks Nes for making our experience so much more memorable and creating a super fun atmosphere, in which we took away lots of wine and cheese goodies, and even made some new friends with those on our tour, that we kicked on to the pub after!

Highly recommend! We did the 'uncork the hunter'. Lots of wine lots of good quality food for lunch which was an antipasto box. Big mention to our tour guide Dave who was very knowledgeable, funny and made our tour what it was! Even offering to post a girls shoes who left them in the van. 10/10 service

Absolutely loved every minute from pickup from our accommodation to drop off. Our tour guide Dave shared soo much local knowledge and kept us laughing and entertained. Gorgeous picnic lunch boxes were full of flavour and variety. Even catered to the 1 vegetarian in our group of four. Fantastic choice of wineries, including cheese and chocolate pairings. Highly recommended and we will be booking again on our next trip.

Best private tours in the Hunter We have been on a private tour and had Paul before so imagine our luck to get a second one. The right balance of knowledge and humour to make the tasting all the better. Highly recommend these guys for their private tours

Not a boutique or special wine tour Our experience was really poor. The day started well with a trip to a small organic winery. We followed this with the paired chocolate and wine tasting. After this is when the tour went downhill, our next destination was the two fat blokes restaurant for our cheese board. When we received our cheese board the entire selection was frozen from the ham to the cheese and strawberries. This was followed by by the cheese and wine tasting which was good but it was also clean skin wines from another winery, following this we actually went to the winery they bought their clean skins from and did a tasting of essentially the same wines. This did not feel boutique or special especially for the price. We had a list of wineries we wished to visit and while we actually drove up the drive way of one and got the history of what was called the oldest winery in the hunter the tour actually never stopped there. We then had to do our own tour the next day driving around where we had some incredible wines and experiences and received far more history and information of growing processes then the previous day. This tour had us feeling like we had been scammed and wasted our money.

Nice tour with great wines Our tour guide Julie picked us up at the hotel and took us to three different places. The tastings were great. From our point of view, however, there could have been a little more cheese😉 At the second place, we were allowed to visit the winery – very exciting! And at the last location, we were told about olives, but there were none served as a side dish. This would be a welcome addition and might even increase sales😊 A great and exciting tour, but we would have liked to see more of the surroundings (e.g., vineyards, outdoor tasting).

The Wine Tasting Tour of the Hunter Valley is a MUST DO if you head up there for a weekend with TFB. My wife and I did a bus tour with a group of 10 and had such a GREAT day! We took a friend who had never done a wine tour and it had a very diverse group of all ages - from ages 23 - 53 - who love wine and cheese!!! (the oldies - us, mini hen's group, nurses). Chris, our host / wine expert, was really 1st class in wine knowledge and ensuring we had a FUN day. The bus picks you up where you are staying and all the wineries are in close proximity - maximising wine tasting experiences. There are diverse cheeses and even a wine / chocolate tasting venue, as part of the tour. Got some great photos too. It would be good if the host could join the group for the sit down lunch (should be part of the fee at the very least). 10/10 fantastic day out. Living the dream!

We had an incredible time on our wine tour! Our tour leader DJ was absolutely fantastic. He was not only incredibly knowledgeable about the wineries and the region, but he also had a great sense of humor and made the entire day so much fun.

Educational, value for money fun My third wine tasting tour with Two Fat Blokes over the past decade and still remains an excellent day of education & fun paired with great wines. I was part of a group comprised of 3 Australians and 4 Britains. We started with Oakvale, on to Two Fat Blokes own & finished with First Creek. Excellent value & a must when visiting the Hunter Valley.

Had an amazing experience on our full day tour with Andy! We were very promptly picked up from our accommodation by Andy. He was very welcoming, funny and knowledgeable. We went to 5 fabulous wineries and a brewery. This also included a cheese and wine tasting, as well as a chocolate and wine tasting. One of the highlights was our grazing box for lunch provided by twofatblokes, the banana bread was especially delicious! Overall, our group of 8 had a wonderful day. Julz Our Driver was hilarious if you don’t have a sense of humour and don’t book this to tour! Our group was First shy and not really engaging but by the second winery we had to come Besties! Highly recommend this if you want to laugh all day and drink good wine

Loved this all day wine tasting tour just disappointed to be taken to a beer tasting place as the last port of call. It was rubbish!
